We are a family of 5 with 3 daughters, 19,17,and 4. We wanted to travel to Europe but figured it was a better value and easier route to go on a cruise since we have a 4 year old. That way we could unpack and set up a routine, including valuable pool time and a familiar bed for this 9 port cruise. My husband and I had sailed in the Caribbean with Constellation previously and even though it is an older ship we enjoyed our past cruise and have nothing to complain about concerning the ship - though somewhat dated, it is kept clean and maintained adequately. Our whole family just loved this cruise! Being able to get to all those ports in Europe was just an incredible experience and we loved this itinerary since we got to see so much of the Meditteranean and a taste of the Adriatic. Our servers, room steward and staff around the ship was friendly and helpful. The cruise director, Alexandro, was hilarious, the singers around the ship were great, the guest performers, Vox Fortura, were excellent, and the ship singers and dancers on the main stage were great as well. They even did a matinee show during the day at sea which was well done - slightly strange storylline our 4 year old couldn't follow, but she liked the stage performance. We had a veranda room in the back which was awesome! Heard some chairs scraping on the Oceanview early in the morning but didn't matter too much because we were up early to venture out every day. The sleeping quarters worked out fine for our family, but if our older girls were larger or boys of that age it would have been too tight. Plenty of storage and closet space, and a huge mirror to get ready, just annoying there was only one outlet by the mirror which my daughters and I fought for. The only complaint I would have is that we ordered room service for breakfast a couple times when we had an early excursion and never got what we ordered - also got juice and coffee everyday ordered to come between 7-730 and it always came 6:45 or slightly earlier. Our young daughter loved the smaller pool and it is nice they provide life jackets for them if needed. We used the Oceanview cafe for breakfast only, lunch as well on the sea day. There's plenty to choose from, quality varies there but the food in the main dining room always had something for everyone. We had no trouble just going down and getting seated with our same waiter whenever we showed up, which was always between 5:45 - 7 PM. Easy embarkation and debarkation. We always did the ports on our own or hired private drivers. We think the ship excursions are way overpriced. We are not big drinkers so just had the 3 bottle wine special which was I think 120. Since we ate lunch in port we would sometimes get wine or beer then. Our children did not do the kids clubs - we were having too much fun just being a family together! Ports Barcelona- Had a couple days here before we set sail. Awesome city with beautiful Gaudi architecture, history, people watching, walking! Toulon - (La Seyne Sur Mer) I read about this port beforehand and knew we didn't want to stay here. Took a cab to the train station (Six Fours) and got a train to CAssis. Awesome city - super picturesque, took the 45 Min Calanques Ferry (pretty but we've seen similar in the US) and walked around town. The big issue was we couldn't find a cab or bus to take us to and from the town to the train station so be prepared for a steep walk on the way back if you go. Villefranche - toured the lovely city, then took the train to Nice and walked around. La Spezia - took the ferry to Portovenere and explored this beautiful, picturesque area. Civitavecchia - hired Rafael, from mycabinrome.com to take us to certain highlights around Rome. He was right on time picking us up in port with a newer van with AC, very knowledgeable about the ancient history of Rome, even helped us meet up with some family for lunch. Highly recommend! Naples - Used See Amalfi Coast company (driver Giovanni) to drive us to various towns on the Amalfi Coast. There was some confusion at pick up - we were told to meet him at the cruise terminal so took a shuttle there to wait for him - he went straight to the ship so we missed each other. Eventually with a few calls he found us. Giovanni was excellent, kept an eye on traffic conditions near Positano and after consulting us, we changed our itinerary to reduce our time in traffic and see a couple more towns instead. The scenery is gorgeous! Our daughter got carsick so take your Dramamine! Kotor, Montenegro - Gorgeous ride in - wake up early for this awesome display of God's handiwork!! We walked through the old town and straight up to the top of the fortress first thing in the morning - 1350 steps up with a 4 year old! If you do this climb you need to do it first thing before the sun bakes the trail. Split, Croatia - explored Diocletian's palace, some of us went up the bell tower. There isn't much to do/see here after that in port, especially after seeing Kotor. Venice - we got an airbnb here for a couple days after disembarkation. Took the Alilaguna straight from the cruise terminal to a spot near our apt. Recommend getting the 24 ACTV waterbus pass so you can go up/down the Grand CAnal, take a side trip to Murano or Burano. We went to Burano where all the houses are painted various bright colors - super great photo spot! Wish it was in the budget to do this more often - it was an awesome trip! Read Less

