Regardless of poor reviews that we read, we embarked on the Costa Deliziosa due to provided price discounts (~70%) for 2 x 10 consecutive days. And, the following is our personal opinion: 1. Food and its variety was very good in taste and the quality terms. Except: a) there was very poor choice of tropical & exotic fruits like Papaya (popular in Central America), Dragon, Pepino,.....etc. Kiwi were to hard and not well matured. b) often we encountered a shortage of water melons. c) often there was an annoying line-up for the food at pick hours d) service over the supper lasted too long (~ 2 hrs). e) free coffee was of poor quality 2.There was too many outdoor cigarette smoking places. The smoke from outside was entering main corridors through the door openings into the Buffet area making difficult to find a smoke-free place. Smoke was even evaporating on walking / jogging path on the top deck. Also, the walking path was blocked by people laying on chairs. Cigarette's smoke from the balcony was penetrating over the day and some night hrs inside of our balcony, hence we were very limited to have the benefits of balcony. Read Less

No matter what nationality you are, when you travel with Costa Cruise you will become Italian and live in an atmosphere full of love and human warmth. Italians are different from everyone, they are unique in the way they live their lives with others. The secret is in human contact, in the way they make you feel comfortable and important at same time , they know that everyone has a weakness for good food, pizza, pasta. wine, sweets and the beautiful Italian and Neapolitan melodic songs, I have had experiences with other Cruise Companies as: Carnival, Princess and Royal Caribbean but with Costa I reserve indelible memories, I do not exaggerate but the cleanliness that I have always found on Costa Cruise ships I have not found them from any others Cruises Ship For this and more if you decide to take a cruise I recommend Costa Cruise My next cruise will be with Costa Cruise again Read Less

We chose this cruise because it suited the dates we wanted to be away. The Good: The ship and cabin were nice and clean. The Staff in general work so hard!! They have so much energy!! We really appreciate their enthusiasm! We enjoyed the shows and had great time at the Mirabilis bar. New Year's Eve was a blast! The Bad: Food was very plain, every day at the lunch buffet, they offered the same thing, over and over. The meat, chicken, and pork were dry and lacked of flavor. In the restaurant, the menu contained choices that really didn't jump on your eye. Nothing interesting or tasty. We didn't get the chance to pick our time for dinner when booking the cruise. We requested it to be changed and never heard back. We didn't book it directly, but we registered on their website to pick some excursions. We never received any formal communication on the time of embarking and/or what to expect. We would have appreciated some details before hand. Two of our excursions were canceled due to the wind at a very last minute, and the "excursion desk" was closed for business. We couldn't find any alternatives. The data plan was a bust... again not entirely clear what you were getting. The drink plan was decent. But sparkling water nor water of any kind was included. As other reviewer said, you get what you pay for. The crew and social staff were wonderful, but because of the food and lack of communication we unfortunately won't go with Costa again. Read Less

We have sailed on 100+ cruises with 4 other cruises on Costa. We sailed on Costa Deliziosa on 12/19/18. This was a 7 nt cruise to Nassau, Gtand Turk, Amber Cove & Key West. Deliziosa is a beautiful ship, extremely clean and well organized. The staff provided excellent service. The food was generally very good. As on any ship, some nights were better than others. Very good pasta and pizza. Christmas Eve special dinner served in Albatross was excellent. Staff seemed happy to be of service. I had some special requests which were always accommodated. Music in most bars nightly. The Animation Team provided fun games, competitions and lots of laughs. They kept the cruise interesting for all ages. What impressed me most was the staff’s willingness to help and to go the extra step to make everyone happy. Something lacking in lots of other ships. I would recommend Deliziosa as a great cruise with an Italian flair. Read Less

