This was a total nightmare definitely not family oriented! Cabin was not cleaned on appointed time. Naked women in main pool area with carnival photographer taking photographs. Faster to fun DOES NOT work on this ship!(you will not be redunded) guest services very very rude. Server (dinner time) laughed and made fun of my husband because he refused alcoholic drinks( recovering alcoholic). Called carnival customer service when we got off the boat was told I would have a return call in 24-48 hours NEVER recieved this call. So much wrong happened on this cruise I just cant list it all. This is definitely the last time cruising with carnival. Down to the stupid animal towels that we never recieved on our beds each day. Could not access smoking area due to a family reunion was priority up on smoking deck. Security allowed drug use on decks. Just a horrible experience every day! Read Less

This is our fourth Carnival cruise and second time with our teenagers. The ship seemed very well maintained and clean. It clearly showed how hard working staff they have on board to keep the ship clean and enjoyable. My husband and I were also impressed at how thorough the staff was in cleaning the upper pool deck area each and every night. The extent of the staff draining the pool water nightly and literally scrubbing the entire pool and pool area was so good to see. We felt very welcome and most all staff was always smiling and very helpful. Our cabin was very clean and I always looked forward to coming back in the evening to a new towel animal lol. I cannot say enough about our stateroom stewardess Vasy and we hope this compliment makes it to her. She was very welcoming and thorough. She made us feel very comfortable and went out of her way to accommodate us and our teens which stayed in a seperate cabin. Dinner was amazing. There were many choices each night from your appetizer to the main dish followed by dessert. Another shout out to our service team in the dining room. Team Headwaiter Aldie, team waiter John and assistant team waitress Pascual. They were all so polite and thorough. We cannot say enough about them and again hope they see this and deserve a high five for all their hard work and pleasing the customers. My husband Tony and my son Nick and daughter Marissa as well as myself Bobbie Jo thank them all for a wonderful and memorable experience aboard Carnival Elation!!!! Read Less

Family Trip the best part was being with family everything else from dining experience to the rooms say I want cruise with Carvinal again. The buffet was ok when you got to the grill service the young lady working it was terrible didn't listen to how you wanted sandwich made. Then in dinning steak was hard as a brick. The chicken was so dry the server was so slow and no one would help her table. Watching people order after us and food before ours. The bed was a twin push together and slept terribly. We were told by guests service that it would be taken care of. All they did was add another comforter to the bed which made it hot to sleep. The only thing that was positive about this was the room attendants were trying there best to accommodate us. There were a couple of attendants that stood out our server tried her best her name was Puii and our room attendants was I Ketut he was OUTSTANDING. Read Less

This was perfect for our two first time cruisers. Not too big, not too long and ports that have lots to choose from. Same great Carnival food, service and dance parties as the big ships. Benefits of a smaller ship and carnival include fastest and friendliest dinner service at sea. Also way easier to get on and off of than a mega ship. It was a younger, rowdier crowd than we’re used to seeing on cruise ships out of Florida. Older ship with no rock climbing walls or ropes course and only one pool. But maintained very well. It works for a short cruise with one sea day. I wouldn’t want a longer cruise with more sea days on this ship. Drinks were way more expensive than any cruise we’ve ever been on. You need to have planned excursions tours or daypasses in Bahamas. We always go to Atlantis in Nassau. We got a day pass for viva Wyndham fortuna in Freeport. Was really great day. Kayaking some snorkeling pools great beach buffets snack bars and drinks included. They have a scuba shop but we did not use it. Read Less

