It was our 1st time staying in a balcony stateroom. For all the Princess cruises that we were on, we have always stayed in a suite. The balcony room was very small, not even having a sofa, just an armchair, so the 2nd guest had to sit on a chair against the desk, if not wanting to sit on the bed. There were only 1 electrical outlet for 2 plugs next to the desk. The one behind the big TV was basically unreachable. Our room, though small, had newly refaced furniture, wall padding and carpet. The bathroom, though old-fashioned, was clean. Read Less

Our cabin steward was adequate. Our cabin was clean with no problems. It just seemed like there was a lack of personal, one-on-one interaction with the steward like on other ships. Not once did we get a towel animal or anything unique like on other ships. Its a shame most lines today have gone to the 'mandatory tipping' model, where most ship staff feel like exceptional service will go unrewarded and they'll just be getting their split of the tip jar at the end of the cruise. My daughters had an adjoining balcony cabin on Rivera deck just behind the ship's bridge (we could see the captain and crew walking about the bridge from our balconies, pretty cool!) However, our cabins weren't connecting, but our room steward opened the door on the balcony which allowed us access to each cabin via the balcony. The cabins were laid out very well, with a very spacious closet area. The bed was everything advertised-very comfortable and plush. Read Less