We chose Costa as at the time RCL and NCL were already booked. Unfortunately we could not booked this cruise earlier in the year due to work schedule, etc. According to Costa website is “ Italy’s Finest “ with a slogan of providing every guest with a pleasant experience from our Italian heritage. We have to give kudos to the check in process, ship was clean and elegant, cabin was clean and comfortable with a balcony Now comes the best part : Buffet menu is the same items every single day. Getting a espresso coffee must be done at the bar, and wait in line for it. Getting eggs and bacon (who knows what kind of bacon it was ) it’s another story. By the time you search for the items you want, your food is cold. Of course you might think, why not visit the dining room and enjoy some delicious eggs Benedict! Well, we tried, Egg Benedicts with mayonnaise instead of hollandaise sauce. Waffles?? Imagine a piece of toast with the waffles mark on it and the same selection of items in the buffet just arrange differently, do you want a cup of Italian espresso? Please leave the dining room, find a bar and order it. Walk back to you seat and find your food cold. Or just have a cup of regular coffee and shut up Too much for Italian Costa Hospitality !!! Dining room for dinner - please do not ask for a cocktail before dinner , no no no. Go to the bar and order it. Walk back and seat down. This is not a joke, we had the drink package and the waitress the first dining night saw our cards and said “you are from the USA , you only get water “ wow welcome aboard !!!! Samsara Restaurant - €30 per person to book a more “exquisite dining “ experience. The restaurant is totally outdated. The ship is not However the menu was all seafood. My spouse is allergic to seafood. We asked for a different menu , they brought us the choices from the main dining room. We were ask for an extra €17 upcharge to get a steak. As I ordered the entrees, one of the was lamb chops. To my surprised they have been boiled then braised to give some chard to the meat. The taste ? Terrible. The pool area is very small for a 2500 passenger ship. Entertainment onboard is a bunch of crew members who has no talent and don’t want to do what they have been asked to do To recap, please take RCL or NCL even if the prices are higher. Better food and service, the crew will be more pleasant as they are not onboard a ship for 11 months at a time. Don’t waste your money ! Vacations are important and you work hard to enjoy them. DONT CRUISE WITH THEM!!! Customer service very poor, they didn't help you at all and give wrong advices, they treat us very bad when asked for some help. I puthink money in the account to pay for excursions for 2 cabin as they asked and then they took money from each account..and when I asked to take 500€ from 1500€ to give back the other family they said I can't take out any money until I disembark. ..but they treat us badly. Restaurant: food was horrible...but the worst was that after 9pm was no food...only pizza which we had to pay extra for it. Housekeeping: terrible...linen bed was never changed in a week and was very dirty...and I was with a baby so I had to stay in that misery. Beach towels was left wet on bed for 2 days ..I put them outside the door to be changed but was taken and never brought back new ones. We had to pay for everything on board ... The drinks was only but glass never by can or bottle.!!! I asked for iced coffe and I received a glass with ice and a expresso. I have more to say but most important DON'T CRUISE WITH THEM!!! I enjoy the opportunity to meet people from other countries and find out about their food and culture. Costa Deliziosa has a very diverse clientel from Europe and North America. All the staff we met spoke enough english to converse with. It's very humbling to realize how many people speak several languages and I only speak english. The ship was sparkling clean when we arrived and stayed that way all 10 days. We really enjoyed the entertainment. Lots of opportunity to learn new dance steps by the pool or in the grand bar.. The main shows consisted of very good acrobatics, Vegas style dancers and costumes and a couple of operah nights. We loved the diningroom for evening meals. We were given the 9:00 seating which we didn't think would work well for us. It actually worked very well. There were 4-6 courses each night and we found everything delicious. Many new tastes for us. It is designed to be slow dining and it is. The soups are exceptional in variety and taste. The waiters were know to break into dance routines occasionally giving the diningroom a carnival atmosphere. The buffet food was average with little change. We found it better for breakfast than the diningroom. We embarked early with no problems . It went quickly. We debarked early bringing our suitcases with us. It was superfast and easy. You need to let them know you are going early. Service was a little on the slow side but very good. Cabins were cleaned either once or twice daily, depending on what box you check on the form left in your cabin. We found a morning cleaning sufficient. We had asmall balcony cabin. Perfect for us with lots of storage spaces. It was too