Back in 2010 we sailed to Panama on the Equinox but crossing the canal was not on the itinerary. We just did a land excursion with a stop at the Gatun Locks Observation deck (now closed). An opportunity had arisen to consider this 15 day cruise on the Infinity at a bargain price, and were happy to book it quickly. You can’t experience a Panama Canal crossing unless you are on the ship going through the locks. We flew from Toronto to Ft. Lauderdale for one night stay at the Best Western South Airport and cruiseport on Stirling Rd. Very good choice for pre-cruise. There is ample shopping and dining within walking distance. If you use Uber to get to the port, make sure you key in the proper pier location. Our driver followed GPS and brought us to a few wrong spots in the port. Having sailed several times on the Summit, coming aboard the Infinity felt like homecoming. Our Oceanview cabin 2056 was comfortable and kept immaculately clean by Wayan. The a/c fan rattle was repaired quickly. The cabin layout should be noted, since you don’t see this information on the Celebrity website. Our king bed (2 singles put together, with mattress topper added) was pushed against the 4 ft. round window. There was a useful night table on both sides of the bed. Reading light was adequate. There is also a small sofa convertible to a single bed, and two upper berths, making maximum space for 5. There is no connecting door, which I hoped will cut down on noise. There is only one half-size mirror above the desk, but no full length mirror anywhere. The fridge was emptied as requested, but it really did not cool much. I had to use the ice from the bucket, transferred to zip lock bags, to keep my drinks colder. The flat screen TV was rather small, and the interactive menu lacked many features found on the newer ships. Some buttons on the TV remote were not responding, so Wayan had a functioning replacement brought within minutes. The ship is constantly cleaned. Even cabin doors, door handles, hallway walls get sanitized wipes several time. The crew is just amazing. Helpful, friendly, attentive and engaging, even when busy. You can feel the camaraderie between them, and the sadness when they’re getting off after many months at sea. We had select dining, with prior reservations around 7 pm. On the second night we were seated by the window with waiter Ufuk his assistant Roy. We were so impressed with their service and the dining experience that we requested their station every night, and rarely had to wait. Even when dining alone, the gap between tables is small, and we had conversation companions almost every evening. I recall that there was no horseradish available for the prime rib on the first night. The maitre d’ came to apologize, and promised it will be available for the remainder of the cruise – which was true. (A new shipment was loaded on, but there was no time to unpack the boxes in time for dinner). Otherwise the food was very good to excellent quality, arriving at the proper temperature. For breakfast we liked the plentiful selections at the Oceanview Café. Dining in the aft watching the wake is what cruising is all about. Then we would head down to the Tuscan Grill, where there was a light breakfast for Elite level members. We came for the table service of fresh-squeezed juices, fresh cut fruits, specialty coffee and mimosas. I was pleasantly surprised to find the window shutters were adjustable, so daylight and Oceanview can be enjoyed. That was not the case on the Summit, where they are fixed, almost fully shut. One afternoon we were invited to dine in Blu for a special lunch prepared by chef Lama. Perhaps to recognize our loyalty to the Celebrity brand. There were about 50 people with a few of the ship’s top officers. It was a delicious buffet and made us feel very special. The entertainment was generally good, with a couple of truly enjoyable performances by Salvatore Hasard and comedian Ed Regine. The cruise director Shawna was infectious with her enthusiasm. The enrichment speakers were well prepared and gave informative and entertaining presentations. Unfortunately, when Bill Fall was narrating during the canal crossing, there were many locations on the ship where the volume was hardly audible. Disembarkation in San Diego was orderly on the ship, but the terminal had issues with intersecting people and luggage wagons being unloaded. Lines moved quickly, and within a short time we were walking out of the terminal straight to our hotel, Best Western Bayside. Read Less

Overall solid cruise. Friendly staff. Luigi (Cruise Director) Lauren and Chico (Activities) were all great and extremely personable. Dining room was great — I tried a lot of the fish, lamb, pork. Didn’t go for any of the up-charge dining rooms, although they pushed them a lot. Dining staff worked their tails off as usual to accommodate people. Ship is easy to navigate -- it's a good size, not a 'mega ship'. Cabin 3049 (inside) was small and a bit smelly and showed wear, but was very quiet and dark, so easy to sleep. The location was very convenient, near the gangways and not far from the main atrium and show theater. The thelassotherapy mineral pool near the spa is free and a real bonus! My favorite thing to do in the late afternoon was go and relax in the this mineral pool and then the sauna in the locker room, which has a large round window that looks out on the waves. Disappointing there wasn’t a formal tea (unless you are one of the more elite passengers). They do however put out tea items in the buffet restaurant in the late afternoon. Good itinerary—mostly did our own thing. Tendered twice, which went smoothly with the use of a ticket system. Lots of Americans, Canadians and Brits on board, several Europeans. I felt there could have been more daytime activities. It seemed like they had few activities, but they were very crowded because there weren't a lot of choices. My favorite thing was the 'silent disco'. Evening shows could have been more varied -- lots of singers -- but they were all excellent entertainers. The show theatre was never packed, which was nice. Easy to get a seat. The ‘show after the show’ in the Constellation Lounge is where Celebrity really shines! Embarkation in San Diego was long — 2 hours on your feet! Everyone complained about it. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, we had never visited any of these ports before and were looking forward to new places to see. After a long 10.5 hr flight we cleared US customs in record time and as we had booked the Celebrity package were taken to our hotel. As scheduled we were collected from our hotel and transferred to the port again this was part of our package. we then had to stand in line for a very long 2.5 hours to check in this is a totally unacceptable length of time to stand in line. As Elite Captain Club members we have never waited more than 20 mins to check in. The long wait at check in meant that by the time we had put our hand luggage in the stateroom and freshened up lunch was nearly over. we were in Stateroom 7015, not a location I would choose again. The stateroom itself was fine with amply hangers and drawers but the cut backs were very noticeable. No shower cap No vanity kit No pen No paper No envelopes yes some of us till communicate by pen and paper and although these were provided on request I expect them as standard on a 5* cruise. Once again we chose the select dining option, which suits our needs however we were unable to make reservations for the time we wanted 7.30, and had to turn up and wait. this brings me to my other main complaint DRESS CODE or lack of it Since doing away with "FORMAL NIGHTS" and introducing "ELEGANT CHIC" the dress code on these nights is none existent, with guests in the main dining room in shorts & t shirts and although I did complain to the MD who met me on the second of these nights to assure me the dress code would be followed it wasn't. The food in the main dinning room was as good as it always has been with a varied choice and the staff were always friendly and helpful. I really loved the fact that the pool was heated this was a real plus as the weather was cooler than I expected. The shows we went to were very enjoyable and the public areas as usual were spotlessly clean we enjoyed spending sea day in the constellationlounge spotting whales and food the rendezvous lounge very relaxing. Once again our favourite place was the cafe on 5 this is always a the best place on the ship. Read Less