We booked this cruise for the exciting itinerary. We were concerned after reading some previous reviews that the ship would disappoint. We kept out expectations realistic and were very pleasantly surprised. We loved the layout of the ship. We have been on 10 cruises and we prefer the older style ships as we feel they offer more space and a lovely relaxed feel. The food was very good at all the restaurants. Although we had access to Blu with our cabin class we chose to dine at San Marco every night with the rest of our family and loved the atmosphere and food quality. We enjoyed the shows and the variety of entertainment and we loved the outdoor cinema. We were very happy with our cabins and found the storage to be more then other ships. The crew were fantastic! Its amazing how they turn up each day with so much enthusiasm and energy for their jobs. Well done to Celebrity for creating, from what we could see, a strong crew morale. Our recommendations would be to keep your expectations realistic and you'll probably be pleasantly surprised. How could we complain over spending two weeks being totally waited on and entertained? We are a Canadian couple in our early 50's have done both cruising and all inclusive packages. This was our 20th cruise and 2nd with Celebrity. ( some back ground details so you understand this was not our first experience at travel.) We had chosen Celebrity as this was our second European journey with Celebrity. Love the size of the ships and the itineraries. We also landed a few perks that were nice incentives as well. Embarkation was smooth and quick in Venice. We did stay at an Airbnb for 3 days prior to tour around. Water taxis are easy to negotiate in Venice. Purchase a multi day pass and explore on and off. We water taxied from the airport to our Airbnb. Easy peasy. Just research in advance. We were on the ship in 20 mins of arrival at the port. Smooth, checked in and eating our lunch on board at 12:30 cabins were ready at 1:30 luggage at room by 2:30pm Muster drill at 3:45ish then off to the races for 10 amazing days. The ship is wonderful. My only complaint. Not even a complaint more of an observation was the main piazza. It really did not exist like in most ships there is a vast opening from the 3rd floor all the way up to the 7th. Seats all around so you can ppl watch and listen to entertainment. As this is an older ship the design, it is quint and areas are choppy. Like I said an observation and unique. Not a disappointment. The staff were friendly and polite at all times. They are hard working people miles away from their families for months on end to ensure that we as passengers have a pleasurable experience. I often get to know our waiters, they have wonderful stories. Food was excellent. Bar service never an issue. The Classic booze package was just perfect. House wines wonderful, from Tuscany, Chili, South Africa to name a few. Did not feel the pressure to upsell at all. Spirits were plentiful and mid range. Really unless you are a alcohol expert Classic is perfect. Cabin was well appointed. Balcony was perfect size, room steward was tentative. Our ports. 1. Koper Slovenia: itself is very small, so an hour or so is likely to be enough time to stroll then head out and explore. Ships dock opposite a lift which takes you up to town level. You can also walk its about 6mins. We took the public from Koper to Piran which is a really pretty town a little along the coast and the drive there and back has some scenery too. Regular city buses and inexpensive. Travel every 30 mins to and from Piran is a must. Go to the info centre and we booked a 7 Euro per person walking tour for 90 mins. It was excellent. Such a beautiful spot and have the narrative along the way was exceptional. Eat at a seaside restaurant. Excellent seafood. 2. Zadar Croatia: Free shuttle from the ship to town. Bus lets you off at the boardwalk first hit the The Sea Organs (http://vinovo.magnify.net/video/ZADAR-Morske-orgulje-Sea-Orga) Then continue on the board walk into old town. Explore I suggest you stay in the old part of the town, sit in a caffees, do some people watching, than change a spot and do the same. The church St. Donat and the treasury chamber are worth the visit inside, other than that Zadar is more an experience of strolling through the streets (like ST. Paul de Vence near Nice or Aix a Provance near Marsellies if you are familiar). 3. Dubrovnik Croatia. Having stayed there 6 yrs ago did not want to visit old town. That is amazing and walk to the bus terminal which is adjacent to the cruise terminal and busses travel to and from old town for cheap. .The ship charges 5 xs the cost for the same thing. We opted to visit sea-side town of Cavtat. Not a long bus ride but what a beautiful town. We just strolled along the waterside that borders the town. Swam in the Adriatic. 5 areas to sun yourself on a pier. rent chairs and relax for a couple of hours. A lot of nice café’s and places to sit as you walk. Hiking / walking paths easily marked worth strolling. What a great day and a must see this town. A ferry ride back to Dubrovnik or the bus. we opted for the bus as it brought us back to the terminal next to the ship. You can take Libertas #10 from the Gruz Harbor directly to Cavtat. Bus cost is 25 Kuna per person, no foreign currency. Take the small boat back to the old town, 4.Kotor Montenegro. Wake up early and watch the sights pulling into the harbor.Bay of Kotor surrounded by steep, mountains lined with historic buildings, churches, towers, docks, and marinas along the shore. It’s onthe list of the 25 most beautiful bays in the world. We tendered and walked the stairs 430 up the side of the mountain. The views amazing. Arrive early and do this. the hike up is aprox 50 mins. Not for the faint of heart. Bring water. The walk down was good but started to get crowed by fellow tourists. Spend the rest of the day in Old town getting lost in the streets and enjoy an Aperol Sprits and seafood. 5. Sea day..need I say more. Sleep in and enjoy the amenities of the ship. Message special at the spa for this day. FYI. Book it the evening before they promo that on the ship. 6 & 7. Malta Valetta. 2 days. purchase the hop on hop off pass for 2 days. 32.00 usa and it is charged to your room by the ship. Excellent cheap way to see the Island. We did the red line one day and the blue line the next. Spent time in the old town. they have 2 for 1 dinks on the main street. 2 aperol spritz for the price of one. Good way to finish an afternoon. We swam in the Mediterranean at the Grotto. 8. Sicily - Sircusa ( did not stop in Catania Italy due to berth availability.) Sircusa was an amazing surprise. Tender to the Island. Walk to the right. find the market what a great experience. The market with the local produce, spices, cheeses and the vibe of the shop keepers. Stoll old town and have a lunch. Walk the marina. Impressive yachts. 9. Naples. Having been before we opted for the Fast ferry to Capri. Beautiful, stunning and totally worth the 40min Ferry ride. Ferry from Naples to Capri departs at 8:35 / 9:10 Purchase at the ferry. Once on Capri immediately purchase ticket for Naples ( fills up fast) Capri harbour a taxi or trolly up to the town for glorious views - especially dizzying vertical views waaaaay down to sea- level from viewpoints on the edge of town. Capri there are a number of little restaurants and shops right by the docks Don't buy the ticket online ahead of time. When you get off the ship just go to the left and you can buy your ticket. Check the schedules though as you may not want a round trip with the ferry company. Some are faster then others. If you aren't going round trip with the same company just buy your ticket in Capri right there when you get there and you are set for your return. Be sure to do the chair lift, the views are amazing!!!!!!. We hiked the Arco Nature walk. totally worth the view. took us 25 mins of meandering through small walk ways with surprising views around each corner. Away from the crowds. It was fabulous. We had a great sea view lunch then back to the ship on the 2:50 Ferry gave us time to relax on the ship. 10. Rome. Having been before. Unfortunately high tailed it to the airport. aprox 50 mins from the port. Pre arrange a driver. Fellow travellers are congested at this port trying to arrange for transportation. If you choose to do Rome for a few days. It is a must. Book and Airbnb. Book tours through Viator. and take in the sights and food you will not be disappointed. This was an amazing journey. My apologies if this seemed long winded. These reviews do help me with journaling my travels. I found these tips to be of help for me while doing my research. I hope this will be of benefit to others. Celebrity will not disappoint. Bon voyage. Ciao Safe travels. Read Less