windy to use the balcony much except for early morning in port. I usually ended upstairs anyway so I could see both sides. Ports were as we expected with lots of time to explore. We did not do any of the ship excursions. We did rent a car in Roatan as the price was the same as a taxi. It was an adventure. Roads were like swiss cheese. We managed well and remember Roatan as our favourite wih great snorkling right off the beach in West Bay. We went to Geoff Cay in Belize with a private outfit . It was very good. In Cozumal, we went by Taxi to a private beach club. It was good but expensive for a few hours at the beach and we felt we didn"t really see the island. The announcements that you need to hear are in Englsh but may start with other languages first. Ahe range on this ship was 30-70. I would not hesitate to recommend this cruise to a friend who is looking for a slightly different expoerience than the typical American cruise. Read Less

To meet up with Italian friends this was the perfect venue. Every evening the shows were especially entertaining: the tenor Emanuele Servidio is world class, worth taking the cruise just to hear his voice. The shows had amazing singing, dancing, production & lighting. Max, the cruise director, is hilarious-he speaks all the languages as fast as an auctioneer! The animation team has so much fun that it is infectious. There’s plenty of dancing & music after dinner, piano bar. You need never be bored unless you choose to. The staff is very attentive, helpful, & genuinely seem to like what they do. I really enjoyed the contests & skits that the different departments presented on the final day at sea. The staff is multi-talented(bartender juggler, choreography by waiters in dining room, etc.) There were many well behaved children on board with organized activities. The excursions were good without being great. This cruise was the most fun of the 20 cruises I’ve taken. Read Less

Don't believe any bad reviews most of the complaints are from people who haven't cruised in a while and things have changed, not so much for free but this is the same on al cruises. We had such an exceptional cruise the only reason I couldn't give it a perfect score was there were a couple of tiny issues. 20 years ago we sailed on the Costa Victoria and loved it. This ship had an exceptional price and great itinerary. So we thought we would try Costa again. First of all the upgraded both ourselves and my parents to ocean view cabins. The cabins were huge with even sofas in them, my parents had an obscured view on the deck with the lifeboats but the size of all there windows made up for that. Italian is the main language on board so any announcements you had to wait for the english version. The mandatory lifeboat drill was fast and efficient so much better then many other cruises. The ship was elegant and so easy to get around. The meals in the dining room were excellent although a little strange as we are Canadian so not used to european flair. We could get water from machine all day. I brought "Monin" flavouring in my purse so just gave it a little squirt and had lovely cranberry or lemonade drink anytime. Make sure you sign up for the Cost club card before you go so you can get 25% off almost everything including the wine you order before you board. Also 50% off the specialty restaurants and some foods. Make sure you download the costa app so everyone can keep in touch with cell phones on board for free. Do not buy the internet plan, you can get the social media plan for $4 a day to keep in touch with people and keep it on all the time with unlimited picture sending, data and even facebook calling. Sign up on ship for that. We loved the 4 d theater it was fun and cheap with the card. The shows were 100% some of the best entertainment we have ever seen, you will not be disappointed! One night we were treated to a 1 hour mesmerizing performance from a world famous Opera singer. The next night he was sitting in front of us and I had to tell him how his performance was a lifetime experience for me. I have never heard and opera singer and his voice was incredible and it wasn't even in english. We loved all the private places to hang out, and we never felt crowded with all the people onboard. Lots of places to play cards. The spa was wonderful and quiet my mother and I spent the whole last day there while we were at sea. The pool area has a big dome that they can close at night or rainy days so that was great as our days were not the nicest. One thing we liked that anything you had to pay for was clearly marked on menus and on the schedule for the day, we didn't feel like we were hounded to spend our money. There are a few things we didn't care for: The main pool deck music was very noisy in the day time, we would pick an area away from the