It had been 11 years since our last cruise, preferring to vacation at our time share in Mexico. Our neighbors talked us in to cruising again, and we were not disappointed. The Silhouette is a beautiful ship. It is easy to get around. The crew is very friendly and always greets you warmly, except for a couple of grouchy bartenders which I will mention later. We opted for the 4 night specialty dining package and were not disappointed except for the Lawn Club. The Lawn Club is located on the top deck and features BBQ selections. The food (filets) and service were excellent, but the ambiance was awful. The tables are very close together, and the acoustics are terrible. Because of the glass, wood and plastic there was nothing to absorb the sounds. To make matters worse, they pipe in this "modern" music that gives you indigestion and prevents you from having a conversation with your table mates. Not worth the time or money. The Murano, QSine and Tuscan Grill were wonderful. Excellent food, service and ambiance. We dined in the MDR 3 nights and requested the same waiter. Ronald our waiter and his assistant Raimon were great. We never had to wait for a course. As soon as we were finished, more food came out. There was a great selection on the menu, and the lobster was one of the best we have had. Our table was in the corner and we enjoyed conversing with the diners next to our table. All in all a great dining experience. Not sure if we will take the specialty dining package again. Classic beverage package offered a varied selection of drinks. Our favorite lounge for pre dinner cocktails was the Ensemble Lounge. It is located on Deck 5 before the entrance to 3 specialty dining restaurants. It was nice to sit, have a cocktail and talk with our fellow travelers about their day until the music started. Needless to say, it was not conducive to conversation. Very loud!! and not pleasing except maybe for the guitar player. Celebrity should ramp it up for the later bar crowd and not for mature diners that wish to enjoy a cocktail and conversation. They also mixed the best drinks. We found that the same mixed drinks tasted different at different bars. You never knew what to expect if you tried another bar. The bartenders and servers were pleasant and attentive except for the three "grouchies" at the Pool Bar, Mast Bar and Lawn Bar. They seriously need a lesson on customer service. My husband even witnessed one customer at the Pool Bar tell the bartender to lighten up but he did not. They also were short staffed at the Pool Bar. The was a wide variety of entertainment to suit everyone's taste. Enjoyed the Broadway Review, the "Cirque du Soleil," the 2 very funny and not crude comedians and the young man that played the electric xylophone. He was AMAZING!! What talent. Did not enjoy the performance by the singer and dancer. Tunes were not familiar to us except for 3 of them. Great exercise facility but beware they charge for classes like Yoga and Zumba, etc. We had been to San Juan before so only went in to town for a last minute purchase. St. Kitts was a disappointment. Not well maintained and landscaped. St. Maarten was great. Even nicer than I remember. They have a beautiful shopping area near the pier and the walk into the main shopping area was only about 15 minutes. Disembarkation was a little slow in the main gangway and if you were assigned to wait on a lower floor, forget taking the elevators. They were always full. All in all we had a wonderful time, with great service and good food. The ship is beautiful and we definitely will try to sail with Celebrity again. Read Less

First longer cruise I have been on. Wife and I went with Celebrity based on coworker recommendation. They also recommended Aqua Class. Loved having Blu as dining option. Didn't spend much time in the spa areas, but they were great and plan to utilize them more on the next cruise (same ship). Room was nice and seemed to have plenty of storage space, comfortable furnishings compared to other cruise line I have been on. I really enjoyed the feel of the ship and the various spaces where you can get away from everything or be right in the middle of it. I think it is a great ship for couples. The lawn area really made the ship standout and it was pretty cool to sit out at night listening to live music and having a picnic on real grass, 100's of feet above the Caribbean Sea. We tried two of the specialty restaurants - Qsine and Murano - they were both great. Qsine really is an interesting dining experience and worth trying - just make sure to bring an appetite. I have seen many pro's and con's about drink packages but we did the most expensive one and I thought it was worth it. We like wine and after a couple glasses of wine, cappuccino's, etc. throughout the day it broke even pretty quick. Probably something to consider if you are planning on staying on the ship for a large part of the port days.   Read Less
