The price, the ports, the all inclusive package and the fact that we could stay on in corfu all lead us to pick this cruise. The ship was beautiful, and easy to find our way around. We had balcony cabins which were great, and our steward was very attentive and looked after our needs. We ate alot in the mdr, including the Italian option upstairs and service was excellent as was the food. Many times we ordered a number of starters to be able to sample different dishes, portions were not huge which suited us well. We had an issue one night with our table and did not feel it was handled well however we gave feedback and the dining room manager listened to us and apologized profusely.we also ate at the tapas restaurant in the glass house on 2 occasions and this was a very good experience, much quieter than the mdr but still waiter service. Captain Chris was from Manchester and it was very entertaining listening to his announcements! A real character!! We did the ship transfer to Rome which was straight forward. Naples was chaotic but we headed up to castle st Elmo and escaped the madness. Messina has an amazing clock tower both inside and out, be there at 11.30 to go inside before the display starts at 12. Valetta was our favourite place, we enjoyed the British quirks around the town, even a George clothes shop!! very easy to do on foot. Taranto- was a great disappointment. Nothing to see there, not even a coffee shop...definitely do a trip out of town if you go to this port. We stayed on in corfu at hotels bono, highly recommended. Lovely hotel, supermarket nearby and buses around the island were very good. No sandy beaches was a disappointment, kassiopi was our favourite place. Read Less

I travelled around Italy , for my 60th birthday on 12th of October 2015, on the Majesty cruise ship, with 4 friends, what a birthday holiday I had, its my first crusie & hopefully not my last.1 complaint & its not the captains fault , the weather it was not on our side am afraid. Other than that we had a fanfastic time, nothing was to much trouble all staff was so friendly , our cabin crew who I must give a mention was Tatiani & Esti, was just lovey girls , I woke up on my birthday to find a lovely message on our door asking me to have a lovely birthday & balloons were on my door, it made me feel so special.we had our evening meals in the restaurant with all staff very friendly , they always made us feel welcome & asked us how our day was, food was excellent , many nights the waiters would sing &get everyone singing along .The shows on a evenings are a must all dance troupe were fabulous singers & dancers & got everyone involved with singing & clapping.. My birthday night was in the bistro which we paid £19.99 pp , the food was lovely & staff just a lovely, at the end of my meal a waiter came with a birthday cake & another waiter played a guitar & had everyone sing happy birthday to me..one very happy lady. We didn't like being bombard with photographer, s all the time & it cost a fortune to buy them although we did get some as I want to have them as a momentum. Sadly the weather wasn't on our side & saw very little sun, Venice was just wonderfull & hope to go back. Ive read a review from someone whos been on the same cruise ( same time as us) & mentioned that there was loud music & could be heard in the cabin I can honestly say we never heard a thing.. Hats off to all the crew for making our holiday a very happy one.. keep up the good work & hope to see you all soon... Read Less