main pool area. No comedians, we knew there wouldn't be as not many english people but we did miss it, not the ships fault, just so you are aware. No free ice cream, but they did have by the pool that you could pay for. They messed up our wine order but after fixing it we ended up with 2 free bottles, so this ended well. Hamburgers at buffet were terrible but excellent in dining room. The breakfast service was nice to have buffet there as well but it was hit and miss with the food orders. Not the same waiter everyday they sat you as you came in. We would of like to see a larger selection of cruise wear in the shops. Port of calls: Do not go on the Evocative river cruise in Belize, it is a 2 hour speed boat tour with very little time to see animals, it was a cold day and would never have gone on it had we known. The only place to shop is Key West, every place else on the itinerary only had Mexican trinket stores. So get your shopping done there. We rented a taxi for $125 in Roatan for the whole day, he took us to the Sloth farm, Butterfly farm, waited to shop in a nice little beach area and took us for ice cream downtown. His name is Hector and he was wonderful. No need to book a private tour this was the best way to go. Admission to the 2 places were only about $10 each. Casa Maya is a waste of time to go into town unless you want to suntan on a beach. The only stores are trinket stores and there is a bunch of them right at the port with entertainment. Just stay there it is free. We did have fun going for a tram ride into town though but need to get a taxi back. Cayman island had a bit of shopping but mostly just surf shops. Cozumel looks like it might have some shopping but we were there on Sunday so half of the places were closed. Getting on and off the ship is easy, a bit slow getting off because of an arrest at immigration but once off Canadian passport holders were pushed through a fast lane with only a few people. I would definitely sail with Costa again but I will do an east coast cruise next time. Read Less

We chose this cruise cause we were told it was reasonably priced, It wasn't. " You get what you pay for. " Costa really nickel and dimes you. Costa really comes at a Cost a... We've been on many other cruise lines and that may be the reason why Costa fell very short of even comparing to all of our previous cruises. As a mature couple we expected more from a Cruise line. Staff throughout the whole ship was very limited. Misrepresenting their drink packages. Packages were not explained at all causing passengers to pay for more than they needed. eg. water was included in the wine packages and not told to people buying water packages... Juice drinks were timed and not dispensed after breakfast. Hard to find ice. Not all buffets were open at any time of the day. Short list of extras: Pizza after a certain hour. Ice cream. A la carte meals were extra and fell short of delivering what was promised. Unfortunately , We will not ever cruise with Costa again. Read Less

We have travelled on Costa Majica in the Mediterranean before and we had a fantastic trip. The food was excellent and the shows were magnificent. So with this in mind we thought why not book our Caribbean cruise with them as well on the Costa Delioza. Because it was it was the start to our month long trip to America for our Honeymoon and wedding in Vegas we decided to go all out and book a suite. (We are South African so the exchange rate for us is R14 for $1). So you can imaging this is a lifetime of saving for a trip of a lifetime. Our Cruise departed from Fort Lauderdale on 20 December 2017. First sign was when our departure was delayed till something like 2am in the morning because some passengers flight had been delayed. There went the excitement of the traditional harbour departure. We couldn't stay awake till that time. Boarding was simple and easy. On boarding we were greeted by a English hostess (we never saw her again on the boat for the full 7 days). That 1st night we went to dinning room reserved for the suites. The Maitre'D took the room card from my husband and looked at me and said and where do you come from as if to say I am not good enough for his restaurant. It was a great start to our dinning experience for the next 7 days. He then told us we would have to come back at 9pm because they were going to be doing the emergency drill. (We have cruised a bit and normally they announce a time for the drill so that you can plan your time around it.) Well we then went and waited in our room for the signal. We did the obligatorily drill and went back to the dinning room. By this stage I had sort of lost my appetite. Well I was expecting much better quality food but again it was the first night and we were still in Port. We woke up to an arrival in Nassau. We didn't book