We chose the med cruise because we did the baltics on same ship last year, what a difference Petty rules and regulations stopped kids and teens having fun Passengers tried to nake larger of 2 outdoor pools adult- only, managed to get it for over-12s only, leaving small pool over-crowded (about 600 kids and teens on ship) They tried to get all under-12s in kids factory and teens to stay in x-club to keep them out of the way of their preferred passangers They put a sea marshall permanently in hideaway, where they preferred to gather, and made them whisper The disco was in sky lounge and usually started at 11.45pm each evening, all under-18s were foreably ejected at midnight, even those sitting with parents A kid about 11 had a wanted photo of him placed around ship because he accidentally hit a girl with a water volleyball, he was escorted by 2 sea marshalls to his parents A lady photographed teens in hideaway and when was asked to delete photo, dragged one teen to guest relations, who were not interested when the teen said that was assault There were approx 500 extra guests on board than usual, this was very apparent in cafe and restaurant, as service was strained The entertainment was very poor and lack-lustre Sue, the cruise director, had no idea about entertaining families If you are thinking of travelling on silhouette in aug 2020, I would consider it very carefully, because the passengers travelling without family do not want their holiday compromised and the ship's officers pander to their every need, to the detriment of families Read Less

Can I just firstly say that the crew were absolutely amazing, each and every one of them! Some days I did enjoy myself but for the most part I was not happy with this cruise at all. Firstly it was very overcrowded. Apparently it was some kind of record, over 3500 passengers. Due to this a lot of people could not get sun beds or even seats in the ocean view cafe to eat. You pay that much money you should have a sun bed allocated for you and a place to eat the food you paid for. It felt like a 3 star holiday resort where everybody runs for the sun beds. At the bars I saw a lot of arguments between people trying to get served. The bar staff couldn’t control it they never knew who to serve next and people were pushing in. On my last night I had an argument myself at the ice bar. Everybody sits around the bar so you can’t get served. I was waiting for 15 minutes then all of a sudden this rude man tried pushing me out of the way and said it was his seat. I tried to explain I didn’t want to sit down I just wanted a drink then I was going to stand back. Then his friend started on me saying I didn’t understand. It’s ridiculous that people are allowed to cover the whole bar by sitting down, drinking, then getting served again straight away. Nobody else has a chance of getting served. The seats should all be removed it’s not fair on people. Now to the food. In the main restaurant I can’t complain. But In the ocean view cafe the food was always cold. I got told they replace it every 4 hours which is a very long time. Breakfast was the worst. Stone cold beans everyday. Then I kept getting them blue glasses which were sometimes filthy, with one day having yogurt all over the rim of the glass. Again it felt like a 3 star holiday resort. Then we got ripped off with the shuttle buses. $20 each to Marseille. The cruise made it sound like a super long way. On the evening paper it said 30 minutes drive. Well it was 10-15 minutes. What made this even worse was outside next to the shuttle bus we paid for. Was a free of charge shuttle bus! The absolute cheek of them to do this! It cost us $80 for 4 people. When you pay £8000 for a holiday you expect not to keep getting robbed. Then the amount of times the waiters and supervisors tried to get us to pay for the more expensive restaurants or to upgrade our drinks package. They truly have got you when you are on board. Then teenagers seemed to be everywhere and were really annoying. Never with any parents just in gangs taking up large areas of the ship. You had no chance of having a sit down in the hideaway. Even at 1am in the morning they were still swarming around causing bother to people. The women who sing on deck 3 must have a very small catalogue of songs. They sung the same songs every night it was so repetitive. Then on ‘rock night’ she did about 2 rock songs then went back to the other repetitive ones. I won’t be cruising with celebrity again, I feel like I had the wool pulled over my eyes on how great it would be. Again it’s not all bad, but not getting served and my incident at the bar really got to me, and I had enough at that point of the whole thing and just wanted to go home. Too many people. Read Less