Cruise director was very good. Food on lido was great. Guys burgers were really, really great! Dining room food was good but never hot. After asking to make hotter, they handled it. Panda, our server was super - best of any cruise we’ve been on. Always ask for her. Only bad staff were bartenders at casino bar. Slow with attitudes! Ports of call embarkation / debarkation was fast and easy. Big downer was leaving when we returned to Jacksonville. Had to be Out of our cabin by 8:30. Our deck wasn’t called till 10 and then another 1/2 hour before we were off of the ship. We got a porter which cut out 45 minutes in line for immigration. They definitely need some help there! Great to be with an older girls cruise for the long weekend. Friendly service. Food so-so and always only mildly warmed in dining room. Bread very hard. As for entertainment, the dance shows were LOUD electric music with flashing lights. Singers going to the top of voice range which means I had to put hands over ears. Nice costumes and movement around stage. Avoid Kirk as a comedian. Saying the best part for last was the newly appointed cruise director——Chris. So full of life! Makes everything he does so fun Whether it is Harry Potter trivia or atrium music. Awesome!!!! This was his first cruise director position and he was ready for it. He had an accessory for each event he was doing. He was entertaining just to talk to. Boring destinations but only ones if leaving from Jacksonville. Parking easy, Embarked within 30 minutes. Could have been sooner if Elation could figure how to disembark. Total headache. Easy walkoff took until 10:00. Poor ports, mediocre food, and terrible disembark gives it a three. We are frequent cruises and lower our expectations when necessary. The ship itself was well maintained and the food was good. Guys burgers were awesome! Room service was also very good and had many free options and the pay options were not pricey. Our room location was horrible. We were right above the metal machine shop where very loud grinding, hammering of metal and clinking continues from 7:30 am until after supper every day. I was really sick with a head cold and could not rest even with ear plugs. They offered us 150 credit at the ships shops. We got badly sunburned and the ships shop did not have any aloe or ointments to help. The cabin steward accidentally threw out a retainer that was on the bathroom shelf. It will be 500 to replace it. We are in our forties and really appreciate our afternoon rests and peace and quiet but there was none in our room. Read Less

This cruise was so needed after a hard 6 months with my step dad beating cancer, & some other stuff leaving him in a wheelchair. This was a huge family ordeal with 14 of us needing some serious R&R & Carnival Elation did not disappoint. We've cruised together years before, but now some of us had children & significant others. The things I was super impressed with are: -Embarkation & Debarkation were pretty painless due to faster to the fun. I would absolutely add this on if you are considering it. -The staff was super nice. Jordan is pure sunshine, he would greet you by name at the Tiffany's buffet, & ask how you were, what your plans are for the day, & his smile is super contagious. Seriously if you don't smile after interacting with him, you should take a look at how you are living your life. -Our steward Jose was awesome as well. He kept our room super clean, & there was a towel pet waiting each evening for our daughter. -We had a room on the Empress level with a private balcony. This was fantastic! We had a king size bed, along with a pull out for my daughter. I know cruise ship rooms are small, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't knock my head on her bed a few times due to it pulling out right over our bed. -Half Moon Cay is magical. My husband was wary about getting off the boat onto the island, not having control on when we could come back, but he is so glad he came. The smaller boats ferry back & fourth all day & we were able to grab one to go back straight away. The behind the scenes work that goes into preparing all of us lunch on that island should be fully recognized. Impressive operation & it seems so smooth! We didn't go on any excursions, we were happy to just relax on the beach. There were chairs for my step dad to use to go out onto the ocean for free! This was so wonderful! -Nassau is always fun & bustling. I've been there before & done some excursions so we opted just to shop & walk around this time. It was a lot of fun. -The buffet was awesome. The casino was awesome, the fun shops, & other places to buy jewelry & souvenirs are great as well. -The 80's show & Divas were fantastic. -The professional photos we got were stunning, we went home with the canvas package. I was however, not impressed that in order to get digital copies - you are forced to also purchase the 8x10s. Things I feel could've been improved upon: -My daughter, niece & nephew's were not impressed. They never really did what the itinerary said they had planned. They wanted to hang with us instead, which of course we wanted to spend some quality time with them but my husband & I were wanting a bit of an "adult reprieve" & having a kid not stoked about the kid area was kinda disappointing. -The food at the dinners. Most of it was really good, but getting through all of the courses took over 2 hours. We were scheduled for the 8:25 dinners so we had to go directly to any shows we wanted to see, nearly missing them. The one steak I ordered had a huge tendon going through the whole thing which didn't leave me able to eat but a few bites. We had a blast. This was my husband & daughter's first cruise, & though my husband wasn't super excited about being on a moving boat (he was seasick the last day due to a rocky ride back to Jacksonville) they both would love to go back. I hope to go again next year. Read Less