any tours as we prefer to do our own thing when getting off the boat and also we could not afford the prices of the tours. We spent the day with some other passengers we met disembarking. Having been there 17 years before we were shocked at the state of Nassau and how run down it was. It was like going to any market/shopping mall anywhere in the world. We left Nassau and some stupid passenger with high blood pressure decided to go diving (which is not recommended). We heard he died and that is why we had to go back to Nassau and not move on to the Grand Turks. These ships are supposed to have hospitals and morgues on board (my son works on a ship). Anyway this delay meant that we only had a half a day in the Grand Turks which we were so looking forward to. Before leaving (in fact months before) I booked online for the Samsara Restaurant. So off we went with our confirmation. We arrive there and got a very rude well we don't have a booking for you. So I showed her the paper and her reply was well that service online doesn't work you need to book on the ship. After much discussison they seated us at a table right next to the waiters entrance to kitchen. There went our romantic dinner. The food was also very mediocre and we could well have just eaten in our own dinning room. We had another medical emergency not far out of the Grand Turks and the boat once again had to do a u-turn. This luckily didn't effect our other stops. Well back to the over all service. The waiters had a shocking attitude and banged plates down in front of you. The food at the buffet was disgusting (slop). If you wanted a burger you had to pay extra, there was NO ice cream on the boat and you had to pay for pizza. These things have always been included previously. We could not find a bar man, waiter or Matire'D who could give advise on wines. The selection was also very poor. Well now onto the entertainment. It was SHOCKING except maybe if you where Italian. I understand it is an Italian liner but you are cruising in an English speaking part of the world. Adapt. Even on our Mediterean cruise the entertainment was our joy every night. The shows were what we looked forward to every night. There was one morning when our safe would not open and I phoned the customer services desk to ask them to come and open it. We needed our passports and wallets to get off the boat at Ambers Cove. I even phoned our butler. We sat in our room for 4 hours waiting. Only when I went down to the desk and made a scene about the overall service and the fact that some dead guy had ruined our trip to the Grand Turks was I quickly ushered to our room where they opened the safe. Now after such a complaint I would have expected them to send the English Speaking Hostess to us to understand our concerns but no she was no where to be found. That evening at dinner we did get an apology from the Maitre'D and from then on we were treated like any other diner in the restaurant. I am not sure if we looked too poor to be in the suite dinning room or maybe too young? Well we obviously where not good enough until I complained. So overall the staff looked miserable and as if they were just dragging themselves through the day. A couple of the staff told us that they had just had their salaries dropped (can you imagine just before Christmas) and their bonus was a $10 calling card so they could call home for Christmas. Apparently some of the them where at threat of loosing their positions. They are taking the butler service away from the Suites. So I assume they will then lower their fees. Costa will not be seeing us again! Thanks for ruining a trip of a lifetime you sure as hell made it an overall disaster. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of the date, ports of call, and number of days. 99% of the people on board, were from Europe, and did not speak English, or very broken English. The food, which I enjoy very much on cruises, was Terrible. The selections were extremely small. I found European people to be very rude and inconsiderate. Early in the morning people were slamming doors, and moving balcony table and chairs. Most every announcements, were spoken in Italian, French, German, and Spanish. English was very limited. One night I pulled the bed sheets down, and found bodily fluid stains, an blood stains on my sheets. I had called the cabin clerk and showed him the sheets, and he told me, it was from the laundry detergent. Other then my stained sheets, the ship was pretty clean. Obviously, the casino crew was very friendly and courteous. The only good thing is, I'll never go on a Costa cruise again! Read Less

