Staff was cool and did our room very nice but the food on the cruise is horrible and the buffet opened once!!! Then they charge the card on your room for everybody’s purchases you booked for! The ship looks old on the inside! Then they gave us 5 “free” drink coupons for a promotional thing they were running and they charge you 18% tip for a free drink which is only a couple dollars but nobody told us! FYI there is an 18% charge on everything u buy on the cruise nobody what it is. The cruise when it came to doing stuff such as activities was very unorganized and unprofessional. When I wanted to question the charges on my card after I got off the customer service acting rude and didn’t want to help me. Was expecting a lot more out of the cruise line. Was very disappointed in how cheap they are. Worst cruise so far . Oh and the port is in a bad neighborhood and looks like a place your car will get broken into. Read Less

I chose the cruise for the Panama Canal Crossing and Costa Rica destination. The cruise was good and service was excellent. However there was false advertising: 1) The ad says India food available. When we boarded we were told that India food is available only for dinner and not for breakfast and lunch. In the dinners also India food was missing for 3 out of 9 dinners. We were to request repeatedly to get Indian food. The picture attached shows a full platter of Indian food, while in reality there was only one curry and rice. The Indian food tasted like out of can. Greatly disappointed. 2) The ad says Rocky and Rollers Band (refer to the picture attached). The band was changed to some other cheaper band and saxophone and no communication. This was clear false advertising and disappointing. 3) The deck 9 & 10 were leaking water. The ship needs a make over. 4) For the Grand Cayman 7 mile beach excursion, no snorkels were provided and we were to rent the equipment on the beach. 50% of the excursion fees was refunded after several complaints. 5) Cabin needs makeover. Refer to Cabin review. Read Less

