Royal Seas. Let me first say that there is nothing Royal about this. Don’t let the pictures of the brand new cruise ships fool you. The ship we got on was rusted and corroding away. They called us with an all inclusive package that in reality, was nothing inclusive about. We gave them a credit card number that we knew did not have enough to cover the initial $1,000 so that it would be declined and they could leave us alone. Well they had a way around that and charged it anyways so that we were way over our limit. After 6 months we decided that this was not something we were interested in. After trying to get a refund, we were refused and told basically that we either take it, give it to a friend, or forfeit the money. After some deliberation we decide to just go ahead and take it. We should have just forfeited the money. There was a bunch of taxes and hidden fees that were not included in our all inclusive package. We also paid $300 to upgrade our resort on the island so that our food and beverages were included. We set our date, book our flights ($400 extra), and arrive in FT. Lauderdale. After also upgrading the rental car (because we aren’t fitting comfortably into a Kia Rio $170 extra), we get to our hotel that Royal Seas booked us claiming to be a Ramada....yeah like 10 years ago. Let’s talk about false advertising here folks. The room itself was spacious, beds were not terribly uncomfortable, but the AC only cooled to about 78 degrees. Top that with only 4 tv stations, and the late night drug deals in the parking lot....we were not happy. Then we find out the next day our “orientation” was actually a Time Share tour. Living in a tourist town we know what a waste of time that was about to be...but they hold our Cruise tickets hostage until you endure 2 hours of “OMG it wont even cost you that much and you get this and this and this” better known as we cost more then a car payment and will bankrupt you into a contract you cant get out of. Come on Wyndham, you could have at least put us up in your “resort” to sell us a time share. After leaving 2 hours of our life that we will never get back, we call Royal Seas to complain about the accommodations, at first we get a rude little girl who very unprofessionally hangs up on us. As business owners, rule 1, never be the first to hang up. After calling back and speaking to management, they acted like they were gonna put us through to HR to put a formal complaint against that person, but we were hung up again, and only after saying they didnt have anything else available. Needless to say, we packed our bags, found the best little AirB&B 1 hour away and hightailed it out of there with our cruise tickets. Honestly, the AirB&B was the highlight of our trip. On day 3 we make our way to the port to board the ship. We get there at 11, stand in line for 1.5 hours, get charged $150 (taxes, fees, taxis, etc) and board the ship. Only to not have our rooms ready so we are forced to be around a bunch of strangers while hoarding our stuff because, well, they let anyone aboard. After barely eating a down right terrible lunch buffet, we sweat our butts off on the outside deck so the claustrophobia isn’t as bad before finally getting to go to our room...Where we promptly tried to hide in for 3 hours until the dang boat finally set sail. Let me say this right here if nothing else, they do not tell you what’s included, help you out at all, or care if you are getting everything you want out of the amenities included. We were afraid to leave the room for fear of having to be charged anything extra and at 18% gratuity alone, no thanks. Skipping ahead to the next morning (because there are just some stresses that needn’t be said) at 830 we all but ran off the ship to the hot island Bahamian air where we had to wait on a taxi to our resort. There’s our first indication that Islanders are not very friendly, especially when you’re a different skin color then them. We were ignored and left waiting for the next taxi because one female driver decided we weren’t her people. The next taxi held 12 people in it, 12 hot sweaty people, barely working AC, and a 20 year old van in desperate need of shocks. 20 grueling minutes later we arrive at the “all inclusive resort” where we were told to make sure we have a day bag packed because for 6 hot miserable hours, we would not be allowed to check into our room. At first we were excited. there was music, white (ish) beaches, and clear blue water. We found our own spot along the beach and took turns in the water (after all, trust no one, especially islanders haggling with you on the beach for Conch shells, marijuana, and Cocaine...yes, cocaine which we were offered 10 minutes after stepping foot on the beach.) 2 miserable hours later we get our buffet lunch (mediocre) and proceed to sit around for 4 more miserable hot sweaty hours before standing in line for 45 mins to get room keys. After walking to the absolute furthest room on the island we are met with a nice cool ACed room, but missing towels which an employee gave to us about 20minutes after getting in there. 7 hours in and we were already dead sick of being trapped in this resort. After looking into tours, excursions, and tourists traps (dont even ask about them unless you got money coming out of your ass because thats honestly the only way you’ll afford anything) the next day we purchased a rental car. $85 with taxes, we set off on day 2 with the resort in the rear view. While we found our own private beaches, coral rehabilitations, and deserted roads, the island is dirty, poor, and literally a living garbage can. Trash everywhere, run down buildings everywhere, abandoned hotels. It was downright sad at the state of what could have been a beautiful island. Day 3 we return the rental to an extremely rude owner who decided overnight that we were no longer worth mannerisms and check out of our hotel to get back on the dreaded cruise ship. I will say the return home was not nearly as bad now that we knew what was included but still, Royal Seas isn’t even comparable to one of those little rescue boats hanging off of a Carnival cruise ship. Before they con you into spending your hard earned money, think twice and read reviews. Splurge for Carnival, or stay away from floating death traps that hold a thousand people who would shove you overboard to save themselves and make your own way. AirB&Bs include house boats if you wanna be on the waters. Just saying. Read Less

