We bought our tickets in November but most of the other passengers bought theirs far earlier than us. However Celebrity failed to let us know the ship was only sailing with one propeller which slowed down its performance so much that we arrived in Ushuaia seven hours after the scheduled time. All tours were rushed and by the time we finished the tour all shops and museums were closed for the day. It was our intention to visit this far away place thoroughly and experience the life here. Then we were supposed to circle Cape Horn, but the ship just went a little north then turned around. When we got to Elephant Bay the ship was not able to get close to the shore because it did not have enough force. We did not stop in Port Stanley because of the weather and our next stop, Port Madryn, was canceled. We were on board for 12 days out of the 14-day cruise. This ship was working with only one propeller for a long time. Celebrity was well aware of this problem yet it chose not to disclose it so as not give the passengers the right to cancel the trip without penalties. It is still sailing north and back to Antartica without any plans to stop to fix the problem. Read Less

Disappointing Celebrity infinity Cruise of the Adriatic Sea Our recent cruise of the Adriatic Sea on Celebrity infinity was disappointing. We had just completed a seven day family cruise of the Western Mediterranean on Norwegian Epic and the difference in the quality of our experience between the two cruises was quite marked. We have been loyal Celebrity customers for well over ten years having cruised with the cruise line on twelve previous occasions with a further three with the broader RCI Group. We have noted a quiet but steady decline in the quality of the Celebrity product over the past couple cruises. This decline in standards on virtually all measures is now quite stark and, overall, we were very disappointed in the cruise experience on a number of levels. The bad experience started with the very poor handling of a passport/visa issue (not of our making) at check-in. The passport control officials were in our view, officious and uncommunicative, and it took over one and a half hours to sort the problem out. We are still not aware precisely what the issue was but the whole process was frustrating and distressing and got the whole cruise experience off to a bad start. The bad vibes we were getting about the ship were compounded by a massive misunderstanding about a Captains Club loyalty on-board credit that Celebrity disputed had been offered despite us producing documentary evidence downloaded from the Celebrity website, that the loyalty credit had indeed been applied. In an almost two hour wrangle at the front office desk , where we were even virtually accused of fabricating the document and the Guest Relations official with whom we dealt made it perfectly clear that the onus was on us to prove the on-board credit was genuine. He kept on insinuating that the credit was something that our travel agent must have offered and could not grasp the simple fact that it was a Celebrity Captains Club loyalty credit that was in dispute. The whole process was distressing and embarrassing and necessitated us having to contact our travel agent back in South Africa who in turn had to contact Celebrity head office in Miami to confirm the loyalty credit was a Celebrity benefit that should have been automatically applied without question. Despite our agent being assured by Miami that the credit was indeed genuine and should have been automatically applied to our account, and that they would confirm this fact directly with the ship, it took a further two days for the matter to be satisfactorily put to bed and this, only after the intercession of the Concierge Class Concierge who personally undertook to see the matter to a satisfactory resolution. All in all an unnecessarily unpleasant experience for which we receive absolutely no apology from Guest Relations for the poor manner in which this matter had been dealt. We had cruised on the Infinity on two previous occasions. Signs of wear and tear are evident everywhere confirming the need for the vessel to undergo a major refurbishment which we understand is scheduled within a year or so. This cannot come too soon. Furnishings and fittings are in a bad state of repair in many areas, notably the buffet restaurant. Pool towels were threadbare and often torn while pool loungers were out of shape, smelly, stained and had clearly seen better days. Celebrity have probably decided not to spend any more on the Infinity until it undergoes its refurbishment. If this is the case it is a policy that should be reconsidered because frankly, the standard of the pool furnishings in particular, are disgusting and certainly not what one should or could expect from a five star cruise liner. On the positive side, the ship’s hard working cleaning and maintenance staff do an admirable job in trying to keep this ageing vessel in reasonable shape. Decline in standards in many other areas were also evident. As examples, the quality of amenities in Concierge Class staterooms is now notably inferior. Food quality in the buffet restaurant was probably the worst we have yet experienced on any cruise we have taken. Variety and standard of beverages included in the Classic package has clearly been reduced in an obvious attempt to persuade passengers to upgrade to the Premium package. Not all was negative though. We were privileged to sail the beautiful Adriatic Coast visiting some quaint, interesting ports along the way. We found the food quality and presentation in the main dining room to be generally of very good standard. Celebrity’s crème brulees still rank with the best! We actually had a meal at the speciality Tuscan Grille and frankly, thought the standard of fare in the main dining room was better. We also dined twice at the speciality Sushi on 5 dining venue and thoroughly enjoyed our meal on both occasions. Entertainment, as we usually find on cruise ships, was a bit iffy. The main production shows were some of the best we have yet experienced and these shows were supplemented by performances from a top class card magician and a classically trained operatic quartet who had reached the finals of Britain’s Got Talent. Really good. On the other hand, some of the other musical entertainers performing around the ship were of no more than basic cruise ship standard. We cannot conclude this somewhat negative review without a “shout out” to the hard working staff and crew who at all times provided friendly, efficient and attentive service and, even at trying times, almost invariably with a smile. Even when one is having a bad day, the friendly smiles and greeting we received form the Celebrity team, helped make the bad day or bad experience just that little bit less of an issue! We have been loyal Celebrity aficionados for many years having attained Elite Plus status a number of years back so our commitment to the Celebrity brand cannot be questioned. However, our less than happy experiences on this cruise, coupled with our perceptions of a steady decline in the standard of the Celebrity product offering, are making us seriously question whether we will ever cruise with Celebrity again. For the first time in many years we have not booked another Celebrity cruise while we were on board. However, we have already booked cruises on Costa (an Indian Ocean destination specific cruise of which our expectations are not too high save for the bucket list destinations we will be visiting), and a Viking cruise from Bergen to Barcelona. It will be informative to see how these two highly diverse product offerings compare to what has been our preferred brand for so many years. Read Less

