I have always wanted to go on a cruise, but because I can't sit on a swing without getting motion sickness, I was skeptical. Surprisingly enough, I very rarely felt any movement of the ship and when I did, it was fleeting. Seattle is a fun city to cruise from. Plenty to do if you arrive several days ahead of your departure, which I recommend doing. Cruise Alaska in August! We had absolutely lovely weather for cruising and shore excursions. I would suggest not trying to see too many things on a single day. It was not too cold so we were able to enjoy walking! Embarkation and disembarkation went extremely smooth. The food was very good. The dining rooms were lovely, and the service was top notch, but there were more casual dining opportunities available as well. The pool areas were well kept. The spa had quite a variety of treatments. Watch for discount cards in your cabin each day. Our room steward was very attentive. Read your Princess Patter newsletter each night before finalizing your plans for the next day aboard the ship as it outlines all of the events going on. I highly recommend Princess Cruises. Read Less

The food quality is going downhill from previous Princess cruises, especially in the buffet areas; but, also to some degree in the main dining rooms. The steak house was good, especially the filet. The boneless rib tasted good, but had too much gristle. Never found a really good desert in any dining area - except the real ice cream that you had to pay extra to get. This ship is over ten years old. The cabin furnishings are in serious need of rehab = the lampshades were literally falling apart from age. It took four days to replace a blown light bulb. The toilet was permanently stained. While an improvement from previous cruises, the Internet is slow (sometimes very slow) and sometimes intermittent. The change to a rate per day is good, but the Internet Manager is available only for two periods per day. Highly recommend getting a cabin with a tub and not a shower! Read Less

Traveling up the Inside Passage has been on our bucket list for years and this year, celebrating our 40th, was the year to finally do a cruise. We initially chose this cruise at a special Princess Cruises presentation at AAA. Our experience surpassed our expectations. The ship furnishings were lovely, we loved having a balcony room, and the food and service were top notch, as were the entertainment options. We never thought we would love cruising, but we are ready to book another within the next year or two. The entertainment/activity options on board the ship were numerous and we sometimes had a difficult time choosing! We appreciated the evening deliveries of the newsletters that included the next day's schedule and information about the port we'd be stopping at. The bed was very comfortable and we were surprised, with all the people on board the ship, how quiet it was inside the room. Room service was exceptional--we have never been so spoiled! Read Less