Carnival Elation Sailing out of Jacksonville. We were 3 couples with suites V 2,4,6 all together. We all had junior suites and are members of their VIFP club (frequent cruisers) which allows priority boarding. The embarkation process was a breeze. We were allowed access to our cabins to drop our stuff. They were not quite ready. The jr suite was quite nice. King bed, sofa/twin bed, small table and a chair. Nice size bathroom with shower. Plenty of storage. We selected anytime dinning and that is were the trouble started. When we showed up at 6:30 and were given a beeper and told it would be 20 to 30 minutes. Got seated at 7 and waited 1 hour for our main course. The meal was mediocre. We went to the hostess and requested the other dining room with a set 6:00 seating. She took our information and said they would let us know the next day. They were able to accommodate the 6 o'clock seating. The rest of our dining experience was much better. Next, we retired to our suite to turn in for the night and discover that the gym is above our suites. Tread mills directly above with pounding runners like you would not believe. Going on until 11:30. The gym is supposed to close at 10. The next morning it started at 6AM. Called guest services and they would “look into it”. The next two days was the same experience with calls to guest services. On the 3rd day they said they had sent an email to the gym manager but didn't hear back. They could not move us as they had no available comparable suites. With one day left they offered us an on-board credit which we could only use at the gift shop. Not acceptable. Finally, they offered a credit to our sign & sail card. We have never been on a cruise where there were so many extra charges for so many “Premium” room service and dinner menu items. No one told us when we booked that the Bubbles and Liquor cards would not work at your private island Half Moon Cay. Entertainment was mediocre. At any one time 1 or two of the elevators would be out of order. One of the atrium elevators was out of order for the whole trip. The other one was sporadically available. Public rest rooms around the ship were out of order at times. The casino was unbearable. We went in the first night and were overcome with smoke. Everyone was smoking all over the place. Very poor ventilation. We reeked of smoke after only about 10 minutes in the place. Never went back. Even walking down the promenade next to the casino was awful. The service folks were exceptional. Room steward Nomer and his team could not have been more attentive. The wait staff in the set time dining room were excellent. Kanda, Wayan and rest of the team on table 332 were exceptional! Not so much in the open seating dining room. Plenty of food options for everyone. Guy’s Burger hut was great! Read Less

We chose this cruise because it was a good deal for our family of five and were able to get a connecting room for our kids to be beside of us. This was my wife and I's third cruise and our children's first and our first on Carnival. The ship was ok, but not great. One turn off when we got on the ship was the fact that the life boats are located at deck 11 where you would normally want to have a full view of the ocean while seated on deck chairs. We were also kind of disappointed with the atrium stage having a bar right in front of it so it kind of took away from the overall look. The entertainment we saw for the shows was terrible. First of all, the main show lounge was very small and if you were trying to get there after a late dining time you were out of luck in getting a seat, but when we heard the singers, we didn't need a seat after all. The singers were awful and the show itself was terrible. I think this ship got the rejects from either Carnival's bigger ships or the rejects from Royal. The cruise director wasn't very good either so I think that may have contributed to the poor entertainment. We never went to another show after we left the first night. Getting on the ship in Jacksonville, FL was great, but getting off was another story. It was very confusing to get info about the tenders to go to Half Moon Cay. You had to get tickets and wait for your number to be called, but did not give an approximate time of when you would be called. Getting off at Jax was even more confusing. Not even the cruise director was clear on the instructions. "Go wait here and then wait for your deck to be called, then go here and go up to go down". Most of the crew didn't even know what to do. If you ever take this ship, it would be easier to just let them take your luggage out for you and wait for your tag number to be called. Food was ok, but nothing to really brag about and long lines for breakfast buffet. Read Less