After so many fabulous Celebrity Cruises this was Benidorm at Sea Disinterested crew, unruly guests, cold food, average wines being passed off as premium,a front desk that was perfect at apologising without being pro active, repetitive menu in the ocean view unless you love fajitas and macaroni cheese every day... no description of your evening meal in the MDR just super swift need to clear this table for the next guest service Beyond disappointed Booked 4 Alcoves based on previous experiences..this one had no ropes no privacy and was a huge waste of money, now a public area no WiFi as advertised save your money its a rip off People sat on towels everywhere, using alcoves having not booked, and smoke from the engine mixed with the fuel odour. Disinterested crew that need to finish their chat before you may ask a question. To summarise, despite reaching out to Guest services it’s all a front, nobody irks really interested how your experience really is. Read Less

I chose Celebrity because we had sailed on the Eclipse two years ago and then Royal Caribbean’s Independence last year and felt that Celebrity was the better option. But I think they have got complacent and it seems to have extended to the bar staff who need a serious lesson in customer service. The bar service, particularly in the Sky Lounge was appalling, rarely a smile or any eye contact at all....perhaps it was being reserved for Premium package customers...! Entertainment poor by comparison with previous cruises. Theatre group had a couple of decent shows but the ‘Cabaret’ acts were poor....particularly when you consider the cost of this cruise. There was a reasonable Phil Collins tribute (although why he felt the need to keep doing the splits was somewhat bewildering) and a comedian, Jon Courtenay, was the highlight. The rest was forgettable. The last comedian had taken 36 hours to get to the boat....and spent the first 20 minutes of his act telling us all about it...he needn’t have bothered....he died on his backside. Dining was good...but let down again by lack of drinks waiters in Sea View....and just lack of availability in main dining room, particularly for ‘anytime’ diners. Big shout must go to John, our Cabin attendant, who was outstanding and also Tessa, a waitress in the main Theatre. Both could teach the bar staff a thing or two about customer service. It actually seemed that the staff in the lower paid positions actually offered the best service.....maybe when they get to Bar Staff they are encouraged to turn their smile off...! The stop offs were mostly good; we made our own arrangements for each one because of the extortionate prices of the onboard excursions. Shame they only had one ‘pool party’ which was in Barcelona because we stayed on till later. The sonly rice would have to improve considerably if I were to consider Celebrity again, particularly in view of the prices of the 2020 cruises....particularly on the new boats. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to try a diffrent cruise company. Silhoutte was a beautiful ship and the right size for us. We did get seasick which i have never had in all my years of cruising but a injection in the rump and we were right as rain. I though the passenger lounges were lovely and loved cafe bacio. Felt like a less alcohol focus cruise compared to some RC ships i have been on and that suited me. The ship was spotless and the food was good but i felt the food in the main restaurant not of great quality, it was hit and miss. I was travelling with a 15 year old and we struggled. It didn’t feel that fresh and clean and was more heavy dishes with lots of mashed potatoes. Bars were good and service was faultles. The staff are this ships gold star Read Less

A return cruise to the baltic. Sites we missed in St Petersburg first time around were not to be missed. We were going to travel independently in St Petersburg. We travelled Aqua class as we have now become addicted to Blu restaurant. Okay - from the beginning. Embarkation was a doddle. Stayed at nearby hotel and taxi to dock. Cases taken by porter and that was it. Into hall and whisked through boarding. No queues at allCabin was great. Different set up to Eclipse and Reflection and we think better. . Straight onto ship before 11 and after a short wait on deck 14 Oceanview cafe was open for early boarders. ( it takes time for people to realise this early service is available) Rooms ready as always at one. I bring a long extension cable to have a powerpoint at the bedside and tape to make it foot safe. Do not like the flavoured tea that celebrity provides so swapped it for daily iced water. Still do not really like the afternoon canapes either! The food during the 14 days was brilliant in Blu and so never really ate elsewhere for evenings but lunch in oceanview cafe was varied. Sometimes dire sometimes great. But always crowded especially on sea days.Strangely the choice of fresh fruit was the poorest I have known. The Ensemble bar for cocktails and the cafe al baccio were two of our favorite watering holes and its nice how quickly the staff learn your names and tipple. Entertainment was good and I think that must be because Sue Denning the female cruise director was head and shoulders above any other cruise director we have encountered. Her energy is infectious. Cruise directors have a habit of disappearing but not her - she was everywhere. Well done Sue The evening entertainment was good - not always great - but still enjoyable. On a sour note the casino was terrible the slots gave me a real beating. Still a great cruise made by the crew. Read Less