Took this cruise as part of a cheap package that included hotels stays from a travel agent that also included a timeshare tour for a low price. The only parking at this port is valet parking for $19 per day. It was handled well, but that is your only choice as no other parking appeared to be in the area. We arrived at the port around 1 PM and embarkation was pretty fast as it seemed that most people arrived at the 12 hour when the ship started boarding. We had an accessible cabin 6116 because I had to take a mobility scooter. The cabin layout was different. It was a wide door that opened out in to the main hallway where normal cabins opened inwards to the cabins. The room was narrow with a path leading to the toilet and shower in the back of the cabin which turned out to be wider than the cabin area itself. The bathroom area had ample room for the facilities and provided plenty of room to turn the scooter around and use the path to the cabin door without having to back up out of the cabin. The cabin area had a desk and closet to one side of the path and the two beds against the wall on the other side of the path. All acceptable cabins will be interior and this cabin (6116) only had one 220V European plug which kind of makes it hard to charge a mobility scooter ion the cabin and no other plugs in the interior cabin. However after inquiring with guest services to have something work for me, they did provide an adapter and power supply that was 115V to charge the scooter and provided a USB plug for charging electronics. From what I understand all cabins only have one plug and the regular rooms have 115V outlets but I did not see that first hand for myself. It is an older ship and it was pretty well maintained with cleaning and painting. The ship was easy to navigate between areas and there were 8 working elevators. The elevator limit was rated for twelve people, but I doubt that you can get more than six or seven people in them at one time comfortably. The ship was decorated for Christmas. The band during this cruise was very good and the main theater had a very good show during both of our nights. Both nights also included a family comedy section as well as the main show. We opted not to see the adult comedy show because it was a $9 charge. The main dining room was clean and the service was very good. The complimentary menu choices are a limited, but tasted good. You get an appetizer, main course and a desert. We had the braised beef rib the first night and the sirloin flat steak the second night. There is no assigned seating and when the door opened at 6PM everyone in line entered at the same time. The staff lead you through the dining room and you were seated as a family or party of how many and given the option of a table with others so you can make new acquaintances. The buffet area is smaller than most ships but had plenty of seating. The food areas appeared to be clean and the food was good. Hot food table, fruit and salad area, and a desert and beverage area. The only major complaint with the food and beverages was the water. It had a strange after taste as if they added something to it or the distillers need to be replaced. It was just not good tasting. The easiest way around it was to get the lemonade or ice tea and shove some food in your mouth after taking a gulp. The buffet was open for breakfast, lunch, diner, and a midnight snack. Typical breakfast was eggs, bacon, toast, corned beef hash, cereals and fruits. Lunch and diner included a carving station, meats, cheeses, sides, salad bar, and deserts. Midnight buffet was tacos and gyros. There was a poolside BBQ on Sunday before we left the Bahamas. The service was good and the staff were all friendly. The activities staff always seem to have something planned around the ship and they definitely try to be in character to make things fun with costumes and off the wall wearing of items such as a one peace pajama or some wild tug along toy and even a guy dressed as a panda with a tutu during the sail away party at the pool. They played a few cash game bingo sessions and even had poolside karaoke at night. And also had a beanbag toss competition for two top prizes to get $25 and $50 dollars removed from your on board account I had seen many reviews about extra fees of room cleaning or making you try and make an up scale purchase and I had my reservations about that as well. When we boarded the ship they had have areas to get you to upgrade meals and get bar drink packages, but we were able to go by those without a hassle. We did not see a room cleaning fee as others have posted, but the do have a set gratuity of $13.95 per person, per day. That is not much different than any other cruise line I have traveled with. We did have two other additional charges that I am not used to seeing from past cruise lines I have sailed with. The first being a cruise terminal fee of $1 per person, and the second being a Fuel Surcharge of $18 per person. Most cruise lines say the fuel surcharge is possible but this is the first time I have ever been accessed that fee which is a turnoff to me. It is not like there was any big fuel shortage at a massive price increase. During this sailing the price of fuels has even dropped compared to recent months. It's almost like saying that they don't think the fuel should be part of the operating cost and they just want to get more money from you. If I didn't have to pay that fuel charge without knowing it ahead of time I may have rated this cruise 5 stars. But it wasn't till we closed out our account that we were notified about it on the billing statement. Everything is per person instead of per cabin and for two people that's an extra $36 you didn't expect. We did not do any shore excursions The main section of the port was closed on Sunday being that no other ships were in port. We only went to the pier to pick up a few t-shirts from the limited local vendors that were open. Disembarking was just as easy as embarking on the cruise with the exception of the line for customs. That seemed to go a bit slow and the line tended to get long from it in the terminal. As far as leaving the ship it was pretty fast getting off the ship , just the terminal wait was lagging in movement. Once outside the terminal they had plenty of people getting the vehicles up to the curb for you to load up and leave the port. Read Less

I really want to go back next year. I took the excursion to Grand Lucaya. its a Beautiful place. Exceptional The saxophone show in the encore salon. the Game for couples stole laughter from everyone present. If you love to play, the casino is very well suited. Yellow Elder restaurant has excellent entrees included in the price and likewise additional dishes at a moderate price. the cleanliness is spectacular. the staff is concerned about constantly keeping everything clean and very organized. The area for jogging is excellent. I recommend this cruise 100%! ! ! Read Less

It's a great short getaway. The crew are fun and friendly, the food is great, the entertainment is good. No need for a balcony as the only time you are at sea is at night. They have great deals which is less than if you were to book a hotel, restaurants and entertainment for a quick getaway. People are always in a fun and festive mood. It seems like the crew is encouraged to make sure everyone has a good time. The bed was very comfortable. The ship is older without the bells and whistles of the newer ships, but the cabin with ocean view is very comfortable. Dining can be freestyle if you wish. We like the buffet which has good variety and an outdoor grill. Parking is only available at the port as there are no other parking areas around. The valet parking is very convenient and $17 per day ($34 total). Read Less