We have just returned from our 2 week cruise first week was Adriatic Charms and second Italian Job this was our first cruise unfortunately our weather was not on our side sea was rough and couldnt sleep eat or relax due to ship rocking ,not good if you dont like water like me I was terrified some people it didnt bother them ,on saying that staff were fantastic waiters Matt Ricky,Alilibo, and Marlon they couldnt do enough for us they even sang to us on the night of our blessing at sea and made cards for us ,we would also like to mention Lorna who did all the arranging for our blessing she was fantastic and lovely she made our time very special, also our cabin stewards Jessica and Charlie, our cabin was an outside plus on 6th floor would recommend plenty of room .we were very disappointed with our port stop in Duress it was horrible smelly dirty beach covered in rubbish felt like a war zone went right back on board ship why Thomsons made this a stop will never no not ready for tourism never will be .during calls to port you had to stand about in que s all the time got fed up with it .entertainment was ok nothing great ,plenty of good food you wont be hungry, excursions were expensive ,I am sorry to say wont cruise again due to rough seas not for me and my hubby, but cannot fault ship and staff for any of that, its just a personal thing. I have just returned from this cruise with my parents and 2 younger brothers and just wanted to write a review to describe how absolutely brilliant it was!!! I read a lot of negative reviews before going and it worried me a lot as my whole family were so excited and this was our first cruise. Corfu is a lovely place and the flight there/check in to the cruise was all very smooth and pleasant. Our bags were waiting for us at our cabin doors and our cabin, an outside plus on deck 3, was a lovely room. I'd definitely recommend getting a plus cabin as the regular ones are quite small (my dad and brother had this) but they are still workable. Deck 3 was nice and quiet and out the way but still just a short lift ride to all the bars/restaurants. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing all week and we couldn't stop eating and drinking! We've had some bad experiences with all inclusives in the past but this was far superior. For breakfast we used the buffets and egg/pancake station and the buffet again for lunch which was all fresh and very tasty. We dined in both of the waiter service restaurants on an evening and the food and waiters were excellent, the little show in the seven seas that the waiters perform is worth a watch!! The cocktails are all really nice as is this lager. We had the drinks package and found this good value for how much we drank! My youngest brother went to the kids club everyday 3-4.30 and 7-9 which gave us a nice break and he absolutely loved it, they kept the kids thoroughly entertained. Aside from this he played constantly in the pool which was very safe and there was lots of children to play with. All the staff are so lovely and friendly, the cleaners are so attentive and see to the rooms twice a day. Everyone was always smiley and friendly! The entertainment team are brilliant and keep you entertained all day long with quizzes, games, shows ect. The only 1 complaint we could make, as minor as it is, was selfish people claiming sun beds and going offshore!!! This was very annoying, sometimes we watched sun beds left unattended for up to 4 hours!!! But this happens in every single resort and we still managed to get a seat near the pool everyday! We didn't do any of the excursions off shore, we had a walk around some places but we enjoyed the boat too much and didn't want to leave, this was more of a relaxing holiday for us. As for cruising, this was an amazing first cruise and we could all barely fault it!!! We will definitely be returning. Majority of the negative reviews are people used to a more formal affair which we wouldn't have enjoyed!! So take no notice and go with an open mind because this is an amazing holiday :) Read Less

Hi everyone I would just like to give everyone a heads up on the drinks package and also the excursions. We sailed on the 3rd of July on the Italian Flavors cruise there were alot of flaws, alot of this blame goes to our travel agent. First of all we were told we would get a room with a window with no obstructed view we also requested a double bed none of this met as there was a big orange life boat on the window with only a small view of the sea and also the room was tiny with 2 single beds so already off to a bad start. We sat for a few minutes then went off to find a bar as we were dieing for a Jack Daniels, we went to the top deck to get a drink poolside, we looked at the bar menu and couldn't believe our eyes (I have included photos of the full Bar Menu which is the same in every lounge/bar) We paid £200 each for the drinks package and were told that EVERYTHING was included Water, Cans of cola, All branded spirits So we were very dissapointed when we learned you had to pay for a bottle of water, Cans of juice even cranberry juice and all cocktails including cranberry juice and what hurt most of all the Jack Daniels! As the holiday went on though we had tried almost every drink on the package and some that weren't as you can get them at a discounted price. The drinks are nice some of my favourites are the Mojito, Mambo, Cafe Frappe and Tequila Bum Bum which is a shot. You also get a Cocktail of the day which is free if your on the drinks package and it usually included one which you would normally need to pay extra for so thats good. We added up all out receipts when we were home and were glad to find we would have spent £540 if we didn't have the drinks package. Overall it is worth it but just a bit of a shock to learn alot of it was extra! Now to the excursions, We asked our travel agent if we would need to pay for them she said 'Just some of them, Yes' but before we went we did do some research and picked which ones we would be doing it cost us £525 in total for 2 people to do - Blue Grotto in Malta, Erice in Trapani, Rome, Pompeii and Godfather tour in Messina which were all brilliant and I would recommend them but also be warned there is ALOT of walking and I mean for hours. The actual cruise ship is OK and worth it for £1500 for us both including drinks, its a little dated and when you get used to it it is quite small but there are lots of lounges and bars to choose from and the entertainment is ok. there are a few restaurants 2 of them are self service and the food is honestly not great we would sometimes wait to 11 oclock at night because that's when they do burgers and hotdogs. They sometimes have themed nights like Indian but the currys are rank and the lamb is like rubber. They were trying to pass of tatty scones as nan bread! and the black pudding is inedible. If you want to go and get some more posher food from the menu restaurants you do have to sit with strangers usually 6 to a table which I personally find awkward the food is decent though. Its mostly Philippines, Polish and Russians who work on the boat they are all really great though and couldn't do enough for you, You never need to go to the bar they just serve you all night at your table and your never sitting without a drink. A couple of other things - * I recommend taking your card as everything is charged to your onboard account they don't deal with cash. You need to put a £400 deposit down for things like excursions, Room service, Drinks ect. * The pools are tiny you could probably fit about 12 people in them * Everytime you go to use toilet there will probably be someone in cleaning it I don't know why but they clean the toilet every 10 minutes and usually lock the door while there doing it * If its your first time on a cruise like myself don't underestimate sea sickness and get some tablets straight away I could feel the boat moving about 70% of the time * If your going on Italian Flavours Sicily is much nicer than Italy and so are the people. watch your time on the tours if your having something to eat because the waiters can be very slow. The shopping is also garbage. * On the drinks menu the drinks marked with * are the ones you pay extra for and the price next to that is the price you pay if you don't have the package. Thanks for reading my review I have tried to be as honest as possible and include as much as I can think of. Read Less