This was our return to the beautiful Silhouette since it’s maiden voyage out of Hamburg many years ago. We decided to try out an accessible Sky Suite and we loved the benefits this brought such as Michaels Club and the exclusive restaurant Luminae for suite guests. The service and food in Luminae was fantastic and offered a personalised dining experience. Kurt and his colleagues were amazing and the best service I have had on a cruise ship. The free alcoholic drinks including champagne and cocktails all day in Michaels club added a lovely touch. We were very disappointed by the ocean view cafe as we decided to try this one morning and once for lunch. The buffet restaurant was over crowded making it very difficult to find a seat and you had to fight your way through to grab your food. The quality of most of the food was mostly enjoyable however the rice pudding was cold and way too sweet. The buffet was not up to standard as we had previously come across with Celebrity and the buffet on Royal was much better. Thumbs down on this sailing. The accessible suite was comfortable but the layout wasn’t the best but this was to accommodate wheelchair users. The sofa and TV were located in a very awkward place so you couldn’t watch TV whilst you were sat on the sofa. The accessible bathroom was a very good size although the lack of drainage in the shower meant that water would flow all over the bathroom area making it a paddling pool. On the morning we were at sea the rocking of the ship had made the water escape into the suite soaking the carpet. There was a lack of power sockets near to the beds so charging your mobile had to be done near to the TV unit. A larger TV would have been nice as the only place to watch it was from the bed. Another big disappointment on this sailing was the lack of free loungers in the solarium as this was extremely busy on both occasions we visited it. The cold weather also meant that more passengers tried to utilise this space including certain passengers who treated it like a booze up cruise where they were drinking bottles of beer in the hot tubs. No celebrity solarium attendant challenged them and they were left to their own devices. They certainly didn’t respect other passengers and their behaviour was more I had come to expect on a P&O cruise. The clientele on this sailing wasn’t what we usually find on a Celebrity cruise and Amsterdam was most likely the reason. Another thumbs down on this sailing. The solarium needs to be better supervised and necessary action taken. The size of the solarium also now feels limited compared to Royals Anthems of the Seas which has over twice the size of what is being offered on Celebrity. For once I felt that there was a lack of space and the ship felt over crowded. Not something I’ve experienced with Celebrity on previous sailings. Overall a nice trip but we have had much better sailings with Royal so this will be our first preference from now on. Read Less

When we booked this cruise, I searched high and low for reviews of Celebrity cruises with kids under the age of 10. Since I didn't find much, I thought I would share our experience of cruising with two boys, ages 8 and 9. We booked this cruise the week before departure and didn't know much about the Celebrity cruise line. In the past, we had traveled on a Royal Caribbean ship, which was very child and family friendly. The demographic of Celebrity is definitely older, with many retirees and seasoned cruisers on board. On our ship, we only had 20 kids (out of 2,000 passengers). Overall, we LOVED this cruise and since we had so few kids on board our boys had a wonderful experience in the Fun Factory kids club with lots of personal attention. The kids club staff were all very professional and highly trained. While the boys loved playing X box, they equally enjoyed all the activities (camp out, bingo, arts & crafts, cupcake decorating, scavenger hunt). A big THANK YOU to Ma'Bel, Lilia, Dalia, Bon-bon, Lulia, Jelena and Eli! Our kids also made lots of friends on board since it was easier to get to know other children with a smaller group on board. Our experience in the dining room was also flawless. Being selective eaters, our kids asked for chicken fingers (an off-the-menu item) and had this awaiting them every night. Our waiters, Wiganata and Bibek, seemed to anticipate our every need and the food was amazing. We did run into a serious housekeeping issue, which we reported to Guest Relations and were very pleased with their response and attempt to rectify the situation. We spent a lot of time pool side (one deep and one shallow pool) and were pleased with the amount of shade available. While it did get busy and loud mid-day, we always got our swims in either early or later in the day with no crowds We were very pleasantly surprised by what an easy and fun family experience it was to cruise with Celebrity, Since our kids couldn't wait to go back to the kids club, my husband and I also got lots of time to relax and read! I've attached an outline of some of the activities offered by the Fun Factory kids club. Read Less

