we chose the cruise for the itenary and it was a area we wanted to go to but unfortunately we did not enjoy the "MDR" as the menu did not change we spent most of our time in the buffet where there was plenty choice also the entertainment was very poor indeed the main dance/singers only done 4 shows in the 15 day cruise not what we expected at all the house bands well to be honest a pub band would of been better the cruise director (Paul) he does not have a clue how to entertain most of the entertainment he done was game show style or putting round a restaurant and that's meant to be 5 star as for the ship itself we could not fault it very clean indeed the ship staff very friendly but it lacked atmosphere on the pool decks mainly at night the bars were all empty no music or dancing going on and we were not the only passengers to notice this some are celebrity regulars would we go with celebrity again I doubt it unless the rely look at all the areas that need to be looked at Read Less

Sorry as an extremely seasoned cruisers this was the first time sailing with Celebrity and we were very disappointed. The ship was definitely no 5* the cabin was shabby the bed covers needed updating it was shabby, the towels and flannels etc needed throwing out, the entertainment was not great and the service mediocre. Having said that our cabin steward and our waiters were satisfactory. Our over all impression of the company was that they have a policy of harassment towards their guests to get as much money out of you as they possibly can. We succumbed to buying a drink package on board but on days at sea there was hardly anywhere that you could get a drink before late afternoon. You basically had to be up on deck at the pool bar or the other option was the specialist coffee area where you could get very limited alcoholic drinks or fancy coffee. On sea days the coffee area was totally overwhelmed it was hopeless trying to find a seat or get a drink. Even until the last day of the cruise the pressure to buy another cruise or buy a dinner in one of the speciality restaurants it made us cringe with embarrassment. We have never experienced such relentless selling on any other cruise line and how they have a 5* status confounds us so we do not intend to back on a Celebrity Cruise again. Read Less

Family of 4 in 2 ocean view balcony cabins. We have sailed on Connie before . The public areas are very clean and well maintained. The staterooms are showing their age, however very clean. She is booked for a refit later this year. This will put more life into this beautiful ship. The staff are probably the best we have sailed with. The food in MDR was a very high standard as was the buffet. We had a drinks package ( not premium ) which was very good. We had one meal in Quisine, this was very interesting, but we ate far too much food ! Ordering was an experience in its self, but that is the idea of this restaurant. The entertainment crew worked very hard. On board singers and dancers very excellent, would have liked to see more of them. Their afternoon Broadway singing show was as good as any show I have seen. Guest performers were mostly very good. 1- Singapore. Arrived 1 day early. Pre booked a taxi in uk which did not arrive. The taxi rank at the airport is very efficient and much cheaper than we paid in uk. Lovely city , we need to explore more. Just managed the hop on / off bus which was good value. Taxi driver recommended a local restaurant / cafe called chin chin- the food was delicious and cheap- we were the only non local people and they were very happy to serve us. If you just want good food would recommend- but it is like a cafe. 2 - Phuket- ship tendered. Pre booked a tour in uk with Go Phuket. Guide arrived promptly at 10 am as stated. She was lovely and we had a mini bus for 6 which gave us a very interesting tour of the area and included a beautiful meal at a very clean beach front restaurant. Would 100% recommend this company, very good value. 3- Columbo Sri Lanka- very busy town. Pre booked a tour called Tuk Tuk Safari. This was amazing and we felt like royalty - the ladies given flower garlands and a coconut to drink. Also snacks and cold beer provided. We were transported around the city to see the temples and markets. Lunch also provided in a local curry house served on a leaf. I paid £136 for 4 of us and it was a highlight of our trip. 4 Cochin- immigration was very organised and we were off the ship very early. We booked a trip via a company called carnival on a house boat. It took about 1.5 hour to get there. The bus journey was interesting as this is a very busy place. The house boat tour was 2.5 hours with lunch prepared on the boat. It was very tranquil, but maybe a little too long. However very cheap in comparison to the ships tour which arrived and left at the same time. 5- Goa- Our room attendant was from Goa. We wanted a beach day and he recommended Majorda beach. We paid for a taxi at he port. The taxi booking spot is next to the money exchange just off the ship. We paid £30 ( on card ) 45 min drive to beach and the driver waited. It was lovely with shaded sun beds. Free wifi from the bar. Lots of beach sellers who pestered until you bought from them. The clothes however were very nice and cheap. Mumbia - 2 day stay. Booked a trip in uk with Amaze tours. Our guide was brilliant. We were in a private taxi and he took us everywhere the ship trip went to for a fraction of the cost. On day 2 we did the slum tour with the same company, also had a train ride as part of the tour. This was so interesting and we all enjoyed it. Mumbia was mostly very clean, noisy, colourful and very interesting. Muscat- we just walked into the town to the Souk. There was a hop on / off bus which was expensive. The town is clean and looks stunning from the ship. Dubai - Docked at 12. We had a free transfer to the mall on the hop on /off bus from the port but decided to buy a day ticket. It was expensive for 4 . Approx £55 each. The are 3 routes and we only managed 2 in the time we had. This was a shame as Dubia is amazing. I think it would have been better to miss MUscat and have 2 days in Dubia. Will need to return. Abu Dhabi - did not see as we flew home from Dubia so just got a taxi to the airport. 1.5 hours transfer and very reasonable. Read Less