I booked this cruise with Thomson Cruises from June 5th - June 12th 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ship was immaculate and infection control was in place at the toilet areas by using anti-bacterial gel provided. Hand gel was compulsory before entering restaurants and administered by ship staff. The food was fantastic and in abundance from morning to night. The cabin was adequate and cleaned frequently throughout the day. Sleep quality was good and the bed comfortable. The ship staff were efficient, polite and very friendly. Entertainment was very good and enjoyable, but you had to be early before the shows, to get a seat. The cruise itinerary of ports of call were excellent and plenty of time was allowed to go ashore sight-seeing. The cruise itself was very smooth and not once did I find the ship sway or move suddenly. In fact, I did not feel the ship docking whilst still in bed early morning. The only thing I found was that no cash was taken on-board at the bars and I had to open an account in sterling linked to my bank card. Not a problem but I had taken euros in cash and a cashpassport card loaded with euros. However, I was able to spend the euros on shore and what I did not spend, transferred them back again to my bank account to cover the bill on board ship. You could open a cash account in euros which was converted into sterling and a cash account in sterling by placing a deposit of £200.00 which you would have to top-up if spending over £200.00. So it was far easier to open an account by bank card and then you were billed in three separate payments throughout the cruise. To sum up, an excellent experience and cruise. Highly recommended !! Our Adriatic Explorer/ Italian Flavours Cruise on Majesty 13-27th June 2014 was our first on Majesty and 14th Thomson cruise in 5 years. Our flight and transfer in Corfu were fast and efficient, but we were concerned to see long queues outside the Departures entrance to the airport. Two weeks later we were in such a queue for three-quarters of an hour, in sweltering heat, This airport is to be avoided!! The vessel is the newest in the fleet and has recently had some superb refurbishment to the Piazzo San Marco self-service restaurant and the addition of some cabin balconies. The ship was permanently cold but fortunately the aircon/heating in our small but cosy outside cabin on deck 4 was very efficient. The food was well below the standards previously experienced with Thomson with reduced menus, less sophisticated dishes, all presented cool/warm. Drinks service was slow and we were over-charged a full bottle of wine, which took time to remedy with Reception. Ice Cream (frozen yogurt?) - once freely available - can now only be obtained in the waiter-service restaurants or at the sales kiosk. The weather was variable, which Thomson can’t control, but with high winds developing they should have secured deck furniture before a sun-lounger blew down from sun-deck to pool-deck, injuring a passenger who required medical attention. As ever on sea days it was difficult to find a sun-bed and the policy of non-reserving was not effectively policed. The entertainment from Muzzik Unlimited and the Show Team was superb. Wi-fi is expensive onboard but we found it freely available in most ports. We found the first week excursions expensively lack-lustre and made our own arrangements during the second week The Captain made the briefest of announcements and appearances. I think we need to try another cruise company!!   Read Less