BACKGROUND My DW and I are Diamond RCCL cruisers, we decided to give Celebrity a try to open up more itinerary choices. The fact that Celebrity gives us Elite status was another deciding factor. We have sailed smaller ships and mega ships before and are ok with either, understanding that we usually have to give up size for a more unique itinerary. We chose this Constellation 9 night cruise based on the Barcelona to Venice Mediterranean sailing that included Croatia and Montenegro. PRE-CRUISE Had no problems with the Celebrity website, the booking process, selection of meal times, tours, etc. I was able to set up my schedule exactly the way I wanted. Bought a couple of excursions. So far so good… I have to say that I was a bit dismayed with some of the recent Constellation reviews on Cruise Critic. A few of them described the ship as being “in major disrepair” and as being filthy. There were also reviews that complained about terrible service and rude staff members. As an experienced reader of reviews, I understand that opinions can vary widely. I also understood this ship wasn’t built yesterday. EMBARKATION (BARCELONA) Was a breeze. This time we opted for a later pier arrival (so that we could enjoy a few last hours of Barcelona) of around 2:30ish and we basically were able to walk on, go directly to our room, etc. We had priority boarding but really didn’t need it. We were able to buy some wine in the port store and carry it on with no issues. THE SHIP Obviously not a new ship, the Constellation does show some wear and tear. To describe it as being in “major disrepair” or “filthy” is simply ridiculous. Ship was certainly clean and we observed adequate ongoing cleaning activities. We spent most of our deck time in the solarium and there was always an attendant there cleaning and drying the floors from pool and spa splashes. Most of the deck chairs looked brand new. The carpeting didn’t even appear that worn to me. After reading those scathing reviews read pre-cruise, I was very pleased with the ship’s condition. Layout was also easy to learn. THE CABIN – 8002 We usually opt for a balcony but settled for an Oceanview (booked a Guarantee) in order to spend more on sightseeing, etc. We were assigned cabin 8002 which turned out to be a really oversized oceanview (due to the shape of the outside of the ship and the hallway, this cabin is like 30-40% longer than the standard oceanview. We really enjoyed the space!! The location of the cabin (extreme FWD) was not of any consequence regarding noise or movement on this sailing. Regarding condition/cleanliness – perhaps a little (and I mean a little) wear and tear, but very clean. We had no complaints about the cabin. Our Cabin Steward, Neil from India, was fantastic (best we’ve ever had on any cruise). Always a big plus when the Steward seeks you out on day one to both greet you and to find out if you have any questions/requests. DINING Always subjective, but here goes. We had Select Dining and I made reservations for dinners pre-cruise. We only really had an issue on night one when we waited in the reservation line for 30 minutes (behind a large group of suite guests with NO reservation that were trying to get multiple tables together, by the windows, etc, etc). IMO, the hostess really should have pulled this group aside to seat those in line WITH reservations. When we finally got to the hostess, she declared “you’re late for your reservation”, to which I replied “think it’s the other way around because we were here on time”. We were automatically seated at tables for two, which by the way, are like 6 inches from other tables for two. Really more like a table for four. We didn’t mind the closeness (we met some really great couples) but there is a bit of awkwardness because the food is coming at different times at each table of two - since the couples are seated at different times. On to the dining room food quality: overall, a bit better than RCCL. The prime rib was really good, as were the fish dishes. Loved having some new choices. Service in the dining room was very good overall, think we had one waiter on one night that was just average. No issues at all with wine and drink service either. We have had issues in the past on RCCL (getting timely drinks in the dining room), no issues on the Constellation. The Oceanview Café was also a positive experience for us. A big plus was that there were always open seats (which is not the case on the larger RCCL ships). I give the food quality and selection a slight edge over RCCL. We did not eat in any specialty restaurants. THE STAFF Our overall experience with Constellation staff members was excellent. I already mentioned our exemplary Cabin Steward. Many, many staff members called us by name (more so than any previous cruise). Of the several dining room teams that served us dinner, we only had one waiter that was “so-so”. The Captain’s Club Ambassador was very attentive during the evening happy hour. Our one interface with Guest Services (complaints about the really crappy internet) was handled to our satisfaction. The staff members in the Oceanview Café were very efficient, dirty plates were always quickly removed- pleasantly. I was also impressed with how organized the queues for excursions were handled by those staff members. I mentioned the slightly snooty Select Dining hostess -after the first night our interactions with her were fine. So, call me completely puzzled by those negative staff reviews I’d read pre-cruise….. CAPTAIN’S CLUB Certainly enjoyed the nightly cocktail hour(s). No drink coupons loaded on the card for this cruise, the cocktail crowd was always pretty small. Appetizers at the Elite happy hour were pretty weak, IMO the RCCL Diamond Lounge had better offerings. The free bags of laundry were fantastic. Also enjoyed the Elite breakfast. MISCELLANEOUS COMMENTS BEDDING- we slept fine but the mattresses could definitely use an upgrade. Also, it appears Celebrity does not use that foam “crack filler” when beds are pushed together? INTERNET- Absolutely horrible on this cruise. We could hardly get into our email, forget about uploading more than one picture at a time. After complaining at Guest Services, we were sent to talk to the “specialist” in the IT Lounge. He admitted that on that cruise the bandwith was “not what they had hoped for”. We ended up getting a 50% refund which I thought was fair. INTERACTIVE TV- How about posting the dining room menus here? Also was able to view my daily schedule on the newer RCCL ships, missed that here…. FELLOW PASSENGERS- Maybe it was the itinerary, maybe it was Celebrity – not sure which, but as a whole, we experienced a great group of savvy travelers (with the exception of the guy grabbing the buffet food with his hands – there has to be one on every cruise). Average age was also younger than we expected. CONCLUSION We enjoyed our first Celebrity cruise and would not hesitate to consider this line in the future. We look at Celebrity as an extension of RCCL, the slightly better food and service being an extra perk. Really wish we still earned RCCL points for Celebrity sailings though!! Read Less