Took my kids and grandkids on first cruise for Christmas. Ship needs to be retired! Engine(s) or motor went out more than once. Crew was clearly overworked, tired and underpaid. Food and food choices not as good. Kids waterpark operational last day only. Smell of sewage in hallway. Crew not ready for things like safety meeting. Nickled and dimed to death. Wifi is horrible even when you get best package that cost arm and leg. This ship was unable to handle the extreme rough seas. Stabilizers and engines went out as we approached Princess Cays and again on the way back to Jacksonville. Crew barely understood English. The FREE beach in Freeport cost us almost 200.00 when we believed it was a free shuttle...it was a taxi plus 5.75 each to get on the beach! Princess Cays was worthwhile but the only shore experience my family was able to enjoy. No more Carnival for us! Read Less

This year instead of gifts, we decided to take a family vacation. We did the 5 night Bahamas cruise out of Jacksonville, FL. I added the Faster to the Fun to our trip and it was worth the money. We never waited in very long lines to embark or disembark compared to other cruisers that did not have the service. It’s worth it...buy it! Carnival Elation was recently renovated and I was pleased with the ship. For a 20 year old ship, they did a great job updating it. Our cabin was G22 which is on Deck 14 by the putt putt course. It is an interior cabin with two twins converted to a king bed and a sofa bed for our 11 year old son. There were plenty of outlets in the room and USB plugs. We brought an extension cord but did not need it. The walls are not metal but the mirror is so we used magnets to decorate our mirror with garland and small Christmas stockings. I used a 3M hook to hang a Christmas decoration on our door. There is a clothes line in the bathroom that you can pull out to hang wet bathing suits. Our steward was wonderful, the towel animals each night were a fun surprise, and our room was comfortable. I left her a thank you with $2 each day on our bed and then gave her a little stocking on Christmas Day with $10 and a chocolate Santa. We loved dinner each night, skip the fried chicken the night they have it, it is dry. But definetly always get dessert. The chocolate lava cake, creme brûlée, and Bitter and Blanc, are worth the calories. Our waiters were fun and got our son up dancing each night. Do go to Sea Day Brunch, loved the steak and eggs and the eggs Benedict. My son wanted to eat Guys burgers and fries for lunch as much as possible. We had the Cheers drink package. My husband and I drank lattes, beer, milkshakes, mixed drinks, mimosas, cokes, and any thing we wanted any time. Once home, I did the math and we would have saved $200 by just buying drinks as we went instead of paying $600+ for the Cheers package. We will not get it again. We did the Sting Ray excursion at Half Moon Cay, our son loved it and for the price it was fun. In Nassau, we walked to Pirates Museum (worth it), John Watlings Rum (not much to it except to drink) Tiki Hut on the beach (cocunut experience is $6 and our son was thrilled) and did a little shopping. We ate on the ship that day since it was free and Nassau prices were too high. ($50 for 6 shrimp on a skewer and two beers.)We did not buy shirts in Nassau but waited until the last sea day and bought them on the ship. 2 for $20 that are much better quality than they sold in Nassau. The kids club was the most disappointing thing, it’s basically a room of babysitting with loud music, video games constantly and movies. Our son preferred the water slides and pool time so we didn’t leave him at Camp Ocean at all. We did bingo and the Christmas show, enjoyed both. I played trivia couple of times and enjoyed it. Christmas Day they had build a bear workshop and tons of kids of all ages bought a Bear. Our son got the stuffed penguin with a carnival shirt, swim trunks, and flip flops ($50 total) Not very impressed with the Fun Crew That leads a lot of the activities, they seemed bored and annoyed with questions. So I gave the trip a 4 due to that and the kids activities. But the question is did we like it so much we will go again...yes. I just booked the Turks and Caicos cruise on the same ship this summer 2019. We can’t wait to cruise on Elation again. We are familiar with the layout now and can find things easily. We will try other ships in the future but it happened that this ship leaves ports that are within driving distance for us. Our family has the cruise bug now! Read Less