We chose the cruise because we wanted to sail the Panama Canal. Yes, the Infinity is one of the older ships in the fleet but is well kept. Nothing to keep me from the enjoying the cruise. Embarkation-Lines seemed to be longer than usual. I thought Captain club elites had some sort of priority embarkation but I did not see it. The Panama was the main attraction and the day long passage was well narrated. That was the best part. We did not especially enjoy the other ports and I will briefly mention them. Cayman Islands-Had to be tendered in. The port has become a dwelling place for all of the companies that line most of the cruise ports now. That is one of my pet peeves. They edge out what we came for Manta--The offers a free shuttle to to a square that offers all sort of local trinkets to buy. Included are Panama hats for $20 up. American dollars are accepted. If you did not purchase an excursion, then taxis are offered to the Monticristo around $20 but is negotiable. Took a picture of the Manta sign. Note-much of the Pacific coast was recently devastated by earthquakes a year or so ago Lima-Ship docks at least a 45-60 minute ride provided by the ship-in heavy traffic. Free ship shuttle. You are dropped off at a very nice mall. There, you have to fight your way through a mob of people offering taxi services.-Beware. If you want a taxi walk through the mall to the other street to the real taxi stand. BEWARE-all taxi prices are negotiable and make sure they are talking about Sols or dollars. You can go to most areas that you want to travel for $10. But they may quote $30. They will take $10. One pretended he didn't have change and one slipped us a counterfeit bill as change. And they drive lake mad people. But we did see what we wanted. Pisco-You dock at the edge of a desert-Maybe 20 minutes out of town. We took the excursion to the Baracas islands and enjoyed. From there we could also see the Candleabra formation. That afternoon we took it he free shuttle into town-not Pisco but an area called El Chapo. Arica-The market featuring local items is located right off the dock. You can either hike or ride a taxi up the top of the large rock right beside (El Moro?) Sort of liked it. San Antonio-made arrangements with Viator for ride into Santiago and stayed for 3 nights. Cost $90 pp for 2 people. As low as $60 pp for 6 If there is no other opportunity, our cabin steward (Fatkul) was very good. The food in the Blu was great and the service in there was special. All of the staff works in tandem. Entertainment-Mostly very good. The comedian and the juggler-comedian were the best. The magician was average at best. There was a lounge style singer one night that was not good at all. The impersonator was good. The shades Bluble" On the first night were good. Male pianist was good. Female pianist great talent, but I did not especially enjoy the arrangements . The violinist was very entertaining. The Whitney Houston singer was good. There was some male gaucho type dancers on the last night that grew old after a while. Lastly, The ship dancers and singers As well as the aerialists were good. I have probably missed some. Stayed in Aqua room. Will return Feb 23 to almost same cabin for the Antartica cruise. Disembarking-Was off the ship and through customs in minutes. Our driver was waiting. Positives-I was pleased with the value of my cruise. I bought it long ago and we paid several thousand less than some in the same type room. Shop wisely. Negatives-Why does this ship as well as most others have Park West art auctions that basically offers up crap that they call art? Why would anyone purchase diamonds,jewelry and other stuff on board that is as cheap or cheaper at your own home. Example-Jack Daniels was $25 on board and $20 at a drug store at home. Read Less

I'll try to go from start to finish: Pre-Cruise: We arrived in Fort Lauderdale a few days early. We were flying on points so this was the best date we could get. We stayed at Embassy Suites and when we arrived to drop our bags at 12 our room was ready! Bonus. Great place to stay, near lots of restaurants, shopping and the port. We took the water taxi and enjoyed hopping on and off. We ended up taking the shuttle to the port because it was there. It would have been cheaper to take a taxi. Embarkation: If you were concierge class and above, then embarkation would have been a quick and smooth experience. If you were in steerage, then embarkation took over an hour for some. We arrived at 11:15 and were in line for one hour. Some people were in much longer. Cabin: We had the best cabin steward ever - Edy! Our veranda cabin was kept spotless. He didn't bother us when the do not disturb sign was on but managed to clean it when we were out. We love balconies and used it a lot. Activities: I found enough to keep busy. I enjoyed the lectures but some were way too early - 9 am! It would have been cool to have the lecture on the night sky up on the rooftop terrace in the evening. We participated in a few activities, I did the blendtique workshop - a bit rushed but I enjoyed it. I also participated in the Old World wine tasting. People weren't really tasting but gulping the wine like no tomorrow, some pretty happy folks afterwards. I managed to go to the very nice but crowded at times gym. Well equipped and everyone using it was very considerate. Dining: We had anytime dining, some nights we sat with strangers, others we sat with cruise critic friends. The food and service was hit or miss. The menu was a bit boring IMO. We did QSine with others from Cruise Critic...great service, great food - just too much of it. Our waiter did a great job managing all of us. One night hubby and I went to Tuscan Grill - we enjoyed the food and service. We did the buffet a few nights, just didn't feel like sitting and eating for 2 hours. Very good. Ports: Ok here is a word of caution. We had an active roll call. Two members offered some tours at pretty good prices. I signed us up. There were some odd things - the organizers wanted payment up front on the second sea day. They didn't show up to the cruise critic gathering. Usually the organizers ask for payment on the day of the tour and make an effort to show up the cruise connections party or the sailaway. Everyone else had similar suspicions. I sign up for the roll call tours as they are usually a smaller group. I should have checked when I kept seeing openings offered, but I assumed others had cancelled. Turns out that there were 3 - 4 busses on these tours! None of the busses saw the same things. Some were very upset, I could have let myself get upset (DH was!) but made the best of it. Note to self, check the numbers before you sign up. Grand Cayman: We didn't organize anything as we've been here before. The ship had to tender us to a different dock due to "high waves". But all the taxies and busses were waiting. We ended up near Calico Jacks. 2 loungers and an umbrella cost $15. The van was $7 each. We got a bucket of beers and had a pleasant day at the beach. Panama Canal: Amazing. The ship would not let people on the helipad at first due to the rain, but didn't mind crowds balancing precariously on the stairs! I was watching the helipad situation on the TV, as soon as I saw officers posing for photos, I knew they would open it. Being on deck 6, I went to the boarding area in the Theatre on Deck 5 and was one of the first on! Great day, we had a good lecuturer explaining the sites. I walked all over the ship taking photos, front and back. The roof top terrace was also an uncrowded but great spot to take photos. Manta, Ecuador: One of the roll call tours. The hike in the rain forest was good but may have been physically taxing for some. We saw and heard the monkeys. It was at the Pachoce Nature reserve. Then a quick drive to Montechristi, sadly we did not get out at the site overlooking the town. But did have 45 minutes to explore and shop in town. Lima, Peru: Well if you weren't on a ship tour, things were challenging. Private tours were not permitted in port. They had the choice of meeting you at a shopping mall 30 minutes away or at a taxi stand just outside the port. The guide thought it was best to meet 3 busloads worth of people at the taxi stand. However the port shuttle had two vans holding 8 people! You can imagine the line. In the end, Celebrity provided the bus to ease the line up. The taxi stand wasn't in the nicest of areas. The next day we arranged to meet the tour at the mall. Much better. However on day 2, many of the group members skipped the tour. Too bad, day 2 was much better then day 1. Pisco, Peru: I semi-arranged a flight over Nazca Lines. Due to all the personal information required for the flight, I just had everyone contact the operator themselves. Our favourite part of the cruise! You read about them, but once you see them - they are amazing. We had to retrieve our passports from Guest Services, we got them right away the day before, others had to battle it out. We were in a 12 seat Cessna - good thing I took some Dramamine! On the way back we stopped to take photos of a flock of flamingos. We had the option to get off in Paracas, but we were tired as there was more port stress, however I managed to tell the tour operator about it so they had everything arranged when we got off - they reserved a shuttle for our group of 10, which drove us 5 minutes to the parking lot where the van was waiting. Arrica - another roll call tour. But I really enjoyed it, a stroll up the coast - for some reason our group didn't get to see the caves - others did. But we went into the desert and visited an Olive Farm. San Antonio replaced Valpairiso. This time only one bus. We got to visit a winery, see around the area and have a great lunch at a little roadside restaurant. We all got dropped off at our various hotels before the rest were driven to the airport. We spent a 2 days in Santiago - I'd arranged some tours with Stamp's which went very well. Final Thoughts: The roll call was very active and the Cruise Connections party well attended. I met some great people and all in all I really enjoyed myself. You will encounter glitches when travelling, but if you don't make the best of it, then you will ruin your vacation. Read Less

