I got on the discovery 2 at Corfu and got of there as well. I was on the ship for a week and the destinations are lovely Santorini and Rhodes have to be my favourite. The cruise is really good the activity's for kids are a climbing wall a mini golf 9 holes 2 swimming pools one inside and one outside also there is a games room called hideout for the children to chill out and play on the Xbox and the football table. The entertainment is fantastic with 4 different venues to choose from and they have a casino. the bars were clean and sold a verity of alcohols from shots to beer to cocktails. the crew are so friendly saying hello and always ready to help really good custom. The sail away party was absolutely fantastic with live performances from DJ Tomas and a band that I cant remember there name and a flag parade to see were parts of the crew come from. definitely arrange with TUI they are stars amazing job Read Less

This was actually an ADRIATIC cruise, which we booked because we wanted to see the Adriatic Coast, and especially Croatia, but didn't want to spend a week at the destinations. We were blown away by the incredible value of a Thomson Cruise. We had never cruised before, but always assumed it was a little cliche and camp, and probably full of blue rinse people quaffing cheap champagne, poor quality all-you-can-eat food and terrible cabaret entertainment. In fact, this was far from the truth. The entertainment was of a high standard and exceptionally varied; ranging from high London Quality theatrical productions and musicals each night in the large theatre, a wide array of decent musicians playing music from most genres, a cabaret area, discos, themed and cabaret entertainment like Quiz and Karaoke, if you wanted it (we didn't), and a fantastic Kids' Club. We didn't want to put our daughter into Kids Club initially, but she had other ideas by day 3 when she'd made friends and was desperate to join the ranks of the other children. She was desperate to spend her evenings with the other children doing the varied fun activities, which meant that we had quality time together as a couple to enjoy fine dining and bands, or a show. It was a real treat. As a parent of a teenagers (who didn't come with us) I was also really impressed by the teen club. This was aimed more at the 15-18 group, but I ofen feel this group is very under catered to. Their activities and games reminded me of slightly more tame versions of club 18-30s entertainment, but definitely hit the right note with the teens, and was also amusing for the adults to watch. The excursions were all brilliant, and they ensured that they graded each one for activity level, adventure, etc, which was really useful as we like to be active, and so we avoided the ones that were too inactive. They also ensured that people who booked excursions got the earliest boats ashore, and maximised shore time when they didn't have a gangway-so it's worth booking with Thomson to ensure that you make the most of your restricted shore time. We upgraded to the drinks package, which gave us all inclusive drinks. This was useful for my partner, who enjoys a drink without suffering too much the next day, but I cannot cope with a drinking session followed by an early morning, so I think my use of it was more limited. The food was brilliant... Although the queuing system in the Lido Restaurant was terrible, and could benefit from separating the queues for different sections of the restaurant, rather than one epic queue for everything. There was a wide array of dining options including a lovey a la Carte Asian fusion, another a la carte with a tasting menu, and a hot stone restaurant where you could eat a steak that you cooked at the table. We ate Surf and turf at the latter two-highly recommended. There were three standard inclusive restaurants, two were buffets: the Lido & Sirens (although Sirens wasn't open for dinner) and the other; Orions, was a waiter service restaurant, which was our preference of the three, unless you were in a hurry. There were two pool areas on the ship. The one of the top of the ship in the Centre was meant to be the adult only pool, but seemed to be family friendly too by day. It was definitely the livelier pool, and had live music by day and a dedicated super comfy looking sun longer deck above at the rear which we didn't spot until a few days before the end of the cruise. The one at the aft of the ship, which in my opinion was nicer, was the intended family pool. The staff were amazing-the crew seem to be predominantly Filipino, and really know how to look after the passengers to a very high standard, and ALWAYS with a smile on their face. The entertainment crew seem to be 100% British, with the exception of a couple of the musicians, and were absolutely fantastic, as were the Kids Club crew. We loved the fact that it wasn't too formal. There was one black tie night, but it wasn't compulsory, otherwise there were options to really dress up, but you could also easily go casual or smart casual. I quite like dressing up, but my partner hates black tie-so this was perfect for us. We booked into a suite, because there were three of us, and I have to say that it was LOVELY. Really a treat compared to the other rooms-which we used for a late check out because ours was unavailable. I am trying to find something I can criticise, but it's incredibly hard to find fault. I thought I'd just be ticking this cruise thing off the list to be honest-but it's addictive. You are on a palatial, floating hotel that caters to every need, with a stunning new exciting place to discover each morning! If you re hesitating about whether to try this-JUST DO IT! The holiday was pretty full on-not overly relaxing if you're doing a week, as there is so much to see and do-and we didn't want to miss out on any of the places we were visiting. As such-If you can afford to take the extra week-I'd recommend booking the extra cost effective week at your final port destination at the booking stage if you get the chance-as you can then recover and chill instead of stepping straight on a plane home, like we did.