We embarked the ship around 12:00pm, and our rooms weren’t ready until 1:00pm however it did give us a chance to explore the ship & enjoy the food. On the first evening the restaurants were super busy - so i would recommend booking or turing up early. However we did manage to find a table at the Tuscan restaurant where the staff were very friendly and accomodating & gave us very generous portions! The rest of the nights we ate at the San Marco restaurant (where we had to book each evening) but it did mean that we had the same waiters each night & they got to know us very well. Our main waiter Santosa, was extremely friendly & gave us recommendations each night on what to eat. By the last couple of nights he knew exactly what we liked to drink (so he would pre-order our drinks for us) and what our favourites were on the menu. He also referred to me & my family as Miss, Sir and Madame. For me personally, the friendly & generous staff in this restaurant were what made the holiday. Again, the rooms were lovely & not dated (i was warey of this as other reviews did mention it). Our room steward was again very friendly & helpful, making our beds each day & changing the towels twice a day. My family & i went on three shore excursions which were good. We went to Rome, Venice & Pisa. The tour guides were excellent, and had a lot of information to offer. The tours were well organised (on celebrity’s behalf), especially if you didn’t have a tour booked you could easily get off and on the ship to explore the cities. The only negative i would have is that the on board facilities are minimal and they could have more to offer, for instance a bigger swimming pool - but you do know this when booking th cruise! Overall, i had an incredible holiday & would particularly like to highlight the amazing staff on the ship as their friendliness and services were above and beyond what i ever expected! Read Less

We chose this cruise for the ports. It was a wonderful experience. Our cabin steward was kind, caring, and attentive. A very hard worker and we appreciated his trustworthiness! The ship shows some signs of age, especially in the cabin bathrooms but it didn’t impede our enjoyment. Food was okay, not the best we have had but the staff all over the ship were great - especially in the kids club. The programming for kids was great. Our son, 10, loved it! He made friend with other children from all over the world and he couldn’t wait to go back every day. It gave us time to ourselves and him time to be a kid. Our least favorite poet was, sadly, Split. I so wanted it to be better than it was. Crowded and beyond hot. It was unbearable. The rest of the ports were awesome! Side note - we felt hiring private guides was better and less expensive that ship excursions. I’d recommend this cruise and ship. Go- have fun! Read Less

This was our first cruise and from the outset the travel agent we arranged through assured us we were comingin at a high level, with the Celebrity experience recognised as one of the best. He was right - everything about this cruise was fantastic from start to finish. For months in advance I looked at every website I could find which carried information on the Constellation and published reviews. I tried to be as sensible as I could about those who posted negative reviews but have to admit to being a bit concerned about those that talked about a tired, old ship. In my honest opinion, and allowing for not having anything to judge by and accepting that some people may genuinely have had some issues that I am unaware of, this is a very unfair assessment. The ship was beautifully decorated and maintained. The staff from start to finish were friendly, helpful and attentive. The itinerary (which we picked the cruise for) was perfect and was made even better by the really lovely atmosphere on the ship. The food was exceptional and, while we stuck mainly to the Ocean View and San Marco, we did on one occasion (my birthday) take a meal on Sushi on Five. That was both fantastic and extremely reasonable for what we got - indeed the staff actually helped us select and in doing so made sure we did not over-order. Which takes me to comments about pushy arroaches to upgrade - not once in my experience. Somehow, and this is still unclear to me, the staff found out that I was celebrating a birthday and brought me a cake that they had prepared while we ate! All in all, absolutely perfect and I am hooked on both crusing generally and cruising with Celebrity in particular. A massive thanks to all at Celebrity! Read Less

The itinerary to UAE, India and Asian ports in this different part of the world was the attraction for us to choose this cruise. And it was amazing to see the culture and background of these wonderful countries with a taste of their life in each port. We went from the vast wealth of the UAE ports where money is no object in those countries to the sheer poverty, chaos and massive population in India - it was a huge contrast to compare. The weather in March/April was hot and humid - low to mid thirties each day and warm at night. We only wore summer clothes for the entire cruise. Our overall experience onboard was excellent in every aspect especially crew customer service in all areas of the ship. The food onboard was delicious and varied and most enjoyable. We did not visit any specialty restaurants. The evening entertainment in the theatre was varied and excellent with a variety of great performers. The band were fantastic. The musical entertainment throughout the day and evening was by a couple of bands, singers and musicians which offered great variety. TheLifestyle staff Jeanna and Gigi were energetic and amusing in all their activities. Our cabin was FV 7202 which was rear facing at the back of the ship with a massive balcony and an additional room which offered great accommodation for extra family members. We arranged all of our own shore excursions in each port so cannot comment on those provided by Celebrity. Embarkation in Abu Dhabi was slow and took 1.5 hours to get onboard - they need more check in staff there. This is a small ship with only 2000 passengers and we never felt there was a long wait time for anything onboard - disembarkation at each port was quick as we did not do any celebrity shore excursions so we could walk off when we were ready. Tendering at Patong Beach in Phuket was a little slow as they only used 4 launches so there was a delay in getting ashore on that day. Our family had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this cruise on Constellation. Read Less