This is our second cruise with Thomson having previously sailed on the "Dream" so we had a good idea of what to expect. We were late arriving in the evening and missed evening meal in the main restaurants but embarkation and setting up credit went smoothly so we were able to relax and have a drink before finding the restaurant open on top deck for a nice snack/supper. We have sailed in an outside cabin before but don't see much benefit in having the window so we chose inside (again). The cabin was a little on the small side but adequate and suitable for our means and kept spotlessly clean and tidy by the staff. The staff cleverly made towel decorations for the cabin each day and you had a chocolate waiting on your pillow. Television reception wasn't too bad but hardly had it on although I did watch a film (Saving Mr Banks) on one of the days I was keeping out of the sun - there are few places in which to escape the sun on deck and they soon get taken. My wife was glad she took her own hair dryer. Overall the food was excellent and you couldn't possibly go hungry as you were spoilt for choice each day for every meal. There was something for everyone and the six of us in our party could only complain about our clothes shrinking. I liked the cooked breakfast but my wife went for the selection of fruits, yoghurt and rabbit food. Again a good choice for lunch although the Seven Seas main restaurant doesn't open every day (not a problem) and there are plenty of healthier options which I chose to ignore. Evening meal is waiter service in the main restaurants and the waiters were kind enough to reserve a table for us in the naughty corner for the same time each evening in the Seven Seas. Menu's gave a good selection and as an alternative you could pay an extra £10 and have a T Bone/Rib Eye steak or King Prawn on skewers which we went for on the last night. Service was excellent and we would like to thank Roland and Poirot for making it a pleasurable dining experience. This was, no doubt, helped by the lovely Niki who kept the wine topped up for us. We found the red wine served at dinner very palatable but found it is exclusively produced for Thomson Cruising. We didn't feel the need to try the A la Carte restaurant so can't comment. Having been on a Thomson cruise before we new the entertainment would be good but this was excellent. The entertainment team done a brilliant job and they were so talented you would think you were in the West End - the shows were first class. In the last two evenings they deservedly received standing ovations for their rendition of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and their West End theatre tribute. Also the comedian, Maurice Grumbleweed, was also brilliant - his first show had us in tears. There was also entertainment up on deck during the day and the resident band were very good. There were also talented classical artists performing in the lounges if you fancied something more relaxing. If you're a party animal the nightclub/disco also looked a lot of fun and went on until the early hours after the shows had finished. The six of us in our party thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we are now looking forward to the next Thomson cruise.   Read Less

This was our first cruise, but the couple we went with have sailed numerous times, when we came out of check in , there was the ship , and she looked lovely. First impressions when we boarded was that they were very keen on using hand sanitiser, we were then directed to our cabin where our cases were waiting for us. The cabin was an outside plus, we asked for a double when we got in the cabin it was two singles, after talking to the cabin crew they soon changed it around. As I said we went with another couple, our favourite restaurant was the four seasons, we. Did try the seven seas but found the four seasons more friendly, and as we went there most night the staff kept our table for use, the service from the food and wine waiters were second to none. As far as the entertainment goes, it was brilliant, we went to every gig, those kids were great, and Kate the entertainment director was also brilliant. The "on board group " we're very good could listen to them all day. At the bars and lounge during the shows , The service from the waiters/waitresses was wonderful they were like eagles, looking to see if your glass was empty, the bar staff were brill, the ones that shone were Sam, Victor . My only bad comment and it's a very small one, is there was a bit of an atmosphere between the Ukrainians and the Philippine staff. The Captains Gala, was very processed, having to go through 3 lots of photo shoots, getting a glass of sparkling wine, did it once won't do it next time, but is a must for first time. The great thing about it , it's very British, and that is meant in a great way. Ie not American We had a meal in the "a la carte " restaurant, on the penultimate night, OMG that was well worth spending the £19.00 surplus per person. Look forward to seeing the Majesty next year.   Read Less