Carnival always provides an exciting and adventurous cruise. This was our 23rd with them, and we took along 20 other friends and family. We chose this ship as it was only 5 hours from home. Also, the ship was small enough for 1st timers to get around easy. It is big enough as well to get away from everyone for some private time. Half Moon Cay is also one of our favorite ports. This private island really is a relaxing place. Weather was beautiful and sailing lots of fun. Entertainment was great, Cam the cruise director made each day fun. Singers and dancers were excellent, however we did not care for one show called "Divas". Otherwise the rest of shows were great. Only saw one comedian, he was ok. Lots of events are happening at same time, so you have to pick and choose. Get anytime dinning when possible. We specifically wanted to do a Bahamas cruise for our Wedding Anniversary, we chose the Elation because Jacksonville was a reasonable drive from home for us. Overall, our experience on the cruise was magnificent! We booke Faster to the Fun so boarding was quick and easy and we went straight to our room and dropped our carry ons. Our cabin was larger than I expected and for a family of three was more than adequate, in fact it was perfectly comfortable. Next we ventured up to Lido for lunch. My wife and son opted for Guy's Burgers while I opted for Blue Iguana; in both cases the food was greatly enjoyed. Next we registered my son (8 years old) for Camp Ocean; from that point it was hard to keep him away from Camp Ocean, he loved it. The rest of the first day we enjoyed the journey out to sea and generally relaxed.until it was time for dinner. The first night (and every night) we dined in the Main Dining Room, and each of those nights I found the food to be absolutely amazing and the service to be second to none. I heard no complaints from my wife and son either. Day two was a relaxing day at sea, and there were no complaints about anything; the food was great, the drinks were cold and smooth, and it was just fun! The next day we spent at Half Moon Cay....Honestly, I could get lost here and just hang out forever, this was my type of place and I LOVED it! I do not recall a time in recent memory where I felt more relaxed, it was great! Day four was Nassau Bahamas. I had spent quite a bit of time in Nassau back in my Coast Guard Days many years ago, so I was somewhat familiar, but a lot has changed. Nassau has a reputation the precedes it, but don't let that scare you off. While there are alot of panhandler types and hutlers in the area of the port and straw market; once you get out of those areas you will encounter people as warm and friendly as anywhere in the world. We opted to do our own thing in Nassau which included Queens Staircase, The Government House (where we witnessd a dress rehearsal for Changing of the Guard), and Graycliff. I would recommend Graycliff to anyone; between the chocolate factory, cigar factory, and winery it was a great experience. We rounded our day in Nassau out with a visit to the Pirate Museum, another worthwhile attraction, and lunch. Finally, we returned to the ship and enjoyed some time on board while many people were out in town. Day five was a sea day and much like the first sea day, so it was thoroughly enjoyed. Alas, day six we returned to Jacksonville all too soon. Debarkation was fairly quick and painless although I hated to leave. All in all it was a great first cruise. In addition to all of the things above I have to mention the entertainment. The shows were very entertaining and timed right so you could enjoy other activities on board. The casino, while small, was enjoyable and treated us fairly well. The onboard activities were numerous and it seemed there was always something to do. Finally, I have to mention the crew. Everyone we encountered went above and beyond with their friendliness and customer service. I constantly marveled how in such a short time how everyone I encountered was able to call me and my family by name to the point they felt like family by the time we left. Carnival definitely made a lasting first impression for my fist cruise and I hope that continues for future cruises. I look forward to it. Read Less