We chose this cruise because of where Connie was taking us, we hadn't been to Colombo, Cochin, Goa, Mumbai, Muscat or Abu Dhabi. (We had been to Phuket and Dubai several times before). After reading many reviews about Connie before, we really didn't know what to expect as there were so many conflicting reviews both good, bad and ugly. So I've decided to write a review on our experience on aboard and Connie in general. Connie herself is in great shape, nice and clean and everything was working on board, with no smells. In regards to activities onboard there were many choose from, but we chose to relax and just take in the sun on sea days and venture out when docked at all the ports. In regards to Shore Excursions we did choose one from the ship, but it turned out terrible so we complained and received a 30% refund. To be fare to the Shore Excursion team it was the tour guide who was terrible not the places we visited. Cabin, WOW we had no idea that it was going to be that BIG, we had an Oceanview Category 4 Stateroom Number 8003 and our cabin attendant was absolutely superb. Dining was easy, we just rocked up and asked to sit with 6 other guests and within a couple of minutes we were seated and every night apart from 2 nights we sat with different guests and the food was great, we tried just about everything they had on the menus, with top service all around. Entertainment on board this cruise was really really good compared to some horror stories we heard, in fact all over the ship the entertainment was good. The Ports, well what can I say they were simply fabulous, Phuket jus simply laid back and just did what we wanted to do that included catching up with friends (using free Wifi of course), Colombo it was a pretty place and would like to go back again and spend more time, Cochin, well we kind of liked it but Goa and Mumbai were much much better and overall we thought India was kind of organised chaos. Muscat was a beautiful city where the mountains reach out and touched the sea and the city and harbour met. Aub Dhabi, did'n really do any thing for us, it looked like another suburb of Abu Dhabi. Now for the best part, on Connie there is this special place called the Martini Bar, we lived there every night of the cruise just meeting the most loverly people you could ever meet from all over the globe and the 4 bar tenders put on the best Martini/Cocktail shows I ever seen, pouring 15 Cocktails in one go, it was simply the best, well done lads. Overall we had a WOW of a time on Connie will be sailing on her again in the very near future. Read Less