Have just returned from the Italian Flavours cruise. Arrived at Corfu airport to find it is still as desperate as ever, never mind, Thomson people there to sort passengers onto the coaches.(Unlike Gatwick where there was not a Thomson rep to be seen, cost cutting!) Arrived at the ship and were quickly processed and on board. Our cases beat us to our cabin, much quicker than other Thomson ships we have been on. We had pre booked an outside plus cabin on deck 6, big mistake. Cabin 612 is above the piano bar, not much noise you would think but the pianist would sing, play guitar and the harmonica through a very loud microphone, till 1am every morning. He may as well have been in the cabin with us, the din was terrible. I complained to reception and they offered us ear plugs, there were no spare cabins. We had booked on some trips and they were all morning starts, 7.45, 8.00, and 9.00, for two of them we had to get up at 6.15am. By the end of the week we were exhausted. The food was good in the Seven Sea's etc but we did use the Bistro Restaurant one night for a £20 supplement per person. This was very good but I thought the price a little high. Entertainment wise it was fantastic, the show team was the best we have ever seen, worthy of one of the big cruise lines. It was the usual scramble for a seat but it was worth the effort. Also the resident band Music Unlimited were excellent particularly the female singer, forget the X Factor, she would beat them all hands down. The crew were very good, more attentive than the Dream, nearly as good as the old Destiny. On board were the usual" towels on the sun bed gang," 7.00am, some of them, but you have to get used to that I suppose. All in all we enjoyed the cruise, the trips were good, condition of the ship is good, cabins good for size, and all crew were brilliant! Such a shame we were so tired most of week!!!! Read Less

We sailed on the Flavours of Italy cruise on 25 October. The boarding was qucik and simple and contary to another report we were able to use our boarding card immediatley and enjoyed a much needed beer after being shown to our cabin. We had never cruised before and were very excited, the ship although dwarfed by the much larger ones in port was big enough to still get lost on even after a week. The staff were excellent from the waiters in the restaurant, the cabin stewards, waiters and everyone else. They work extremly hard and are only too happy to help. Would we cruise again yes but not as a main holida, not quite my type of holiday, I prefer lounging on a sunbed as other reviews state this is not possible. Beds are reserved all day with no one coming back to them and no one policing this. We stayed on board when the ship docked in Malta got two excellent beds but left them to go for lunch. When we returned we had to look for two more although not as good as the first they were ok. What happened then, someone came and put their bed directly at the foot of mine so that I could not lay full lenghth and also meant that I was now in the gangway. Despite waiters and staff having to step over they never asked the person in front to move!!! All though the food was excellent, the cabin accomadation is basic pretty much like being in a caravan. So when everyone had advised us that cruising was luxurious and we wouldn't go back to hotel holidaying I have to say this is not the case for us. I know you only sleep in your accomadation but a luxurious room adds to your holiday enjoyment. We had a cabin on the deck below the sun deck which was very noisy when they had the party nights. There does not appear to be any sound proofing. The staff in the Seven Seas Restaurant and the Royal Observatory bar deserve a special mention as they were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Read Less

Went on Majesty mid September and do not understand the bad reviews I read prior. Yes, it's a small ship but you know that when you book and we found this to be an advantage as you get to know other cruisers. The service was great from everyone and the food was very good with plenty of choices (could have been hotter in buffet area) and there were two 'any time' dining restaurants to go to. We two had a Standard cabin (924) which could have been for 4 people(would be very cramped) and the maid service was excellent. We had the '£69 pp drinks package' which I would advise everyone to get, if possible - saved us a fortune. The entertainment was the best we have ever seen on a cruise - absolutely superb singers and dancing group and singer/comedian. The only thing we found disappointing were the excursions which we think were very expensive for what we got. Rome -£79 We know you have to queue for The Vatican (2hrs.) but our coach kept us waiting for 45mins. after, so we only got a very short time at the Colosseum then on to Pantheon where we were for far too long. Also trip to Capri (£54) wasn't too good - once there we walked for 15-20 mins to look at the view, we were then left for 4hrs. with nothing very much to do until returning on boat. I did get a 20% refund for this trip. The sail back to Corfu was good and for disembarkation we were given 11.45 timeslot where we lazed on a sunbed on deck waiting to get the coach to our hotel in Corfu for a further week at the superb Louis Corcyra Hotel.