This was our first time cruising with Celebrity so we were a little unsure what to expect but we needn't have worried as all the family have had a brilliant time onboard and in the ports. Constellation isnt the biggest ship but is well laid out and has a great atmosphere. yes, as some other reviewers have mentioned it is showing it's age in places and is looking a little tired in some areas, some of the balconies are rusty and some of the carpets in the the public lounges are showing a lot of wear. However, the maintenance team seem to work around the clock painting etc and the ship overall is very clean. Our cabin was of a good size, the balcony was not the largest and was showing signs of wear with rusting etc but perfectly adequate. Our cabin steward Yogis did a good job of looking after us and was always on hand to help with whatever we needed. As we were not allowed to take our own kettle we requested one from Yogis and it was brought to the cabin immediately. We thought the food overall was of a high standard particularly in the Marco Polo Restaurant - we did not try any of the speciality restaurants as we are of the view that we have already paid for our meals therefore don't agree with having to pay again to eat in the other restaurants though this is just our opinion. The buffet restaurant got really busy, although we did go there on a few occasions the food was tasty enough but not always very hot. Also the drinks service in the buffet restaurant is VERY slow, often we had finished our meals before the waiter had brought our drinks - this is an area that needs to be improved on. We usually managed to get a sun lounger even on sea days but as always seems to be the case there are a large number of selfish people who put towels on loungers to reserve them but never actually use them. Many occasions we saw loungers not being used for hours at a time when there were people walking up and down the decks trying to find one. Celebrity really need to sort this issue out and have the Pool Butlers monitoring this issue as this practice is unfair to other passengers. Entertainment was mixed, some great nights, others not so obviously down to personal taste. The silent disco were our best nights, loads of fun and really great nights. To summarise, we had a really great time, we liked the ship and thought the service on the whole was excellent with a friendly crew. We would definitely choose Celebrity again. Read Less

This is our 2nd cruise with Celebrity, having cruised from Sydney to Honolulu in April of 2016 on board the Solstice. We knew that the Constellation was a older ship, and did have some reservations about going on a older and smaller ship, but it did have a couple of refits over the past few years, most recently in May of 2017, so we hope it was up to the Solstice class standard. We need not have worried. Other than a few areas of rust, and a little paint overspray in areas, the ship was very clean, especially our stateroom, which was immaculate. It was Concierge Class on deck 9 (9141), and really looked brand new. Our stateroom attendant (Sidney) was excellent. He couldn't do enough for you. Even with tips being included in the fare we paid, we gave him extra anyway. He deserved it. Every day before 4pm we would have an ice bucket with sparkling wine delivered, without even asking! I thought we just received a welcome bottle with Concierge Class, but we received a bottle everyday... I suppose it all goes down to how you treat and respect the staff... We started our holiday in Dubai, so had transport down to Abu Dhabi on the day of embarkation. While the terminal in Abu Dhabi was a bit chaotic, with the many questions about India Visa's, we got on board after about 1 hour. Our bags arrived at our stateroom within 30 minutes, although others in our party (we had 8 in 4 Concierge Class rooms in a row) had to wait 2-3 hours before their bags arrived. We had the premium drinks package for all, and also a 3 specialty restaurant package. Tuscan Grill, Sushi on 5, and QSine were all exceptional. Food excellent, and the service outstanding. We found a wine really to our liking in Tuscan Grill, and when I asked for it in the MDR, they especially went up to Tuscan Grill to bring a few bottle’s down. From then on, whenever we dined in the MDR, they brought us the wine, to the point where our favorite sommelier (Lawrence) ensured that bottles were brought down early and chilled, so they were ready for us each evening. Food in the MDR was very good as well, just not as good as the specialty restaurants. Breakfast and lunch were mainly in the Ocenview Cafe, which was good, but not great. Not a lot of variety, but some days were great - there was whole suckling pig for lunch one day which was divine. Only had dinner once there and it was disappointing. The entertainment was good, but I must admit, we only got to half the evening shows due to timing and having a relaxing dinner a few of the nights. Highlight was the violinist, who was amazing. Can’t remember her name. She had an electric violin and she could really play! All the other performers were very good, but she stood out. Ports were ok, but nothing to really rave about. Oman landscape spectacular, but city itself not too much to see other than the Palace, Mosque and Souk. All done easily in the time we had. Goa was what I expected of India, a bit dirty, chaotic, interesting sights and sounds, produce markets etc… Goa was my favourite stop. Mumbai – never have seen worse pollution, either in the sea, land, or air. The airbourne particles were so thick that even after only 36 hours the ship had a fine layer of soot on all outdoor surfaces. Not a highlight… All in all, a great trip, and the cruise itself was more that we hoped for, and in my opinion, the service was slightly better than on the Solstice last year. Our entire travelling party enjoyed the Constellation so much we booked again for next year while onboard. Read Less