After a gruelling but uneventful 13 hour flight to Singapore with BA we walked from Arrivals (not far at all) to the Crowne Plaza, which was obviously WAY out of Singapore centre, Why oh why Celebrity? It was a lovely hotel but we were a 'captive audience' with no choice of eateries etc. and no chance to see the beauty of the city at night. Bad choice Celebrity! The following morning we were transported to the dock as normal. Embarkation was no trouble. It was lovely to be back on the 'Connie' once again! She was just how we remembered her but now a little tired and in need of a facelift perhaps. We love the layout of this class of Celebrity ship. Not too large to get around and sensible sized lounges etc. (Unlike some of the newer ships we've encountered). Due to the early arrival, the cabin was not ready, no biggie. Spent a while in the buffet with friends who had travelled in from another part of the World. The food was up to the standard we have come to expect from Celebrity and there was plenty of choice. Our cabin was on deck eight and the balcony protruded further than many on the ship. This gave us an uninterrupted view along the length of the vessel. Although a decent size with adequate storage, the cabin appeared somewhat smaller than on the likes of Silhouette, Reflection etc. and again showed some signs of age. Brilliant cabin steward! Our first encounter with the main dining room was quite disappointing it has to be said! The food was quite poorly cooked and tasted as if it been stood under a heat lamp for a while. Not a great start. Sadly it never really improved. Although were persevered with the dining room most evenings, and there were a few very good dishes during the cruise, it was certainly below the standard we have become used to with Celebrity and far short of our experience on Independence of the Seas, last June. The dining room staff and waiters were brilliant, no request was 'too much trouble'. As a musician myself I'm naturally quite critical of the standard of entertainers, musicians etc. on a cruise ship. The bands were of a good standard overall and the 'House Band' that backed most of the guest acts were brilliant. BUT as on most ships, the sound in the theatre was quite poor to my ears. It lacked punch and the bass player might as well have not been there as there was SO little bass content in the mix. Come on cruise lines, stop employing sound engineers with a 'theatre' background and get some rock 'n' roll guys in, your audience is changing! We didn't really see much of the other music acts on board so can't really comment. The guest artistes were all really good apart from a so called Elton John tribute who was dreadful! I've seen much better in the local clubs in the UK. Being of a certain age we didn't get involved in any physical activities on board but really enjoyed the daily quizzes on sea days and the port lectures were very informative, if a little over cautious about going-it-alone in ports. Which brings me on to shore excursions. First port of call was Phuket. We made the choice to take a local tour mini bus from the dock side. What a fabulous decision! The vehicle was brand new and had been 'pimped' to a very high standard inside. A great driver who took us to the Big Buddha (breathtaking) and an area where there were a number of temples/mosques and market stalls, fabulous. He then dropped us at The Hard Rock Cafe later. Phuket, one of the highlights of the trip! Colombo was our next port. We took an excursion via the ship. A brilliant local guide took us to a couple of points of interest including the Independence Memorial Hall and the National museum. Not enough time was given to enjoy the museum! We finished the tour with tea on the veranda at the very upmarket Galle Face Hotel, which was an enjoyable experience. Overall, not a brilliant tour as much of it was spent in the bus in traffic. (to be expected in the this part of the World I guess) so wouldn't do it again. My advice, take a local trip off the dockside. Cochin was next, our first real taste of India and that's what we got! The taste of pollution was with us from the time we hit the dock. (not literally) :) Again we foolishly took a trip via the ship. We were first taken to a ramshackle Shiva temple which was closed! A very unpicturesque building, so little point in taking us there. We then drove to Church of St. Francis, Fort Kochi which in its own way was quite beautiful but drab and fairly uninteresting. Some of the folks then walked to see some Chinese fishing nets which were quite a distance, we didn't bother as we'd seen them previously whilst driving. Which is really what the body of the trip consisted of, driving through traffic, it was hideous! We were so pleased to see the ship again! Don't bother doing that excursion. Which brings me on to Goa, our next port. I'm a collector of Hard Rock Cafe/Hotel pins (badges) so we always endeavour to make it to any HRC in the ports visited. In this case it was a HR Hotel in the Saligao district of Goa. As none of the trips offered on the ship went near to the hotel, we (foolishly) decided to take a private excursion offered by Celebrity Cruises at a cost of $800!!!! We gave them our desired points of interest including the Reis Magos fort, which was recommended to us, plus assorted temples etc. We were quite excited about this tour, a private vehicle, a guide plus wonderful points of interest, what could be better? Most of it basically! The bus was old and rickety, the guide arrived late and the fort was closed! What angered us was, there were bus loads of Constellation guests already in the fort when we arrived (although the fort WAS officially closed on that day) but we were NOT allowed in despite our tour being booked on the ship! We were granted a 10% discount off a future tour and a small refund by the tour desk but this really didn't make up for the pretty poor experience sadly. But at least we had lunch at The Hard Rock Hotel and I bought pins and a tee shirt! We didn't know quite what to expect in Mumbai. Having watched various travelogue progs on TV we had preconceived ideas about India I guess. Our guide was fabulous! She was SO interesting and genuine. In keeping with other ports, the traffic and pollution was excessive, to be expected. We were taken to the Gateway to India (obligatory), the Victorian railway station and Ghandi's house plus a few other sights. Altogether an enjoyable day! We were overnight in Mumbai but didn't go ashore the second day. After a couple of days at sea we arrived in Muscat, Oman. The highlight of the cruise!! Pristine is the word that sums up the city. Not a scrap of rubbish or debris on the streets, beautifully kept road-sides, roundabouts and public places. Our guide on the ship-booked excursion was superb and a really lovely man with SO much knowledge about not only his country but the whole of the middle east in general. We were escorted to the most spectacular Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, about half an hours' drive from Muscat centre. You HAVE to see this if you visit Muscat! We then went to the Mutrah souq where one can buy anything from clothing to lamps. An absolutely wonderful and enriching day! Having looked forward to seeing Dubai (and getting to another Hard Rock Cafe) for a long time, it turned out to be quite disappointing! For a start it was cold and I made the big mistake of travelling in to the centre on the top deck of the bus! The bus we were actually taking the tour on was picked up at a terminus outside the Dubai Mall. Chaos reigned there with people trying to jump the queue to get out of the cold wind. After already losing an hour of our day we managed to get on the bus and begin the rather tedious tour of Dubai. SO many road works and building sites. The traffic was hideous (I believe I've used that word before). We didn't get off the bus until we arrived at the WAFI Mall where we needed to get a cab to the Hard Rock cafe which is in the Festival City Mall way out of the centre. The cabs are so well priced! Probably our fault but we didn't enjoy our day in Dubai much as we made little effort to see 'the sites' as such, plus it was very cold. Maybe return someday? Our final destination and point of departure was Abu Dhabi, a day later. As we were there overnight we thought we would be able to take a walk around parts of the city after being dropped off at the hotel. NAH! Once again Celebrity had decided to stick us in the Novotel Al Bustan out near the airport! Why Celebrity?? It was a super hotel though and we were able to get a cab to a nearby mall to eat and do a little last minute shopping, as you do. The downside was, we had to leave the hotel at 4am as we were flying from (you guessed it) Dubai, where we had been a day earlier!! No problems at the airport as we were there before the cleaners had finished their work having taken only an hour and a quarter to drive from Abu Dhabi. A lovely breakfast at Giraffe Cafe, Terminal 1 was very welcome. Such a shame the HRC Dubai Airport is in Terminal 3 so I couldn't get there. Hey Ho. Summing up (please do)! It was a wonderful cruise on the Celebrity Constellation and we enjoyed most of the experiences both on board and on land. We would highly recommend this cruise if you've not been to this wondrous part of the world. So much culture with some spectacular vistas to behold and remember for the rest of your days on the planet. My advice, for what it's worth, ignore most of the excursions offered on board (expensive and not good value generally) and go for a local mini bus and driver/guide found on the dockside in most ports. Ask to see the bus before committing as they vary widely in age and quality and HAGGLE! We (four people) got a full day tour in a brand new bus in Phuket for $150 US. Wonderful memories! Read Less

