We choose this cruise due to the itinerary. But sad of most of the Italian ports the ports in the most important like Florence left to early. And in other Countries where there was much to adventure stayed quite late. The ship is very old and outdated. Noticed duct tape in the oceanview cafe on the carpet in several places. The windows were dirty. Rust all around our balcony and bathroom. The ship just did not have the sparkle of clean like my other cruises. We were quite disappointed for this being our first on Celebrity we have cruised 16 on Royal and heard Celebrity was a step above. The TV broke off the stand while we were at dinner and it took 2 days for the TV to be fixed. We had to keep calling. I was told they were refurbishing the ship - they only thing we saw if one day when we returned there was a new shower head. WOW.. This ship should not be charging passengers full price for the old out dated tired lady. Nothing special for elite members - never heard what was going on. No Captain Club like others - no special check in for elite former quest. It was not the crews fault for the tired ship but it is Celebrity Management fault for letting a ship like this be afloat and charge the price they do. Only one of the 4 (one was canceled) shore excursions was good. The others were a waste of time and money but it is not much the money as it was a waste of time in the cities. They did not hold up to the standards. Celebrity needs to vent their 3rd parties. They were awful. Do I recommend Celebrity Excursions to anyone NO> Would I go again NO NOT on this ship and not sure if I would on Celebrity. I could go on but don't have enough space. Totally shocked with Celebrity Read Less

We were on a 12 night cruise in the Western Med in an Aquaclass cabin. We were somewhat concerned before we left on this cruise having read a number of reviews talking about how tired the ship looked and indicating the food was so so. This was not our experience. The ship is older but I found it very clean and well maintained. They were repainting large sections of the wooden railings on this voyage. We ate most nights in Blue (never ate in Trellis) and the food was above average and on most nights was excellent. The staff were great. We did have a couple of lunches and a breakfast in the Oceanview Café and we were impressed with the choice and the quality of the freshly prepared pasta and omelettes. Café Al Bacio was great and the Martini Bar was a blast. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. Only our 3rd cruise and all with Celebrity. On our first two cruises we were in suites but we found the Aquaclass passengers we met in Blu a lot friendlier than the suite class guests we met on other cruises. The retreat might be a good enough reason to book a suite on our next cruise. However, we liked Aquaclass and actually preferred the food and atmosphere in Blu as compared to Luminae. Read Less

We haven't been on Celebrity for many years but since we were cruising with our grand-daughter (turned 6 on the cruise) wanted a cruise with an available roomy suite, good service and activities for a 6 year old. This cruise was priced right for a Royal Suite - probably because it hadn't had it's well overdue makeover yet - and also it was relatively early in the Mediterranean season. We weren't sure if or how Sarah would like the kids' club but it was nice to know it was available. Also, included in our cruise price was the premium drink package, wi-fi for 4 devices, access to all restaurants, butler service. Pretty much everything and more we have been getting while cruising Regent and Silversea. Sure, the ship was larger, but by today's standards this is a mid-size ship and it's probably the largest sized ship we will cruise on. Also, the itinerary, while similar to other cruises we have been on, had some different stops for us, including Sete and Corsica, France and Messina in Sicily. Overall, we were very pleased with our cruise. We were met at embarkation by Michaels Club Concierge Joao, who helped make our cruise special throughout the cruise. We lunched in Luminae, the suites only restaurant for lunch, and they made a great impression on our grand-daughter by finding her favorite drink, doing a special spaghetti and meatball, and throughout the cruise helped her feel very special. Our butler, Chip (not his real name, but that's what he wanted us to call him) from Romania, was always available and brought us hot and fresh breakfasts every morning, made sure our suite was up to speed with all our requests, and helped make Sarah's birthday special with door and room decorations and a beautiful cake. The cabin interior was beautiful and were pretty much all the interior areas of the ship. Our balcony needed upkeep, and the exterior spa tub was too rusty to even consider using. On the other hand, the inside jacuzzi tub was so much fun it was hard to get our grand-daughter out of the bath. The food was fine. I especially enjoyed many of the seafood entrees and my wife was thrilled that they offered a true and properly cooked veal chop one evening. If there wasn't anything of interest on the Luminae menu, we could always order off the main dining room menu as well. Offerings at the buffet (which we mostly used at lunch when we were on the ship) was varied but we often gravitated to the grill, pizza station and Asian area. Overall, we felt the food was comparable to our most recent Regent experiences, and that was very flattering to Celebrity. My wife had a small medical incident on the ship and she was seen promptly by the ship's doctor who was able to do a test to determine it was not more serious (although they recommended we see someone off the ship, it wasn't necessary) and the bill, we thought, was reasonable for seeing a ship's doctor (and we will get reimbursement from insurance). The shops on the ship had good merchandise and was priced well, but they had to charge VAT since all the stops were in the EU. Still, we were able to get a good price on a nice watch, and with the VAT refund, felt we got a very fair deal. Sarah loved the kid's club and towards the end of the cruise would rather spend the day there than get off the ship with us!! Kudos to the staff and well done!! This was a pretty international cruise with I'd say less than 50% Americans or Canadians, less than we would expect. For the most part, I'd say everyone was polite, with very few chair hogs on our sea days (well, at least not early risers). Our grand-daughter loved the pool area and thoroughly enjoyed herself. Because she was 6 we couldn't use the indoor pool area but it looked clean and well maintained. Susan said her spa experience was very good. We disembarked in Rome (Civi) and Joao even escorted us off the ship! Our grand-daughter says if she can't live in Tucson she wants to live on the ship!! I'm sure the Infinity will be even better after it's upcoming dry-dock, but for now, we would highly recommend it if you want a more affordable cruise with an excellent cruise line. Read Less