Chose the trip as a first cruise for my wife. 2 days on the water is a safe way to determine if a longer Alaska or Eupopean cruise would work. Everything from the booking process through the disembarkation was smooth. The ship is older and has been refitted so it looks and feels modern. The cabin was nice, I jab a lower deck outside cabin that had a HUGE round port hole window. Queen sized bed, side tables, and a small TV (for what?) were in the room. The fridge wasn’t up to par and the head of housekeeping offered us an ice chest but we settled on a constant supply of fresh ice and that worked well. We ate at the Admiralty on the first night, which was an upgraded dining option but checked out the Ocean Buffet which looked substantial on its own. Night 2 we ate at the Rock Grill, on our next trip I’ll try to finagle the Admiralty both nights. The shows are so-so BUT the Adult comedian on our trip (Lou Remy) had the audience rolling in the aisles. If you’ve been to Freeport and hit Port Lucaya then there’s no need to spend anything on the excursions. I’m already planning our next Grand Classica trip. . Read Less

The cabin was comfortable, and, we took the package for 10 drinks, which we think was well worth it. We had so much fun seeing Michelle perform we never got to any of the shows, or casino. All the music after her was good as well. I hope when we go back its all the same. We took the excursion to Lucaya, they give a tour of the island, we had a knowledgeable guide who then took us to the beach. Absolutely like I remember it from years ago, beautiful. We wanted to have lunch at the outside bar but there wasn't enough room for us to eat. They could use a few more tables. There wasn't a big variety on the menu, but we made do. Read Less

Bahamas Paradise Classico is so much better than I expected it to be . If I listened to the reviews I wouldn’t have booked this trip. But I wanted to form my own opinion. The food is Very good so far. We had the buffet lunch and for dinner we ate in the main dining room The salmon was the best salmon I’ve had in a while and the dessert was great . Our wait Ivan was quite attentive. Now We are walking around the ship .A beautiful ship with lovely art work. Our cabin is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is big enough for two people to use at one time. The staff is friendly, efficient and professional. Saw the Donna Summer (Sharon Johnson) act in the Encore lounge and she was great . We had breakfast in the main dining room on the second day. Lovely luck we got Ivan for our waiter again this morning. We were offered danish, fresh fruit, omelets. Pancakes, toast, juices etc. Hearty and tasty meal. We have been to the Bahamas many times so we stayed onboard. Relaxed at the pool. Bahamas part 2 I decided to buy the 4 hour Internet package. It was $7. I checked my email and uploaded pictures to Fac ebook. The lunch buffet had a turkey carving station and fresh salad and fruit. Also offered pannini. I didn’t think I would like anything on the dinner but boy was I wrong. Goat cheese croquettes were yummy and so was the avocado mango chicken salad. 830 PM , Encore lounge had a Tina Turner tribute that was amazing. The show was called Superstition in The Legends Theater at 930PM . There was a musician, comedian , dancers and singers. Lovely trip. The only complaint is that there is not a drink station when dining areas are closed. You can buy alcohol etc. but coffee you need to pay for. I would give it a 9 out of 10. Read Less

I saw lots of bad reviews but the buy one get one mothers day was too good to turn down. I can't say what experiences other had only mine so take it with a grain of salt. Boarding- Just flat out excellent. No waiting at all basically work right in and give them paperwork and set dining time. Do paperwork beforehand and no need to stop at blue desk. Go straight to counter. Took maybe 15 minutes front door to buffet. Done eating and rooms were ready. Cabin much larger then newer ships and even had an extra Murphy bed which we did not use but nice. Large nice porthole windows maybe even bigger then the square windows on some other lines. Bathrooms large as well all redone in all smooth fiberglass. A/c is in centigrade but right around 22 was about 70 degrees at least that's what my projection clock says. Exceptionally clean and room steward knocked and introduced himself. Agus was his name said we need anything let him know which we do prefer ice everyday in our room. Fresh ice no issue. Cabin issues zero. Buffet not much choice but just OK. The Rock Grill hamburger, dogs , fries bratwurst and sausages in rear where you can eat outside very good. Service in buffet about average but kudos for cleaning up fast. Sometimes too fast left to get something else and my silverware was gone. Buffet issues: water, all drinks except for coffee. They all had a chlorine taste way too strong. I think the coffee over powered the taste so what I drank mainly. Tea wasn't terrible. This cruise line doesn't allow anything even bottled water to be brought on board so this is a major issue unless you plan on alcohol for all your drinks which of course is expensive. Their sister ship Celebration does not have this issue. Moving to MDR fantastic service little slower then sister ship but getting up to speed. Service very good meals again variety suffers but definitely upgrade from buffet and beef tender was excellent. You can chose Admiral dining room naturally for up charge but more and better variety IMO. Eugene was our waiter. No complaints except for water issue as stated above. Entertainment: IMO they are as good or maybe even better then the big boys. Sound not too loud like Carnival always too loud. Dancing and singing much better the the Celebration. Performances all over the ship were excellent. One let us down a little the Piano man but still not bad. Heard worse on RCI. Many venues and different varieties you should be able to find something you like. We avid the DJ's and what I call the noisy side of ship but that's what you like plenty of that as well as island music, and latin disco. You can party hearty or just lay back and enjoy and anywhere in between. They do a relatively good job pleasing everyone. Now for the bad. NOTHING and I mean nothing is free. Ask for tomato juice upcharge. Free on all the other lines but then you pay double for it. They push drink packages hard especially the first day. 10 times I believe. Like most of the other lines doesn't include the 18% gratuity they call it. I call it a subsidy fee to cruise line. You are picky or want pampered the entire cruise. This line is not for you. Though I will say they had a speech about adults controlling the children. Kudos for trying but parents now days more interested in social media then watching their kids. So expect some rowdy children. Age groups where all kinds so you prefer older groups or younger you can find both. Compare it to Carnival for age groups but better variety then Carnival as for entertainment. No water slides and very small pools. One adult only pool and but one bath size hot tub maybe 5 people max. Actually had two but only one working but since it rained no one use them at all. Games and activities as good as the big boys and IMO again better. Nothing outstanding surfing, rock climbing mini golf just a typical cruise. Lot of wasted space and ship still doesn't have everything up and running including the Ice Cream machine. They have plenty of room for mini golf and sports court so not sure why. Thus the half the price of the others. Now during shoulder months price is almost the same in which case take a real cruise 7 days or longer and enjoy. Go for the gusto! However you just want to set back relax do nothing or party for 2 days without the clean up. This may be for you. Nice 2 day get away. Excursions more reasonable then the big boys and just as nice. Stay away from the cabs take the shuttle service for 1/4 the cost or ship excursion. You may want to check out others like shorexcurisoneer.com as well. You get what you pay for so don't expect all the amenities and services for the bigger lines and just enjoy cheap few days at sea. Disembark : We always take our own luggage off the ship and very fast. Maybe 20 minutes and we are in our car heading home. Read Less