My wife and I made this cruise to get rest, and this is what we got but we have some comments about the trip The crew and the overall situation was wat we expected for a 4 star cruise but the dining situation was not something for a 4 star cruise ship it look more a standard meal on a ferry for truckdrivers than for people who made a cruise for a lot of money. several times we ask wat is there on ore plate can you give me a magnifying glass almost no vis to get alone mead and a very little complements but overcook and toastless. This is for the ala carte restaurant and the buffet I have eat for 6 days steak so that I have the feeling that there was something in my stomach. A other point of cretic is that every time we want of the ship in a port we need to pay extra for this bus ore the tender something We want to know before we made the trip. This don’t mean that we don’t enjoy or trip in the Mediterranean zee We enjoy the ship, crew and the company of the rest of the passengers. This was our third cruise with Celebrity. It was a disappointment at all levels . It was a big step down from our experience from two years ago with Celebrity Equinox. This was a Mediterranean cruise . It was no entertainment on deck in the evening. It was no fitness or other outdoor activities like the previous Celebrity cruise. It was a lack of service and amenities. It was also a big disappointment in food quality and diversity . Food that we enjoyed at the buffet in the past now we had to go to special restaurants and pay extra. My husband and I had classic beverage packege but to get your cappuccino you had to go to the 5 th floor from 10th floor in order to get it . It was no cappuccino machine at any outdoor bars and any other indoor bars except the 5 th floor. People who catered to us were great but not to many of them ... Many times I had to clean my table and waiters were no where to be found. Overall it was not a good experience Read Less

We did this cruise because of the ports .. great ports .. but as soon as you go on board you are offered a glass of champagne but while you may be drinking your champagne you are hounded to buy packages .... drink packages .... specialty dining packages .... I did not buy packages because they were very over priced we did go to 2 dining rooms and value for money they were very overpriced .... example glass of red wine was no more than 2cm of red wine in a water glass cost $10.00 .... but the worst is yet to come .... we did 2 cruises .... back to back .... Singapore to Abu Dhabi and then Abu Dhabi to Rome .... the last show in the theatre on the first part of the cruise was the first show in the theatre on the second part of the cruise .... this we believe was all about saving money on entertainment .... and there is lots more .... the buffet on the second part of the cruise where we had 5 days at sea ran out of tomatoes .... banana,s .... and later in the cruise potatoes .... this made the salads look very bleak .... But the worst experience was there safety drill ... there a lot of elderly passengers on cruises and you are asked to go into dining area,s for a period of 40-45 minutes where more than half the passengers are asked to stand .... I am 73 years old and I cannot stand for 45 minutes so I sat on the stairs outside the dining room I was asked to go in the room and I refused on the second leg of the cruise I learnt against the wall at the opening on the other side was a gentleman with a walking stick and he was very distressed I asked one of the staff if they could get him a chair and I was completely ignored .... there facility for safety drill is a shameless and very very unprofessional .... I and many other passengers believe that are putting profits ahead of the comfort and safety of passengers The above points I discussed with customer relations manager Keith Wheelan Read Less