Chose this cruise as we like sailing on M class ships and this one had a great itinerary with some stops we had not previously cruised to. We had some reservations when reading previous reviews about Infinity. Yes she does need a refurb which I understand will be later this year, but this in no way detracted from the excellence service we received from all members of staff. We had fabulous wait staff in the main dining room, the food was excellent, good selection and quality, quite possible some of the best we have had on celebrity. The staff we unfailingly polite, courteous and couldn’t do enough for you. We are not ones for the entertainment and shows so unable to comment, but there was a great band who played most nights is one or another lounge. Ship excursions are expensive, but in most European ports easy to arrange yourselves, especially with the longer port times that seem very popular at present. If you are planning to cruise on Infinity this year, don’t let some of the negative reviews concern you. I firmly believe that if you go looking for problems you will always find them, but we had a great time and would be happy to sail on her again in the future. Read Less

We wanted to see Mykonos, Athens and Santorini and have cruised with Celebrity on a number of occasions. Overall it was a decent itinerary with 8 x ports and 4 x days at sea. Good staff and some really good U K based performing acts in the theatre. Food overall was good but the main dining room menu is getting a bit stale and as such we ate in self service restaurant on a few occasions which was a nice change. We found it disappointing that we could not even try a Martini, using our drinks package, you needed premium, in the Martini Bar. In general the wines that we tried at night did not match the quality from previous Celebrity cruises. We booked three shore excursions through Celebrity and two through Cruising excursions, which on the whole were far better value than Celebrity. Although the ship was okay it is definitely looking very tired and in urgent need of a refit. We also enjoyed coffee at Al Bachio and the occasional confectionary on a daily basis. It was also nice to be sitting somewhere and one of the onboard entertainers would set up and start playing. Read Less

Our cruise aboard Celebrity Infinity was fabulous. We began with a stay at the Hilton Diagonal Mar in Barcelona. The hotel was flawless and has an incredible pool/beach club and the view from our room was breathtaking. Barcelona is such a nice city to walk. The embarkation process was easy and uncrowded. We boarded around noon and our stateroom was available around 1:00. Enough time to wander the ship a little bit.... I was a little apprehensive of what the ship's condition would be based on reading some reviews on this site prior to leaving on our trip. There were a number of reviews that described the ship as tired. We found the ship to be very clean in all areas. It is scheduled for dry dock and a major renovation in November 2020. The stateroom was in good condition. All of the furniture and fixtures were clean and in good repair. The public areas appear to have been renovated in recent years and the public area furnishings and décor was up to date and in great condition. The stateroom did lack some things that I assume will be addressed in the November 2020 renovation. in this day and age where everyone travels with a phone and iPad (or laptop) there were not enough power outlets available. We brought a 10 unit charger station and were able to overcome this challenge. There also was NO power outlet in the bathroom. There were three of us in the cabin including our 11-year old son. We were in an Oceanview cabin with a pull out sofa bed for our son. I would not recommend this configuration as it minimized the space when the bed was pilled out. An overhead berth would have been more accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised that every single crew member was friendly and demonstrated excellent hospitality. Without exception! There were plenty of activities to participate in and entertainment to enjoy. The "Fun Factory" for our son was well run and had everything to occupy and entertain an 11-year old. The ports on our itinerary were nice and varied with an emphasis on Greece. Read Less

Poor: 1.) Our room and the total ship, for that matter, is very "tired". We actually traveled on the Infinity in 2004 and don't believe any updates have been made since then (dramatization on my part). The crew we talked to stated a retro is due in October, but that didn't help us for now. Every passenger we spoke to about the ship stated the same thing, ship needs help. 2.) No Captain's Club for check in on pier. 3.) No Aqua Class check in. 4.) Captain's Club desk onboard only open a couple of hours each day 5.) The onboard stage entertainment was poor. The only opportunity possible for a mix was when a comedian was scheduled and then canceled the day before. The substitution was for the same singer we had the previous evening and, although talented, began getting a bit redundant. The idea of "mixing it up" came with cycling in the Celebrity Entertainers. The small combos performing at the bars, were good, on the other hand. 6.) Due to our special dates, my 70th birthday and wife's 64th, both happening during the cruise, we must say that we probably enjoyed this Celebrity cruise the least of those in the past. 7.) The staff ship wide was probably only 25% sincere. Didn't get a real friendly feeling from the majority of our contacts. Good: 1.) Aqua Class was a cruise saver. Aside from the room condition, everything else was terrific. The Blu Room for Aqua Class meals was wonderful. The help was 100% sincere, starting with the front check in down to the whole room staff. Never had to wait for a table and crew attempted to meet whatever requests we may have had. 2.) The included spa steam rooms were a great plus after using the attached gym. 3.) The gym is laid out well the machines all function correctly. 4.) The two specialty restaurants we visited were both great. We did see that one of the ones we didn't try, was the Sushi restaurant. Every time we walked by, there was nobody present to dine. We think they might want to look into replacing with another type. Read Less

My wife and I were very happy with the food, service and appearance of this aging but beautiful ship. The staff in Micheal's club was particularly helpful and attentive. We sailed on a back to back in a Celebrity suite, actually a comfortable, on board, apartment. The ship is classic with wood accents and panels.Celebrity is making a huge mistake ripping out the extravagant wood panels and classic decor to "revolutionize" the ship. The pre-modern design is beautiful and comfortable The food served in Luminae restaurant is delicious but a little heavy for our tastes. However, we can't complain about multiple fillets and lobster in champagne sauce. Typically, we would pay over $100 for a similar meal at home. My wife and I have over 100 cruises on a variety of lines and the Celebrity Infinity is near the top. Many thanks to Vedran, the excellent hotel director, John, Jeffrey and Wim, the concierge team, and the entire staff for the personal service and for an exceptional experience. Read Less