This was my fifth cruise aboard the Grand Celebration. This was a reunion with my cousin whom I havent seen in 14 years and my sister. We booked Concierge Deck level 11. There is nothing bad about this ship. Its been in our port for 3-4 years and has only gotten better over the years. Its the cleanest ship I have ever been on. Aside from the fact that the weather was perfect and its was a family reunion of sorts, here are my highlights. They walk you on to the ship, they ask you about what dinner times you want and they take careof everything. You are given a phone number and if you need something, its taken care of by the concierge. We were given a tour of the bridge and it was informative and fun. They also serve drinks and fancy finger foods on the tour. Because I have been to Freeport a million times I had no desire to get off the ship. The ship was my destination. So we took a leisurely breakfast In the Admiralty Club and then sat by the pool. We then caught a movie waiting for the casino to open at 3:00 and that is when the real fun begins. The casino was amazing. We saw a woman win $4,000 and I won $840. We bought all the pictures they took of us. The photographer was great. Dinner was always good and cooked perfectly. I live in Palm Beach County and I’m so happy this cruiseline is here. I am a caregiver for my husband who has Alzheimers. I love cruising and he cannot come with me. So for me a 2 day cruise is perfect. This ship is my home away from home and it helps me keep my sanity under my circumstances. With all that said there are different levels of this ship and everyone seems happy and enjoying themselves. Great job again Bahamas Paradise. The only criticism I have that the liitle market place where Senor Frogs is should be open all the the time the Bahamas Paradise cruise ships. It doesn’t seem fair that it would be closed because Bahamas Paradise always has a ship in port. My only beef and that should be negotiated with the Freeport Grand Bahama Island government. Read Less

Also was double charged and has been a hassle to get my money back! Been calling several times to clear this mishap but unfortunately I just keep getting the please call back excuse SMH. I just want my money back in my account. Met friendly people during the cruise and on shore. We did the inclusive Wyndham resort all you can drink and eat buffet, their food was better than crusie ship. Drinks were both good on ship and at the resort. Next I think I'll try the other one to see more shopping etc. But overall, good time with my cousin. PS: Next time I will use prepay debit card for cruise charges just in case so I wont experience this again SMH. Read Less

I have been on the Bahamas Celebratiojn many times always with a positive experience. We thought that the cruise line would bring this same effect forward to the Classica. They were very much too soon with putting this ship in their use... There was no pre boarding paperwork available on line. On board there was no deck plans to be had. The ship is old and looks it. The carpeting looks shabby. The walls look shabby. The furniture looks shabby (tables at poolside were peeling). The phone in the room had no directory... Nothing was ready for this ship was ready to be put online with passengers, The crew and all on board worked hard to do thing up but without help for the ship itself nothing worked. I have been sailing with this line since well before the first ship sunk (sank) and there was no doubt of my returning. Time share is not the Bahamas Cruise, so beware of this group I will sail again on the Celebration to see how things are there, but I would stay away from the Classica for a least a year to see if it can be brought up to the standard that I am used to. It was a great getaway let if they can continue to be up to their standards. DO NOT SAIL ON THE CLASSICA. Read Less