Just returned from the Arabian Sea Adventure on Celebrity Constellation. Have to say we were a bit worried by all the reviews after we had booked and many said the ship was tired and well worn. Well, I do not know which part they were looking at, but we found it to be wonderful everywhere. The beautiful coordinated furniture, comfy chairs and multiple lounge areas were superb. (so often there is no where to sit on a cruise ship and coffee shops etc are so full you end up back in your cabin!) We would recommend Celebrity to anyone who wants a truly wonderful ship; fantastic staff; superb food and great staterooms to book with Celebrity. We have not been on other ships in the Celebrity fleet, but will certainly have Celebrity on the top of our future cruise company list before booking elsewhere. (NB: We are not first timers - we have cruised with many other companies and Celebrity certainly comes top with us). The food was exceptional in every area. The Buffet food was great with variety and really good quality food. This was unfortunately marred by seeing other guests who ate wearing just a vest - dreadful; the other restaurants were stunning and it was lovely to have the 'chique' nights too. As a Sky Suite passenger, we were fortunate enough to eat in Lumiere most of the time, which was exceptional in every detail. Plus having Michaels lounge as a little hideaway was truly brilliant. Nadia and her team really made every day a wonderful experience. Read Less

As a first time cruiser, travelling with a disabled person, I had read some reviews that worried me but Connie and her staff were fabulous. My companions and I found the staff to be extremely proactive at offering help. We had a super quick check-in where staff came forward to assist us and get us through every stage quickly. The ship is spotless, the crew friendly, caring and professional. We had two balcony staterooms, one at the stern and the other on the starboard side. This meant we always had a great view of sail always or port arrivals. Departing Venice on the stern balcony was breath taking as was arriving at Corfu. The two stewards attending our rooms were outstanding, offering a friendly smile or assistance whenever they saw us. We found the ship had plenty to entertain us and we would definitely pick a cruise on Constellation again. We had an amazing holiday. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of the itinery which allowed for an overnight in Dubrovnik and a further sea day later on. The ship had had a refit in May and you could see new carpet in most areas and most public areas looked great - not sure what other reviewers mean by tired as we didn;t notice this in public areas. Our cabin was a bit tired and there was rust on the balcony but otherwise the cabin was fine. Service was excellent in all areas -again, was expecting this to be worse than our previous Celebrity cruises from some reviews - but we had good, fast service and in all lounges the areas were well attended e.g. in Reflections from 10pm waiters arrived to serve during the bands and you were turning them down they circulated so often. Main dining room - generally good food - some strange choices on some nights but we looked at the menu then decided to eat elsewhere if nothing appealed. Our waiter (Clint) and helper (Yanti) were great as was the sommelier too. The Ocean View buffet is now great in the evening and offers a really high quality alternative to the MDR. The Greek nights were superb - three large Greek joints of meat and other Greek meals on offer. On the last day there was a great dessert display with croque en bouche and baked alaskas etc (photo). Qsine was good but they need to change some meal choices as we had been before 2 years ago and little seem to have changed. The ipad concept is now wearing thin too - no longer innovative. They need to lose the Sushi on 5 and change to a Tempanyaki that many other cruise companies have or have a "Lawn Grill" type restaurant from the larger ships. The ports were great. The excursions well organised as always. No issues with guides - all excellent, as has been our previous experience. The entertainment was excellent in the Reflections area - the three bands and DJ good. The main house band were outstanding - Just in Time. The lead singer is quite simply something else in her energy and a very high standard. The CD was visible and to the point and the young Activities leader, Emily was fabulous. They both said goodbye to guests on disembarkation - never seen this before and it was appreciated they made the effort. The theatre shows were a bit more hit and miss than we have experienced before but maybe not our taste. We loved Clare Maidin - superb pianist/singer we had heard on Reflection last year. The Base Tones and Mo Town performer were excellent too. There was a poor comedian, magician and Sam Kane who was strangely popular with some but we didn't enjoy his mimicking of Dean Martin. Two shows we attended by the cast - the Movies theme and world theme - both very good. We had seen the other two before (fairy tale and the over 18s one) and neither were good to our taste. (It did make me laugh to hear a lady refer to this show before she went to see it as the "Sex Show" - she must have been disappointed to see a poorly written panto which is delivered by a large Julian Clary wannabe.) Overall, we had a great cruise and would go again with Celebrity and on Constellation. The customer service is excellent and the ship a happy one. Read Less

We we a family of four with two teenage boys (13 and 15) , originally we chose this cruise for the itinerary and having sailed the previous year on the Reflection we wanted to visit a mixture of places we had been to before with some new ones thrown in. Having booked and then subsequently reading the reviews of the Constellation I was concerned that is wasn't going to be a patch on the Reflection(especially as its missing the Lawn Grill) However how wrong could we be, this ship is smaller yes but somehow it still had everything you need with the added extra of the outdoor cinema. The service in the bars and San Marco restaurant was outstanding and the food was soo good we didn't even consider eating at any of the speciality restaurants. The sunset bar was our favourite spot for sail away and post dinner cocktails. We only went to a couple of shows as these are not really our thing and whilst we didn't enjoy the magician particularly, we loved the base tones the following night and the late night comedy on the final evening. The teens also had a ball , after meeting up with others on the first night in the X Club , whenever we were on the ship they were off with their friends, only gracing us with their presence for dinner. They really get a chance to feel grown up and trusted to stay up late , but in safe surrounding with no access to alcohol. I would not hesitate to sail on the Constellation again most definitely our best cruise holiday to date. Read Less

We were three friends cruising with our three moms. We all had a great time even though when we booked it we thought it would be more for the moms than for us. A great ship, great service, excellent staff and good food, many people say excellent food but we live in Spain and it's hard to equal great Spanish food! The entertainment was good and the ports of call were also good except for Valencia, it's not worth an overnight stop. We stayed in a ocean view stateroom which was fine, the cabin doesn't look that big but there really is loads of storage room. I liked the size of the ship because I never had the feeling of being crowded. The atmosphere onboard is casual and everyone does there own thing which is good. I would recommend this cruise to anyone on a first time cruise like us! Read Less

