We had done this cruise before on the Solstice three years ago, had seen all the sights, and stayed in Lahaina and Waikiki for several weeks some time ago. So we merely wanted some R&R, good food, originating in Vancouver, some sunshine, and were not interested in organised shore excursions. We got exactly what we paid for. Embarkation at Vancouver took much longer then we expected. Disembarkation at Honolulu was OK. I particularly enjoy Celebrity's English breakfasts and the variety in the buffet at other times, especially the cheese selection in the afternoons. The MDR - and the service there - was excellent, though one or two evenings we couldn't get the early time we preferred. One night in the buffet I complained about the poor quality of a prime rib, as did the passengers at the next table. Qsine was a gimmick and the food not particularly good. The ship's facilities, pools and public areas are excellent throughout. The entertainment in the theatre was excellent, as were the violin/cello couple from Ukraine(?) in one of the bars. I am no fan of Polynesian music but the group from Lahaina were very good. I asked for copies of the daily news summary Celebrity used to have available at the Guest Relations desk from Canada, UK and US. “Sorry sir, we don’t have them any more – gone paperless sir.” So I asked about the distribution of their daily on-board program on paper every day when they could just as easily be distributed to guests on the web or by email or posted on the in-room TV. Answer came there none. Not quite so paperless after all? The “James Bond style” safety video shown at the beginning of the cruise was ineffective and, even worse, insulting to many guests. They told me so because I asked them. Many people were little the wiser when it was all over. Two guests who had cruised in double figures with Celebrity and other lines told me they learned nothing and that it was pathetic compared with Celebrity’s competitors. I suggest that Celebrity change this program immediately, fire the producer responsible and the senior safety officer who approved it. Safety aboard is a serious matter. We are not particularly demanding of our stewards but our steward (Sijas, from India) was very attentive and looked after us very well. The lettering on the staff name/country badges is far too small to be legible by the guests. They are thus quite useless for the purpose intended. Read Less

I chose this cruise because I could get off at the end in Honolulu which would allow me to shorten the flight to Korea. This was my first time sailing with Celebrity and only my second cruise. I selected my cabin and Aqua class before I knew anything. After booking this cruise I began reading reviews here on cruise critic and on Ship Mate to learn what I was in for. Funny there were no reviews or pictures of the cabin 1544 I chose but lots of info on Aqua class. Aqua class turned out to be a great choice for me and my husband. Many reviews from those that were not Aqua class look at this as snobbish or at a way for this cruise line to make extra money. Yes mabe that is the case when comparing this line to other lines that I had no experience with. But for me and comparing it to the Princess cruise ship Star(my only other cruise) I found this to be a great option to have. Choosing this class gave me a great shower. Note I measured and took pictures which I will share. I am a large woman. Comparing the shower on the Star Craibe deck cabin C709 I would chose spending a little more to have this shower available to me. Another perk with Aqua class is the assigned restaurant Blu. I kept reading reviews about clean cuisine and thought it meant diet food, not so. Entrees were an array of meats and seafood with sauces artfully arranged on your plate. When the reviews spoke of intimate dinning it was not enough info that explained what it was like in the Blu. The tables in the Blu were grouped and arranged in several ways. Looking at the plan provided you will see an area near the windows with a row of tables perpendicular to the windows.these were tables not treated as a group but as individual tables for two. The space between was just enough for the waiter to squeeze through while servicing the table. Each perpendicular row was primarily serviced by a group of waiters for your morning and evening meals. The service was outstanding. My husband is a picky eater. He doesn't eat vegetables or any greens. They brought him the menu for the next day so he could choose what he would like that would be customized to his taste. The tables were close enough to have conversations with the couple next to you if you wanted but if you chose to not speak to your neighbors you didn't feel obligated. Now there were large round tables that could seat large groups of people that liked that. I thoroughly enjoyed the option of having our waiters just for us and we could enjoy the guest that would sit next to us that would rotate from time to time depending on what time they arrived. We met so many wonderful people. The room was a great location for attending the shows but not a good location for going to eat at the many restaurants on the ship, which was at the opposite end of the ship. The room was quite never heard any people noise nor any elevator noise. View from the balcony was great. Now what I found could use some improvements is the outlets. The only 110v outlet in this cabin was located desk level. I was told by Celebrity I could not bring an extension cord nor a multi plug adapter without surge protecter aboard the ship. However, spoke with fellow shipmates that have sailed with Celebrity that they brought adapters on board without surge protecter with problems. If you need a extension cord one will be provided. We were provide with two. One was for a C-Pap and the other was for a electric nasal flush. The downside to using extension cords is they were strung across our cabin. This is the only negative I have for this ship. I had the premium non-alcoholic beverage package. At dinner I could order special coffees, teas and other frozen non-alcoholic drinks. I could get bottled water where ever it was available all over the ship. At the Cafe Blanco I could get a large assortment of speciality coffees with the free assortment of pastries. When it came to water from this place. I could get more than one bottle at a time. Funny thing is is across from the Cafe Blanco was the icecream bar was not free. Also when at the shows you could order frozen virgin drinks like pinata colettas, strawberry daiquiris and the like non-alcoholic or bottled water. All and all I had a wonderful experience. Read Less