Looking for a cruise wife's birthday in March. As all cruisers know from now till September no cheap cruises to be found anywhere. Bahama Paradise Cruise line offered BOGO. I assumed it was like everyone else's BOGO mark it up and say included in price shown (Royal Caribbean favorite). Well to my surprise actually was buy one get one. Naturally port fees ,taxes , gratuities for 2 had to be paid but the fare was $229 for ocean view room and included second person as well. I was about to go with the Groupon offer $199 for 2 inside room then this came up on their website. YES You also get to pick your room! No guarantee room under the night club or in the front of the ship. Called the cruise line confirmed everything over the phone and chose a room in middle of ship deck 4. I was concerned the ship being small would rock n roll but not the case. We did have very calm seas which helped I'm sure. Now down to the nitty gritty. Embarkation crude very old fashion everything via paperwork. No computers but picture was scanned on your set sail card. We arrived around 12:30 and boarding started at noon. We were on board eating in the buffet by 12:50 just 20 minutes not too bad. I was expecting the usual seat hogs and no tables to eat on while everyone waited for their room to be ready but pleasantly surprised buffet extremely small but plenty of seating available. Second pleasant surprise after setting down to eat and finishing my dessert announcement came rooms were ready! Left buffet went to room 3rd surprise luggage already there and key card in door. These are old fashioned key cards plastic punch key like old computer cards for those old enough to remember. Wow starting out great. Cabin clean but dated which we expected but very nice. Baths much larger then on newer ships and descent room size. Never did see our room stewart which was unusual but then we got our own ice from buffet each day and had no issues. We are not ones to stay in our room that much. No towel animals somewhat disappointment for my wife but MSC had same deal. Our room was cleaned everyday twice a day and on the last day small chocolate mint. No complaints there as well. Now our shower head was loose and leaking but we managed but does need attention. A/C perfect, new led lighting throughout ship so plenty bright except on top deck at Martian dance floor. Too noisy for us anyway we prefered the jazz and good old rock n roll from the Hollywood Brats in encore lounge (near casino area). Now real pleasant surprise entire ship is no smoking!!! YEA!!! except for top deck port side which we rarely visited. No choking or holding breath going through the casino. We didn't expect too much for this price so expectations were set low. We kept waiting for something to be terrible but never happened. However if you are that snobby or classy type. You want it all and pampered to your every little need. Gourmet food ,broadway shows, outstanding entertainment this cruise won't be up to par. Nothing wrong with that but just not for you. The staff amazing , friendly speak english very well, take pride in their work and seem to like there jobs. Buffet you had a choice everyday chicken, fish, beef of some type pizza, spaghetti, and few strange things but I tried a few pretty good. Salad bar was well stock nothing ran out which happened regularly with MSC. Dessert bar decent but don't expect exotic. Wave, the pool side burger joint, had made to order eggs in the AM. Food nothing to write home about but pretty good. MDR I had steak each night wife tried 2 different things - chicken one night and fish/shrimp jumbalaya the second night. Both were good, but the sides with the chicken were a little unusual. Steak not tough but not prime rib either very good much better then MSC steak which was uneatable and tough. Service MDR excellent. Victor was our waiter and did outstanding job. Courses came on time and not cold. Variety suffers great deal choice of meats usually fish, beef , or chicken. You can upgrade for more money like other lines surf n turf etc. Our table mates got Filet Mignon and loved it. Overall food good you won't starve and pretty tasty. We loved the midnight snacks at buffet. Again not for the snobby bunch but make your own Taco or Nachos all the cheese and meat you wanted to add. Pizza as with most lines not the greatest but good. 2nd night weird greek stuff just not my style but maybe yours. Hint get the spaghetti ask for extra sauce and you can load it up with cheese at the salad bar. MMM loved it. Tables clean and available almost as soon as the people left they were cleaned another MSC issue dirty tables for extended periods. Can you tell, little disappointed with MSC won't go back unless they make great strides and improvements. MSC only line I was told no can't do this or that. Now back to this ship and service. Ship is old even the comedian made a few jokes about it's age. However it is clean and sparkles. The theater and elevators clean as a whistle. Royal Caribbean seems to have issues with this on their older ships. Speaking of the theater glad to report unlike Carnival where they think louder is better excellent sound system at appropriate audible levels. Carnival and Royal both could learn a lot from there sound man. That said the not so good. Shows are pretty good especially the illusionist and dancing about average but singing on the main stage pretty bad. Think of American Idol contest some good some bad no out right terrible though. Mr. Chicago cruise director and his assistant (can't remember her name) do outstanding job keeping the ship hopping. Think of 7 day cruise all shoved into two days! Something for everyone Hip Hop, Latin, jazz, piano bar, rock n roll ,sports bar games etc. Never looking for something to do. We did miss no mini golf or slides. Children area had small slides and small pool. Nicely spaced out bars and smoke free casino, so pleasant surrounding for the rock group. Slots must have been muted some which was nice. You big on gambling they have all the games but not too many slots. Now the singing and talent outside the main theater much much better. My favorite was the Hollywood j Brats in Encore as stated above. You get the chance 2 must sees is the Tina Turner impersonator and the illusionist Calvin does some close up magic in sports bar. Even shows you the secret to a few. Tina impersonator was very good as well. Piano bar singer needs work and forgot words at time. That would be a skip for me. You can't walk from one end of the ship to the other without finding something you love. In this respect, this cruise was much better then any of the major lines I've been on. NCL, RCI, Carnival, and MSC. All fairness no sea day with little or nothing to do but then again the big boys can do better if they try. They don't cater to just to one class young, old, mid age but to all breath of fresh air. Now you want gourmet food, top notch performances, then you wouldn't like this cruise. Some extent you get what you pay for but I feel this is a good value for the buck. Ship is rather noisy so pick room carefully. We took R99 deck 4 which was perfect. Slight rumble from sea but best sleep ever at sea. Noisy at elevators so try to stay away from the stairs and elevators. Rooms close to the casino and Encore probably also good to avoid for the Quest game show and music goes on till whenever. This is a low budget cruise so they push drinks hard, and the adult late night comedian show which is extra $12/person we passed on. He does do a few minute complimentary skit before each main event and is very good. Naturally bingo they shove in between the 2 main events and works out pretty well. You'll have to learn to say no often for service is outstanding and everywhere. Minor annoyance and afterwhile they get the message. This ship is not an Oasis of the seas and doesn't pretend to be. Lots of activities missing and somethings need improvement but I wish this company well fighting to survive and apparently doing pretty well. Almost every inch of this ship is used so finding inside quiet spot is a chore. They don't take up the deck chairs at sunset which is also nice. Have nice tables with candle LED lights pool side in the evening thought that was a nice touch. Staff and service second to none and impossible not to have fun. I did miss my ice cream 24/7 like Carnival and of course Guy's burgers but they do have descent burgers pool side and ice cream during the day. Yes ice cream is soft serve as well as serve yourself but not rationed out like RCI with small cone and dab of ice cream for maybe an hour or two during the day. Be aware wave bar pool side turns into pay at night with different food items. Lots of venues have duel purposes. Lots of upcharges but for the money nice little get away. Now you can nit pick or expect top of the line food and performance but no one can touch their price in the middle of prime season. This cruise is not for the high society type but more middle of the road down to earth people. I found passengers friendly and maybe even a little more respect of others as well. I feel cruise is good value for your dollar and someways better then the big boys. I will be cruising with them again near future and hope the quality stays the same or even better. New ship going through refurbish right now starts sailing April 16. By new I mean old refurbished and small. Few other last minute things. Shore excursions much more reasonable price then any of the other cruise line sponsored excursions. We took the sightseeing and beach day in large A/C bus runs on hourly schedule for less then just the taxi cost to the beach and back. Disembark on time and fast. Needing improvement is valet parking while efficient somewhat slow when arriving and is expensive. Slow upon arrival is because passengers not organized not the the valet service. They are standing there waiting to take your call while you get organized. Presently parking $19 per day not as much as some port parking but not cheap either. The need a solution to the parking issue. When they grow some companies will see there is money to be made and work out something. Till then I'll be looking for alternatives to parking issue. Conclusion you get what you pay for but this cruise is a excellent deal especially for summer cruises with other lines priced out of sight. Nothing outstanding especially in the food line but very good and good value for your buck. Read Less