Royal Seas. Let me first say that there is nothing Royal about this. Don’t let the pictures of the brand new cruise ships fool you. The ship we got on was rusted and corroding away. They called us with an all inclusive package that in reality, was nothing inclusive about. We gave them a credit card number that we knew did not have enough to cover the initial $1,000 so that it would be declined and they could leave us alone. Well they had a way around that and charged it anyways so that we were way over our limit. After 6 months we decided that this was not something we were interested in. After trying to get a refund, we were refused and told basically that we either take it, give it to a friend, or forfeit the money. After some deliberation we decide to just go ahead and take it. We should have just forfeited the money. There was a bunch of taxes and hidden fees that were not included in our all inclusive package. We also paid $300 to upgrade our resort on the island so that our food and beverages were included. We set our date, book our flights ($400 extra), and arrive in FT. Lauderdale. After also upgrading the rental car (because we aren’t fitting comfortably into a Kia Rio $170 extra), we get to our hotel that Royal Seas booked us claiming to be a Ramada....yeah like 10 years ago. Let’s talk about false advertising here folks. The room itself was spacious, beds were not terribly uncomfortable, but the AC only cooled to about 78 degrees. Top that with only 4 tv stations, and the late night drug deals in the parking lot....we were not happy. Then we find out the next day our “orientation” was actually a Time Share tour. Living in a tourist town we know what a waste of time that was about to be...but they hold our Cruise tickets hostage until you endure 2 hours of “OMG it wont even cost you that much and you get this and this and this” better known as we cost more then a car payment and will bankrupt you into a contract you cant get out of. Come on Wyndham, you could have at least put us up in your “resort” to sell us a time share. After leaving 2 hours of our life that we will never get back, we call Royal Seas to complain about the accommodations, at first we get a rude little girl who very unprofessionally hangs up on us. As business owners, rule 1, never be the first to hang up. After calling back and speaking to management, they acted like they were gonna put us through to HR to put a formal complaint against that person, but we were hung up again, and only after saying they didnt have anything else available. Needless to say, we packed our bags, found the best little AirB&B 1 hour away and hightailed it out of there with our cruise tickets. Honestly, the AirB&B was the highlight of our trip. On day 3 we make our way to the port to board the ship. We get there at 11, stand in line for 1.5 hours, get charged $150 (taxes, fees, taxis, etc) and board the ship. Only to not have our rooms ready so we are forced to be around a bunch of strangers while hoarding our stuff because, well, they let anyone aboard. After barely eating a down right terrible lunch buffet, we sweat our butts off on the outside deck so the claustrophobia isn’t as bad before finally getting to go to our room...Where we promptly tried to hide in for 3 hours until the dang boat finally set sail. Let me say this right here if nothing else, they do not tell you what’s included, help you out at all, or care if you are getting everything you want out of the amenities included. We were afraid to leave the room for fear of having to be charged anything extra and at 18% gratuity alone, no thanks. Skipping ahead to the next morning (because there are just some stresses that needn’t be said) at 830 we all but ran off the ship to the hot island Bahamian air where we had to wait on a taxi to our resort. There’s our first indication that Islanders are not very friendly, especially when you’re a different skin color then them. We were ignored and left waiting for the next taxi because one female driver decided we weren’t her people. The next taxi held 12 people in it, 12 hot sweaty people, barely working AC, and a 20 year old van in desperate need of shocks. 20 grueling minutes later we arrive at the “all inclusive resort” where we were told to make sure we have a day bag packed because for 6 hot miserable hours, we would not be allowed to check into our room. At first we were excited. there was music, white (ish) beaches, and clear blue water. We found our own spot along the beach and took turns in the water (after all, trust no one, especially islanders haggling with you on the beach for Conch shells, marijuana, and Cocaine...yes, cocaine which we were offered 10 minutes after stepping foot on the beach.) 2 miserable hours later we get our buffet lunch (mediocre) and proceed to sit around for 4 more miserable hot sweaty hours before standing in line for 45 mins to get room keys. After walking to the absolute furthest room on the island we are met with a nice cool ACed room, but missing towels which an employee gave to us about 20minutes after getting in there. 7 hours in and we were already dead sick of being trapped in this resort. After looking into tours, excursions, and tourists traps (dont even ask about them unless you got money coming out of your ass because thats honestly the only way you’ll afford anything) the next day we purchased a rental car. $85 with taxes, we set off on day 2 with the resort in the rear view. While we found our own private beaches, coral rehabilitations, and deserted roads, the island is dirty, poor, and literally a living garbage can. Trash everywhere, run down buildings everywhere, abandoned hotels. It was downright sad at the state of what could have been a beautiful island. Day 3 we return the rental to an extremely rude owner who decided overnight that we were no longer worth mannerisms and check out of our hotel to get back on the dreaded cruise ship. I will say the return home was not nearly as bad now that we knew what was included but still, Royal Seas isn’t even comparable to one of those little rescue boats hanging off of a Carnival cruise ship. Before they con you into spending your hard earned money, think twice and read reviews. Splurge for Carnival, or stay away from floating death traps that hold a thousand people who would shove you overboard to save themselves and make your own way. AirB&Bs include house boats if you wanna be on the waters. Just saying. Read Less