I love the time away on the cruise through the Panama Canal. And seeing the new canal was very interesting. The ports were interesting, learned about Tequila and coffee in 2 of the ports, and in Colon watched ships going through the canal. We ate dinner in the main dining room. The food was generally great, except for some of the vegetarian dishes. the Spa cafe was a disappointment. Food was mediocre and no hot food. Went on another Celebrity cruise and the spa cafe served grilled fish for lunch, great!! but not on this one. Only cold wraps and salad. this ship is over 15 years old and in need of maintenance in the rooms and some care. With the first view of the ship I noticed that it needed painting and general care outside. I guess I am spoiled by RCCI and the care that the Captain for "His" ship. This care was not evident on this cruise. Found out that Captains are rotated every 3 months, so there is no "ownership" of the vessel. Also found that the brochure description of the cabin was mistaken. Read Less

The food and beverage experience on this ship was perhaps the best we have ever had on any cruise, however, the ship is badly in need of a major refurbishment. Cabin furniture and many public areas are looking very tired. Having said that, the crew was almost universally friendly, attentive and wanting to make our cruise experience better. The ports were generally excellent with the exception of Colon, which was a dump. In our opinion we should have sailed straight from the Panama Canal to Cartagena, which other than the canal was the highlight of the cruise. We don't take ships' tours but had a few good tours on this cruise, with the exception of Puerto Quetzal, where the tour arranged through Tour Excursioneers to Antigua and a spa was poorly organized and overpriced. Our tour with Marelvy in Cartagena was excellent, as was our tour from Puntarenas. Again the only negative was the ship, which is in very bad shape. Read Less

We took this cruise due to our desire to stay in the US and Canada (chronic medical issues). The itinerary was excellent (San Diego; Santa Barbara; Monterey; Astoria; Seattle; Nanaimo; Victoria; Vancouver). The crew were outstanding -- almost everyone made that "little extra effort" that made our time enjoyable. We did the open dining option for the first time and really enjoyed it. Our party of 4 was able to sit alone at a table of 4 for every dinner meal (as requested). Diversity of food selections (including vegetarian options) were very good; presentation was exceptional and quality was good. Other meals were mostly in the Ocean Grille buffet, which was also very good, although it seemed to get a bit monotonous by the end of an 11-day cruise. (I missed having any Mexican or Tex-Mex selections the entire cruise). Tip: if you want a kind of jelly other than strawberry or orange marmalade, go to the Trellis dining room for breakfast (blackberry and grape). Our party's cabins were typical concierge class cabins. One of us paid to have Aqua class and the relaxation room on the Infinity was a huge disappointment -- dark and damp and dank -- not at all like the photo on the Celebrity site. I would not bother again. Beds were comfy but awfully narrow if you are used to a king-sized bed. The room on the Ninth deck (9102) had frequent sewage smells, coming from the toilet and from the deck (outside). No other complaints about cabins. The concierge was outstanding. My husband forgot a prescription at home. We first checked with a nurse on board who checked to see if they stocked it on the boat (no); she was not very helpful. The concierge helped us call out doctor back in our home state and we were able to pick up a new prescription at the next port. The photographers seemed younger and more timid than the ones I have encountered on previous ships. They were not asking to take your photos all the time -- which may be good or bad depending on your point of view. We saw three evening shows -- we left the first one because the singing was horrible. The next two shows were entertainers who were not from the ship -- they were both g-rated and top quality (a magician who used mechanical items and a musical impersonator). Unlike past cruises, there was very little planned on board for people to do. Not sure if this was because it was a repositioning cruise, but it was a bit boring. Lots of library users! The average age on this particular cruise was at least 65. No kids, no teens and almost no one under age 50. Lots of canes, wheelchairs, oxygen, etc. Read Less