Great weekend cruise! Embarkation and disembarkation were super easy! Ship is old but was very clean and kept up nicely. Our oceanview cabin was clean and spacious. Storage was plentiful and the bathroom was comfortable. Shower was great! There were 2 pools and 4 hot tubs. Our cruise was at capacity but you could still get a lounge chair. Many bars with great service and tasty drinks. All of the bartenders and servers we met went over and above to make us feel welcome. Food was adequate. Menu was more limited than on longer cruises but was good. Same with the buffet, good but not as many choices. The Entertainment was outstanding if you are into shows. The theater was very nice with comfortable seating and spacious aisles. It was easy to see from nearly any seat. The first night show was a variety show that included a comedian (great), an illusionist (very good, too) and song and dance acts. The second night was a variety of eras and genres of music and dancing. This was probably more appealing to a little older audience (40+). We were in port at Freeport, Bahamas from 8am to 5pm on day 2. There are many things to do uf you go ashore but they akso have many activities going on on the ship, if you dont want to get off. You cannot beat this cruise for value. If you've never cruised or just want a 2 night getaway, this is a wonderful choice. Read Less

Mid March 2018 All aspects of this cruise adequate to wonderful. We arrived at the Port early and were dropped off by Uber, so that part was super easy. Because we didn’t use the Valet service, I can’t comment on that part. The attendants taking our luggage were quick & efficient, watch closely to be sure all of your tags have your exact cabin # . The process to receive your cabin key and be given your “onboard materials” is a bit choppy, I’m not sure how that could be improved but it involves quite a bit of standing and waiting. Once on the ship, everyone is allowed to go immediately to the Main Buffet. Personally I found the choices ok to very good, it was easy to make a nice salad, meat choices were delicious and the cooked veggies were all quite tasty. The included beverages were better on Bahamas Paradise than on other ships. We could choose from: 1. Sweetened Açai Iced Tea 2. Unsweetened Iced Tea 3. Lemonade 4. Tea , Coffee, Decaf Yes, I understand that most cruises offer the above beverages without an extra charge, however on this ship the Serving area was more accesible, better organized, kept very neat and of a high quality when compared to Royal Caribbean & Carnival. It wasn’t presented as an afterthought or done in such a way that one felt forced to purchase a soft drink package. I had an empty reusable water bottle, it was useful for bringing iced tea back to my cabin easily.....wash it out and use for refills. Mine had a shoulder strap and secure top. We purchased the one hour unlimited wine party tasting, it was $12 and lots of fun to sample wine that one wouldn’t ordinarily obtain. I’d read on other reviews that the Cruise ship employees really push the ( $70.00) ten drink package, however once we purchased the “wine tasting cocktail party” , we were left alone. The luggage arrived to the cabin in a timely manner, the cabin was spacious, beautiful & clean. The mini fridge, balcony , terry cloth robes, closets, toiletries etc were all adequate. Both tub and shower were in fine working condition. . . although not simple to figure out. Fresh fruit, Free room service food choices, hot coffee etc were a pleasant surprise, I did tip the wait staff extra. The one problem area were the European electrical plugs, even though we knew ahead to bring adapters and extension cords , they still seemed inconveniently placed and there were not enough of them. My advice would be to bring two longer extension cords and 5/6 European adapters. Comedians, music and Entertainmnt were all ok. The swimming pools were adequate and it was easy to leave the ship in the Bahamas and return to it. Cab rides were about $10 round trip, hot and not really comfy. That part is in need of improvement. Going thru customs using our passports was quick without any issues or endlessly waiting in slowly moving long lines. Considering how many very negative reviews I’d read about this mini cruise, overall I was pleased and did not have or see those awful things published by so many others. Read Less

We sailed as part of a package deal with a timeshare presentation. We stayed in Freeport for 2 nights, then back on the ship for another night. I have been on 14 cruises prior to this one...the shortest. The ship was formerly operated by Carnival as the Carnival Celebration. It is a 30 year old ship, but it still looks pretty good. I would say not quite as good as other cruises, but as a smaller ship, it feels less crowded and more relaxed than other cruises. Embarkation was fairly simple, and debarkation, although fairly easy, came with one glitch. We decided to self debark by taking all of our luggage with us. While we had a time frame for this, the ship did not announce when the ship was cleared and we could leave. By the time we got off the ship, there were 400 passengers in line to clear Bahamian customs. Fortunately, we bypassed that line because my wife is handicapped. Recommend self debarkation, but don't expect an announcement that the ship is cleared. Some people diss cruises, but personally, I've never had a bad one. Just go on this simple 2 night cruise, and just enjoy it! It is what you make it. I would go again. The only two things that took away from the experience: 1) The cruise line charged us $9 a day for a fuel surcharge. Not sure on what this is based, as worldwide oil prices have been very moderate, and 2) valet parking the port (not fault of the cruise line) was $18 a night. So this raked up a bill of $72 just for the 4 nights we were gone. Not many other options. You can self park, but not recommended. Read Less