The ports of call, length of travel (15days) and ship amenities were the reason we choose this cruise. We sailed out of Abu Dhabi and will end our cruise in Singapore. Pros: the staff is extremely polite, friendly and helpful, most seems genuinely happy to be part of the celebrity family. Room size along with veranda is adequate- of course, always love a larger room if possible. Shore excursions were well organized. Cons: rooms and entire ship is in desperate need of updating, the ship is worn and quite sad. Our room furnishing were similar to a budget motel quality. Shore excursions thruthe ship were quite expensive and we found them to be a waste of time, we wished we had stayed on shop or hired a private driver (which we did in Mumbai). Food in the main dining room is standard, nothing very desirable, we feel as if we’re in a school cafeteria competing with aggressive students! The speciality restaurant experience is quite nice but more money (we did 4 nights). We drink very little alcohol beverages so we opted this cruise to skip the beverage package- we were harassed to the point of aggression the first three days on board to purchase drink packages even after explaining that we don’t drink alcoholic beverages and very little soft drinks (doesn’t make sense to buy drink packages when we are off the ship more then half the time). Although, it is quite annoying paying for water, I would rather crease the cost of cruise then be nickel and dimed over water, etc. Ice machines are always broken, empty or shut down which is unfortunate as temps are very high. Did not appreciate several days being exposed to lacquer paint during poolside time- why do they not paint while we are in shore excursions or early morning?? This ship did not have as many dining choices as others do. Read Less

Our waiters Rohan and Alfred looked after us extremely well in the San Marco Restaurant, we would like to highlight their excellent service. We would do this cruise again as there was so much to see and do. There were excellent shows in the theatre, from tributes to Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Phil Collins to the brilliant show that the cruise dancers out on for us. I particularly enjoyed the martini bar! An overall fantastic experience. We did lots of city tours which were very educational especially with all of the different religions and cultures, but very busy; next time we would do the more relaxed tours of the beaches and scenery. The weather was extremely hot and we found our welcome back to the ship after our tours the 'best feeling in the world' with iced towels, fresh cold water and welcoming smiles from the staff. Chance to visit cities in UAE,Oman,India,Sri Lanka and Singapore all within a 17 day cruise. Also took a 2 day hotel add on in Abu Dhabi at the start of the holiday and a similar stay in Singapore at the end. The cruise lived up to all expectations with food, service and entertainment of a very high standard. For peace of mind we booked all our shore excursions through Celebrity and enjoyed them all immensely.Highlights were a trip on the Viceroy train in Columbo and the Mumbai tour where our guide,a lovely lady of a certain age, insisted on still calling the city Bombay! Also not to be missed is a visit to the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, although this was undertaken during our pre cruise city stay. Entertainment was of a high standard, particularly in the theatre on the 3 "evening chic"nights where some spectacular trapeze work was performed by two talented aerial artistes. The performances of the regular dance troupe in their spectacular costumes were also a delight. We booked a sky suite which gave us access to the excellent facilities food and service available in the Luminae restaurant and Michael's lounge. This booking also came with personal embarkation and disembarkation services which were much appreciated. We chose the cruise because we were interested in going to Vietnam. We had reservations about going on an American ship and it did have some of the problems we anticipated. The worst was the incredibly high price of drinks etc. £10 for a pint of beer £40 for. A reasonable bottle of. Wine. The entertainment was excellent and food average. The Cabins were adequate with. A good shower. The worst problem we found was lack of quiet space round the pool and generally every venue was noisy. The lectures we had were good but poorly attended. On other cruises we have had free shuttle buses to the nearest town here we were expected to find our own or pay exhorbitant ships excursion prices. Basically if you want lots of loud music and can afford the drinks and enjoy films under the stars we prefer just the stars. It’s probably for you. Read Less