Spent three days in Vancouver prior to the cruise. Embarkation was a nightmare, long queues. Carried our own bags when leaving therefore disembarkation went smoothly. The ship is tired looking, cabin was clean although the curtains, bed valance were torn. Bathroom had a musty smell which was sorted by our cleaner. Dining room was fine, great service and food was ok, ate here for breakfast and evening meal. The OceanView was a nightmare, queues, no room to eat, tables were not vacated and not asked to move even though there were signs. People were having to eat standing up. On the plus side, the cleaning and dining room staff were excellent. Entertainment wasn't brilliant, enjoyed the lectures. Port excursions were ok, I found all three ports very similar and boring. Enjoyed Hubbard glacier very much. In my opinion the company is only interested in taking as much money off passengers as everything seemed to cost extra I will not cruise with Celebrity again. Anytime dining meant waiting 1/2 to 1 1/2 hours to be seated because they were reserving too many unoccupied tables for large families. Children running on stage during performances. When we boarded, there was an error. Over the next 3 days, I had to be at the main desk 4 times. Because of the long lines and the many errors for other passengers, this meant over 3 hours of my vacation time wasted to correct the original error otherwise I would not have been able to get on and off the ship. They never fully corrected the benefits that I was due to my having been on 4 previous Celebrity cruises. In order to get a table, we had to eat at 6:30. The person seating us had a hard time finding our table because everything had been rearranged to accommodate the large families. Some of the waitstaff were so flustered that it was difficult for them to get the proper food to our table. When it finally came to us, it was not always cooked properly. The sushi restaurant ran out of items on the third day of the cruise. This specialty restaurant was overtaxed and the food was no better than your corner home town restaurant. I wonder how they justify charging extra for this. The tours would come back at the same time. If you were not an Aqua or Suite or Concierge class passenger and the ship was tendered, you would have to wait over an hour in line to get back on board. The cruise staff was flustered because many of the parents did not care to supervise their children and they were scared to upset the parents. Activities were missed because of bad communication. Recommended by travel agent. upon boarding the celebrity infinity we proceeded to the buffet lunch, as we awaited access to our aqua class room. we were immediately set upon by the waiters & waitresses trying to have us sign up for the daily "drinks package" @ (us)$55.00 per day per person plus an 18% gratuity. (if there were 2 persons in a room, both had to buy the "drinks package"). since my wife and i usually share a bottle of wine with dinner, we were definitely not interested in the "drinks package" which included only drinks by the glass and not bottles of wine with dinner. when we repeatedly declined the alcoholic drinks package we were then pressured to buy the non-alcoholic package or the bottled water package. One of the reasons we chose aqua class was to have access the aqua blu dining room, which was designated for aqua class passengers only. the wait staff in the blu dining room were all excellent and very cordial and most food was fine but the new york and ribeye steaks were meager and so thin that all the steaks, we were served, well done!! while we could afford it, we were not inclined the pay a us$45.00 per person cover charge to go to the tuscan dining room to try to get "decent steak". All drinks were accessed an 18% gratuity, including a small bottle of water which was sold for us$3.00 (total us$3.54). it should be noted that 2 small bottles of water were initially provided in our room at no additional cost. Internet cost of us$249.00 for one (1) week is excessive, in our opinion!! Library extremely small for 2170 passengers. During may, 2017, my wife and i took an all-inclusive cruise with regent through the middle east and when comparing the costs on a daily basis between celebrity and regent (for the cruise, all beverages, gratuities & internet) the all-inclusive regent cruise was much less expensive!!!! And when taking into account that most of regent's tours were included in the cruise cost, regent was even more economically attractive. we came to understand why numerous other regent cruisers we spoke with sailed with regent repeatedly. First time on Celebrity. We were excited to cruise Celebrity, as friends had recommended the line. Unfortunately we had no idea that the ship for this cruise would be an old ship that was built as plain as it could be. No glory what so ever. What we didn’t like is: 1. Price paid for the cruise was very high for what we received. 2. Cabins were very small. 3. Options included as part of the cabin package did not mean anything to Celebrity as they had excuses not to comply with some of them, Eg. Priority boarding, reliable internet, use of public rooms occupied by a large private group on a daily basis. 4. Celebrity personnel in-charge were not very accommodating with the passengers and preferred to be at a distance rather than being part of the cruise. Eg. if a passenger was in need of help they would try to get you to go to someone else and the problem would not be solved. 5. Purchased a special dinning package to find that the food and service at the main restaurant Trellis was superior to the Tuscan restaurant. What we liked the best: 1. Room up keep service 2. Dining and bar service 3. Food at the Trellis and Blue. Overall I would have to read many reviews before I would consider going on another Celebrity cruise. Read Less

We scheduled a charter music trip and the charter company is using the Infinity for the entertainment spaces available. I can understand that. We have sailed on Windstar, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival. This ship by far had the worst food selection and service of any. The Trellis dining room served several meals that were basically inedible. I was served the wrong steak at one meal and the server disappeared immediately without checking food quality. My wife had a steak and called it “old meat” that should have not been selected. My chicken was dry and tasteless. Some of the food came out so quickly that we knew they were under a warmer for awhile. A few meals were good. The ship is dated and sorely in need of refurb which is supposed to happen late in 2020. The carpets are worn but at least the pool areas seem to be nicely kept. The indoor pool is a nice touch. Our cabin (7081) was OK, but we noticed some of the bed linens were dirty and there were loose tiles in the shower. The cabin attendant said they could not fix the tile because it took 6 hours to set. We offered to work with them but to no avail. We are booking the same room next year and I bet the tiles will still be loose! If it weren’t for the charter company using this boat, I’d probably not sail on Celebrity again just due to the food quality and poor dining room service. Read Less

I chose this cruise for its reputation. Embarkation and disembarkation was hassle free. The luggage reached rooms quickly. we were welcomed by our room attendant warmly. The hospitality was good; entertainment was good. The evening shows were mainly music. The catering staff was good and tried to provide best service. i have Indian taste. There were Indian dishes every day. We got to eat Paw Bhaji and Chole Bhaturay. There were two swimming pools but no one could really swim, you could sit and walk in them. However, it was a good experience in the pool. The outdoor pool area was mainly was for smokers. Even if I am non smoker I had to cross that for reaching indoor swimming pool. There was a lot of pushing to buy payable things particularly drinks. I bought alcohol drinks package but a lot of time I was told that a particular drink i wanted was not included in package. After disembarkation I noticed that i had been charged twice for every thing. I rang customer services twice and they agreed to refund the money but it is now three weeks since but I have not received full refund. Read Less