I want to saw, my hats is off to the employees at Grand Celebration Cruise Ship. Everyone was super nice and very helpful. The food was excellent and their was plenty of it, must have gained 10lbs or more. I have been on other cruises but this one was the best by far. Our room was fresh and clean, their were plenty of activities that kept us busy, one big party. If anyone is planning a cruse the Grand Celebration won't disappoint. Thanks again for the great memories. The price was affordable and we booked the Bahamas stay for 5 days and 2 day Cruise through Royal Seas Cruise Line. Everything was included from 3 nights in Orlando and 5 days in Bahamas and then 3 night in Ft Lauderdale. What a wonderful time we had, well worth the money spent. Again if your looking for a cruise you simply cannot afford to pass up the Grand Celebration Cruise Line. This cruse is for everyone who wants to have a good time. Read Less

Given that this cruise goes out of West Palm Beach, it was an easy location to gather and get on the boat. We were travelling with our 95-year old father and they went out of their way to make sure he got a lot of attention. On the other hand, this is a tired party boat. And given that it rained each evening, no activities were taking place on deck. Many folks only go one way and stay a few days on the island - the return night was very quiet (in general). Food was OK - but not spectacular. Attended the "show" one night - pretty poor and walked out about 30 minutes into it. Entertainment in the lounges tended to be loud making it difficult to find quiet places inside to sit a talk. Keep in mind that this ship goes to Freeport Harbor - which is about 15 miles from Freeport - there is nothing to do just outside of the boat except for a few souvenir vendors. There a faster ways to get to the island - but this was pretty cheap for a cruise. Read Less

I did a lot of research before I purchased this cruise. I got a 'deal' through groupon, $269 for two people. When I called to book the cruise, I had to pay $65 per person for port fees. We arrived at 130pm, only way to park your car is valet, $18/ night, and only cash. There were about 300 people as we entered, no clear direction as to what was going on, we had to fill out paperwork for our on board credit account. We waiting about 2 hours in a line to get the room keys, and our info inputted ( which I had already done when I booked the cruise) . After this process we headed on board. The cruise ship is an old Carnival ship, VERY clean and polite staff ( this was the highlight) . They had a variety of entertainment that was suitable, nothing over the top. An adult comedy show was $12/ person, and wasn't that great. Check your weather as we had terrible motion sickness. We chose to venture out on our own once we arrived in Freeport. They loaded up 10 people per taxi for a 15 minute ride ( $10 round trip / person ) here you got to see the hurricane damage and a 'shopping center' with each store selling the same expensive stuff. $20 for a DORA shirt that said bahamas. AWFUL!! Honestly I would've just purchased souvenirs at the freeport port as you exit the boat and then spent the day on the now quiet boat. The excursions were expensive $100+ and I heard they weren't the best. A lot of people did they 2/4 night stay at a resort in the bahamas and apparently that was awesome. We had two twin beds pushed together to make a makeshift bed, it was awful and didnt lock even after asking housekeeping. Alcohol is very expensive, cheapest bottle is $100 of absolut, and soda you pay $20+ for unlimited . I would recommend getting drinks individually ( they had 50% off drinks during the entertainment, so wait for that) the drink package was $70 and was 10 8oz drinks, not worth it. $12 for a cocktail. Food was okay, set up was great, but certain things didnt taste right. we were sick and left the Stellar restaurant but the food looked amazing , also, there are two restaurants that are an additional charge, The Bull and Admiral club. You need your room key to get towels, and if you dont return them at the given time you are charged $20 per towel, same with room towels, if housekeeping comes by and you have taken a towel you get charged. Overall, we spent over $600 and this is without the excursions, definitely a waste for two mediocre days. DONT get this cruise, rather go to the Keys in a 5 star hotel. Read Less

The cruise was for my 21st birthday. I have never been on a cruise so this was a learning experience. I understand you get what you pay for but I definitely expected more. The pools and Jacuzzis were not filled until Saturday before we got off the boat. When we got back on they were empty again! I would call and ask and the desk had no idea what was going on. The deck security said maintenance but we didn't see any. We had 3 people and was assured the room would accommodate but when we got there, there was only 1 bed. We had to call and get a roll away. The food was the best part especially the restaurant that is included. They can't help the people who cruise but as a young person wanting to party I was disappointed. The music they played was outdated and no one was really participating. There were fun contests by the pool and stuff but that was the extent. The shore excursions are bs so you are better off exploring according to TripAdvisor. Our snorkeling got cancelled due to weather so they refunded us. They didn't offer any alternative which should have been a day at their own resort but at least we were refunded. The service was pretty good especially our housekeeper Sayuti, I believe. All in all the boat was pretty boring but if you have fun people with you, you might have a good time. Read Less

memorable and enjoyable place to vacation. It looked like a poor third world country. We refused to even get off the cart and had it take us right back to where we came from. We ended up walking down to the Hilton and having a few drinks at the outdoor bar until we were able to go back to the ship. The food provided in the “cafeteria” was embarrassing. All everyone kept telling me was how much I would love the food and the variety of items offered. Every time we went to the buffet the food looked like it was frozen, processed and reheated. We ate each meal at the outdoor grill where we could watch it be prepared or in the Prime restaurant. To add insult to injury when we finally made it back and were ready to de-board the next day we were told that we had to go back to the service desk as there was a “hold on our release”. I got upstairs to the service desk and was advised that my card was declined for $86 worth of incurred charges, that even included FUEL for the boat… I can’t even begin to understand how you would have the audacity to charge each passenger for fueling the boat but nonetheless I called my card company and was advised that there was a fraud protection hold that was on my card for a suspicious charge. Come to find out it was the drinks at the Hilton bar in Bimini but because it was in another country they took security measures. I advised the charge was authorized and was told the hold would be released in 24 hours. I relayed this to your customer service representative who then stated that I would be held on the boat until the balance was paid. After I explained to him that that was unlawful imprisonment, I asked to speak with a supervisor. I was first told there was not one available and when I insisted I was asked to wait. In my HOUR LONG wait for a supervisor I overheard dozens of passengers who had issues with credit card authorizations, one young lady had actually been asked to come the night before because they could not read the imprint on her card, she supplied it again on a new authorization form and THEY LOST IT!!!! Needless to say, after listening to complaint after complaint after complaint about charges I never actually saw a supervisor. The same gentleman kept telling me that “she” was on her way and when I started reiterating that I had a flight to catch he understood the importance of them moving expeditiously. However, I never spoke with a supervisor. I was told to wait for another half hour and then asked to sign a promissory note BY THE SAME GENTLEMAN WHO TOLD ME TO WAIT for the remaining balance (which I could have done from the very beginning when I advised they could run the card again in the morning as they had all the necessary information) After an hour and a half of waiting we were released to get off the boat but immediately heard an announcement that the customs area was full and they were asking people not to de-board until they could get caught up. We waited another 30 minutes before we were allowed to proceed off the boat and spent 2 hours in the customs area. Not only did I miss my flight but I missed a second flight home and we were not able to leave Florida until 8pm that evening (from a 10:40am flight). I spent my entire birthday sitting in customs and then sitting in an airport. My fiancée made dinner plans for the family that evening as my flight would have put me home at 2pm and the guest of honor was unable to attend as she was stranded in Florida, though we had family travel from out of state to celebrate with me. I have never been more disgusted with a company in my entire life. The professionalism, the un-organization, the blatant disregard for your passengers time, when offering such a poor experience is mind blowing. Read Less