My mother and I (20-year-old daughter) were traveling for the first time on a cruise - but with that said we have been traveling around the world since I was born; which of course mean that we have seen and experienced quite a lot and therefore are a bit critical about our surroundings and vacations. We are VERY shocked to see so many critical and harsh reviews here on this site. Really, it is so unexpected. Well let’s start our review on this amazing vacation! Surroundings: From the second you step in at Costa Deliziosa you immediately get goosebumps. The atmosphere is incredible! Not only are you welcomed with the most smiling, accommodating (and well dressed) crew members, but also a multitude of delicious, beautiful, and luscious environment. Everything (and everyone) had this amazing attitude and charisma – and you would not be able to keep yourself from smiling and feeling exciting. From the first second, we sat food on Costa Deliziosa, we were so thrilled and loved it instantly! They have without a doubt thought about everything, to every single detail. Every deck has it own charm and impression. From the huge globe on the main deck (deck 2), the external elevators, to the carvings, the decorations and colors – everything is created to make their guests drop their jaws. Cabin: As a middleclass cabin, we could not expect more or less. It is very cozy and it is not a place you are ashamed to call your temporary home. There is everything you need and there is always very clean and nice – without any exception. The beds might not be the softest, but it is not a metal bed! Dinning: There is a lot of different opportunities to satisfy your hunger – also if you are picky as my mother and I. You can choose for yourself where you would like to eat, there is a lot of different restaurants. There is buffet where you have a huge variety of food in morning and at lunch (deck 9), and there is the classic restaurant style where the waiter will come to the table for requests. Even though there is some restaurants you have to pay for, (unless you have some special package), there is still a lot of variety of opportunities. At dinner there is not a very big variety at the buffet – but it should still be satisfying for the most. The food (especially breakfast) is of great quality, is very viand and there is a huge variety to satisfy your hunger no matter what kind of food you like. High praise to the absolutely delicious bread and their huge variety of desserts (changes every day). The only negative thing (yes, we still have to be critical at some points, right?) ice cream should be included in the dessert standers and you should not be paying for it. Pizza should also be included in the evening (not only at lunch). The variety at the buffet should be bigger at night. Entertainment: It is differently your own fault if you are bored aboard a cruise. Deliziosa offers a lot of different entertainment all day and all night. The animation team make sure that there are games, dance and sport all day and creates some funny activities at night for the different theme nights. If you would rather relax at the pool(s) or get some tan, there a plenty of opportunities for this as well. Deck 11 is the best place for tanning, it is not as crowded, there is a lot of space and it is also a bit cooler up there. It is very important to remember a lot of different night gowns and suits – of course if you want to blend it at the different themes, if not do not worry – you are still more than welcome. The themes at our cruise were: 70’s night, 80’s night, Gala, Caribbean night, Italian night, masquerade – just to name a few.) Again, it is really your own fault if you are bored. There is so many places to see and be on at cruise. Do yourself a favor and explore it all! There is many cafés, bars, shopping, fitness, spa, and discotheque. Every night there is also some performance in the theater with the best dancers and singers ever seen. They are incredible (and very beautiful/handsome – that should be enough to make you want to go!). Such a beautiful and creative scenery that chances every night. Simply amazing! Crew members: I just read a pretty nasty review from the same time as we were on the ship – saying the crew was unfriendly. It made me really angry. The person has to be very negative and not very outgoing. I think I had to reply to a greeting thousand of times a day! Everyone was so friendly, smiling and extremely kind. Everyone had a big heart and everyone wanted to speak with us. Many of them knew us by name after the first day. From the moment, you step onto the cruise, you are greeted with the sweetest, helpful and amusing crew. I would really like to thank them all, and it is very heart breaking that I cannot remember all of the names. All the gentlemen from the animation team were the sweetest and differently made our stay even greater and for sure unforgettable. They have to be highly praised for their humor, entertainment skills and the way they always