Have just disembarked the Celebrity Eclipse following a 9 night Pacific Coastal Cruise from San Diego to Vancouver. We chose this cruise because we had sailed on the Eclipse 3 time previously and liked the itinerary. On embarking the ship we were greeted with the customary glass of champagne (make the most of it as it’s the last freebie you will get). The first thing I would say is that the Eclipse is not the ship it once was. The ship is looking a bit tired and does not seem to be as well maintained as it once was. Previously every time the ship was in port it was being painted, not so anymore! The soft furnishings have scuffs, rips and tears. That said, our cabin steward Salvadore was exceptional and kept our cabin tip-top. Be aware that every drink you order, be it tea, coffee or alcohol will be subject to the addition of a 20% Service Charge which is added automatically so the staff have no incentive to offer a good service. You have to wonder how much of this 20% is passed on to the staff! Maybe the American market is different to the European market and is geared around giving a low entry price and then charge for everything you can as an “extra”. The onboard shopping experience is poor with most shops selling over-priced tat. The Qsine restaurant concept has been changed, and whilst it is different, the menu is very limited, the old concept was much better and offered more choice. Murano continues to be the jewel in the crown when it comes to the speciality restaurants. The food and service here is exceptional. Tuscan grill is a good second choice. The Oceanview buffet restaurant offers a good choice but the food is only ever luke warm at best. Moonlight Sonata, the main dining room is OK but the quality and choice of food has declined. The staff here aren’t particularly attentive and seem to be lacking experience, there seemed to be a changeover of staff occurring during our trip. The entertainment is more East End than West End, maybe the Americans are easily pleased. We missed our stop at Monterey due to bad weather. Astoria has nothing of interest to offer and seems to be a stop for the sake of a stop. San Francisco was well worth it and the additional overnight in port due to us not stopping at Monterey was a welcome surprise. Victoria and Vancouver were both nice places to visit. Having travelled on Eclipse three times previously it was my favourite ship and I would have recommended it without reservation, unfortunately I can’t do this anymore. The Staff only seem interested in up-selling everything they can at every opportunity, even the bottled water in your Stateroom is now charged for. Eclipse is no longer a 5* experience it’s now 4* and declining experience. Hopefully the re-fit next year will restore Eclipses former glory. Read Less