Just returned from the Arabian Sea Adventure on Celebrity Constellation. Have to say we were a bit worried by all the reviews after we had booked and many said the ship was tired and well worn. Well, I do not know which part they were looking at, but we found it to be wonderful everywhere. The beautiful coordinated furniture, comfy chairs and multiple lounge areas were superb. (so often there is no where to sit on a cruise ship and coffee shops etc are so full you end up back in your cabin!) We would recommend Celebrity to anyone who wants a truly wonderful ship; fantastic staff; superb food and great staterooms to book with Celebrity. We have not been on other ships in the Celebrity fleet, but will certainly have Celebrity on the top of our future cruise company list before booking elsewhere. (NB: We are not first timers - we have cruised with many other companies and Celebrity certainly comes top with us). The food was exceptional in every area. The Buffet food was great with variety and really good quality food. This was unfortunately marred by seeing other guests who ate wearing just a vest - dreadful; the other restaurants were stunning and it was lovely to have the 'chique' nights too. As a Sky Suite passenger, we were fortunate enough to eat in Lumiere most of the time, which was exceptional in every detail. Plus having Michaels lounge as a little hideaway was truly brilliant. Nadia and her team really made every day a wonderful experience. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the intinery to India because if we had a choice we would go for a larger ship. We did a repo cruise three weeks earlier on the same ship and the experience on the ship was very different on this cruise. There were approximately 1,200 English on the ship which we are not used to and it really changed the atmosphere. There were also a large number of children and teenagers which again we are not used to. It was our first Christmas and New Years cruise and we don’t think that we’ll be doing another. We usually cruise November and up to mid December, less large family groups and children. Ship life was as you would expect for Celebrity. We had a Sky Suite on deck 6 and they are beginning to show their age. Luminae was great as usual and still remains one of the best benefits for us as well as Michael’s and the benefits of the concierge there which if you use them are a great added bonus, you just have to remember to use them. Due to high volumes of guests using the pool areas and their insistence on the saving of chairs the pool butlers seemed on a few occasions to lose control and it all looked very messy and a type of “free for all”. We did all our excursions privately saving about half on the ship prices. Best value was in Mumbai when we contacted the concierge at the Taj Hotel to arrange pickup at the port to the hotel for lunch and then four hours sightseeing with guide and then back to port. Excluding lunch this was €110, car was a new Mercedes with a uniformed chauffeur. Read Less

We chose this cruise for its itinerary, which ended with the F1 . The check in was chaotic, but once on-board that was soon forgotten. Our cabin was at the rear of the ship with a large balcony, this was ideal for our cruising through the Suez canal, offering panoramic views. My personal opinion is that some excursions were over priced but I know others on-board were happy with them. Entertainment was good and varied. No problems with the sunbed but think that was more down to the demographics of passengers. We enjoyed the dining in the main dining room and requested the same location every night as we had an amazing waiter. On previous Celebrity cruises we've struggled to find somewhere to sit at Cafe Al Balcio, this time we never had a problem and enjoyed a coffee while watching the world go by. Would highly recommend this itinerary. Read Less

The stateroom was chosen on our previous cruise using Celebrity future cruise . We were meticulous in choosing the cabin. It was A1 Aqua. 1124 . The constellation dry docked in March 2017 and added a movie theatre on deck twelve right above this stateroom. Which was NOT shown on the deck plans when we booked . The noise from the movie theatre is incesant you cannot sit on your balcony without hearing the dialog, sound effects and music The movies only stop for around thirty minutes between showings. This goes on until midnight. It stopped us using the balcony for the duration of the cruise . Otherwise the cruise was magnificent and up to celebrity’s usual standards. Staff were super , food in Blu was fabulous and the ship had a good friendly atmosphere . If you like to sit in your balcony without noise this is NOT the cabin for you. Read Less

This was the second time that I was on this ship. First time was great (the year before). This time it was terrible. It all started when boarding. I had a couple of bottles of wine in my suitcase which you are allowed and they held on to it in security. I was not informed and had to go get it myself. The food in the café was terrible. People were saving the pea soup was yesterdays guacamole. Food was cold except for the Jello with was warm and runny. Amazing difference a year makes. Entertainment was exactly the same shows from the crew. In the cabin you could here water running through the pipes until 2 a.m.. The plumbing stopped working a couple of times. A pipe burst 2 down from us and flooded much of the area with hot water. I was not kept informed of what was happening and the officers did not answer any questions. All cruise long, we had to deal with wet floors, wiring hanging down, and equipment all over the place. They worked on this problem day and night so sleep never happened. Even an officer got made at me because I was complaining to other passengers but still did nothing. The only thing I heard from the ship is when one of the crew made a joke about it around the pool. Even at one port you had to pay to get off the ship and be transferred to town even though there was a spot at the dock for free transfers to town in which other cruise lines used including Royal Caribbean This was my tenth cruise (fourth with Celebrity) and that is where it ends Read Less

Enjoyable experience from start to finish! The itinerary was the biggest factor in selecting this ship. Great ports of call. Entertainment was excellent! Onboard activities were fun and engaging. Port & shore excursions were great! The ship was smaller than Solstice class ships we had taken before but we adjusted to the layout of the Ocean Cafe and dining room seating. We prefer separate food stations. All cruise staff were attentive and very friendly. Ship is a bit old and in need of an update. Cabin needs more storage and bathroom shows signs of age. The deck furniture was old and showed signs of wear and tear. Furnishings are dated and too dark. The lounges were dim and quite small. Overall, we had a great time and have beautiful memories. We took many pictures at the various ports and on the excursions. Our next Med. cruise is planned on the Eclipse. Read Less