made sure that everyone had a blast. Simply genius. My mother is really not a person that likes to dance, be on a stage or like to get involved in the entertainment – but they manage to do so! And she loved it. A huge, special thanks to the gentlemen of the animation team (especially Agusto and Michéle), our so sweet and lovely cabin steward Ade, all the waiters from deck 9 (especially my dear waiter with the glasses from the Philippines and the head waiter/manager, sorry dear we cannot remember your names), the photographers, Larisa and Alvaro. In general we would love to thank ALL OF THE COSTA DELIZIOSA CREW for making our vacation so unforgettable. Every one of you should get this high praise for being so accommodating and forthcoming. There is NOT A SINGLE bad thing to put on the crew members! You have become our second family and we miss you all (and everything) so badly – which is why we already have booked a new costa cruise! Another thing that strikes me in some of the reviews is that you should not book at this company if you do not speak Italian. My mother and I are from Denmark and does not speak a word Italian. We did just fine with our English. Everyone understood us perfectly and with that said everyone might have learned Italian (it is a Italian company, so why blame them?) the crew members came from all over the world: Germany, Spain, Italian, Brazil, Mauritius, Philippines, India, Peru, Indonesia, South Africa and much more! That is many different nationalities and ALL of them speak just fine English! Ports: Fort Lauderdale (& Quality Inn & suites) If you have some spare time before or after the cruise, there is differently a lot of things to see in Fort Lauderdale. Like the Everglades and there should be a lot of shopping as well (We did not had so much time to explore it all). Miami should be even greater to explore. We had one night at Quality Inn & Suites which is a fine hotel for a night or few. The breakfast is good (not as great as the Cruise’s but there is enough variety to satisfy your hunger). Very soft beds and clean rooms. It is very close to the Port Everglades and there is a free shuffle bus to the Cruise Terminal. It is recommended if you should have a night in Fort Lauderdale before boarding the cruise. Bahamas - Nassau, Dominicans republic - Amber Cove, Jamaica - Ocho Rios, Cayman Islands - George Town, Honduras - Roaten, Mexico - Cozumel/Playa del Carmen: There is not many activities on the different islands but browse around the excursions papers in your cabin and you will get to know what there is to see, but be aware the prices is pretty expensive, and you can do it cheaper yourself (still many money you have to spend, but again, it is cheaper to do it by yourself and the taxis and tour excursions is there as soon as you go ashore). We differently recommend swimming with stingrays and visit the Dunn River Falls (very beautiful scenery!). If you have not tried to swim with dolphins, it is differently a thing to do as well! My mother and I have tried it a few years back so we did not do it again, but many recommend it! They are really sweet animals! The islands have many beautiful scenery, nature and beaches – and if you want to do shopping that is not survivors do not bother to try on the islands you visit. There is really not much to come for. If you want to do some hardcore shopping, you should differently pay a visit at Playa Del Carmen, when you come to Cozumel. There is a like never-ending shopping street and it only takes 30 minutes from Cozumel to Playa Del Carmen with boat and it is cheap. If you are traveling with some anti-shoppers, put them on the beach – it is simply amazing! And plenty of restaurants as well! We differently recommend Costa (and this route) to everyone! Keep going! It was not overly expensive, and went to ports we hadn't been to before. The food was terrible everything was oily. The drink package we purchased did not match what they said we had. The crew was very unfriendly to Americans and was all for the Italians and we were made to feel like second class passengers. The Captain would walk right by and wouldn't even say hello. On the website they talk about the Grand Prix simulator but it never worked during our whole cruise. I would never take a Costa Cruise again.Americans were excluded from certain activities because we only speak ENGLISH.The beverage package online said it included bottled water, but after we were onboard ,we were told americans could only have water by the glass!! Bottled beer was not available for us either. IF YOU ARE BOOKED ON THIS SHIP CANCEL IT!!!! Our disembarkment was the only thing they got right........ Read Less