We liked the itinerary and had not visited the West Coast since the 80`s.We got to San Diego a day early and enjoyed the city.Didn`t stop in Monterrey due to the heavy seas and the water was rough up to Seattle.Got two and half days in San Francisco and had a good time. The stop in Astoria Oregon should be eliminated and the extra time spent in Seattle a beautiful city.Victoria was great too.We ended in Vancouver and flew home but should have spent an extra day here. The cabin was great [a little dated] but kept spotless by a very good steward. The food was a letdown in both the Dining Room and the Oceanview cafe but the the service was excellent.I think the Celebrity is trying to force people to the Specialty restaurants or the top of the line cabins with their own restaurants. The captain was very visible and the Cruise Director was also very good. The shows were good. Embarkation was so-so. [we had to walk up a very steep plank] I will cruise Celebrity again for the combination of a good deal and interesting itinerary but being aware that the quality and variety of food has gone down. This was our first time on Celebrity. We choose this cruise because of the itinerary, repositioning cruise up the West Coast. We flew into San Diego and spent a few days there, and then a few days in Vancouver at the end of the cruise. Embarkation and disembarkation were fine/typical. The ship is beautiful, the clientele a little older. We were among the youngest at 54. We loved the suspended tree, library, Team Earth space. I have to mention (as if Celebrity will see this review), for the muster, people are not interested in watching a cheesy video on how to put on a life vest. What should've taken 5 minutes took more like 20 because of the video, which we didn't even watch (we listened, tho) because the video screen for our section was broken. Skip the gimmicks and let us get back to our cruise! The Cruise Director Alejandro and "Super Captain" Leo were outstanding. When we couldn't drop the tenders for transport into Monterey, "Super Captain" Leo got us a spot in San Francisco, so we could spend two nights in San Fran instead of another sea day. We take the stairs a lot and I found the railings were always gummy/sticky, even though I frequently saw someone cleaning them. I tried not to touch them because I knew I'd find a gummy/sticky spot and it grossed me out. We spent the sea days in the Solarium, which we loved, but I never saw a waiter asking us if we wanted a drink or anything. The Sky Lounge on 14 is a beautiful space but we were kicked out one evening because we weren't in the Captain's Club. It's a huge space and hardly anyone was in there, but out we went. The evening entertainment was good except for one night - I can't remember what the show was called but it was supposed to be a Mozart fusion kind of show. We mostly just looked at each other like "What is going on?" Should've been so much better. But for the most part the entertainment was very entertaining. The show on the last night, Elyria, was absolutely beautiful and mesmerizing. The food was good, but there didn't seem to be much variety and I've seen much better presentation on other cruise lines. Note to Celebrity - scrambled eggs aren't supposed to be soupy... Overall we did have a nice cruise but we'll probably go back to another cruise line instead of Celebrity. Read Less

Celebrity Eclipse Trip San Antonio Chile to San Diego California March 24 2019 Embarkation poor. Had people lined up for hours waiting to be processed. There was no place for anyone to sit. Other cruise lines issue a number and have passengers sit to wait for their number to be called. The gangplank to the ship was very steep so the staff had to strain to push wheelchair passengers on the ship. Room 9402 very nice and good location, efficient room design with the exception of no electric plug next to or near bed. I called Crucon prior to sailing and requested distilled water for a piece of medical equipment. It was not there. I am sure that there are many people who use a CPAP machine at this present time. Our room attendant Kam, came and introduced himself. He was pleasant and carried out requests. There were no extra special touches in the room, ie cotton buds, shower caps, razors or emery boards in fact you could not even purchase an emery board aboard the ship. There was only soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. We were not served a complimentary bottle of champagne as we were served on prior cruises,We had to ask for ice to be present in our room in the evening. There is no folder in the room to describe anything about the ship or contain a list of room service foods. I still don't know if room service is available for meals other than breakfast. There was a sheet for us to fill out every evening for breakfast. We had coffee in our room every day and twice they delivered without cups and milk. The towels and sheets had a funky unpleasant odor, perhaps it was their detergent or not enough detergent. The air conditioner/heat control was not predictable, one time it would be very cold on a setting and the next time it would be uncomfortable at that same setting. The room would become warm while we were in port. The bed was not wonderful, there was no pillow top softness but I am like the princess and the pea. The pillows were OK. Trip route- It was a relocation cruise and the stops were not earth shaking. The prices for ship trips to essentially nothing locations were very expensive. We only did two trips, one to Lima and the other in Punta Arenas Costa Rica. Both were interesting. The other ports did not have anything that looked like we needed to explore further or sounded uninteresting. Entertainment- Stale and according to passengers who previously sailed on the ship it was a repeat of the same performances. The songs were dull and uninspiring. The entertainment was aimed at old people and I am older than god. They need to update their performances. The Eclipse Orchestra was the highlight of the performances. They need to continue with “Live Orchestras” not a digital replacement that is being contemplate by the company. All of our table mates refused to attend the performances because of them being so boring and repetitive. Service-The staff were very positive, smiling and caring throughout the ship. The Captain was a pseudo comedian. Alejandro the master of ceremony was great. Jose P and Edwin our staff in the dining room were caring and attentive they get a 10 out of 10! Food- Terrible!! On previous trips the many tasty main courses offered were wonderful, one had to make a decision of choosing from all the very appealing meals offered most every evening. On this cruise trying to find even one was a difficult task, in fact there were many nights we only had appetizers for our meal because the selection was so poor. On the dress up nights there was nothing special offered except on the last dress up night and another regular evening soft shell lobster not New England lobster. The breakfast and lunch buffets were OK. The salad dressing were horrible. There were people stationed at the entry of cafeteria dispensing hand sanitizing solution but there are no hand washing places there. Hand washing is the only way to truly prevent novovirus. Passengers complained that there was a respiratory illness spreading aboard the ship toward the end of the cruise. Disembarkation-A nightmare! Directions printed for passengers to follow were not written by an English speaking person and were very confusing. Other passengers stated the same regarding the poorly written directions. No one knew where they were to go or wait. There were lines all over the ship. Exiting from the ship was down a very steep gangplank. If I had my luggage I would have been propelled down the gangplank. Being in a wheelchair would have been very scary. Summary We are not gung-ho cruisers but have enjoyed our previous 7 cruises because the food was outstanding, the entertainment fun, but this trip left a bad taste in our mouth. I am not sure we will cruise again anytime soon. Is Celebrity trying to drive people do the specialty dining?? I refuse to pay additional money that probably amount to $100+ for each night to get a decent meal. If this is their object the staff will be shortchanged and service will suffer. The staff in the dining room depend on their tips to supplement their income. Read Less