Pick this because of the unique schedule of ports going up the west coast to Vancouver. Celebrity Elite cruisers. Third cruise on the Infinity, from its first days in Alaska to South America and this one. Guest entertainment was very good. On board production shows were a little bit rough. Live band at shows was great. Lack of music around ship pre-dinner was noticeable. When there was good lounge entertainment the room (s) were packed. Late night constellation events were sparsely attended. Lack of daytime "enrichment events" was topic of discussion among regular Celebrity cruisers. Regular Cruise Director was off ship until San Francisco, Nacho did great job filling in. Once Alejandro was back there were less announcements and little communication except at the end of the nightly main shows. Cruise Director TV was of no value to watch. There was an attempt a sailaway party on the helipad out of San Francisco......just a bit too cool and windy (and foggy). Most left helipad once ship moved from berth. Did speciality dining in Tuscan on final night of cruise. WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT! Service from our waiter was great, everything else, including the food was bland. The room is not very inviting (cold-stark), not a $45 upgrade environment. Main Dining room had much more atmosphere and "life". Celebrity has too many large tables for the way they do anytime dining........all two tops were given beepers----3, 4, 5, 6....no wait, unless you wanted to join a large table of 2's. Read Less

We go on Celebrity again and again. Obviously, we like this line. Embarkation: It went pretty smoothly for us. We live in the San Diego area and that was the embarkation point. So we arrived by train (a 40 minute trip), got off downtown, walked across the street to the cruise port and we were there. Very easy (and inexpensive). There were the usual serpentine lines but it was not terribly objectionable. About 30-45 minutes to get on board. We were booked as Concierge Class so there was lunch on embarkation day in the main dining room. There were maybe 3-4 entrees from which to select. Really quite good and I was thrilled to be able to escape the chaos that is always at the buffet in the Ocean View Cafe--the latter is just not my style. Debarkation: Easy and smooth. Vancouver was the debarkation point. We got off, walked a couple of blocks to the Canada Line Sky Train, and for a couple of bucks arrived at the airport. Much better than the cruise line bus but only for those who are willing to carry their own bags and be willing to navigate the streets and terminal on their own. Ship: The ship has three specialty restaurants (unless you are suite or Aqua Class). However, the Sushi on Five does not serve what I eat so one more would be perfect. They actually have room to put one at the Wine Cellar as a lot of that space seems to go unused. Service: Service was very good to great in most places on the ship. All the crew were extremely friendly. Our cabin steward, Elmer, was absolutely outstanding. Was it because of the $5 I gave him upon meeting him with a promise of another $5 when we debarked? Who knows. But he was great. Herve in Qusine is an absolute kick (I won't spoil the surprise for you but he was entertaining as all get out.) Jovel, the Maitre'd at Tuscan Grill simply could not do enough for us as is true of all of the staff there. And if you talk to these guys as people, many of them are very interesting. Food & Wine: My wife and I are wine and foodie people and their specialty restaurants hit our goals. We attended the Chef's Dinner (3rd time we have done this)---great and memorable experience. We, along with some good friends traveling with us, were joined by two ship's officers. That was it, just the 6 of us. Dinner in the private dining room of Tuscan Grill. Pleasant conversation with the officers including a lot of behind the scenes information. Dinner was outstanding. Wine flowed freely and it was not the cheap stuff. We did Tuscan Grill twice (first night and deep into the cruise) and Qsine one time. And because we signed up for the chef's dinner upon boarding the first day,Tuscan Grill took very special care of us when we were there. We enjoyed all three of those dinners immensely. The main dining room was really poor the second night (many of the entrees were overcooked) but got better each night that we ate there after that. But even on that second night the appetizers were very good. We were on the any time dining plan. I'm not sure I would do that again as I like having a waiter/ass't waiter who knows what I want, etc. With any time dining, some of the wait staff was less attentive/quick than I would like. If that occurred with the 1st or 2nd seating I would say something to the supervisor and expect that the situation would improve. Beverage & Wine Package: We both had this package as one of our perks. I wasn't sure it was going to be a better deal than the $150/person OBC offer. It was and I appreciated the fact that I didn't have to sign for each drink and hear (in my head) the cash register going off. Further, Celebrity had just changed their policy so with the classic package if you ordered a drink over the limit ($9 I think) you only paid the difference, not the entire tab. This is a much fairer approach. Internet experience: It is definitely better than the old system which tended to move like molasses at times. They advertise you can use this for business web conferences and VOIP calls. Maybe at times but not at the times I tried. If a lot of people on the ship are on the internet at the same time then things slow down to too slow for conferences and VOIP. And since you don't know when that will be you can't schedule a web conference. So that was a disappointment. Internet Options: We called before sailing and were told only option was unlimited at approx $200. On board there was, as I recall, a one hour, one day, 100 minutes, and unlimited options. Although the unlimited is expensive, and they do push that option, I'd still go for that as with the others you have to remember to log out or the time just keeps running. Internet Hook Up: My laptop couldn't find the log in page. The web browser just couldn't find it. ILounge guru could not resolve the problem. Unfortunately I allowed him to tweak and change some of my computer settings as he tried to get the laptop to navigate to the log in page; that was a mistake as it significantly disabled my laptop for a while until I was able to back out his changes. We did get credit for half the unlimited charge. Easy solution: log in on phone and create hot spot for laptop. If they want to charge you for two devices, get special dispensation since the laptop won't hook up. Wish I had thought of that then rather than a day later. Ports/Excursions: We rarely take the ship excursions, preferring to plan things for ourselves. I often put together walking tours of the ports we are in along with restaurants for us to stop for lunch. All of the ports were very enjoyable except Nanaimo. There is just nothing I can find to do there. In our pre-cruise planning we just decided to treat it as a "sea day," although we did get off for about an hour just to walk around. This is the second Pacific Coastal Cruise I have taken (both on Celebrity) and I would do it again. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the great mix of ports and sea days and the opportunity to experience the Panama Canal and we were not disappointed. Embarkation and disembarkation was a smooth as silk. The ship was a great size in comparison to the number of passengers and we never felt cramped and were always successful in find a seat in the common areas, theatre, dining room and buffet. The crew was amazing! Always there when you needed them and willing to do whatever they could to improve your experience. The entertainment was not to everyone's taste every night but there was enough variety that we looked forward to seeing the next show. We has an outside cabin which was small as expected but roomy enough and with the outside window gave us great views. The cabin attendant was always around but we never felt like we were tripping over him. He had a great idea of our schedule and quickly learned to work within it. Read Less