We are longtime cruisers, with at least 13 cruises and over 110 days at sea. My point is we have cruised before; Caribbean, Transatlantic, Bermuda, Alaska, Pacific coast. We’ve been on Princess, HAL, NCL, Carnival and Celebrity. With that background here is my review of my Pacific Coast cruise on Celebrity’s Infinity 9/17-24/2017. We booked this cruise based 100% on the itinerary. It started in Vancouver, then Seattle, Astoria OR, sea day, San Francisco, Monterey CA, Santa Barbara CA and ended in Laos Angeles. The Infinity is beginning to show its age. The décor and artwork are not up to today’s standards, wear and tear was evident in many places, but all things considered it is a good ship. The staterooms were bigger than I expected and the baths were spacious compared to many others. The ship’s layout was pretty typical, we had no trouble finding anything and after a day or so easily found our way around the ship. The entertainment seemed to be a cut above what we’ve seen elsewhere. The magician Chris Funk was very entertaining, funny and mystifying. He did an evening show and an afternoon up close show. Both were well attended and well accepted. Lou Gazzara is a very talented singer from Las Vegas that also did an evening show and an afternoon performance. The final headliner was a Billy Joel tribute performer that played piano and sung. I didn’t record his name but I wish I had, he was also excellent. And to show he was willing to do whatever was needed for us to have great entertainment, the piano player for Lou Gazzara couldn’t perform that night and he filled in on the piano. But we all cruise for the food don’t we? Breakfast and lunch were as expected, all the standards and more (a poached egg station?) were available, no surprises, no disappointments. Our dinner staff was excellent. For some reason there were 6 empty tables around us and our seven top was our staff’s only table. The five dinners we ate there were all first rate. No complaints. Qsine is a $45 specialty restaurant that is as much an experience as it is a meal. Every diner is given an iPad as the menu. There are 20 choices and if you like you can get them all. Each is a small plate and I believe we had 7 plus dessert for the two of us. Each item was a work of art and even though the menu described the items each was a surprise when it hit the table. I highly recommend checking it out. It’s very hard to get everything perfect, and the two failures on this cruise were bad enough for us to decide we will not return to Celebrity. The first was the Chef’s Table dinner. These are usually only offered once per cruise and only seat a few people. We had 8 guests and an officer at the table. I think the best way to describe the Celebrity’s Chef’s Table (CTC) is to compare it to our last Princess CT. The Princess CT (PCT) started the day before, we all met with the Executive Chef and Sommelier to discuss the menu and our likes/dislikes/allergies, etc. They then went off to prepare the food and wine pairing. The CTC started with an invitation in our cabin stating time and place to meet. Both CTs met outside the galley. PCT gave us all white chef’s jackets and taught us proper handwashing technique before allowing us to proceed. They then brought us into the galley where we again met the Executive Chef and the Sommelier. There was an ice carving on a table surrounded by appetizers on a spoon and a small glass of wine for each of us. The next app was also served there, with another wine. We then toured the galley, hung up our jackets and were led to a table. Each seat had a small loaf of bread with our name written in chocolate for a place card. CTC met outside the galley, we posed for a group picture, then went on a brief galley tour. From there we were led to our table and found our seats by the paper nametags. On the PCT we were served more appetizers (a total of 6), each arriving on a tray with fresh cut flowers. Followed by soup and sorbet. The main course was Roast Veal Shank and Beef Tenderloin carved tableside, followed by dessert. The CTC had one appetizer, soup and salad. Sorbet was on the menu but not served. Main course was a choice of Filet or Turbot. Dessert was a “Chocolate Sphere. “ a hollow ball of chocolate filled with a fruit filling. They told us that usually they light the chocolate and it melts into a smooth dessert but for safety they would not light them. Instead we had to use our spoons to break our way through the hard shell to get to the inside. It may have been good melted, but as served everyone just had a few bites and pushed it away. PCT cost $200/couple, CTC was $250/couple. We left very disappointed. Second problem was with the only shore excursion was the only shore excursion we booked through Celebrity. We were in Santa Barbara on Saturday and my wife decided she wanted to see the Reagan Library, a $129 excursion. I filled out the form on Thursday and dropped it in the box at 3pm. On Friday morning (the excursion was on Saturday) we got a phone call at 6:22am. We had nothing planned and our intention was to sleep in a little. But a phone call at 6:22am ended that idea. The caller said she had just seen our request (shore excursion was open for 2 hours the night before) and it was no longer available. Yes, we got a very early morning phone call to tell us our trip for the next day wasn’t available. I got madder and madder throughout the day and finally decided I needed to talk to someone. I went to the excursion desk when it opened and asked to talk to the manager. The staffer on duty asked what it was about and I said I just needed to talk to him. She said I needed to explain the whole story to her and she would decide if I could speak with him. I left and went to guest services who called him and had him come talk to me. He heard the story and promised to look into it. A few hours later he called back, apologized, said “the girl has been reprimanded and apologized” and that we were now booked on the trip. The tickets say to go to the theater at 8:30am. We sat in the theater until 9:45, at which point we had to tender to the pier and walk to the bus. In route the tour guide said our time would be limited to 2 hours at the Library due to our late start, that usually there was 2 ½ - 3 hours. They were ready to leave on time, the ship delayed our exit and we were cut short. No one felt there was enough time to see the library. There was also a stop at the Paramount Ranch to see some old movie sets. Everyone on our bus asked if we could skip that and stay longer but she said she had to take us. When we arrived she said due to traffic we only had 5 minutes there, but the driver said he could avoid traffic and we could spend half an hour. Everyone was back on the bus in about 15 minutes, it was a worthless stop to us. And by the way, there were 16 empty seats on the “full tour.” A few words on the staff and I’ll end. The main dining room staff was great. Everywhere else the focus seemed to be on them and not the guests. We were expected to yield to them when walking anywhere. They would never step aside or avoid us, we always had to give way. One waiter on the buffet are walked down the line singing “love me, love me, like I love you. I love you all my guests.” Two staff (again, not the main DR) told us “you will get a survey, please mark all employees a 10. If there is something you didn’t like write it in the comments, but you have to grade us a 10 or we won’t get raises and bonuses. Always rate everything a 10 or it is bad for all of us.” Was it a good trip? Yes. Did I have a good time? Yes. Am I glad I went? Yes. Will I cruise again? Yes. On Celebrity? No. We have a choice where we spend our money, that choice will most likely be Princess. I had heard that Celebrity was trying to be the upscale brand to the Royal Caribbean sister brand, if so they need to keep trying. Read Less