The cruise was pleasant enough but when we returned home we found our MasterCard had been charged for an unidentified item. Contacting Celebrity they informed us the charge was for items used from the mini bar. We, in fact, had not used any items from the mini bar during the entire cruise and, more to the point, had not authorised any payment. Very concerned that payment can be taken from your bank card without authorisation. The cleanliness on the ship was of a high standard, particularly in the Solarium, toilets and pool area. The one outstanding excursion on the cruise, was a visit to the Palamino Islands. Very memorable and worth the money. However, some of the other excursions during the cruise were expensive and not good value. Food in the Lido Cafe was often cold and much of the selection was repeated every day. Overall it was a pleasant cruise but left us dismayed at being charged for something we didn’t have.. Read Less

It appeared very organized with everyone given assigned times for immigration. But then they threw the schedules away huge groups go all at once . This caused long waits , long lines, long waits for elevators and lines jamming the stair cases. The captains club hostess did not seem overly friendly and a bit standoff and did not seem interested in the passengers. The cruise director was excellent. Bar staff / waiters seemed overwhelmed and service was slow. Stateroom attendant was excellent . ports in chile (except for santiago) and peru were poor and we would not do them again. Santiago and surrounding area was good. Would we do this cruise again ... No. shore excursions were expensive and limited. Read Less

We chose Celebrity because of long and frequent previous experience. To begin : embarkation in Barcelona was the worst we ever experienced. Despite our Elite statute we stood in line for 50 minutes. One man fainted in another line. Cabin with balcony very much alike to other cabins on ships of this class. Excellent steward (Francesco) . Very attentive and efficient. We have no complaint at all over meals. Great quality, variation and diversity. The high prices of wines held me back from enjoying tastings of unknown origins. The cheapest bottles varied between 35/40 $ + 18% "gratuity". Also prices of excursions were unacceptable. It was much more affordable to take a taxi for tours. We booked only one from the ship : bus tour of Rio. The evening shows : the best were those performed by the ship's own artists and particularly their fantastic orchestra. Also the magician. The different single singers and instrument players were somewhat longish. Conferences were informative and sometimes funny (Alejandro). We met a young European couple who were shocked to find out that he ship's "gratuities" standard charge was almost 25% on top of the amount they paid for the whole cruise. If you calculate the amount the total must come to a hefty extra for all staff aboard. Why not quote a correct total rate ?? One thing that shocked all passengers we later met in town was the taxi mafia at exit of cruise terminal in Buenos Aires. They charged a standard rate of 15 to 20 US$ for any ride. We took many taxis later that never amounted to more than 4 to 5 US$ . The cruise line ought to interrogate Buenos Aires port authorities about this. We heard that this same racket had been terminated at the local airports. Read Less