Excellence is subjective but, to this cruiser, there’s no area where Silhouette did not earn her title! Ship was super clean and easy to navigate, even with my mobility issues. Service, above and beyond my expectations! (First experience in concierge class and it was wonderful). Thoroughly enjoyed the lecture series on Titanic and Hollywood stars! Found the speakers, entertaining, knowledgeable and informative! Evening entertainment was fine, especially the comedian and silent disco. Food was superb! Visited Murano, Porch, LePetite Chef, Tuscan and, my personal fave Lawn Club Grill. Casual atmosphere and AMAZING food! Lamb chops cooked to perfection! Oceanview Cafe provided outstanding array of breakfasts and lunches! Great service, entertainment, fabulous weather and great interaction between crew and passengers! Our concierge stateroom was clean, well appointed, roomy with more than ample storage spaces. I was glad I remembered my collapsing bins for the overhead cupboards because they make the space much more functional. (Thanks to CC for the tip!). Love, love , the pillow menu. Body pillow made reading much more enjoyable ! Great service, outstanding food and plenty of space for “me time”. Who could ask for more? Read Less

Best cruise ever - my 45th with Celebrity. Everyone out did themselves to make our trip the best as it possibly could be. Embarkation was a breeze. Was on the ship by 1030. Ship was the cleanest and friendliest of all of the Solstice ships I have been on. Fantastic attention to detail. The meals were exceptional, everywhere! I would highly recommend going to the Dining Room for lunch on Sea Days. The entertainment was also very good - the Celebrity Dancers are really amazing and I could watch them for hours! Ports of call with the exception of Dominica (which should be struck - what a waste of a day) were top notch! Lots of things to see and to do. One thing though -I will not be cruising on the Celebrity Edge - we were parked beside it in St Martin, and those infinity balconies are a complete joke. If I pay for a balcony, I expect a balcony!! I think Celebrity Corporate made a huge strategic faux pas and will find these new ships harder to fill up in the future after the "pink cloud" wears off. Just returning to the Silhouette, there are some key individuals who merit comment: Jamie, the Hotel Director, Jeremy, the Activities Director and all of the staff at the Cafe al Bacio, especially Bianca and Staywill. All of them made our cruise very memorable. Thanks so much. Read Less

We had never been to the ABC's and wanted to check them out. We had been to Grand Cayman twice before so we only did a walk about but we did bus tours on the ABC's which were well organized and paced just right. They were colourful and we enjoyed seeing a wide area of the islands on the tours we took. Our dining room experience was enhanced by the Waiter and his assistant who worked as a team to ensure our meal time was pleasant and enjoyable. The sommelier was very knowledgeable in the wine she suggested. The only negative in the dining room was the person who was supposed to serve the pop and alcohol drinks they were non-existent and the sommelier took care of it for us. The entertainment was a 10 out of 10 with a good variety over the 9 days. The Silhouette dancers/singers were wonderful and top notch. We love the Silhouette and look forward to our next cruise. We have been on both the Equinox and the Silhouette but feel the Silhouette is our favourite. Read Less

We cruises southern Caribbean and from start to finish the Staff made us welcome and help made our cruise. The layout of the ship was good and easy to get around considering the size of the ship. It was clean and food excellent in all areas. The entertainment was OK but not great, perhaps not to our liking but speaking with other guests some thought it was good. we prefer to explore on our own and did this by foot in the towns of port, we particularity like saint maarten. Locals were friendly and the water station and cool towels before you returned to the ship was welcome as it was warm. Our waiter at dinner and his team were very good, wine waitress was good and kept our glasses topped up without having to be asked. We enjoyed it so much we booked another cruise while on board. Just returned from a 9 night Southern Caribbean cruise and experienced something I have never seen on a Celebrity cruise before. For some reason, some fellow passengers felt “entitled” to reserve 4-8 sun loungers while other guest went without. Silhouette officers were approached over this issue and either ignored the situation or failed to take corrective action that is common practice on other ships. Maybe it was the large amount of groups on this cruise, but the fact of the matter is the 30 min policy has to be policed and enforced. Other than that, it was a nice cruise with an excellent itinerary. However, Silhouette is starting to show its age and seriously needs an upgrade which I understand will occur in 2020. On a positive note, the food in the buffet and main dining room was excellent and so was the entertainment on this cruise. Overall, a good cruise but Celebrity needs to sort out the pool deck issues as some guests were so upset they decided not rebook with Celebrity. Read Less