In fact, our group trip (47 people) started on June 15 with a day in Victoria and then two days, June 16 and 17 in Vancouver. Embarkation on 18 June. June 15 - Day-3. Take off at 8:00 am, arrive Vancouver at 10:00 am local time, transfer by luxury bus, comfortable, to take the ferry to Victoria on Vancouver Island, a journey of nearly 1:30. It's not nice, 14-15 degrees; rain and thick fog during much of the crossing. We take a small dinner at the ship's self-serve restaurant; while it is not cheap, at least, variety and quality are there; we begin to fraternize a little more with our compatriots of the group, We take a seat on the bus, and we go to meet our local French-speaking guide, a friendly resident of Victoria for over 40 years, for a pleasant city tour but punctuated by showers ... Transfer to our hotel and freestyle evening. June 16 - Day-2 Disastrous breakfast at the hotel, then lead to the visit of Butchart Gardens. The place is beautiful, huge, but the hour and a half we were allocated was not enough, we had to go back to the bus before we saw it all (this is one of the constraints of traveling in group). Return to Vancouver aboard a newer ferry, probably a little bigger, including a buffet restaurant. Partly cloudy, allowing us to take some nice pictures. Transfer to our hotel for 2 nights. Free walks around, and Canada Place, the cruise terminal, are 1.5 km, a walk of about 20 minutes. We will see before the arrival of ours, several ships docked including the Holland America Niew Amsterdam, the Star Princess and the Crystal Serenity. We stop for a short supper on our own, at the nearby Food Court - Waterfront Center, a diversified and reasonably priced food fair. June 17 - Day-1 Breakfast at the hotel, a well-stocked and quality buffet this time ... We meet for our city tour our local guide, knowledgeable... and installed on the outskirts of Vancouver ... In the city center a lot of construction of business towers and condos, which seems to cost a lot ... I am pleased withthe architectural beauty of these buildings, neighboring older ones. Stopping at Stanley Park, well laid out and quite busy, there are some totems to see. Stop at Granville Island, there is also a lack of time, but I could still see the famous floating houses. After the city tour, free time for quiet walks, a little shopping, etc. It crawls from everywhere despite the weather not so clement. Then we think and anticipate our embarkment the next day... June 18th - Day 1 - Embarkation. Heavy breakfast at the hotel, bus to the cruise terminal ... Cloudy with showers. You may be on a Sunday, but there is an important traffic, since at the port there are several ships to fill ... But hey, finally it's embarkation. In the process at the terminal we go through the US customs. Once on board, little sparkling wine, and with the Today "Early Edition" in hand, the group disperses to go on each own and for a quick lunch ... This time, my experience makes me avoid the Oceanview Café, too busy, we go to the Spa Café, adjacent to the indoor pool, for a good healthy lunch, it's very small but there is hardly anyone! A short reconnaissance tour of the ship, it reminds us of the Constellation that we sailed 6 years ago, and despite the renovations, we noticed everywhere several elements betraying its 16 years of age. A little later we go to see if our cabin is ready (balcony cat 2B, bridge 8); smaller than on Solstice class ships, there are also signs of wear, including on furniture and especially in the bathroom. The small shower has a curtain, the caulking is stained with several blackish molds, the grout of the ceramic looks dirty and I will learn later from our stateroom steward that it had been redone with epoxy grout (tiles were obviously not cleaned rapidly) ... There is a clothesline in the shower, it's quite weird to see this... After having changed clothing, we go to the Muster Drill scheduled at 15:30, then to the bridge 11 to attend the departure at 16:30 .... Despite the sullen weather, feverishness is palpable. Unlike the majority of the group, my wife and I chose the 'Select Dining' so we could go for supper at our leisure between 5.30pm and 9:00pm (same schedule for the entire cruise). Even if we were invited to book, without reservation, between 5.30pm and 6pm, we never waited more than 2-3 minutes ... While there was often a good line on the side with reservation. Celebrity Showtime: Lou Gazzara, versatile vocalist, a beautiful repertoire and a great presence on stage. June 19 - Day 2 - At Sea (Inside Passage) It's not complicated, we did not see much of the famous inside passage, given the weather (low clouds, rain, etc). On the other hand, there was the conference "Beyond the Podium - MickeyLive", Mickey being a great lecturer, knowledgeable and visibly at ease with audiovisual technology. The rest of the day, nothing special. Celebrity Showtime - Boogie Wonderland, a musical revue focusing on the 70s. Quite good. Tonight we set watches 1 hour back.. June 20th - Day 3 - Sitka AK Arrival at 10:00 am, cloudy weather but it will not rain much, eventually. Celebrity Excursion (SI14), which combines the historical and cultural aspects of the city (historical park, Tlingit culture, Naa Kahidi dance) and a visit to the Raptor center. Interesting but the schedule was a bit tight, we had to shorten the visit to some places (eg, since the dance show was good but redundant, it could have been shorter). Tonight, no show for us: a certain Bengt Washburn, standup comedy ... No interest for us.. June 21 - Day 4 - Hubbard Glacier (navigation) Exceptionally we were given access to the front of the ship (level bridge 6) to admire the landscape, the view is different from what we have decks 11 or 12. Outdoor temperature about 8-9 Celcius degrees. I must say that I felt "at the end of the world" ... I imagine that those who have already cruised in Antarctica may think I am impressionable ... We were disappointed that the ship had not approached the glacier, - was there a good reason? And the dull weather did not help for taking good quality pictures. Celebrity Showtime: «Star Factory», lively, beautiful musical and acrobatic performances, beautiful costumes, etc. June 22 - Day 5 - Juneau AK Excursion Celebrity (JU33): Basically, the visit of the Mendenhall Glacier and its visitor Center, views of the surroundings with beautiful photo opportunities and interesting little film where I learned about the glaciers; then we go to the "Gold Creek Salmon Bake" for a picnic buffet in a nice environment to savor wood fire grilled wild Alaskan salmon, a delight! (There is also grilled chicken). In accompaniment, various salads, potatoes, etc, and delicious "Chilkoot" beans! Chansonnier on site for musical atmosphere. A beautiful outing. Our travel guide invited us to have a drink at the "Red Dog Saloon" (with floors covered with a good layer of sawdust, a tradition... Celebrity Showtime with Sean O'Shea, singer and talented impersonator, with energy and humor. June 23rd - Day 6 - Ketchikan AK Last of our 3 stops, arrived at 2:00PM, the small town is friendly and we can explore a good part by foot without problem. Excursion Celebrity (KE61): guided tour of historical sites including a park of totems, and lumberjack show. Celebrity Showtime: "Duo Destiny", Gonçalo and Kinga, a couple of acrobats frankly surprising. Tonight we set watches 1 hour forward. June 24 - Day 7 - At Sea (Inside Passage) This time the weather is on our side, we can observe the landscape and the temperature rises quickly, about 25 Celsius degrees (it will have made more than 28 degrees in Vancouver). Swimming and sunbathing for many passengers ... Celebrity Showtime: iBroadway, a colorful and typically American style show of recent and older hits. We do not put our luggage in the corridor tonight, we'll leave carrying them tomorrow morning. June 25 - Disembarkation The process is going well, both on board and in port. At the airport it's going bad, at the AC check-in counter it is very long for lack of open desks... Vancouver-Montreal flight without problem. Back home! Conclusion: although I have always appreciated Celebrity, we see that cuts have still been made. We still eat well but it is not the same ... For example, one lunchtime, exceptionally we went to the dining room and my dish really was not the way we could get of Celebrity (ground meat containing "crunchy", badly cooked peas and dubious appearance ...) I mentioned my disappointment to the waiter, who by his reply let me believe that I was not the only one to have told him. As far as the Oceanview Café is concerned, I prefer the island arrangement on Solstice class ships. On this itinerary there were many Asians and Indians on board, and every day, this is normal, a large part of the counters offered dishes from their countries ... While on the other hand other counters lacked variety. We have nothing against exotic foods but not every day ... The Infinity is a comfortable but dated vessel, the staff is benevolent but less visible, except during marketing operations, obviously ... It becomes harassing crew members trying to sell drinks or dining packages, etc. .... By the way, there is now only one stateroom steward, no more assistant. I also noticed a reduction in the Captain's Club benefits .... Now it's enough to make us ogle on other companies. Finally, depending on the circumstances, a group travel may prove to be interesting and advantageous; I think this time it was and we liked it... But the ship is disappointing. Read Less

The food here was a lot of stews and curries ,gets very busy at lunch time, I am sure the speciality restaurants were better although we never tried them. Overall you could not go hungry but some of the food not the best. I had the upgraded drinks package which to me is worthwhile some nice wines available. The entertainment was good and bad, loved the production shows and infinity dancers and singers, the artistes at various bars not very good did not like any of them either poor choice of songs poor voices or just dreary. Liked the silent discothat was good fun.good narration going through Canal . Not the three tenors really funny. Did not go on any celebrity excursions, but one organised by another guest which was excellent , in punta arenas. Easy enough to get mini bus in Puerto Vallarta to walk the malecon which was very interesting and pretty. Read Less

WE wanted a full transverse of the canal and had had excellent prior experiences on three Celebrity cruise ships. While the ship's personnel did everything they could to make us happy, the ship itself was, in the apt words of a fellow dinner guest, "a little bit tired". And overcrowded, or so it seemed at every breakfast and lunch, and while attempting to find deck chairs in the pool and other relaxation areas. Other things we noticed which did not reflect what we expected from a Celebrity liner included ripped bed sheets, horrible cheap-motel pillows, flaking paint on railings, and ceiling leaks in public areas. Our stateroom A/C sounded like a jet during take off until we requested and (promptly) received a repair. While we enjoyed our evening meals, the service was a bit slow and sketchy. Long waits at Blu, a restaurant for Aqua Class passengers, were the norm. Perhaps most upsetting was the quality of food served in the Oceanview Cafe (the cafeteria-style facility used for breakfast and lunch by most passengers). Things like pancakes and waffles were limp and tasteless. Meats and vegetables were warm at best. My wife and I both had some rather extreme bouts of intestinal problems after dining there and feel that the culprit was the humid conditions which may have affected the food that sat out for long periods. Doors to the restaurant were constantly swinging ope allowing humid air to disrupt the air conditioning within. A few positives: There were several fine lectures given during the course of the cruise, particularly regarding the Panama Canal. We felt very well prepared on the day we went through it. The cast of musical entertainers (making their last appearances following six months on board) was talented and enthusiastic. A wide range of activities were offered, which mattered on a cruise that featured eight days at sea. The shore excursions - while quite expensive, were generally well-organized and entertaining. The guides (mostly) had good command of English and were knowledgeable about their home areas. We especially enjoyed a trip to Antigua, Guatemala, a charming UNESCO heritage site. I should mention that the average age of the passengers was way up there. I'm 68 and am pretty sure that I was below the average age. Many guests were using wheelchairs, scooters, and walkers. This was inspiring to see in that it showed a desire not to be limited by aging or disabilities, but if you're looking for a younger, active crowd, you wouldn't have found it here. Overall, we had a good time. We met several delightful people (taking advantage of open-seating rather than sitting with the same folks night after night) and saw a part of the hemisphere that we hadn't before. I stand by Celebrity as a quality company but, again, must state that the Infinity falls short compared to some of their other newer vessels. Read Less