We went for a mother’s day adventure. Took my mother to the Bahamas. It was a great time. Staff makes the experience even better. Every staff member says hi in passing and you can tell they truly love their jobs. Cam is extremely entertaining and great at his job. Phillip, our photographer, was kind and takes amazing photos. Our dining team Dean, Anak and Deni made us laugh during our entire meal and gave us memories we won’t forget. Our housekeeper, Mayura, was so nice and did a great job keeping our room looking great. It was a great experience and I would go back again. My only complaint would be disembarkation. It seemed rather unorganized. Entire boat had to be out of rooms by 8:30 am and moved to level 9. This was a lot of people to stay on one level. Halls were blocked off and we were forced to sit in casino and wait. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem however, smoking is allowed in casino and the smokers didn’t hesitate to light up. It was hard to breathe in this room and I have asthma. I smelled like smoke and couldn’t wait to get away. My personal opinion is that smoking should not be allowed anywhere on the boat during the disembarkation process. Smoking is illegal in public buildings in the United States, but allowed in a crowded room on a boat. Doesn’t make much sense to me. Read Less

This cruise matched perfectly my kids fall break and it was the reason we chose it. We got the extended balcony Grand Suite and had priority embarkation and debarkation. We are not heavy drinkers so we did not get any drink package and actually brought some wine in the boat. All the restaurants were really good and we did not have to wait long in line at the buffet or to be seated. There had so many activities to do that overwhelms. The evening shows were amazing as well as the comedy club. My favorites were Cam the cruise director, Neil the guitar player and Mow Mow (butchering the name) who had great voices and were able to entertain all day long. My kids love the mini golf and the water slides. They also enjoyed the kids Camp Ocean so much they wanted to go there every day (not the case when we travel to all inclusive hotels in the Caribbean). Overall it was a great first cruise for some of us and a way better cruise for one of us who had cruise before. There were great deals at the shop, the spa, the art gallery, etc, but not that much time to enjoy it all. The crew were so kind and helpful, Wayan the steward would leave nice notes with the fun towels everyday. Anatoliy performed 2 magic tricks for my kids in the dining room. Magali was so sweet and kind to my kids and family. I mean, I could go on, but they really made us feel like family and appreciated. Looking forward to our next cruise. Read Less

A lot of pot smell but security and housekeeping cleaned house and more people went to boat jail. People who drank too much and yes we saw a few were escorted to their room, card cut off and all alcohol removed for 48 hours! Guys hamburgers were okay but definitely ask for a double and don’t take no for an answer. They have to give you what you ask for! Pool was drained and cleaned everyday, tables were always stocked...to be honest the only problem our group had was was rude cruisers with an attitude that they should be treated like royalty. The Jax Port is being refurbished so here is the best tip I can give you...get there early and forget what your boarding pass says..people who were scheduled at 2 pm were on board at noon! They have no where to make you wait at so just get on board as soon as you can or you will be standing in the heat sweating your butt off! Read Less

We just got back from our cruise to Nassau and Half Moon Cay... the boat itself was okay no overall complaints. The one downside was only being one pool but still manageable. Great staff and excellent food and entertainment. We definitely had the best time in Half Moon Cay. Being our first time to visit the island we chose to do the horseback riding since we would get a view of the island. Best idea ever. The horses are so great and well worth the money for 6 adults ranging from 21-52. The views your get on horseback are absolutely unbelievable. Now Nassau on the other hand... not a fan. We got off the boat and we’re completely bombarded by locals screaming in our faces trying to take us places and give us discounted excursions. Since we were the only ship at the port that day it made it worse. We made it to the beach and weren’t even able to get in the water so after spending about 1.5 hours on land we went straight back to the boat. Definitely liked the more private beach/island better than the extremely commercialized. The boat was great but it is one of the smaller boats but it was still great. Being our first cruise in over 10 years I would say it went well. I would recommend to anyone to do the horseback riding in Half Moon Cay. It won’t disappoint. Read Less