Family cruise with 11 members, this cruise fit the bill for everyone's requirements. Ship is large but not huge. The food was excellent, we ate at the Oceanview Buffet and the San Marco Restaurant only. Didn't feel the need to spend more in the other restaurants. Tried the gym for yoga and Pilates, both good. The ship provided the mats, straps and blocks. Evening entertainment wasn't my thing, but some family members enjoyed it. Since I was up early ended up going to bed early! Took 2 shore excursions, the bike rides in Ibiza and Mallorca. Both good, Ibiza one was pretty active, Mallorca was more informative. Most times we just got off the ship and made our own way to a destination. Most destinations were decent, although Toulon could have been dropped. Not really near anywhere and required a $20 (round trip) boat taxi. Public areas were spotless. Constantly saw staff cleaning. Pool area was decent and could always find a spot to rest, deck 4 had some quieter recliners. One criticism was the constant live bands all over the ship. Had a hard time hearing family when they were playing, and sometimes they weren't that good. Staff on-board were faultless. From the tender service, hand gel staff, housekeepers, restaurant, bar staff, guest services EVERYONE smiled and was courteous. From the moment we got to embarkation everything went smoothly. This was only my 3rd cruise but the best so far. On-board, met with other cruisers who were far more cruise savvy than me, and they loved Celebrity. Very multinational guests. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of the ports of call. We we totally pleased with the ship and the service. The cabin was larger than other cruises I've been on. The ship was beautiful and just the right size. We totally enjoyed having breakfast in the Oceanside Cafe every morning and I absolutely loved having my own "coffee guy". Oceanview was also open for a late lunch when we returned to the ship. The food in the Main Dining room was excellent and we were encouraged to order more than one appetizer and entree for dinner. We did the select dining, which gave us the flexibility to have dinner whenever we wanted to. We especially enjoyed the cold towels waiting for us when we returned to the ship every day. Overall, service was excellent. As far as the ports of call... Croatia was beautiful. We stopped in Zadar, Dubrovnik and Split. In Zadar we saw the Sea Organ and went to the Archological Museum. We walked the wall in Dubrovnik and this was one of the most beautiful ports. In Split we took a car to Krka National Park, which was beautiful. Slovenia was beautiful (we went to Ljubjana and Lake Bled) and Koter Montenegro which was AMAZING!! Breathtaking!! Highly recommended. The pool was not too crowded and we enjoyed relaxing the Solarium pool. Had fun playing ping pong and bingo on board. Lots of activities at any time of the day. Nighly shows were wonderful...magic, juggler, singers, violinist, etc. Wide variety for everyone. Highly recommended. Read Less

Had never sailed with Celebrity before. Onlinevacationcenter.com had a very attractive price to SE Asia, so we chose this cruise We have sailed to this destination before on a different cruise line, but were pleasantly surprised by Celebrity. The entertainment was the best we have ever experienced, and the dining quality was the best, also. Embarkation and disembarking were very well organized and smooth. Ships employees were very friendly and helpful, always greeting you with a smile and a squirt of Purell. The buffet was large with numerous choices, all of which were tasty. The nightlife for late night dancing or having a drink was very active with a lot of people on the dance floor. The band was very good, and played a large variety of music. We stayed in a Singapore hotel for two nights before our cruise started, and one night when we returned to Singapore. Will definitely give Celebrity the first consideration on furure cruises. We chose the Constellation over the Millennium primarily because it garnered better reviews and had Ocean Liners intact. Both sailed out of Singapore, which would have saved us air tickets and time travelling to port. We were initially slightly apprehensive about sailing our longest ever voyage on one of the oldest and smallest ships we have done. These fears were unfounded. The crew was excellent and their enthusiasm, sincerity and professionalism stood out. Our cabin (a Penthouse) was huge, with more than enough room and we were truly pampered onboard. Our cabin steward and butler were both very helpful and full of initiative, meeting our needs even before we realised we had them! Entertainment was of a consistently high standard, with the exception of the Broadway revue, which needed more rehearsal time. Food was hit and miss but the service standards of the crew in Luminae could not be faulted. Our experiences in Ocean Liners (thrice) and Tuscan Grille (once, at lunch on a sea day) were both very good. OL food was hit and miss but service was excellent; Tuscan had both very good food and service and we regretted not booking for dinner. Specialty dining was complimentary for our suite but we were travelling in a big group and therefore could not utilise the perk as often as we would have liked. Sushi on 5 had great rolls but sashimi was mediocre. Service by Zeus was outstanding as usual. We did not expect our child to enjoy the Kids' club but she did. More so than on a typical RCL cruise, which was surprising. We also enjoyed the activities organised by the crew - the watercolour lessons, the dance lessons, the gym lessons, the trivia sessions and the table-tennis rounds. It was a cruise that was as active as you wanted to make of it. Everything was done in good taste without intruding into the relaxing vibe of the overall cruise. Would we go again? In a heartbeat. We would prefer if Celebrity had shorter cruises around the region though - it is very difficult to get leave from work in the beginning of the work year for such a long period of time. If they had 7-10 day cruises around the region, we would be back multiple times. As it is, we are next booked on a 10-day European cruise in June and a 10-day New Zealand cruise in December, both of which happen in periods of time where it is easier to get vacation time. Celebrity Constellation 9 night Arabian cruise Embarkation was a breeze-just 10 mins. Then we were welcomed onboard with champagne on a red carpet. We felt we were treated like royalty!. Our oceanview room was quiet, comfy & spacious, but the bath cubicle was miniscule. On the first day, they had liquer sampling the entire evening, right from 5pm to 9pm. You could sample all liquers on display. Their special discount offers on alcohol were much better than those at duty free airports. They also had a wristwatch & handbag sale (really cheap, only $40 for 5, mix & match) Every morning, on the way to the buffet breakfast, there were pretty girls waiting to give you a FREE sampler head massage. Yes, every morning! On 9 days, we had 4 grand shows, a movie night, a Beatles tribute band, a singer (Jane), a violinist & a pianist, all best of class! So, every night was taken care of. The 4 shows--Welcome, Land of Fantasy (or fairy tales), Dances of the World & Elyria were 45-50 mins each & truly amazing, easily of Broadway standard. The performers also mingled, posed & danced with us throughout the 9 day cruise. They also performed on the pool deck & in the Reflections lounge, in addition to the 4 main shows. One evening, Celebrity even had a special BELLY DANCE show with Middle east delicacy starters & desserts--kababs, Baklava, the works! The passenger vs crew (in full uniform) pool volleyball game was a blast! Unfortunately, nobody showed up or seemed interested in the enrichment health & fitness lectures & we 2 were the only ones who attended every time. The fitness trainers who spoke on health & detoxification, were both experienced & knowledgeable. The buffet lunch had a lot of variety & was very satisfying. There were 6 diff. flavours of icecream & frozen yoghurt, which kept changing daily! Exotic flavors like cherry, pecan, peach, apricot, passion fruit, dark chocolate, banana, strawberry, etc In the main dining room, the dinner & service was fit for a king. Lobster, jumbo prawns, pink salmon, beef steak, tenderloin, et all. Very satisfying, never had any complaint whatsoever. The desserts were so-so. The cruise itinerary was well planned, with 8 port days--2 Abu Dhabi, 3 Dubai, 2 Muscat & 1 Khasab, so enough time for sightseeing at all ports, (except Dubai, which needs at least 7 days to see it all-- Dubai city tour with abra ride, Bastakiya, Al Fahidi fort, Gold souk, Spice souk, Perfume souk; Desert safari, Dubai mall with aquarium & musical fountain show, Burj Khalifa tallest observatory, Mall of the Emirates & Snow city, Global Village, Atlantis the palm, Jumeirah mosque & beach, Burj al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah, Miracle Gardens, Butterfly park, Dinosaur land, Glow City, etc.) Overall I highly recommend this cruise. We got an amazing deal, just $451 per person for 9 nights in an oceanview cabin with $150 onboard credit per person ($300 onboard credit per cabin) !!! Love & God bless, drsel Read Less