Very nice cruise, We are seniors and have done about 48 cruises on various lines. We have done about 10 coastal cruises along the Pacific coast and have previously visited most of the ports on this cruise. Our primary reason for taking this cruise was the entertainment, food, and a close to home get a way. We live about 120 miles north of San Francisco. We drove down to the bay area and stayed the night previous to our flight at the El Rancho Hotel in Millbrae. We have done this several times. When a cruise starts in San Francisco, we have the hotel shuttle take us to SFO where we get the cruise ship bus to the port in SF. On this trip, we had had a 6 AM flight to Vancouver. We were up to catch the shuttle at 4 AM. The flight was smooth and our customs check in Vancouver was also. They have a new system at the airport that allows Americans to pass through customs with a minimum of time lost. It is a BIG improvement over our last time at this airport. You just slap you passport on a screen at one of the machines, get a receipt and you are on your way. If you have any problems, there is a helper there to answer any questions. Otherwise, you wait in VERY LONG lines to get up to talk with an inspector. We were through and out the door in about 5 minutes. We expected a traffic jam at the port, because members of the British Royal Family were visiting the port area about the time we were supposed to arrive. We were pleasantly surprised when the bus sailed right through and we were dropped off at Canada Place. We did have to wait for about a half hour before boarding, but we were on the ship before noon. The cabins were not ready until 1 o’clock, so we had lunch at the lido restaurant and waited on deck until then. Cabin We had a balcony cabin located mid ship. It was a typical cabin with vanity, small couches, and king size bed. On each side of the bed was a two-drawer night strand. The light in my reading lamp was not adequate, but the one on my wife’s side was better. The balcony was small, but had two chairs and a small table that were adequate. The bath had two shelves for storage and the typically large Celebrity stall shower. Our only objection was that the life boats were directly below the balcony and blocked the view of the water below. Our cabin steward took very good care of the room. Perks We booked this cruise with a travel agent because of an email ad we received from them. It was a president’s cruise attended by the president of the travel agency and several of her employees and had some extra perks included. They turned out to be not worth the cost. Some, like the slot contest, were actually an added cost. At first it looked like a good deal, but we later found otherwise. All the cruise lines recently started to provide bonuses like drink packages and pre-paid tips as an inducement to book with them, but in reality they just added the cost of these items to the regular booking price. If you wait until a month or so before the cruise, you will probably be able to get a much better price and paying for the extras yourself will be cheaper than taking the so-called bonuses. We found that the drink package was the biggest loser as we seldom have more than one or two drinks each day. We also used the package for purchase of water, the cost of which has really gotten out of hand. However, the water and liquor in the cabin could not be charged against the package as it did not qualify. We had to buy the large water bottles at a bar and take them back to our cabin. This actually turned out for the best as the Evian water in the cabin tasted terrible. The bars had a different brand that was much better. Food Celebrity has always been known for serving good quality beef. That is still true, by the best quality cuts are not served as often as before and more stews and similar types of beef are now more prevalent in the main dining room. The food served in the lido restaurant has always been somewhat tasteless or over spiced and that has not changed. On this trip, there seemed to be a larger percentage of Asian food available and less American. The soups in this restaurant were terrible. The redeeming item was the breads. They were always good at all the restaurants. The service in both restaurants was always excellent. We did not eat at any of the specialty restaurants. Shows Celebrity shows have never been as good as Royal Caribbean shows. That seems strange as both lines are owned by the same company. Those on this cruise were just OK with very memorable. Summary, Overall, it was a good cruise with great weather and smooth seas most of the way. We had no rain at any stops and very little wind. The temperature everywhere was very comfortable. The high point of the cruise was being able to stand on the top deck of the ship in San Francisco and watch the Blue Angels put on their show during Fleet Week. We have seen them perform several time, but never had seats like this before. It was spectacular. Read Less

Don't listen to the negative reviews, complaining about the ship's age and the staff. After a week on the Celebrity Infinity, I'm convinced those reviews were left by picky and miserable people. Yes, the ship is definitely old, but it's very clean and well-maintained. And I can't even begin to tell you how incredibly the staff was. We've previously sailed with Princess (just okay) and NCL (horrible experience). My husband and I agreed that we'll look at Celebrity first, for all future cruises. We booked a Concierge Class stateroom, and never regretted it. Our embarkation time was 11:30. We arrive about 5 minutes early, and were on the ship with a glass of champagne in hand before 11:45. I still can't believe how smooth the check-in process was. We spent the next couple hours enjoying the pool bar while waiting for access to our rooms. The stateroom was outdated, but very clean. Our Concierge, Jonathan, was fantastic. He provided guidance with a couple ports, and was able to quickly re-schedule our disembarkation time to accommodate the transfer we booked outside the cruise line. The food in the main dining room was overall amazing (we each had only one meal that was not so great). The service team (waiter, assistant waiter, and sommelier) were very friendly and attentive. The buffet was always clean, and the food was much better than expected. We took part in a Wine and Food pairing, and the host, Fernando, was absolutely hilarious! I only have two complaints: 1.) The first couple days onboard, the staff really pushes dinning and beverage packages, to the point of annoyance. We had the Classic beverage package, which we found to be sufficient. I was on an Aperol Spritz-kick during this cruise, and each one only cost an additional $1.20. Upgrading to the Premium package would have cost another $10 each day, and I certainly wasn't drinking enough for it to be worth it. There are only three specialty restaurants, none of which interested us. 2.) Most of the onboard activities focus heavily on spending money. Jewel shows for discounted items, watch seminars sponsored by Tag, massage demonstrations in the spa, and (of course) art auctions. We've always enjoyed the game shows and trivia activities on previous cruises, but these all took place in a small/enclosed lounge or bar area. On other cruises (newer ships) this has taken place in the open atrium area, which the Infinity lacks. Quick recap of our ports: ---Venice: Embarked Day 1, and stayed in port overnight. We did the Celebrity Doge's Palace, Gondola Ride & Glass Showroom Demo on Day 2. Skip it. The Doge's Palace tour was definitely worth it, but it would be better booked through an outside tour company. The gondola ride and glass showroom were incredibly touristy and uninteresting. ---Split: We booked a walking tour of Diolcetian's Palace through GetYourGuide. It was about a 20 minute walk from the ship to downtown Split, which was very easy. We spent the rest of the day having lunch and walking around the town/Riva. ---Kotor: We booked a speedboat ride to Our Lady of the Rocks and Perast, through Viator. There were 3 other ships in port that same day, and it was insanely packed. We were fairly far out in the Bay, which made for a 20 minute tender ride. I would definitely recommend getting up early to sit outside on the deck or balcony, and enjoy the beautiful views as the ship pulls into the Bay of Kotor. ---Corfu: We booked a beach transfer across the island, through GetYourGuide. It was half the price of the ship's beach transfer, and took us to the exact same resort. ---Naples: If you want to do Pompeii or the Almafi Coast, book this through the cruise ship. We booked Celebrity's 10-hour Capri, Sorrento, Pompeii excursion, and were glad we did it. We were first off the ship and last ones back on. But since it was booked through the cruise line, we didn't need to worry about missing the boat. ---Rome: We booked a hotel transfer through GetYourGuide. It was about $100 for two of us, but worth it. The Celebrity transfer options were only to city-center, and were packed full of people. It was worth the extra money to be taken directly to our hotel. Our tag number was able to get off the ship 15 minutes earlier than scheduled, and the disembarkation process took all of 5 minutes. Our bags were ready for us in the terminal as soon as we got off the ship. Summary: The ship is old, but clean and well maintained. The staff is amazing. The food is delicious. The itinerary was perfect. We recommend this cruise line/ship, and we'd do it all over again! Read Less