This was our second Infinity cruise thru Panama Canal; this time east to west. We had hoped that we would go through the new Panama Canal which is why we took this second trip; however, we did not, but we saw it. Ship had supposedly undergone a "makeover" but we did not notice much done in public areas and/or rooms since our first trip in 2009. We had great service in the dining room and in the casino bar. We took 2 tours offered thru the ship; both were just OK at best. The crocodile/train tour in Costa Rica was great in 2009 but due to the crocs becoming aggressive, feeding of the crocs has stopped--we saw 2 beached crocs! The train ride on an old train was awful and not at all scenic unless you enjoy viewing the impoverished housing. The zoo tour in Guatemala was good for those who have difficulty walking as you drive thru the animal exhibits on the bus. The best tour was one that I arranged for privately in Cartagena with "Dora the Explorer"! We had a private van for the 4 of us and toured the city for 4 hours, going and stopping where and when we wanted. You can contact Dora thru cartagenatour.com. We toured with Dora in 2009 and now in 2017 with Dora's friend Mercedes. This smaller van allowed for us to see parts of the city that the big tour busses cannot access plus we had an engaging dialogue with Mercedes. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY, JUST EXCELLENT! As far as entertainment on the ship, the shows have definitely gone downhill; only the Celebrity singer/dancers provided pretty entertaining shows. As we went through the locks, our expert educator was able to provide a running commentary that was informative and comprehensive. Our dinner staff, Kadek and Mario, were wonderful. Request something one time, and they attended to that request every evening. My room attendant, Yuris, was so attentive. I was disappointed in what seemed to be an excessive number of seminars attempting to sell jewelry, liquor, etc. on the ship. (The seminar on emeralds was excellent, as well as some tips for sightseeing there at the dock.) The guides for the Antigua, kayaking and horseback riding excursions (Guatemala, Colon and Puerto Vallarta) spoke excellent and understandable English and provided us with unexpected and delightful experiences. Alejandro, Nacho and Jeannie were superb at their jobs! I continue to be a big fan of Celebrity Cruises! Read Less

We had never been to South America before and wanted to get to know it, at least in a small way. In all, we were pleasantly surprised. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly... no lines of any significance. Timing is everything regarding embarkation. The ship was nice... well appointed and comfortable. The cabin was spacious... plenty of room for storage and living space.... the veranda was sufficiently large. Our cabin attendant was attentive and very efficient.... friendly as well. The food service people were also very attentive and helpful. However, the food itself left room for improvement. We did no specialty dining, only buffet and MDR. We only did the MDR twice.... it just wasn't up to what we had experienced on other cruises... RCL & NCL. We liked the rooftop terrace.... the movies were good. Entertainment was mixed.... better entertainment on other cruises. The "production" shows were very good, the individual entertainers were mixed. Luigi, the cruise director, was great. Gina was good with the trivia activities. We especially enjoyed various tastings given by Toby from Manchester in Cellar Masters.... his knowledge and presentations were great. The spa was good.... we got a subscription to the Persian Gardens and liked it very much! The shore excursions we took were well organized. The time we had in each port was too limited. We really enjoyed the Panama Canal.... crossing the equator... not so much. We had crossed it before.... but at 35,000 feet. The ship provided a lot of background on the Panama Canal, which made it more meaningful. A real positive was not being hounded by the ship's photography department... we really appreciated that! One last thing.... don't expect towel animals. And, this ship is not oriented for youngsters... no waterpark, no slide, etc. The average age for this cruise was in the 70's.... we felt young. This trip was chosen because of its itinerary and starting point in Valparaiso, Chile. We upgraded to the highest balcony level but room 7112 was very tiny although the location was great. Really hard for two people to share the room, barely space to pass by each other at the foot of the bed. Next time we'll go Concierge Class to a slightly bigger space. The public spaces on this ship have been remodeled at some recent point and are spacious and lovely. Lots of spots to sit and look out at the beautiful ocean and fun ports. We especially loved Cafe al Bacio because the baristas have been well-trained and they pull terrific espressos and cappuccino drinks. Not so for any of the ports we visited in places that supposedly have great coffee. Embarkation was smooth and easy, but it took a long time and disembarkation was not well-organized. The cruise line lost a bottle of Pisco we bought in Chile that they were keeping for us. We will get a refund but it's not the same to buy it here in the US! The cruise director on this ship was Luigi, a young guy from the Dominican Republic with huge amounts of energy and charm. Everyone was encountered was friendly and helpful, and we even interacted a couple of times with senior staff who were delightful. Entertainment all 14 nights was excellent, with great singers, an unusual ventriloquist who was not what one expected, and a fabulous show on the last night. The one group we didn't like was a Canadian couple who had performed with Cirque de Soleil and did physical comedy that fell flat with this group. As for the ports: Arica, Chile is very small and poor, but the tour we went on, Taste of Arica, was actually fun. However, since there were 40 people and one guide, we definitely should have had little headsets so we could hear what she had to say. The tasting part came all at the end and we enjoyed mango and passion fruit juice, olive paste, some different cheeses, and jams. I would have loved to try things in the market as there were so many unusual and different foods we do not have in the US. Manta, Ecuador was also small and the tour of the Panama Hats workshops (all in the basement of people's houses; you'd never know they are there) was very interesting. We were told the cruise line doesn't have many options in some of these countries - if they want to stop, they pay hefty amounts and the countries think some of the small cities should get the benefit of cruise ships and tours. In Manta with the exception of watching the demonstration of hats and the making of jute bags, there was nothing else to do or see as there really is no city center, per se. I would have preferred a different port. Lima, Peru, and Cartagena, Colombia were both fun places to visit: lively, great food, interesting sights and we enjoyed two private tours with Viator. Colon is rather unattractive and not a place to linger - so we were glad to be on a tour of the beautiful colonial part of the city, to see the ruins from Captain Henry Morgan, and even to drive around the new Panama with all its skyscrapers. It's amazing that all of these towns had lots of traffic at all hours! Wish we could have docked in Panama City rather than Colon. Going through the Panama Canal was awesome - we were in front of the helipad at 6:30am and stood there for a couple of hours, spellbound. It was also beautiful cruising on the lake between the locks. This was our first celebrity cruise and we selected it for the itinerary as we were planning a short visit to Chile. We spent time in Santiago, Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar before embarkation. The boarding process in Valparaiso was a bit confusing for our driver to find the correct gate. The main port and ship were much farther west than the port entrance. Once in the building we found a very short Aqua Class line and spend through checkin. We were very impressed by the cabin and our steward Noel. Daily canapes and iced tea were a nice afternoon touch. Infinity was in very nice shape. She is older and there is some rust, stains and worn areas. Throughout the cruise we saw staff repainting, cleaning and varnishing hand rails. They work hard to keep her in good shape. We enjoyed the common areas, theater and lounges. Again the staff is exceptional and makes you feel welcome, especially at the Oceanview bar. The buffet was fine for breakfast but dinner and lunch seemed too similar. We enjoyed the food but nothing was amazing. Blu was a wonderful dining experience. The setting and presentation of food were interesting and the meals were very good. We tried several enrichment lectures, games and trivia and found the staff eager to please and make sure we were having fun. There are also plenty of areas to relax and read or nap. With 7 sea days they had a lot of entertaining to do. Port visits were nice with some towns like Lima and Cartagena being excellent. We only took one Celebrity tour in Panama and it was fine. The Panama Canal was the highlight for me. I spent the whole day wandering and photographing. The narration provided by a guest speaker was ok but not available all through the ship. If you do the canal watch the first locks from your room or an aft area as the prime spots all fill up quickly. After the first set of locks many loose interest and the top deck, helo pad and other prime spots are wide open. We like this medium size ship and enjoyed our cruise with Celebrity. I can't speak for how it was better in the past but the staff makes everyone feel welcome and the ship is just fine. Read Less

