This is my 18th cruise, in which half have been with Royal Carribean. I love the big ships so I was excited to be on Harmony's first Carribean voyage. Since this was the inaugural voyage here and they lost many of their staff when they departed the Mediteraian area, some bumps were to be expected. The bars ran out of Miller Lite on the first night out and the last night. They ran out of pina colada mix. Sabors ran out of avocados the last night so no table side guacamole. It was obvious that many of the staff were new and had not learned their positions yet. The smarter ones were asking those of us who were cruising if we knew the answer when they did not. What bothered me most was how rude and disrespectful some of the bar staff and specialty restaurant staff were. I've laid these complaints out first in the hopes that an exec from RCI will read them. I am sure all the concerns I have mentioned will not surface in a few months from now. My five star rating came from my belief that the glitches will be ironed out in the next few cruises. On to all the great and wonderful things about this ship. She is a beauty. If you have been on any of the other Oasis class ships you will be familiar with the layout. The staterooms are done in greys and teals. We had a balcony room on the 11 deck. It is the largest balcony I have ever had. There is a great deal of storage in the room also which I wasn't use to. There were two closets for hanging clothes, the standard four shelves within the one closet, two drawers below that, a separate dresser with five more drawers, and a mini fridge too! The bathroom was normal sized for a ship. There are glass doors on the shower. This ship does not provide you with shampoo and conditioner so be prepared to bring your own. We had to do my time dining on the ship even though we booked a year in advance. We went online about six months before our sailing date and reserved a six o'clock dining time for a table for two. I went and checked on our reservation the afternoon when we boarded. I was told if we wanted the table for two to be there at 5:30. We got there at 5:25 and had no problem getting a table. We loved our waitstaff so as we left the first evening, we asked to have the same table (Silk 909) at the same time for the remainder of the cruise. The maitre d was very accommodating. Dhondee and Indranee along with the Head Waiter, Daniel were so wonderful that all five tables in our section requested to stay with them. We had so mush fun! The food was the best I have ever had on a cruise in the main dining area. It was well presented, always hot if it was suppose to be, and flavorful. Actually we didn't have one meal that we walked away from thinking that was not good. Entertainment on this ship is phenomenal. Make sure you go online and book in advance. Grease was great! Both ice shows were well done. Columbus, the musical, was hilariously. Make sure you see the comedian in the Attic. He is hilarious, but for adults only. A Fine Line, the aquatic show, is different. Either you will love it or hate it. However, the performance was beyond wonderful. Just don't expect a plot. The casino was large and housed many new types of slots. One thing to note if you are a gambler, you CANNOT just put your room key into a machine and put money on your account. The machines only take cash. If you want to put money on to your room account to use to gamble, you have to go see the cashier and they will charge you five percent to do it! It was cheaper for me to go pay the ATM six dollars. This review is about the ship and its services, not the ports or arrivals and departures. I would definitely sail the Harmony again. She is beautiful and packed with activities. Read Less