While this short cruise was very good there were some iratiants that could be easily fixed: First, the music was to loud.I fail to understand why management feels that music has to be loud ,especially when the majority of passengers are seniors. Secondly,there were only 2 gameshows.I have never been on a cruise with so few. Thirdly,while I have rated most everything as very good to excellent,the two above items were of sufficient annoyance that I would not sail on Infinity again. Fourthly, my 10 year old granddaughter was unable to use the kids pool due to the fact it was always occupied by adults ,who always had a drink in their hands. Overall,I though that the two performances put on by the ships company were the best I have seen on any cruise.Also the food served in the Oceanview buffet area was was varied and always good and there were always plenty of seats to be found. Loved this cruise. It was delightful! to welcome the New Year (2019) at Sea. The atmosphere on board was fun and thoroughly entertaining. The only reason I gave it a four star rating, was based on the beds in our veranda family suite. I sailed with grandchildren who were uncomfortable on the older, thin mattresses on the daybeds. The atmosphere on board was festive and I truly felt on vacation each day. Music filled the air as we strolled through the ship during the evening hours. A good variety of options were available for entertainment. I spent time in the casino which was lively and fun. I should note that while I traveled with family (3 generations) I am disabled. I use a scooter and have fairly good access throughout the ship. Staff were courteous and helpful My children enjoyed the "Snuba" experience. This entails using a raft that holds the air tanks with long hoses for the divers. They had a great time. Read Less

The sailing was smooth as can be. We did not eat in any of the the ship"s specialty restaurants. The food and service in the main dining room was great. Dudley and Tyrone were our wait staff. They were exemplary! After sailing on many celebrity cruises it seems they are starting to nickel and dime everyone. I have an I-phone and in one of the daily programs they were offering a class to learn more about it. When I went to attend they had a sign in the room for $15.00pp. I signed up prior to cruise for internet service, but, it took a whole day before I was informed on how to log on. That information should have been in my cabin. On the great side, the cruise director was over the top. He interacted with the passengers more than any CD I can remember. The entertainment was top notch. Our cabin were clean and bed comfortable. Eventhough I have a few complaints I still reserved an upcoming cruise while on board. The ice cream is great!! Read Less

We bolted this cruise on to a holiday to Canada Rockies and BC. WE chose Celebrity because it gave the better deal compared to other Alaska 7 day cruises. Checking in was fine but immigtation seemed to take a long time. Once eventually on board the first contact witrh a cruise member of staff was about drinks packages which was rather annoying as all we wanted to do was setlle in and look around the ship. The cruise itself was great, even better as the weather was excellent. We thought Icy Straight Point was a bit of a waste of time but enjoyed the huskeys sleigh ride in Juneau. Hubbard Glacier was excellent the ship being able to get up very close to the glacier and was proably the highlight of the trip. As for the cruise Ship Celebrity Infinity compared to UK based cruise chips (e.g. P&O) we thought it was expensive and at every corner Celebrity seemed to want to take money from passengers. Food in the buffet was average but always crowded and difficult to find seats. The Restaurant for dinner was excellent with helpful staff although 3 times our group of 4 had to send the main course back. Ou cabin (6000) was right at the front (just a window) and it did get a bit choppy sometimes in the night. Entertainment in the theatre was good what we saw and some of the lectures were very good. One of the excursions we booked didn't run and was cancelled at short notice. The orgainsation/advice to passengers shore side was poor. We would consider Celebrity again but are put off by the high gratitude cost and high general costs not helped by being in dollars so wanted to compare with UK £ all the time. Read Less