Husband had a big birthday. Liked the sound of all the stops. Booked an aqua class cabin and very pleased with it. Comfortable bed and Martin kept it very clean and organised. We had use of Blu restaurant which was lovely food and service excellent. Staff in Blu really looked after us. We went to the Tuscan restaurant and so good we went again. Also went to Qsine but not that impressed. Food not that interesting and dessert made me feel sick! We had a drinks package which worked well for us although we are not big drinkers. Pina coladas round the pool very nice though! Pools very good but a little cold at times. Indoor pool lovely and warm like a bath! Jacuzzis warm and restful! Everything worked like clockwork though but it was a very early start on coming home day had to be up at 5 in the morning for 7 pick up. Would we go again YESdefinitely had the most fantastic and memorable holiday Read Less

Travelled with 2 other couples. This cruise has been on our bucket lists and we finally were able to take this cruise. We did stay in Venice for 3 days before boarding the Constellation. Very impressed. To start, our room 8003 was amazing. An Oceanview at the front of the ship was huge. No balcony, but the extra space made up for that. Could have fit another queen bed in there and still have room to move. I have a little bit of mobile issues and stayed around the ship one day instead of doing shore excursions. Our room Stewart checked with me a few times that day when he saw me to make sure all was well, and asked if he could do or help with anything. ( Charlie was his name) all the staff we found to be so kind and fun loving. Very polite and always smiling. The food was excellent. We ate at the spa, the buffet, the dining room, the bistro, and the Tuscan grill. The only complaint we had was there was too much food.the evening shows were great..comedians, music, bands, and the silent disco is a hoot. The main reasons we took this cruise, was the cruise line and the ports. We did do our own private excursions. The ship is not overly big. I found it quite comfortable with my mobility issues. I did not use my cane at all. The age group on the ship was also great..averaged 35 and up. Not too many children. Saw maybe 8 or 10. Even the passengers were friendly with one another. We decided to book on the Silhouette next November. Love this cruise line Read Less

Here is my review of the August 28th 10 day cruise to Greece and the Greek Islands. The cruise left from the Veice cruise port. Check in was fast; I was on the ship in 15 minutes. I had an inside cabin that was located at the far end of the front of the ship. Disadvantage was walking to the main dinning room located at the back of the ship. Afte 13 RCCL cruises this was my first time on Celebrity. The ship was an older model but still was well maintained. It had lots of wood touches and updated bars and service areas. We left Venice on the first day for a day at sea. Everyone settled in for a easy day to explore the ship. The ship has three pools; one being the covered solarium with the thesso type pool. The pools were next crowded. There were very few children on board because being a 10 day cruise and the ship had very little to offer children. Off to dinner at 8:45 the first night. My tablemates included two couples from the UK, a pair of ladies from Canada and a couple from Houston, Texas. Being a solo cruiser I felt I would be the outsider. The other couples welcomed me that first night and turns out to have been a great table for conversation. The table service left something to be desired with very slow service all the time of the cruise. We would get our desert at around 10:30 and it left little time to finish and catch the 10:30 show in the main theater. I saw 4 out of the 9 shows this cruise. Mostly singer and dancers. The one great show was a gentleman from the UK that played the saxaphone that was amazing. Because of the the diners finishing late the theater was about half empty every night. First port of call was Olympia, Greece; the site of the first olympics. The site had a museum and an outdoor area. Cost for the site was 12 euros. The town within walking distance of the ruins was small but it did have free WiFi. Next port of call was Santorini. The island was amazing but we had very litle time to really enjoy all it offers. I took a ships excursion that brought you to the top of the volcano to the town of Oia. Because of the number of ships in port the town which is one of the picture postcard places in the Greek islands was very crowded. The small winding streets were packed with tourists. I had lunch at one of themany restaurants that was overpriced but still worth the view. The excursion took us again by bus to a Greek winery for some samples and cheese. Last stop was the town of Fira for the cable car ride down to the ship. There was a long line for getting on the cabke car but considering the views and the town itself it was worth the wait. Some chose to walk the 600 steps down. Our next port was an overnight in Athens. Two days gave everyone to go into the city. I opted for the HoponHopoff bus from the port city of Piraeus. For 20 euros fortwo days it was worth the money. Athens is a very large city with the old and the new all packed into a very small area. The parthenon was my first stop but the crowds prevented me from waiting for a ticket to go to the top. I had lunch in the area of Monastiraki a beautiful section of Athens with outdoor cafes and flea market stands. Back on the bus I headed back to the ship. Second day in Athens I opted to stay on the ship. Next port was Mykonos. It has the look of what ervyone expects a greek island should look like. White and blue small homes and churches dotted the coastline. Again WiFi was available in the local restaurants for free. Next port was Corfu. Being a very large island with the main city of Corfutown; the island had a very different look than the two previous stops. The narrow streets and lots of shops made it iteresting people watching. I had lunch at an outdoor cafe that had the best moussaka dish I have ever had there. If you eat there it is called Aegli; claims to be the oldest restaurant in Corfu. Back on the ship for the final day at sea before returning to Venice I had a chance to photograph the interior of the ship. The ship is beautiful with the old style wood and classic looking decor. I was disapointed in the entertainment available compared to the RCCL Oasis class ships but the cruise director reminded me of how old the ship was and does not have the ability of do all the things an Oasis class ship can do. Ther was no piano bar to sit around; one thing I have enjoyed on RCCL ships. The entertainment consisted of soft rock bands playing in various locations around the ship, trivia games and other cruiser participation games. One thing Celebrity does is have guest speakers come on board. One gentleman gave three talks on the history of Greece and the islands. The second gentleman Ed Buckbee spoke three times on the history of NASA. Ed was around for all of the maned space shots from the Mercury to the Space Shuttles. As a big fan of the space program I had a chance to have breakfast with Ed. He was an amazing speaker telling us all the things about the original seven astronauts that most people never have known. If you are looking for agreat way of visiting Greece and the Greek islands this cruise is for you. The is a lot of walking in the ports and sometimes the cobblestone and marble walkways can be very slippery. Best not to wear flip flops off the ship. Read Less