Embarkation was quite crowded, but the lines moved smoothly. We had outstanding service on the Eclipse, both cabin attendants and dining staff were attentive and very friendly. Cabins were adequate and were in excellent shape. Our cruise director Alejandro, was entertaining and involved with the Activities and entertainers. Throughout the ship, we experienced personnel that were motivated and always willing to assist. We chose Celebrity for an excursion in Lancerotta in the Canary Islands, not disappointed very interesting 4 hour tour of this Volcanic island. I was not impressed with the port in Santos, Brazil. Not worth the stop, I would recommend that Celebrity substitute Montevideo,Uraguay, more interesting. Very impressed with Cartagena, Spain and Buenos Aries, Argentina. Transatlantic cruise. Pros: nice ship, well kept , comfortable cabin. Cons: mediocre food....I feel they really cheapenned the menu both in main dining room and cafeteria. I had to really search to find appetizing items. In the cafeteria there was always a large section of east Indian food. I asked why and was told people want it. . I rarely saw anyone with those items. They need input from folks who understand US food preferences for US departure cruises!! And the non East Indian section was poor. I think they kept warming up the same pot of beef stews and chili for several days. A big disappointment compared to other cruise lines (NCL or Princess). Entertainment was so so. No Broadway type shows or big productions. Solo acts for the most part. Concierge class is NOT WORTH any extra money. Don't fall for it. Miniscule limp mid afternoon appetizers and use of binoculars and umbrella etc. Glassblowing hot shop was a plus. But overall a c+ grade at best. Unlikely we'll partake of celebrity again. Read Less

The crew on this ship lacks the friendliness and warmth we found on the Siloutte and Reflection. We are really disappointed with this transatlantic compared to others. Crew is detached not attentive to detail. Even Luminae staff lacks professionalism and attention to detail. Hope this is not a trend for Celebrity. Michael’s Club bartenders have no idea of what they are doing. Tables remain filled with dirty glasses, no one clears them away. They seem indifferent. Martini Bar usually my favorite is dull except for momentary encounters when they are doing their flight shows. They do not remember our drinks, dont listen to what was ask for and deliver the bill before the drink certainly leaving you not wanting to order another. This ship seems to allow cigar smoking which is really horrible. We went to Sunset Bar for sunset drinks and had to leave be because lf the stink. This ship needs to be taught by the John Paul’s, JW’s and Niazi’s of the woeld how to give customer service. What a let down this has been thus far. Only hope it improves. We love crossings and wanted to visit Ireland, so this was a perfect fit! This would have been rated as a 5 star cruise, except for a couple of things. #1We feel that the quality of the food in the main dining room has slipped or was not as good as what we have had on previous crossings on Celebrity. #2. The disembarkation in Dublin was poorly executed and did not seem to be well planned. People had to wait for hours! A shuttle was advertised at a very inflated price, but then the price was lowered at the last minute. It only dropped off at two central points which did not suit us. We booked a private transfer ahead of time and were lucky. Our driver was able to maneuver his car into the port and get us due to cell phone communication. He was only delayed 30-40 min. in getting us, so we were very lucky. We got to our hotel and continued our day without much trouble, but spoke with others who had to wait hours. This is not acceptable! Other than these things, this crossing was wonderful and we will continue to plan cruises with Celebrity! Read Less

I love Transatlantic cruises. The days at Sea and made for me! There is so much to do, and nothing whichever you wish! Embarkation on Sunday was a breeze . We were warmly welcomed by the crew, who were outstanding from start to finish! Our delicious days at Sea were fabulous. We stay on Aqua so enjoy the Spa with those warm tile beds! Blu restaurant is beyond fabulous. Terrific food and service every night. The beyond the podium speakers were really good on the trip. We learned about our destinations, fish and comedy which was most enjoyable and informative. The casino was fun at night and the blackjack dealers were patient and very professional. We enjoyed playing tri dominos in the Ocean View at night which was cozy and nice for a snack! Eddie and Guisepi were terrific at various games including trivia which was fun. Our stop mid trip in the Azores was wonderful! We took a private tour we learned about on Trip Advisor and really enjoyed the countryside and a delicious meal at a locals restaurant. Our stops in Ireland were wonderful and the Waterford tender not a problem. Again we had private tours and loved it. The entertainment was very good , and when we were not playing tri dominos we enjoyed he shows. Disembarkation in Dublin was easy. The port needs to smooth out the egress process as there were many buses and people seeming confused. Otherwise just perfect. Oh, and we loved the Indian, Mexican dishes in Oceanview, enjoying every day at lunch! Great ship and crew. My only complaint were some fellow Americans who were pushy and sometimes rude to cries members. Read Less