Recently went on cruise to Bahamas on Carnival Elation and there were quite a few issues throughout my trip. 1. My LUGGAGE WAS MISPLACED. I was traveling with family and altogether we had 4 bags with us, all with tags. Three of the bags made it to our rooms, except for mine. I assumed that it would come later, until I went to guest services to book an excursion and saw my bag sitting in the hallway near the bar. I had to retrieve it and take it to the room myself. 2. The second night of the cruise, the AC WENT OUT in my stateroom. 3. STATEROOMS NOT CLEANED FULLY. The wash cloths in my bathroom were not fully clean. Noticeable stains. The comforter on my bed also had a giant noticeable stain (about the size of a small book). Found a pair of glasses from a guest on the cruise before me and a lady I spoke with told me she had leftover sushi in her fridge from the previous cruise, causing the entire stateroom to smell. 4. Had issues with my SAIL AND SIGN ACCOUNT. They offer the option to not connect a card but to pay with cash instead, which is what I did. However, once that cash runs out, your card does not stop working, like I assumed it would. Instead, they continued to allow me to use the card until I was -$200 on my account. I went to guest services and told them I would like to pay the balance off with my debit card, then put more cash on the account for spending money. Instead of zeroing the account out, the rep just connected my debit card to the account and nothing else (which again, I did not want to do) 5. HIDDEN FEES. On the last day of the cruise, there was a $50 gratuity fee added to my bill without my knowledge. I asked why was extra gratuity added again when I had already been paying gratuity the entire time with every purchase. No direct answer was given, only that they would remove the charge. Meaning, if you don't catch it, they'll charge you extra. 6. The boat crew COULD NOT GET CLEARANCE TO DOCK in enough time, causing my family to be late getting to their excursion. The guide did not want to cheat us on our time by cutting the excursion short so he didnt, therefore causing my family to get back to the boat about 5 minutes before they were set to sail. 7. On the first day, all of the staff are super nice and friendly, however, by the final day you can see that they are tired and annoyed with everyone and they became a bit snappy at times. Overall, I didn't have an absolute horrible time, however, given my previous cruise experiences, I expected things to be A LOT better than they actually turned out to be. Read Less

Day one we got to the cabin and reported that it was warm and the A/C didn't seem to be working. We went out checking out the boat which was okay for an older boat. We returned to the cabin in hopes to settle in for a comfortable night but instead found a note saying the A/C was working to Carnivals level or something of that type of wording meaning they didn't find anything wrong with it. We reported it two more times because it was in the mid 70's at night and hard to sleep. We never got anything done about that and stopped reporting it. The housekeeping crew were really good but the restroom in our cabin had a bad smell to it and they cleaned it when we asked but once the smell of the cleaning chemicals were gone the bad smell was right back. We also stopped reporting that. We knew we were stuck in that cabin until Saturday so we just tried to enjoy what we were dealt with. We had been on three cruises since 2016 and on different boats and this one on Elation was the worst experience we have ever had. Many of the food options were the same as other cruises but just wasn't as good. Some was under cooked some was burned like the Pirate Pizza bar. Children were running rampant what seemed to be all night long in groups all over the ship. I can safely say I will never go aboard Elation again and our next cruise is already booked on Royal Caribbean, so I can't say I won't be back on Carnival but it will not be soon. I do have to say that Half Moon Cay was the best experience and it was beautiful. Nassau I could do without and will never go there again. The excursion we chose was a waste of time and money, beach day at the Atlantis for $100 we say some fish in an aquarium and played a few casino games went to the beach but didn't stay because they were out of towels after the on-board meeting told us to not take our carnival towels they would give us a towel at Atlantis. The performers at the Mikado lounge were outstanding though we enjoyed every one of those shows. Anthony, the cruise director was really not that good as a director but may have been a nice guy and the debarkation process was horrible. We waited at the Cole club for over 2 hours while people not following the rules debarked before us. Terrible experience. Read Less