This “California Coast” cruise was our 23rd on Celebrity among more than fifty overall for my wife and me. We are now “Elite Plus” which added some additional perks like the 240 minutes of internet and multiple laundry options. We very much enjoyed this cruise as the very good food and great service from the staff and crew members continues to be top notch. This was the first of our B2B cruises so we continued onboard on our way down the Mexican Riviera and through the Panama Canal. Cabin 3104 was comfortable and quiet, even though it was very near the Grand Foyer atrium and the Guest Relations desk. Our housekeeper, Edi, did a great job keeping our cabin neat and clean while being “invisible” while we were relaxing there. The Guest Relations staff members were very professional and helpful. We were pleased to see GR Officer Garmen Zhang whom we met on our B2B2B cruises in Asia a year ago. Our OBC from Celebrity and CruCon, our travel agent, was immediately posted on our account which helped us to plan how to spend it. On other cruises, it took four or five days so this was the fastest ever. Our Captain’s Club Hostess, Paulina Ugalda, was very welcoming at the Elite and Elite Plus events. She also personally escorted us down to the tenders in all three ports. It was the most well done priority assistance we’ve ever had. It was great to see Assistant Chief Housekeeper, Gabriela, again who was so helpful when my wife fell ill on our B2B2B in Australia and New Zealand six months ago. We were able to chat with her several times and catch up on where she’s been and what’s she’s done since then. We also appreciated that we received a beautiful flower arrangement and a nice bottle of wine in our cabin from her. We were in “Select Dining” this time and were seated quickly each evening at a table for two. We appreciate that Celebrity has many of these tables, but most of them are so close together that you might as well be sharing a table. We talk to many other guests during the day and later in the evening, but we prefer to have some “down time” from these conversations at dinner. Also, my wife has trouble hearing which can make these interactions difficult. So, we opted to switch to the fixed seating at 6:00 with a more private table on the second of our B2B cruises. The food in the “Trellis” MDR was excellent as usual. We usually order our favorite dishes from each menu, but we tried some new ones this time and they were also very good. The Oceanview Café provided many options during the day and late into the night. We also enjoyed the drinks and desserts in Café al Baccio. The bartenders in the lounges were efficient even when they were very busy. DeJean in the Rendez-Vous were particularly helpful and made the best Grasshoppers we’d ever had. We continue to support “Evening Chic” with my wife in her dresses and me in my suit or tuxedo. We understand that other guests aren’t as interested in doing this as we are, but it’s nice to see some still like it as much as we do. The production shows were very good as usual and the singers and dancers were quite talented. We really enjoyed the “Swing@Sky” show in the Constellation Lounge and the entire cast kept up the high level of energy for a very long time. It was definitely the very best of that type of event on all of our cruises. On the final night, the “Duo Destiny” show with the acrobats Goncalo and Kinga was unbelievable. We were very lucky on this cruise as both bands were excellent. We saw Take 5 on our B2B2B cruises in Asia a year ago year so we were happy to see them again. They were great then and are even better now. Their female singer and their other members are very friendly and approachable. The Bryan James Band was terrific, especially since they were billed on this cruise as a “dance band” rather than “house band” or “party band”. Bryan has a great sense to humor and his band can play a wide range of music depending on the audience and the venue. We hope that Celebrity keeps both of them under contract for as long as they can. We did two ship’s excursions and four on our own. Santa Barbara: Rented a car to see the wine country, the SB Mission and the Reagan Center San Francisco (overnight) – First Day: Took my nephew and his girlfriend to dinner at the Crab House San Francisco – Second Day: Took ship’s SF03 excursion to Muir Woods and took ferry back from Sausalito on our own Monterey: Rented a convertible and drove around 17-Mile Drive and Carmel Catalina Island: Went to the Catalina Island Museum to see the Dale Chihuly glass exhibit and took a bus to Botanic Gardens Ensenada, Mexico: Took ship’s EN04 excursion to two wineries in Calafia Valley wine country One area which could use some improvement was the B2B process. At other B2B meetings, someone from the MDR was there to allow guests to select their tables for the next cruise, but that didn’t happen. As part of these past meetings, there have been drawings for prizes, offers of complimentary specialty restaurants, discounted excursions and/or coupons with codes for additional internet minutes in order to fill out the survey from the first cruise. The only “perks” this time were a 30% off a restaurant (for only the embarkation evening) and a card to get into the “Trellis” MDR 15 minutes before the newly boarding guests. We were also given the impression that this process wouldn’t take too long. We were told to gather at 9:40, but we not able to disembark until everyone else did at about 10:40. We then exited the ship and had to wait almost another hour to get back onboard at 11:30. We suspect that due to regulations, there was no chance for anyone to board before that time. It would have been better to know ahead of time that the local authorities require this timing so we could have planned for these delays. We and most of the other guests have done quite a few B2Bs so all of us were surprised that it was much more inconvenient it this time. Almost everything else on this cruise was great except one thing. While not a major problem or a “deal breaker”, we have been a bit disappointed at the recent trend of having more public areas unavailable to everyone. The Celebrity ships have very few inside venues for music and relaxation compared to other cruise lines. So, when one of them is taken out of circulation, the options are limited. We used to love to go to the piano bar in Michael’s Club (especially when Perry Grant was still with Celebrity and packed it every night), but it’s been “privatized” for many years. We’ve also seen “Private Parties” in “Quasar” on the “Solstice” class ships and in the “Constellation” type Sky Lounges on the “Millennium” class ships. On one of our cruises last year, Park West took control of the Sky Lounge for several days for private art sales. The most recent example was the Latina/o “Private Party” from 10:00 – 12:00 on the final night of this cruise which meant that most guests couldn’t enjoy that area as they had on other nights. We are well aware that Celebrity celebrates the diversity of their crew and their guests so segregating and/or excluding groups seems to be counter to that goal. We appreciate the “Elite” cocktail hours in the upper lounge, but not at the expense of access for others. In some cases, the guests who are not yet at “Elite” have been excluded from taking in the view, particularly during sail-aways. The exception was when we were on the “Infinity” for a B2B in South America and Antarctica in 2015 where we were pleased to see that there were areas roped off from the “Elite” section so everyone had a chance to see the scenery. We would certainly endorse sharing that lounge and all other venue as often as possible on every cruise. Overall, we always have a great time on Celebrity. After the Panama Canal, we have twelve more cruises booked in the Mediterranean, Middle East, India, Caribbean, Northern Europe and Transatlantic in the next year. So, we’ll look forward to having 135 more days to enjoy Celebrity’s welcoming hospitality and excellent service! Read Less

We go on Celebrity again and again. Obviously, we like this line. Embarkation: It went pretty smoothly for us. We live in the San Diego area and that was the embarkation point. So we arrived by train (a 40 minute trip), got off downtown, walked across the street to the cruise port and we were there. Very easy (and inexpensive). There were the usual serpentine lines but it was not terribly objectionable. About 30-45 minutes to get on board. We were booked as Concierge Class so there was lunch on embarkation day in the main dining room. There were maybe 3-4 entrees from which to select. Really quite good and I was thrilled to be able to escape the chaos that is always at the buffet in the Ocean View Cafe--the latter is just not my style. Debarkation: Easy and smooth. Vancouver was the debarkation point. We got off, walked a couple of blocks to the Canada Line Sky Train, and for a couple of bucks arrived at the airport. Much better than the cruise line bus but only for those who are willing to carry their own bags and be willing to navigate the streets and terminal on their own. Ship: The ship has three specialty restaurants (unless you are suite or Aqua Class). However, the Sushi on Five does not serve what I eat so one more would be perfect. They actually have room to put one at the Wine Cellar as a lot of that space seems to go unused. Service: Service was very good to great in most places on the ship. All the crew were extremely friendly. Our cabin steward, Elmer, was absolutely outstanding. Was it because of the $5 I gave him upon meeting him with a promise of another $5 when we debarked? Who knows. But he was great. Herve in Qusine is an absolute kick (I won't spoil the surprise for you but he was entertaining as all get out.) Jovel, the Maitre'd at Tuscan Grill simply could not do enough for us as is true of all of the staff there. And if you talk to these guys as people, many of them are very interesting. Food & Wine: My wife and I are wine and foodie people and their specialty restaurants hit our goals. We attended the Chef's Dinner (3rd time we have done this)---great and memorable experience. We, along with some good friends traveling with us, were joined by two ship's officers. That was it, just the 6 of us. Dinner in the private dining room of Tuscan Grill. Pleasant conversation with the officers including a lot of behind the scenes information. Dinner was outstanding. Wine flowed freely and it was not the cheap stuff. We did Tuscan Grill twice (first night and deep into the cruise) and Qsine one time. And because we signed up for the chef's dinner upon boarding the first day,Tuscan Grill took very special care of us when we were there. We enjoyed all three of those dinners immensely. The main dining room was really poor the second night (many of the entrees were overcooked) but got better each night that we ate there after that. But even on that second night the appetizers were very good. We were on the any time dining plan. I'm not sure I would do that again as I like having a waiter/ass't waiter who knows what I want, etc. With any time dining, some of the wait staff was less attentive/quick than I would like. If that occurred with the 1st or 2nd seating I would say something to the supervisor and expect that the situation would improve. Beverage & Wine Package: We both had this package as one of our perks. I wasn't sure it was going to be a better deal than the $150/person OBC offer. It was and I appreciated the fact that I didn't have to sign for each drink and hear (in my head) the cash register going off. Further, Celebrity had just changed their policy so with the classic package if you ordered a drink over the limit ($9 I think) you only paid the difference, not the entire tab. This is a much fairer approach. Internet experience: It is definitely better than the old system which tended to move like molasses at times. They advertise you can use this for business web conferences and VOIP calls. Maybe at times but not at the times I tried. If a lot of people on the ship are on the internet at the same time then things slow down to too slow for conferences and VOIP. And since you don't know when that will be you can't schedule a web conference. So that was a disappointment. Internet Options: We called before sailing and were told only option was unlimited at approx $200. On board there was, as I recall, a one hour, one day, 100 minutes, and unlimited options. Although the unlimited is expensive, and they do push that option, I'd still go for that as with the others you have to remember to log out or the time just keeps running. Internet Hook Up: My laptop couldn't find the log in page. The web browser just couldn't find it. ILounge guru could not resolve the problem. Unfortunately I allowed him to tweak and change some of my computer settings as he tried to get the laptop to navigate to the log in page; that was a mistake as it significantly disabled my laptop for a while until I was able to back out his changes. We did get credit for half the unlimited charge. Easy solution: log in on phone and create hot spot for laptop. If they want to charge you for two devices, get special dispensation since the laptop won't hook up. Wish I had thought of that then rather than a day later. Ports/Excursions: We rarely take the ship excursions, preferring to plan things for ourselves. I often put together walking tours of the ports we are in along with restaurants for us to stop for lunch. All of the ports were very enjoyable except Nanaimo. There is just nothing I can find to do there. In our pre-cruise planning we just decided to treat it as a "sea day," although we did get off for about an hour just to walk around. This is the second Pacific Coastal Cruise I have taken (both on Celebrity) and I would do it again. Read Less