Our cruises have mostly been with Celelbrity, RCL and Azamara but we have noticed a considerable drop in the quality of the food served. For example, on a cruise in hot climes one would not expect to have stewed meat on the menu every day in the Oceanview and they appear to be going for cheaper cuts than before. So far as the cabin was concerned, It was disappointng to have a duvet cover with an obvious tear in it and we were surprised the steward didn't notice it and change it. The cleanliness of our cabin was definitely not up to standard - I ran my finger over the top of the base of the bedside lamps and it was thick with dust and whilst I do not expect the carpets to be hoovered every day as I know these guys have a limited time to do everything but I think 3 dys without hoovering is bit too long and the reason I know this is because the bits I saw on the carpets did not disappear until after the 3rd day. Generally speaking I would say Celebrity are not the cruise company they used to be and are simply out to wring every penny out of its guests but I think they are probably not any different from any other cruise company. . . This was a memorable cruise after completing our two week journey in Peru and Chile . My husband and I chose to discover Machu Picchu on our own prior to embarcation in Valparaiso. When we arrived at the port on embarkation day prepared to receive our seapass with our stateroom information in aqua class we soon realized we were upgraded to a Ski Suite , we were overjoyed , surprised , elated and ready for our South American / Panama Canal crusing experience. We really enjoyed the Luminae restaurant . The portions were spot on perfect , delicious and many varieties to choose from at breakfast , lunch and dinner . We did not take advantage enough of Micheals Club , another great relaxing area to meet great people . The entertainment was very good as well . What we really enjoyed with our new friends were the Silent Disco nights . Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We had never been to that part of the world. The canal itself is a wonder to behold. To imagine such a feat being accomplished over 100 years ago is amazing. The activity staff was terrific...went out of their way to keep us busy! We participated in many shipboard activities and this added to our fun experience. We were fortunate to have almost perfect weather, with rain at night and sun during the day. The entertainment was terrific, we went to a show every night, and enjoyed them all. The ports we visited were all interesting....and we went on excursions at each port and enjoyed them all. We met lovely people on board, were seated at a great table and enjoyed our dining experience. I would highly recommend this itinerary to others & have already done so. Nice itinerary for someone who has never traveled to South America or cruised through the Panama Canal. We chose this cruise because it had a good combination of days at sea and Port stops. The Infinity is an older ship and not as up to date at the Solstice Class of ships that Celebrity offers. The overall cruise was outstanding, the service,entertainment and cleanliness was top notch. It would have added to the cruise experience if Celebrity brought back music and entertainment in between the early and late seating's in the main areas of the ship. The Beyond the Podium series of lectures with Bill Fall and MickeyLive were excellent! Interesting and educational. Great way to spend an hour or two during the sea days. I have been on a number of Celebrity Cruises and I believe along with many of my ship mates that the entertainment on board was fantastic. The right combination of different acts, that were very entertaining. The food on board was adequate, about what you would expect on a cruise. I booked my own excursions and was very satisfied with the results for each port. The Ports for the most part were interesting especially Colon, where we took a tour of the Rainforest, the Canal, and other interesting sights in the area. The historic area of Cartagena was worthwhile and interesting. Manta, Equador not a highlight stop for this cruise. I enjoyed Arica Chile and the last stop of Valapariso. All in all a worthwhile cruise, and one I would HIGHLY recommend Read Less

Guest entertainment and speakers were very very good. We loved Bill Fall, Mickey Live and Dr Sherry. The only negative on entertainment was scheduling. We would have loved music more around the pool and more venues before dinner. The ports were great. We appreciated how celebrity would shuttle you to the center of town as it could be dangerous which was the case and many other cities. The celebrity excursions were hit in this. We left ours in Cologne Panama and it was a good dad considering we were out most of the day. Others had issues with the excursions and had to fight to get refunds from the excursions do not go as planned. Overall we thought the excursions were expensive for what you were actually getting. We recommend getting excursions on your own. Read Less