We purchased a cruise/land package through Groupon for our trip. The cruise was 1 night to the Bahamas, 2 nights on the island at a hotel and 1 more night on the ship returning to Florida. We had a very nice time on the ship. There were a couple things that were not right and I'll explain. The temperature on the ship, in any inside area, was freezing cold. I mean, it was about 62 degrees indoors and near 90 outside. You could not be comfortable no matter where you went. Even the staff was complaining about the cold. Many passengers didn't have jackets due to the heat at the time of year. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and show us a good time. The entertainment was great, the food was also very good with many choices. The hard part was the luggage issue. You were only on the ship one night so you couldn't unpack because you had to take all your belongings with you in the a.m. when you disembarked the ship in the Bahamas. The ship was very clean and in good repair. The stateroom was clean and comfortable except for the cold temperature. The hotel (Grand Lucayan was miserable. I do not recommend staying there if visiting the Bahamas. Read Less

My partner has never been on a cruise ship and i wanted her to have a "taste" of one that was short in duration before we go on longer cruises. I have to say sincerely that I did not expect to much but to my satisfaction all was super. Embarkation went as scheduled, our stateroom was adequate in size and well appointed. The cabin attendant was super courteous and very responsive to our needs. The ship was in very good appearance from cleanliness to fresh paint. All eating/dining areas kept clean, free of spilled food and debris. there was always ship staff from workers to ships' officers visible and accessible. there was entertainment and activities available and the service always professional and personal. Overall, I have to say it was an excellent cruise which my partner and myself thoroughly enjoyed. THANK YOU!!! I would and will recommend this ship to fiends and others alike. I did not take excursions due to swollen ankles. My partner did think to highly of the sightseeing/shopping tour. In fighting among the guides one was spanish one was english. I booked this cruise direct with the Celebration booking office by phone 2 days before sailing as it was the only one that departed and returned on the dates available . A 2 day trip to the Bahamas (Freeport) and back to Florida. Sharing the cabin with my sister in law from England I booked a cabin on the Venus Deck 11 - 2 beds, balcony. THen I booked afterwards the Grand celebration Concierge Package for $350 for two. It seemed too good a bargain to be true. Ever bit of that package was delivered. I have sailed on several top cruise boats, but never had this level of service. Collection from bookin counter by concierge. Escorted through the additional formalities given his phone number and told whatever we wanted he would arrange and he did. He left us asking which day would we like the included Spa treatment, then told us at 4.30 would be the wine tasting and 5.30pm the cocktail party. Let him know what time we would like dinner in the Admiralty Club at no additional charge. The food here was 5 star food and 5 star service? Reserved seating at the show.. The cabin had a bottle of champagne, chocolate strawberriesand fruit waiting our arrival. We called Dantae with our request for the next day and those tickets were delivered later that night. Next day started with Champagne breakfast (both days) and we went to the Grove Gardens for the day $50 each and continued with a Bridge tour with cocktails and Hors d'oeuves conducted by the 1st officer. Best Bridge tour I have ever had. Then the Spa treatment. Comedy show tickets arrived for 11pm, But we were whacked. Last message from Dontae to advise him when we were ready to disembark on the following morning and he would escort us from the boat. Which he did. Then we collected the VIP Express Valet car return. The end of 2 days of professional cruise boat service. The best boat in service and Food. The boat Grand Celebration was an elderly Lady of the Sea, kept in immaculate state inside and out. Not the kind of tour that would impress anyone. Then for a lunch at a five star hotel. Burgers, hot dogs, some fancy cakes, cold tea, juice. The only highlight for me, was the beach at the hotel. lovely clean beach and really warm water. I will never cruise with this company again, everything you bought had 18.5% service charge added to it, and they still looked for a tip. 12$ per day was added to everyone in the party for room service so for the 4 of us we paid an extra 96$. Chose this because we were traveling with our parents. It was their first cruise, so we thought a short one would be suffice. We had cruised to Nassau before and were hopeful that Freeport would be just as awesome. The ship itself was dated. The rooms were a nice size. The food was ok, but seemed limited. Shows were average and the clubs were nice. The most disappointing part of the trip was Freeport. Not as exciting as Nassua. While the driver tried to impress, there really wasn't much to see and the history of the young island is limited. It is necessary to take a taxi to "civilization" where the beaches and shopping district are. Getting off of the ship was a chore. Long lines at customs made for a 2 hour wait, however, valet was pretty quick. Not a phenomenal experience, but you get what you pay for. Good trip for a weekend getaway.