Wonderful cruise, excellent friendly staff, fantastic entertainment , great cruise director in Richard Spacey.. Good food. The staff all remembered your name wherever you went on the ship, always smiling and very very friendly. Entertainment was the best ever, acapella group called We3 were amazing. Jane curry female vocalist and comedian got standing ovation on both evenings. Ju.ian smith, saxophonist from britains got talent was fantastic. Husband loved the hypnotist, but not my thing. And one of the house bands joe and Olivia were just great, bought their cd too. Richard spacey , cruise director was friendly and very very funny. We didn't really enjoy he MDR as we were always sitting in the traffic lanes and felt uncomfortable, nothing to do with quality of food though. We enjoyed the ocean view cafe though, always a good selection and always hot and fresh. The ship is very clean and comfortable, but it does need a refurb soon, nothing to upset you, just the odd scuffs and scratches here and there. Done 22 cruises and this is definaetly in our top 3. Just back from our first Celebrity Cruise onboard the Constellation. We were travelling with our 6 year old son on 11 Night Eastern Mediterranean Cruise. Cannot fault the cruise at all. Everything was above and beyond our expectations. Food was all excellent. Dining room experience wonderful. Staff were all so friendly and remembered us all by name. Fun Factory was amazing our son went everyday even 3 times a day on sea days. Fun Factory staff amazing. They were only a total of 23 children onboard our cruise. The Fun Factory had only 2-8 children in total at each session, which was great for our son who prefers small groups I think that's why he enjoyed it so much alot of one on one attention. We travelled 8-20 September. However I heard that in August there was 250 and 500 children onboard for those cruises. As our cruise was when all UK/USA schools just started back so not many children were onboard so that worked out to our advantage. We are from Australia and currently our Spring school holidays. We had the classic beverage package which was wonderful it was a free perk when we booked so it great for us we didn't see the need to upgrade to the premium package. If anyone has any questions please let me know I would be happy to answer them. I kept all the Fun Factory Daily programs aswell as our Celebrity Dailes. Fantastic cruise. Read Less

This cruise was a family cruise which included 3 generations of 12 people. We chose the Eastern Mediterranean on the celebrity Constellation as we had been to the western Mediterranean previously with the same group. We had a fantastic time on the ship and at all of the ports: Olympia, Santorini, Athens, Ephesus, Malta, and Messina. The ship is great for the Mediterranean. The pools were great, lots of "loungers" when you want to sun and the shows were great. While very clean, the ship needs some TLC. There are multiple places where small amounts of carpet are coming from the floors. I can only expect that Celebrity has plans to take care of this soon. We did all but our port visits on our own, except Ephesus. Given the number of people we were and the age gap, this worked for us. We had some mishaps which will be the stories of the trip, no doubt: pick pocketed in Athens and almost missed the ship in Messina due to missed busses. We also had an opportunity to see an incredible fireworks show through a cruise critics organizer. Beautiful opportunity. We enjoyed the shows very much, as always. Lots of fun and the cruise team did an excellent job varying the options. We chose select dining, but chose to eat consistently with Darko every night. Me was EXCELLENT. He paid attention to our needs and responded to everything we needed and wanted. We had celiac family and he was so careful and informative. DArko should be an up an coming member of this crew. Don't lose him Celebrity. He has a lot of potential. Great people skills. The food was great. I would love to know how they serve so many people so well nightly from a ship!!! To the waiters in the restaurant, we had the same ones every night and we were very fortunate as they were very helpful and kind to the children. If we are ever fortunate enough to go on another cruise Celebrity Constellation will be top of the list even though this was our first cruise.