We live in Vancouver, so for us the ship was a two-stop train ride on the Canada Line. Because of the royal visit at Canada Place that morning, and with 3 ships docked, we went down to the pier at 9:30 where the port had organized the embarcations to come in at one end of the terminal and the disembarcations to leave via the other end. The process was very efficient and we were checked in and had our seapass card by 10:00 am. After security and a stop to get our photos taken, we were on board by 11:00 am. This avoided the inevitable line-ups and we got to enjoy the ship that much earlier. The ship is 15 years old and has had some renovations and changes made recently, but this was our first time on a Millenium-Class ship and we were looking forward to seeing it. Ship Design Pros: The Constellation Lounge on deck 11 at the front is a very tastefully-decorated room with great colour choices and a variety of seating areas. We enjoyed cocktails there most afternoons. The left side has a large chunk walled off where a children’s area was created, and the effect is somewhat imbalanced architecturally, but otherwise a great room. The theatre was very much like that in the former Mercury, with illuminated glass tables in front of pairs of seats, and they just begged for a couple of glasses of wine to be set on them for the shows. It is a feature which would be great to see on the Solstice class ships. The rooftop terrace at the back of the ship was a very pleasant sitting area with comfortable wicker furniture. The main dining room (MDR) was in an older style, much like Mercury, but a sumptuous room in which one could enjoy the excellent meals. Ship Design Cons: The Martini bar lacks the expansive sitting area of the Solstice class and seems rather cramped, though the bar itself is very recognizeable. Cellarmasters straddles the only throughway aft to the upper level of the MDR, and so, unlike the Solstice class, it is a room with constant through traffic and line-ups when an MDR dinner sitting is about to start. It also does not have the wine cellar stonework and beams, and though a pleasant and generally quiet place to sit, is closer to being a second version of the Rendezvous lounge one deck below. The Tuscan Grill on deck 3 has completely replaced the SS United States restaurant, even though the deck plans and the web site still show the latter. It is a simple rectangular room on the starboard side of the ship and instead of the expansive picture windows over the stern and the wake, it has porthole-style picture windows looking sideways. I was not wowed by the décor which looked much like any decent family restaurant ashore. We only had breakfasts there. Cabin: We had a Concierge class balcony cabin on deck 8 forward. It was a typical size although the narrow entrance passageway meant that the closet doors on the one side always conflicted with the bathroom door on the other side. Closet and drawer space was just fine, although the under-bed space for suitcases could have been just a little higher. Verandah furniture was attractive with two modern-styled metal and web chairs and a full-height table. The TV was a flat-screen though awkwardly-placed at an angle to the left of the bed and well to the left of the sofa. Food and Service: The MDR food was batting a good 95% - excellent food, nicely prepared and attractively presented. Only a poor Steak-Diane turned up with enough gristle and fat that it was not a pleasant entrée. Since this high standard is consistent on Celebrity in our experience, as a result there was no need for us to use the specialty restaurants which are getting pricey these days. Dining room service was excellent and the staff quickly learned that we preferred to have the wine order turn up before we ordered the food. We found them attentive, efficient and very pleasant. Room staff is now down to a single Steward per room – gone are the assistant stewards. He has a lot of work on his plate, but was consistently helpful and pleasant. For Concierge class, afternoon canapés arrived just before 4:00 pm, and were among the best we have had on Celebrity. The Captain’s Club Hostess, Alexandra, was one of the most pleasant and efficient people we have come across on the ships, and really deserves high kudos for making things happen. She is one of these rare people who is solution-oriented rather than stuck on obstacles. MDR Seating: This is our one ongoing beef and is not limited to Celebrity. Tables for 2 tend to be mostly those separated from other tables for 2 by a 6 inch space. We were first assigned to an upper balcony table with 2 other tables for 2, making it effectively a table for 6. It was hard to ignore the couples next to us. The Maitre d’ said he could fix this the second night and then we got assigned to a similar table, only it had only one table beside it, making it a table for 4. At this point we went to the Captain’s Club Hostess who arranged that we would get a real table for two with decent separation from the other tables. This worked well and we were very pleased with the space. Since there is ample room for most of these to be better separated, it is a mystery to me why the ships continue to think that close proximity meets the wishes of those who request a table for two, which by its nature suggests that they really are looking for some privacy. Entertainment: The theatre shows were quite excellent. The best were the all-cast shows which were extremely well done and a delight to watch and listen to. There were a couple of ‘comedians’, one of which we missed and the other of which we walked out on after only 5 minutes. We have yet to find good comedians on cruise ships – roll on the music! Drinks: We are mostly wine drinkers and we have learned that beverage packages do not suit us because of the number of glasses we have to consume per day just to break even on the per person per day charges. We bought a 7-bottle Premium wine package for $299 US plus gratuity. The Classic package is $249, and there are 3 and 5-bottle packages available as well. Comparing this cost with the average price per bottle from the MDR wine list showed that we were getting an average of 20% off the per bottle price. These packages are only listed in the MDR wine list (the last two pages) and can not be ordered online or at the Beverage Package stand on embarkation. Our one beef in this area was that Celebrity have recently raised the gratuity on all drinks to 18% from 15%. That said the drink prices were not as high as we had been led to believe which was a pleasant surprise. My one martini on board cost $12 and was one of the nicest I have had anywhere. Ports: The itinerary along the Pacific Coast from Vancouver to San Diego and then back to San Francisco has long been on our bucket list, and although we had been to each of the ports by car over the years, we enjoyed visiting them by cruise ship. This meant that we did not need to do shore excursions which was quite a cost saving. In Seattle, we were delighted that Celebrity was able to dock at the Bell Street pier, right below the Pike Street Market, rather than 3 miles northwest at the Terminal 91 dock, and this saved us time on bus rides into town. Customs was arranged for arrival in Seattle and this went off smoothly, putting us ashore by 10:00 am. It would be appropriate to close, favourably, with our disembarkation in San Francisco. I should perhaps comment that we were at Pier 35 which appears to be an overflow cruise terminal, and on stepping into the perfectly clean, rather antique large shed on the pier, our noses told us that this must have been a cow barn for much of its life! We had booked a transfer to the airport through Celebrity, and with a late flight (8:00 pm) our assigned 10:00 am disembarkation time was ideal. We sat up on the pool deck which avoided the congestion below. The process went very smoothly, we immediately found our baggage ashore and we were shepherded to waiting buses for the transfer. This whole process was so well organized I have to commend Celebrity on their efficiency. The weather – blue skies and sunshine the entire voyage, even in Astoria! Read Less