Getting on the ship and to the room went very well. Noticed strong mildew smell and worked with staff and Concierge through various solutions. Ended up being lucky enough to switch rooms and the new is what this review is based on. Tipping: 1st time with Celebrity and the lack of tickets meant I had to carry cash with money wasting away in my account. I was told I could do an extra tip for room service at the end from my account, but that turned out to be the entire dining room staff, but they were worth it. I did discover that I could sometimes get a $0.00 bill that I could add a tip to. Service and the staff were great, but we all know a little tipping raises their spirits and they take more time to get to know your needs and wants. Isn't it about time for some IPAD type device where you can just select $1, $2 or other with a card swipe. Room Stewards: Outstanding! Dining: Very good with many choices. Service was very good and if you needed anything you just had to ask. Room Service: Pretty good, but with minor errors on the order. I like raisin bran with cold milk and 2 out of the first 3 times the milk was warm. I doubled up and kept one in the mini fridge from then on. A little unclear on quantity you will get of items when you say it is for two people (I should have called and asked). People were fantastic, but again after a great night at the Martini bar I don't like having to hunt for cash when breakfast shows up. Next time I'll request a $0.00 bill every morning I do room service. Infinity Bars: Upgraded to premium package which was great. Even better I did not need to upgrade my cabin mate! Café al Vacio - Outstanding!. Constellation Lounge and Rendez-Vous Lounge - average because it was hard to get served and twice had to ask who or where was the bartender. I gave up after two tries. Service during events in the Constellation lounge was very good. Mast Bar, Oceanview Bar and Pool Bar - Excellent! I did not try the Casino Bar or Cellar Masters. If you want a drink to a show you had better get there early or bring your own as they don't disrupt the show by trying to serve drinks in the dark which I appreciate. Martini Bar: Clearly one of the highlights of the cruise!!! Great people, great drinks and some of the hardest working people with a huge dose of fun that I have seen in a long time. Programs and Entertainment were all very good. Being able to watch programs that we missed in the room was nice for a couple that we missed. Movies on the deck were okay, but pretty hot and muggy. I never noticed anyone serving drinks or snacks, but I only did 1.5 movies. Air Conditioning: This turned out to be a real problem. The AC barely kept up the last week of the cruise. As we got closer to the end it got even worse. People entering the 9th hall way aft would comment on how bad it was. Underneath the 10th floor buffet which was also pretty warm. Somewhat expected on 10 with the doors to the Oceanview Bar being opened and closed so many times. Coolest spot was outside right in front of the doors (just kidding, but you did get an awesome breeze). Seem like some clever engineering is needed here. I'n front of the Pizza counter which had some of the best garlic bread ever you would feel water dripping on you from the ceiling which I can only assume is related to the AC problems. Pool Grill was only open from about 11:30 to 6:00 PM, but they make a very good burger as sometimes you get off schedule with meals. None of the Excursions really appealed to us for the price. People we talked to seemed to like the ones they went on. We will be doing another Celebrity Cruise, but on a different ship. I should have been more aggressive with the room temperature. My advice is bring a Thermometer! Getting off ship was great, but customs had very long lines. I'll do Mobile Pass next time!! We had a great time on this cruise. There was just the right amount of ports to sea days for us. There was plenty of time to do everything aboard the ship and since it was a smaller ship, it was easy to get seats at the shows and dinner. We opted for an Aqua Class room and loved the food at Blu. We've been staying in Aqua class for a while now and will continue to do so. The ship was a nice size, a little older and a bit warn, but it was very clean and had a lot of areas to sit and relax. The spa pool in the solarium was great and we loved the outdoor movie area. The lectures on Panama Canal were very informative and the day passing through the canal was a highlight. We also enjoyed Antigua in Guatamela. We took the Antigua, Chocolate and Jade tour with the ship. We could have skipped the Chocolate shop and spent more time at the Jade museum, but I would still take the tour again. We would definitely sale on Celebrity and Infinity again. Read Less

We chose this cruise to go to and through the Panama Canal and to end up in San Diego. The canal was fabulous. Passing through the locks in the old section was amazing. Visiting the new section, which is not yet open to cruise ships, was fascinating. It was great to see and understand the differences in engineering from past to present day. The ship's staff was attentive, personable, and fun. There were many activities planned for sea days from dance lessons, games, watercolor painting, or you could go to the spa or just relax. We enjoyed most of the ports of call but wish we had more time in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. We did the Panama Canal tour which was extremely educational and also the self guided tour in Antigua, Guatemala. We took an inside cabin. This suited us fine, since we spent very little time in our room. Our cabin was always neat and our cabin steward was very accommodating to our needs. Also, there are many dining options on the ship. The food was good and we decided not to pay extra for any of the more upscale restaurants. Desserts were plentiful at the coffee bar, all day/night long. The entertainment was upscale and varied, with singers, comedians, a juggler, a pianist, a flautist, and reviews. We tried to see every show. Terrific!! The Infinity was just the perfect size for our needs, not too big and not too small. We had so much fun and met so many nice people. We wished we could have sailed back through the canal for our return trip, but were booked to fly home after 3 days in San Diego. Read Less

This was a memorable cruise after completing our two week journey in Peru and Chile . My husband and I chose to discover Machu Picchu on our own prior to embarcation in Valparaiso. When we arrived at the port on embarkation day prepared to receive our seapass with our stateroom information in aqua class we soon realized we were upgraded to a Ski Suite , we were overjoyed , surprised , elated and ready for our South American / Panama Canal crusing experience. We really enjoyed the Luminae restaurant . The portions were spot on perfect , delicious and many varieties to choose from at breakfast , lunch and dinner . We did not take advantage enough of Micheals Club , another great relaxing area to meet great people . The entertainment was very good as well . What we really enjoyed with our new friends were the Silent Disco nights . Read Less