This was a trans Atlantic and it made stops in Ponta Delgado, Waterford, Cork, and Dublin, Ireland. We initially signed up for the following cruise to Ireland, Iceland and Shetlland Islands then decided to give this a try, our first trans Atlantic. It was a great decision. We had a very smooth crossing, way smoother than the follow on cruise. The guest entertainers were outstanding, especially Jane Curry, a singer/comedian. Her show was SRO. The Beyond the Podium speakers were also informative and entertaining. There were so many activities it was hard to decide between them. There was music throughout the ship and it seemed at all times. The CD Eddy Jenkins and the Activities Manager, Giuseppe were hilarious together and made the cruise so much fun. The service in all venues including the Oceanview was very good. Food was very good to excellent. In lieu of an included beverage package perk, we decided to take advantage of a price drop after final payment and upgraded to a Sky Suite. With lots of sea days we really appreciated Michaels Club. I loved their afternoon tea and there was usually live music to accompany it. Manuella the Michaels Club Concierge was so helpful and Neville, our evening bartender was so accommodating. Eddy Jenkins took the usual Celebrity entertainments and enhanced them. For example, the Silent Disco became the Battle of the DJs. There was an evening of ABBA with dancing and a sing along, so much fun. This is by far the best cruise we have taken. With so much entertainment you didn’t even notice the 7 days at sea before we hit land. We liked the atmosphere and the attention of the waiters in Luminae but now know we prefer the more creative dishes in Blu. However, for a 15 night cruise with so many sea days, the extra cabin space and Michaels Club was appreciated. Read Less

First time on Celebrity/ transatlantic. Smooth sailing, friendly crew, delicious food, very clean, kept us happily busy with choir, watercolor classes, and live music. Best cruise ever. Ponta Delgada (Azores, Portugal) ticked all boxes. Fell madly in love with Ireland and the Irish. Shout out to fab tour company from Dunmore East, Aruralexperience.com!!! Loved them. Small family run business, best prices and service. You'll want to take them home with you. Our driver and guide, Tom taught us so much about Ireland! Our cabin was comfy and we slept with the door to the balcony wide open. Our waiter Niek in MDR was a ray of sunshine, as was our cabin steward for cabin 8205. Happy campers! So delighted, booked another cruise with Celebrity!l Kudos to charming Mati, Chief of Security for keeping us safe, to Captain Michael for smooth sailing and to Caleb for the great job done in teaching our choir perfectly! We were fortunate to be Aqua class so the cabin was lovely, especially enjoyed the wonderful shower. The food and service in Blu was excellent! The Eclipse is in great shape. The ship is light filled and airy and the décor colors soothing and appealing. Lots of public spaces in which to sit and relax. Plenty of music venues in the evening. Several of the production shows were rather odd in concept and music choice but guess they appeal more to a younger demographic. The costumes for Topper were terrific. Did not care for the "stadium concert" show-so loud. The final show with the large air blown puppets was so creative. The ports were typical for the Caribbean and the shore excursions typically over priced. Suggest folks walk off the ship and get a tour from a local or research private tours ahead of time and book them. Nice to have a large and well staffed Future Cruise Sales office. We took advantage of it! Read Less

Very nice cruise, smooth sailing, fun passengers. Mynard, cabin attendant kept room stocked with supplies. Breakfast Room Service was excellent. Evening shows were very entertaining. The group, something, “Four” was outstanding. Can’t remember their first name. 4 young men singing “oldies” they also were on Reflection last year. Didn’t like the extra fee to use the sauna. I’m Elite, in Concierge, should have been no additional charge. Dining Room service, short staffed, NO warm rolls, just bread with small amt. of butter. Sometimes food was warm, other times not. I ordered 2 entrees, one would always be warm, Staff in shops on deck 4 not very friendly. I shopped on deck 5 which was a pleasure. I take this cruise for the TA. These small “issues” are really not so bad, the entertainers, the Eddy, the Cruise Director, Guest Relations and Enrichment Speakers were all very good. Have booked future cruise on Silhouette, just luv departing from Southampton. Embarkation was so easy to use your system, no hassles. Dining at Tuscan Grill, outstanding, food hot and delicious. My waiter was excellent, can’t remember his name, 11/7/17 6pm reservation. Joan S Read Less