We chose this cruise for the ports. We really enjoyed all of them. I would highly recommend this itinerary. As far as the cruise experience, we were slightly disappointed in the shows in the theater. The guest entertainers were pretty good, but the ships production entertainers were something you would expect to see on a Carnival ship or something of lesser quality. With the exception of the two Russian acrobats, they were awesome. We also detected a little bit of an attitude from some of the workers about the ship when we asked for information or help. But that was the exception and not the rule. The ship was fantastic. It had just been remodeled. Everything was in top shape. The sea days seemed to lack the normal amount of activities. Possibly due to cutbacks, but there were only two, so not a big deal. Celebrity has the nicest spa area of all the companies we have sailed with. We love the bubble pool. The food in both the dining room and the buffet is great. There were always a wide variety to choose from. All in all we had a great time, and we would do this cruise again. My wife, daughter, and I have been on a dozen plus cruises. Timing and only flying one way were the reasons for booking this cruise. I had read that embarkation in San Diego was not always smooth. We received an e-mail saying our arrival time was 12 noon. We parked in an offsite long term lot and the driver dropped us a little after noon where he always dropped off cruisers. However, no one was there to take our luggage. We had to walk across the drop zone by the parking lot. Then started a 45 minute plus process of walking thru a maze of lines. I never understood what the problem was. But, soon we had mimosas in our hands and we were ready for our adventure. I had read that the dining room would be open for lunch so we went there first. Alas, being Select we were ushered to the buffet as only suite occupants and elites were being served. This was the first of several occurrences (for us) where seats in the theater, tables in the buffet, and dining room locations were reserved. It is nice to have loyalty perks - but I was disappointed. Another disappointment was the buffet. No matter what the time, the buffet was shutting down and closing. And there was little or nothing for midnight munchies. So we ordered room service - but there is now a charge for room service after 11 PM. And there are fewer free choices. I admit I need to lose some pounds, but that was not why I was on this cruise. Further, the Oceanview buffet had the same selection every day and it wasn't very good. Some days I'd settle for pasta or eat a lot of cheeseburgers - often bringing extras into the buffet for my wife and daughter. With so many port days when lunch is not served in the dining room, these were the choices - or head to the cabin for a club sandwich from room service. This was very disappointing. The other disappointment with food was Cafe al Bacio. Don't get me wrong - The food is great: cookies, pies, and cakes. The team behind the counter wanted to focus on making drinks so if the line got too long they'd ask people to sit and wait for the server to ask what they wanted. The servers usually avoided my family and I until we waved ridiculously and hopped in front of them because we wanted the free stuff - cookies, cake, and pies. We didn't want wine or coffee. I guess that means we should get ignored. We had our meals in the main dining room (breakfast and dinner). Our wait staff of Hamza and Ismail were excellent as were our table mates. Always ready with suggestions and they learned of my sweet tooth quickly. Overall, we felt there were fewer menu choices. The menu 80% of the time left you going for one of the everyday items. Thank goodness there was a steak option so my family and I had a lot of that. Hamsa always came over to our table at breakfast to say hello. On every cruise I've been on, at least the Assistant Maitre D' goes through the dining room on the first night to welcome everyone. We had made a special request a few times with our waiter for souffles, a request we were able to get one night on the Celebrity Transatlantic cruise. It was probably the 3rd or 4th night Amir our Asst Maitre D' came over with the pastry chef and said we'd have to go to the specialty restaurant for that. No exceptions. We had also requested cherries jubilee which he said was the next night. Normally in customer service, you follow-up with people. He knew we wanted cherries jubilee and we ordered it so wouldn't you have expected Amir to swing by and ask if we enjoyed it? Shouldn't he have at least said goodbye on the last night? As it turns out, he was the same Maitre D' on the Alaskan cruise we took last year on a Solstice class ship. He was rude then and made our trip miserable. I blame myself for putting up with it then - and I'm disappointed I was unable to retract all his tips from us on this trip - I missed the deadline for that. And the Cherries Jubilee were the worst I have ever tasted to add insult to injury.:). This is a dish that is supposed to have alcohol (brandy, cognac, etc) added then flambéed. While they cant flambé in the dining room, apparently they can't in the kitchen either because there was no alcohol added. It almost tasted like cherries in cough syrup . We had excellent cabin stewards (Winston and Roberto) as well as excellent dining team (Hamza and Ismail). They were always prompt and courteous and engaged in conversation. They'd even make sure the room was ready before we returned from breakfast and the show before dinner. The pool bars on previous cruises had the best burgers, brauts, turkey burgers, etc. But not on the infinity. Burgers, hotdogs, and fries were still available and turkey burgers if you were willing to wait. No brauts. One of the reasons I choose Celebrity is because they pay a little more attention to their jobs for extraordinary service and perks. I like walking around the ship and always see it being worked on (painting, cleaning, repairs, etc) because it means the crew values cleanliness and keeping up its pristine appearance. This was consistent with the Infinity and most of the crew was very friendly. On another line I will never forget the vision of crew in hazmat suits cleaning up messes from ill passengers in the dining room. We saw the Captain at the Captain's Welcome. On some cruises I have found the captain and his senior officers to be very visible. However on this cruise, we rarely saw him or his senior officers. . The backstage tour and wine tasting for captain's club members was also a nice touch. Unfortunately I did not receive an announcement for the Cruise Critic gathering. The celebrity singers and dancers were the best group I have seen. Try to get to their performances. Disembarking in Vancouver was easy to get off of the ship - Only to join a 60 minute plus cab line. We have lived on the west coast for 40 plus years and knew the ports well. However, there is much to see since our visit a few years back. I would have preferred overnighting in Seattle as there are many things to see and do. Even with all the food disappointment, we are still considering booking another cruise. Unfortunately for us Californians, Celebrity doesn't really go out of or return into Los Angeles/San Pedro or San Diego. It is too bad there isn't a roundtrip CA to Hawaii cruise available (just one way cruises). We also considered Panama Canal, but the timing doesn't work. With just a little more attention especially with the food - this would have been a great cruise instead of just a good cruise.:) Read Less

Had only been on a 3-day cruise years ago so this was a big cup hangs for me. Went with 5 girlfriends and we had a wonderful time. I want to mention we arrived in Santiago a day early and used that time to tour Santiago. The next day we toured in route to Valparaiso and in that city itself too as we did not board until after 3 pm. I highly recommend our guide and his team, Thomas Poussard www.chileprivatetours.com +56-9-81724441 Not only were we met at the airport, he took care of our luggage, got us to our hotel and after a brief break we started our tour. Thomas is fluent in English, French and Spanish..and I believe he speaks other languages as well. His driver, Jorge, a Chilean, was also excellent and safe. Thomas did an excellent job in selecting highlights for us to tour in Santiago, adjusted to our physical limitations as not all of us could do a lot of walking. I will use his Company again when I return to Chile. Back to Celebrity, this ship,is small compared to many, about 2100 passengers, and yet provides all the amenities you would expect. I could not have been happier with this second experience. The crew/staff were all, without exception, positive smiling people. Everyone wanted to be sure all of us were happy and well. I enjoyed the food and tried all the fare included restaurants, plus the Bistro on Five which was a nice change and not pricey. I like to do a water workout in the pool so was quite happy there was ample room for me each morning along with those who chose to do laps. The cruise director, Eddy, was and is a genuinely nice person who was always upbeat and available. His entertainment offerings were varied and I think covered many passengers likes. The resident musicians were outstanding and I don't say that lightly. This experience convinced me I want to do more cruising! Read Less