As Celebrity Elite Plus, we have experienced a transition in Celebrity cruises from peaceful and relaxing to LOUD at a point that it is difficult to find a quiet place to relax and read a book. Every event has the volume so loud we found it necessary to wear ear plugs. The ship itself was great, the food was superior, the staff very helpful and friendly....our only point of dissatisfaction was the noise level. In the evening in our stateroom and also in walking the passageway to our stateroom, we would constantly hear the boom, boom, boom of heavy bass. If we visited a lounge we found it impossible to carry on a conversation due to the high volume. If this is what we were seeking in a cruise, we would have gone to a competitor who is known for their loud music etc., and we could have done it at a much less expensive fare. Read Less

This is an excellent ship, in excellent condition. The ship's crew are very helpful. Main dining restaurant food was so good that we didn't even want to try the speciality restaurants. The only draw back was that the Sky Lounge was closed everyday about 4.30 at a time when we wanted to stay for a drink as it was such a lovely lounge. We attended one Art auction but unfortunately it was the same old banter from the auctioner using the same old spiel that Park West tells them to use. Not bery many works were sold at the first auction. We avoided all the rest of them. It is time that Park West changed the way they do things. The ports of call were very good and varied and showed the Caribbean off incredibly well. We had an excellent time and were extremely well looked after. We would certainly use this ship again. This was my first cruise on aboard a Celebrity ship. And I love it. The quality of the instalations, decoration, services and food on Silhouette is excellent. Many islands of this itinerary are very poor so I recommend a celebrity excursion to enjoy the trip. There are good excursion offered aboard. We stayed at a corner aft suite on deck 12. It was fantastic. The suite is very large, comfortable and the varanda looking backwards great. The suite class has services, like Michaels Club and Luminae restaurant that worth the extra money. suite class can also go to Blue, the Acqua Class restaurant. Suite class also provide priority embarkation and debarkation. Everything you need abroad you can use the Michaels Club Concierge. The specialty restaurants are great - worth a visit to all of them. We went to Murano - super elegant, Qsine - amazing Petit Chef show before each course, Porch was delicious - I recommend to go for lunch to enjoy the view. Sushi on Five we loved it and is a very good option for lunch as it stays open longer than the Main Restaurant. The Lawn Club Grill is an experience, specially if you are invited to cook your own food with the chefs. The entertainment is very good also - many options all the time. Read Less

Restaurants - Sushi was good and QSine was okay. The best is the Murano! Dining Room Service and Food was phenomenal!! Buffett food same! Great picks and almost clean. Shore Excursions - excellent!! We loved Klein Beach of Bonaire! Bring plenty of water and snorkel gear! Celeb wanted 35 per person for the water taxi but we hopped on for 20 per adult and the kids were free! We also did the Cayman Islands turtle and dolphin adventure excursion. Loved it!! The activities on the ship were a bit boring. We chose this cruise having previously done 3 cruises with celebrity, including one on this ship, plus the free classic drinks package was an incentive. We were a group of 6 - my husband and I, our son and his girlfriend plus my in laws. Anytime dining is a joke, it’s anytime they want you to dine. The restaurant hostess was very unfriendly and rude. This ship cannot cope with the number of guests who wish to dine anytime, Princess are sooooo much better. The wait staff in all the bars are slow, not enough staff on duty. The classic drinks package included drinks up to 9 dollars a glass, yet none of the menus in any of the bars included drinks to this vale, all started at 10 or 11 dollars. I soon found you had to specifically ask for a Sauvignon Blanco included in the drinks package. While the food was excellent, the cabins spacious- Princess have better storage though, the whole celebrity experience was a disappointment. They continually try to rip you off. Read Less