Our 2nd cruise on the Eclipse. What stood out was the entertainment from evening shows to guest entertainment....were outstanding. The music throughout the various venues was varied and nice. Performers were rotated through the ship. Activities for a TA cruise was plentiful. Service was very good and management was very visible throughout the ship. I wished the time in NY was longer than 26 hrs, we arrived around 3pm and departed the next day by 5. The ship's common areas was very nice and well maintained. I wish the ship had more specialty restaurants ( Murano, Tuscan and Qzine ). They should include Sushi on 5 to specialty package. We enjoy large set dining, but too many times the table are not filled...they need to look for a different process when assigning set dining tables. Disembarking was okay, waiting for luggage after getting off ship was long. Seemed disorganized and not well timed, unlike embarkation (very smooth). Prices of shore excursions are a little high compared to excursions planned independently. Read Less

I wanted to take this cruise to satisfied four wants being met by the itinerary. I was raved to by past travelers that Celebrity was way above other cruise lines in Food, entertainment, and customer service. I found the cruise no better than any other cruise I had been on. The entertainment, for me, was sub par. I have seen so many air acrobats, I don't want to see another one. Jayne was good but, again, I don't want to see her again. and it looks like Celebrity gets their moneys worth out of her. Gilley and the girl, please. Hearing them was torture. There was an Irish comic that was very difficult to understand so, that was no pleasure. The only entertainment I did enjoy was the singer Mr. Hamilton. Our room steward (Sheldon) was excellent. He was quick and tended to a complaint we had about our shower door that I thought he would just blow off. They ran out of butter the next to the last night and one of the young ladies was going to go get us some from the Oceanview buffet. Never happened, she just blow it off, saying whatever was needed for the moment. The cruise was alright but, I didn't find it anything special. Read Less

This cruise was made by the entertainment . We had Jayne Curry , Just John andPaul , Jessie Hamilton , Flashback four and a few more great artists . Gilly and the girl were fab too. The ED was Eddie Jenkins and he was helped by Guiseppe, Lauren and Brittany who all did a great job with extra games and quizzes . The cabin was always clean as was the rest of the ship. We only ate in the MDR one night as the food in the buffet was so good and it fitted in with our timing better. We did lunch in the dining room a lot . We had a lovely smooth crossing over the Atlantic . Overall we had a ball on this cruise and everyone was so pleasant . If you think there are too many sea days on a transatlantic cruise we were sad to see them end as we really had a great time doing all the different activities . I brought six books and was worried it wasn't enough , I only got two read . The ports of call were a treat Boston , New York , Bermuda and Bahamas. In Boston we did the HoHo bus , we purchased our tickets just outside the dock. We did the same in NY and purchased show tickets at the booth in TimesSquare . Bermuda and Bahamas we were on arranged tours through cruise critic which worked out really well. Read Less

We did the Transatlantic cruise on the Eclipse in an inside cabin - we found it roomy and the bathroom was a nice size. The food at the Horizon court and the dining room was great and the service was excellent. We made use of the gym and found it well equipped The entertainment was great (except for the production shows). Eddie and all the entertainment staff were hard-working and did a great job. The entertainment with Jane Curry, just John and Paul, the Flashback 4 and other singers/magicians was great. The hot glass show put on by Corning was fascinating and we attended several times and was one of the highlights of the cruise. It was a unique opportunity to see glass artists at work and they were friendly and provided excellent commentary. Now for the bad news. We have cruised over 25 times mainly on Celebrity and Princess and have never seen such hopeless production shows. Of the 4 shows, the Broadway show was good and the other 3 were terrible. The cast tried hard but could not compensate for the bad music, bad plot and the stupid bed-sheet people. Don't they test the shows on audiences before they produce them ? Apparently not. One final note - just before arriving in Miami we were offered a deal - $49 for a bag of laundry. Talk about exorbitant.!! Read Less

We love Celebrity but this time we were disappointed. The production shows were just plain bad as were most of the other entertainers. The British female singer was fantastic and the comedian at the end of the cruise was terrific. The cost of a martini has gone up to $14 USD. Wow! Nassau as a port should be just ignored - don't even bother to get off the ship. Overnight in New York was very special since we were able to get tickets to a Broadway show. Boston was historically delightful but cold. Having dinner in the Murano is absolutely a must. Dinner in Qsine is a fun time with many tapas type bites from around the world. The lamb and the filet mignon were top drawer. Order the Lobster Murano flambe and go back for the incredible sole boned at the table. Met great passengers e hope to see again. Overall worth the money if you don't care about entertainment. Read Less