We chose this ship and date due to it's ports as some of us hadn't been to them. The Constellation was magnificent in it's new décor. Our steward Neil was exceptional, his charm, and efficiency were above board. The dining room staff, Alexander and Alexandre were incredible. Details they remembered, the friendliness and kindness were fantastic. We enjoyed our breakfast in our cabin which the service was great. One of the best features (there were many) the ice cold washcloths returning to the ship. We had a fabulous experience by being invited to the helicopter pad to view our entrance into Venice, this was extraordinary. Our Mater D was very kind, the only annoying problem was the loud music selection, you couldn't hear your friends right across our small table. Qsine was awesome, very unique in presentation, food fantastic...desert menu fun. all in all this was a great experience and Celebrity ranks as #1 to us. Read Less

We chose this cruise mainly for the destinations, secondly for the dates, thirdly for the duration. We cannot fault the service given throughout the cruise from all the staff we encountered, waiters, cabin staff, bar staff were all a joy to speak to, they couldn't be more helpful, and in many cases they were funny and amusing, a great credit to the ship and the cruise company they work for. The entertainment was not to be missed, it was brilliant, the resident ships entertainers were producing productions close to West end standards, the individual guest entertainers were also excellent, they had us in stitches. Embarkation and disembarking procedures couldn't be faulted in both cases. The ship as a whole is in good condition, a little tired here and there but not worth making a statement about. Cleanliness throughout couldn't be faulted, food exceeded all expectations, nothing was too much trouble for any of the waiters. Now the bad bits for us, from the moment we stepped on board we were attacked with offers for drink packages, it was hard sell! We are not teetotallers but just occasional drinkers, the odd glass of wine or beer in the evening even a glass of spirit if it took our fancy. The cheapest package for drinks per person worked out at 45 dollars plus 18% service charge per day, over the 10 day period that would have been 531 dollars per person, equating to approximately £415 each or £830 per couple. We didn’t feel that was an option we wanted to follow, we decided to buy drinks as and when desired, just a few examples a small baileys would come to 10 dollars (£7.81) each and a small wine approx $8.5 (£6.64) both of these items had 18% service charge added additionally, now making the bailey’s £9.22 and the wine £7.83. Having cruised with Thompson and P&O we have always found that the drinks on both these cruise lines were very reasonably priced, maybe this factor should be considered when booking another cruise? Our next little gripe is the excursion prices, unfortunately this is not indigenous to Celebrity cruises, as everyone knows this is widespread throughout the cruising industry, maybe if the trips were more reasonable more people would use them and thus probably make more profit for the cruise companies in the long run, on the other hand maybe the cruise companies are themselves being ripped off by the tour excursion operators and they should themselves make a stand to reduce prices, who knows, but what is known is that the majority of people can afford the cruises but then adding on the excursions takes it to another level. we selected the best of shri lanka and asia as we had never been to any of the ports of call. from that perspective really good but the ship was not up to usual celebrity standards. very tired and in need of refit which is scheduled for early May. the cruise line did not make us aware and the cruise was at full price with no discounts for condition. the food was only average and the entertainment well below what we have enjoyed on previous Celebrity cruises. the tours were all expensive and not well described - too many visits to jewel stores but with no time to look around even if you wanted to buy (45 mins). these were key stops even though we expected to visit temples, mosques and more interesting places. would not recommend to any one else and suggest careful check with cruise line before committing to a vacation Read Less