We have cruised with RCCL's brands lines many times and we have always enjoyed our time on their ships. This trip with Celebrity was no exception. Embarkation was quick and painless. We had an inside cabin which we found very spacious, clean and comfortable. The ship itself shows a few signs of aging, but was clean and functional. Entertainment was cruise ship average, but the cruise director Sue did a great job! I have to point out that our main reason for cruising is the quality of food and service and we were not disappointed. We did use any time dining and for the first few days it was very difficult to get seated (they hand out pagers), but after day 3 it seamed to ease off. We also felt that the service -although still good when compared to other ships - has declined with staff having to take care of more tables than in the past. The food itself was top notch. The soups were hot and salads were crisp. Fantastic onion soup which we enjoyed every day. Great croissants too, some the largest we've ever seen Read Less

It took over two decades to get my husband on a cruise ship. He had a bad experience on Disney's Big Red Boat about 25 years ago, and he swore he would never step on a cruise ship again! It took a lot of convincing and the promise of good scuba diving on the ABC islands, before he finally agreed. Coming home, he said the cruise exceeded his expectations and that he is now a "cruise ship convert". Celebrity certainly made it so easy for our family (six adults), from the seamless and quick check-in and embarkation process, to the outstanding service from all the staff, and the caring and followup when my husband had an accident on one of the Celebrity shore excursions. Food and Beverage: we bought the 3 dinner Specialty Dining package: (1) Murano was outstanding, both in food and service. The only hiccup was the extremely dry and hard duck confit drumstick, which I brought to the chef's attention when he came around asking about our meal. (2) Qsine's menu was simple, but the food was well executed. Show was cute, but when dining, we want the focus be on the food. I was disappointed that the previous tapas menu had been changed to this new dining "experience". The "show" was not new to us, as we had seen something similar at the Museum of Wine in Bordeaux just a few months earlier (3) we were really disappointed with Tuscan Grille after reading previous posts on this forum. The appetizers sounded good when reading the menu, but were not well executed. The carpaccio was fine (but it's raw), but the calamari was overcooked, crab cake was OK, burrata was OK, etc. The restaurant reminded us of a (very good) Mexican all inclusive restaurant; however, with very good red meat. Two of our party had fish which was overcooked. We also participated in the Chef's Table, which was a fun experience as we met some other people. Our party of eleven got louder and louder as the evening progressed, well lubricated by all the wine that was being poured. The meal was very good: the amuse bouche was a bit strange; I didn't like the pairing of minced escargot with lobster, the white onion soup puree was excellent, and all the other courses were very good to excellent. I had to send my halibut back as it was overcooked. After that meal, we finally clued in that we had to instruct our waiter to tell the cook(s) not to overcook the fish. We think that they may be cooking for a crowd that prefer their fish well done (and hard!) We all had the premium alcohol package which made ordering drinks simple; however, after day 5, I only drank one or two cocktails as it was all too much for me. The Oceanview Cafe was fine for breakfast and lunch; their stews/braises were the highlights. They cut corners a bit by serving the same basic fruit every day, with the exception of the last day. Some of the pastries were not well-executed, for example the croquembouche looked impressive, but was not made with choux pastry. The main dining room was very good. In fact, it was outstanding the first 2 nights (the rack of lamb was one of the best we've had), but we found the menu offerings became simpler and simpler as the days progressed, with the exception of the last Evening Chic night where they served lobster and Beef Wellington. We had 3 balcony staterooms on Level 8. The beds were very comfortable and the staterooms were kept clean by our amazing room attendant, Rama. We were surprised at how much room there was. We brought an over-the-door clear shoe organizer which went a long way in keeping clutter off the countertops and made things very easy to find (thank you to previous posts!) My kids thought I was crazy, but were grateful for the magnets I brought so they could post their daily sheets. I also went to a dollar store and bought a package of 3 wrist bungees for $1.25 CDN, which we found very handy to clip on the SeaPasses. They were 3 different colours, so it was easy to keep track of whose card it was. I also brought some lanyards from home, for those who wanted it around their necks. We went to most of the evening shows which were decidedly better that what Mexican all-inclusive offered. Our cruise director, Sue, was a hoot! I don't know where she gets all her energy from, especially walking around in high heels all day! The house bands were good, although we rarely had time to enjoy them. Silent Disco and Karaoke were fun! Kudos to the staff on the Celebrity Silhouette for their warm welcome and outstanding service! Read Less