This was my first time on a Carnival Cruise. I didn't like it at all. The service was great from everyone that worked there though.however the cruise itself was disappointing. This ship is really dated and it shows. The handicapped room we had was very small and claustophobic like. The bed that came down from the ceiling made sleeping on the one below it feel like a casket. It had wood on top of you and on the side of you which didn't allow u to be comfortable in the bed. You can hit your head and won't be able to watch TV from it. The way the room is setup is very weird. The TV needs to be placed where everyone can see it. There's a lack of walking space in between the beds and the cabin itself. The bathroom was spacious and comfortable.it was nice to sit on a shower chair and have great pressure come from the hand held shower. The floor does get wet but the water drains thru the drains on the floor. There is good space for putting things away like clothing and personal items. There's a small fridge and a safe. This cabin was R298. It was in the middle of nowhere as far as trying to access any of the popular area from it.It was quite a walk. I recommend a scooter not a wheelchair on this ship and in the Bahamas. Way too much walking and the heat on the island is extremely hot and fatiques you easily. the elevators were small and took a very long time to come down to you and a lot of the time they were already filled with people so you had to continue waiting even longer for the next elevator. the ship itself had barely any gift shops to shop at and they were very small not to mention very expensive. I highly recommend to have any medications or toiletries with you from home instead of buying them on the ship. My mom got sick on the ship with a cold and had to pay $12 for a small package of cold medicine. There were a lot of bars and lounges on the ship, however I didn't feel that there was enough of a choice of food to eat. The buffet had two sides to it and both sides had the same kind of food which was very limited as far as what they were serving. I was looking forward to the Mongolian station but I never did get to see it. Guys burger joint and blue iguana Cantina are located outside near the pool area which is extremely crowded and very hot. There were two main dining rooms and I did not like the food on the ship at all regardless of where we ate. The temperature of the food a lot of times was just warm not hot. The room service selection was extremely limited unless you were willing to pay a few dollars extra to get something better such as quesadillas. otherwise you were mostly stuck with a couple of salads and some sandwiches to choose from. There was also a deli located around the corner from the buffet which was okay. It's served some sandwiches and hot dogs. I was under the understanding that there was a place called The Seafood Shack on this ship but I did not find that either. The lemonade and the ice tea that are served on the buffet are ok in taste. There is only 1 pools in this ship that I found. It was the main one that had two small hot tubs on either side. A lot of the time the pools were extremely crowded and the hot tubs were filled with children so I was not able to experience either of them. The Serinity part of the ship is completely outdated, it is dosent have the relaxing blue colors they are dull gray colors. I think I saw a small hot tub and no pool. I don't even remember seeing any umbrellas over you while you sat there. There is no bar located there, I did however see someone coming around taking drink orders. We're okay there was a lack of activities to do on the ship. The Spa was extremely small and it did not have a relaxing atmosphere at all almost felt like you were in a doctor's office. my fifteen-year-old attended the teen club once however the club was barely open and it seems very outdated and it also was small. for kids with disabilities they do offer a phone that you can get where they will call you if they are any emergencies for a deposit of $100. I did attend an art gallery showing which was fun it allowed me to learn a little bit more about art and also to enjoy looking at some art and attempting to get some prices and relax with some free champagne. the embarkation process was very simple and organized and the disembarkation process as well however I cannot strongly suggest this enough to have someone with a scooter if you have any mobility issues because it is a lot of walking and it is extremely hot.I would recommend another ship I will try Carnival again but definitely not this ship. I chose this cruise because it was going to Half Moon Cay. I have been cruising once or twice a year since 1991. Things have definitely changed over the years. People on cruises used to have manners and morals. Now they let their children run wild, making messes, running over other people, running loudly in the halls at night and even bullying other kids. Another thing is the way people dress or lack of, especially women. I've never seen so many butts and boobs, not just at the pool. People are just too casual, they need to remember they are not at home and need to dress appropriately, it is NOT an adults only or "X" rated cruise. Supervise your kids or stay home with them! We met some very nice people, some not so nice. Usual cruise, I have got to find something else to do for vacation, tired of this zoo! Read Less