I chose this cruise for my family because the price was good for a New Year Cruise and my parents had had a great experience on Costa 10 years! Well, they have a different opinion now! They charge for everything! After 10am, you cannot find coffee onboard unless you pay for it! (I have to say the quality of the coffee is excellent). You should see my 72 year old mom rushing from her room in the morning, so she would not have to buy coffee! They serve microwaved food! Its actually written on the menu; There are also items on the general dining room menu that come at a price (no lobster for you, unless you pay for it of course). There is a fresh pizza service by the buffet area, but of course, you have to pay for it. (No children's menu really in the restaurants, certainly no pizza or chicken fingers) Service in the dining room takes forever, the waiters obviously overwhelmed! Even in the paying restaurant we went to for our anniversary, service was very slow and the food disappointing. Room service (food) is just a mess! Lines at the buffet are horrendous! Instructions were not clear on how to get out of the ship one morning at a port! So passengers kept being sent from one exit to the next, until finally one of them took pity on us (we were quite a crowd by then, 25 to 30 passengers) and accompanied us where we needed to go. Our room steward was great and helpful! Dessert was just amazing (the pastry chef had not yet quit obviously). I WILL NOT EVER TAKE COSTA AGAIN! Read Less

This cruise took us to Cozumel, Belize, Honduras and Grand Cayman. There was no description above that fit it perfectly. The cabin was spacious and allowed us to put all our things away and store the luggage under the bed. The beds were hard, the pillows thin and not at all comfortable. It took three trips to customer service and two days to get the twin beds that we had requested instead of the king size and to get the broken door handle on the balcony door fixed. The customer service staff were rude, and not at all helpful. We had a bottle of wine each which they took when we boarded and told us they would be delivered to our room. Three trips to the service desk later, we found out the day before we arrived back in Ft. Lauderdale that we could not have them until we left the ship. We had a drink package that covered draft beer, wine, cocktails and special coffee drinks but we had to pay for a bottle of water or orange juice. The food was awful. The breakfast/lunch menus were the same day after day and the trays of meat and cheese etc. were not replenished in a timely manner. The dinners were lovely to look at but absolutely tasteless and we can not say that we enjoyed a single meal. An example is the lobster bisque on Christmas eve; it was a brown fishy smelling broth that after one taste, no one would eat it. The prawns were warm instead of chilled, the lobster dry and overcooked and the beef was tough. The desserts were good, as was the bread, but I did not go on a cruise to survive on bread and dessert. There were almost no english speaking people aboard as it was a repositioning cruise before we boarded in Ft. Lauderdale. The servers at the bars, around the pool and the dining room were lovely, but the rest of the crew were arrogant and unhelpful. I almost got knocked over by one of the officers and he did not even say he was sorry or an excuse me. The day trip we took from Belize to Zip Line and Tube in the Crystal Caves was outstanding. It was great value for money and the staff were fabulous. The Folklore Trip from Cozumel was also quite enjoyable, The entertainersd were very good as well. We really enjoyed the shows. Altogether we made eight trips to the Service Desk and the last time to get help with the internet. The gal grabbed my phone worked it and then handed it back to me while rolling her eyes with no help with how I accessed it myself. My sister asked her if she actually liked her job, bercause you sure couildn't tell it from how she treated people, I will never ever go on another Costa cruise. It was a huge dissappointment and a waste of the vacation days.. Read Less

Let's just begin with Language, they don't speak ENGLISH even in announcements... The price you pay is only and only for the room. You have to pay for Water, activities, restaurant food, etc.. Okay, let's say you pay at the Restaurant and buy water, but the waiters are so STUPID that it takes them a legit 30mins. to awknowledge that 11 guests are in need of a basic Human Need: Water.. The rooms and room Service for okay; adjusting stable for 8days. But they were making fun of Indians in there language and laughing along at dance hall (Deck 2) ... The workers there were the worst behavior, they have so much attitude and are careless of anyone. They don't care about anyone, and they talk with us and say yeah we'll bring water and food and we are sitting there for 2.5hrs with NOTHING... never go on costa NEVER Read Less