Our family, including our adult children and their significant others, booked adjoining Sky Suites on deck twelve of the Celebrity Silhouette for the twelve- day cruise to the Southern Caribbean. The Sky Suites were a new experience. We embarked in Ft. Lauderdale’s Port Everglades terminal 26 and disembarked in Port Everglades at terminal 25. We parked in the mid-port garage. The terminals and garage were new experiences. We used a wheelchair for my wife who cannot walk or climb well. That was a new experience. Embarkation: We drove to Port Everglades, dropped our bags at terminal 26, and unloaded the wheelchair with my wife near the entrance of the terminal. We parked at the mid-port garage located across the street from the terminal. The large garage is used for several terminals on the East side of the port and conveniently located within walking distance for them. We were met at the security checkpoint by Celebrity terminal representatives who took control of the wheelchair, took us through check-in, wheeled my wife out a pier level door to the Silhouette’s deck two, and up the elevator to the deck 3 customer relations area where we met the rest of our family. The process only allows one person to accompany the wheelchair embarkation. Hint: Call Celebrity and let them know wheelchair assistance will be needed and if you will have your own wheelchair. Cabins: We had three adjoining Sky suites on deck twelve, a huge treat for all of us. The partitions between the three balconies were opened by the room steward so that we had one very large balcony and easy access to each of the cabins. The high deck also had an overhang from the Oceanview Café deck that offered nice shade for most of every day, a real plus in the Caribbean. There was some noise from the Oceanview Café, but not bothersome. We could also smell the food in the hallway. Hint: Ask the steward to open the balcony partitions which they can do on most cruise ships. The Sky suites come with several nice perks including access to the Luminae restaurant and Michael’s Club where the concierge is based. The concierge was helpful in making reservations, solving problems and guiding disembarkation. Dining: We had access to the Luminae restaurant, the restaurant designated for suite guests, and a real treat. We ate most breakfasts and dinners there with excellent service. It is easy to get to know most of the restaurant staff during the cruise. Hint: Let the waiter know if you want expediated service because they normally allow for leisurely dining. The food on Celebrity was excellent. We had filet mignon, lobster, roasted turbot and a Thanksgiving dinner in the evening. Belgium waffles, smoothies, pancakes, and eggs custom prepared for breakfast. Lunches in the Oceanview café were prepared with a different theme each day: Pub, panini, Indian, Mexican, Mediterranean, and taste of the USA. The Oceanview featured large selections of dessert trifles and cakes on different days, colorful and tasty. We booked both the Qsine- Le Petit Chef, and Sushi on Five specialty restaurants. Le Petit Chef included videos with the table and dinner plates as projection screens along with excellent prepared steak and lobster. Nice! Sushi on Five featured rolls and soups that we tried, Hint: The sushi on Five portions are generous. It is easy to order more than you can eat from the a la carte menu. Just ask how many rolls are included in each selection. The steaks in Qsine and the pork chops in the Luminae were highlights of our dining experiences. Ports: Wheelchair processes in the ports was a concern. It worked out well. Disembarkation in each port was from deck two, an easy trip from the ship to each pier. Ship staff were ready every time to assist both pushing the wheelchair off and on. The walk to port shopping was reasonable for most of the ports. Wheelchair friendly shore excursions were few but we did try the trolley tour in Dominica that worked. Port shopping in St. Kitts was the best of any port. There was significant hurricane damage in each port but a lot of work had been completed in the port areas which are the lifeblood of the locals. Ship and staff: The Silhouette is elegant with numerous well kept venues. Café al Bacio is a favorite for specialty coffees, gelato and pastry snacks. The casino has a large variety of games and slot machines but they use stools instead of chairs with backs for many slot machines. Back aches are a penalty. Hint: The casino features slot packages which provide bonus money when purchased. For example you can get $340 of slot play for $300. The catch is that the money must be played. The Celebrity staff, as always, were excellent. The waiters, room stewards, concierge, terminal employees, maintenance staff were representative of the excellence. Worth noting are the quality inspectors who constantly patrol the ship looking for things that need attention. Attention is immediate. Disembarkation: We disembarked at terminal 25, the Celebrity terminal that had a huge makeover for hosting the Celebrity Edge. The terminal was walking distance to the mid-port garage and had easy access for passenger pick-up. We were assisted from Michael’s lounge to the baggage claim area by a member of the ship’s staff. The terminal 25 exit ramp from the ship to the terminal is the back-and-forth type so it is not as steep as a direct ramp like the one in terminal 26. This makes it wheelchair friendly. Hint: Let someone know that you will need wheelchair assistance prior to disembarkation. A staff member will be available. Conclusion: There were plenty of other ship venues and features worthy of mention. The pool deck, Lawn Club Grill, bars and lounges, shops, and grand foyer are among those. You have to experience them. Our experiences with the Sky suites, the terminals and garage on the East side of Port Everglades, and the wheelchair friendly ship were all very nice. Read Less

My wife and I have sailed 14 times previously with Holland America and enjoy their trips. However, as a result of a price my wife could not pass up we gave Celebrity a try. Our cruise was on the Silhouette (11/18/18 to 11/30/18) and the experience was outstanding. I read some negative reviews about our cabin 7183 which made me a little weary, however Celebrity corrected all of the faults mentioned in the reviews and the cabin was in excellent condition. The service and all the staff on the ship was excellent. We ask for a table of not more than six, but was seated at a table for ten, but due to the friendliness of our dinner friends and the excellent service of the wait staff (Jose and Valentino) the experience was great. The entertainment was great, lead by cruise director Sue, who was outstanding, During sea days we spent time at the pool. Always something to do,entertainment, dance exercises, dancing and games. All food revenues were excellent especially the breads freshly prepared daily. The on board and off load was well organized (better than Holland). We will sail definitely sail with Celebrity again and recommend the Silhouette. Read Less

It was late in the year for us to take a cruise but glad we did, the year before I had been on the Eclipse the sister ship to the Silhouette and enjoyed every minute of that cruise, I have to say myself and the wife decided to take our 15 year old granddaughter on her very first cruise to show her mom and dad its the way to go.the minute we stepped onto the ship we was treated like one of the family, I had chosen deck 3 (3130) stateroom ocean view and found it to be just what I wanted. Our room attendant was a young girl who's name escapes me she was magic to us couldn't do enough for two elderly couple. Just a few steps away was the main foyer the Pastport bar, it didn't take long for the staff to get to know us, a special mention to Rozi Iluminadev, Moris Tavanez, Miza, Irfran, and head barman Sigh. The dinning restraint on deck 4 was a site to see, we was shown to a table think it was 447 Mathew our head waiter made us feel at home straightaway, Ryan, Sommiler Allan, along with a charming bar waiter Veronica looked after us for the whole 13 days.would I go again ,yes I would just for the attention and help they gave. Many thanks all.Bill and Audrey. Read Less

This ship does not suit international people. Too many bad jokes about Americans being obese, other people's use of English and other races. May not be intended but compare to other cruises it's a narrow minded ship. I wonder if the cruise director will change her tune if the ship sails other routes. On the plus side, the food is good and majority of the staff are friendly. Cabin is average. more dated than other ships I have been on. Been bumpy at sea some days but guess it's a smaller ship. Activities are average. Entertainment varies. Too much singing shows. Embark and debark was fine. Not as well staffed as other ships but generally not an issue. Ships need refurb but heard it's in the plan. In summary, needs to tone down on descriminate jokes and welcome people from other countries otherwise this ship will not go very far. Read Less