Just returned from a 2 dayer on the Grand Celebration. July 25-27. A few things have changed and some I did not know about. If you receive a match comp for the casino it is for the tables only. Not for the slots. If you receive free drinks. You pay the 18% gratuity when ordering your drink. So if you get a free $9.00 drink your cost is only $1.62. Can’t beat that. Bingo has changed and not for the good. Price is way out of wack. Extremely high for what it is. $25.00 for 7 cards and only ONE game. Cover all. Normally there are 3 games. The slot tournament does not pay out cash. Only casino play for tables or slots. No evening buffets unless the ship is basically full and then maybe. Last cruise on there the evening buffet was excellent. The first evening in the MDR, neither my wife or I cared for anything on the menu. I ordered a burger and fry’s. Second evening we ate at the grill before they closed at 5:30. The ice-cream was ice milk. At lunch is was OK . Just before they closed it down, it was terrible, gooey. The pizza was very good. As were both of the lunch buffets. Everything was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. The shows were really very, very good. Better than what I remember. The comedian was very good. Getting on and off went very smooth and fast. Frozen drinks were terrible and tasted real bad. First one was a so called Miami Vice YUK! Took it back. Then a Pina Colada, YUK took it back. Mixed drinks were excellent and they even had my wife’s Moscato wine. On the Celebrity ships you had to purchase the bottle $45.00 + 18% By the glass on here. She was very happy. The day at Freeport Harbor was hot, but a beautiful day. Took our usual walk over to there. Three other ships were docked there. The area has been added to. A lot of new buildings and businesses. Everything was very clean and freshly painted. Less than a 10 min. walk from the ship if you cut through the Taxi parking area. The ship as usual, was very clan and looking good considering its age. Everyone working on the ship had smiles and were very nice. It is a great short getaway, considering the cost of the cruise. Worth it for sure. One couple we talked to hated the island but liked the cruise and the ship. It was their first cruise. Not sure what they did not like. Typical island and nothing much different from other island activities. I attached a picture of the vendors and business right there at Freeport Harbor. Read Less

I went on this cruise expecting a bad experience due to the reviews here but it was beautiful! The food was very delicious in the buffet and the restaurant that was included in our ticket had delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts to choose from. The room was very clean and everything worked fine. There are only two outlets, one in the room and one in the bathroom. If you need more, I suggest bringing an extension cord. The tv in the room had good channels and good reception so that was a plus. The live show featuring the dancers was admittedly cringy at times but there were good parts for it being free. There was a very funny comedian on board and the tickets were $9 per person. The staff was extremely kind and were eager to pull strings to help in any way. We only drank beer buckets so we did not get the drink coupons. We chose the excursion that took us to Vivas resort in the Bahamas and it was beautiful. Very clean beach, beautiful decor, great food and helpful locals. Overall, a great experience and worth the money. Very clean, comfortable, great food and tons of helpful people to answer any questions. I 100% recommend! Read Less

We took this cruise for mr daughter-in-laws 21st birthday. Valet parking was $40 for the trip. We got to the port around 2pm there were no lines to get through security and onto the ship. There are stations set up before you embark to set up your dining preferences and purchase drink packages. Ten drink coupons are $75. Ten coke coupons were $21 and unlimited non-alcohol drinks is $32. The room was larger than the newer ships we’ve been on with a huge porthole to look out of. The food in the dining room was better than any of the 3 Carnival cruises we have been on. You can upgrade to steak or seafood for a price but we didn’t find a need for that. The Classica has a Dolly Parton impersonator that looks like her, talks like her, and sings like her. This is her 20 years ago, excellent show. The main show was just as good. The pure talent of the singers and dancers more than makes up for the low cost production and the acrobatics were amazing. Don’t expect a lot of fancy lights and props but you will be entertained. Especially the two lead singers, they are world class talents. I would love to see them do a Micheal Jackson set. The only bad time was long lines going through customs but that’s on all cruises. Having a passport definitely helps though. Also, the bartenders were great, there are no weak drinks here and the DJ in the nightclub was very good as well, although being older we didn’t hang with the youngster too long. Read Less

I have NEVER been so happy for a vacation to be over!! Booked this 4 day Cruise & Stay for myself and my daughter as a graduation celebration for her and birthday celebration for me. On the ship...Only thing Good was the Food (Restaurant not the Buffet) and the Comedian (Loose Canon) There was lots of musical entertainment but it was strictly for the young twerking crowd or Hispanic... meaning the music was either raunchy rap / twerk music or Hispanic. Fortunately, for me I do like Cumbia, Salsa, Reggae (which they did not play) but would have loved to hear some good R&B or decent Hip Hop. They actually had 2 Parties going on at the same time and they were both Rap & Hip Hop and not the good Hip Hop either. I got into a conversation with a couple who looked to be in their late 40s and they said the same thing...”what are we supposed to do if we want to dance and enjoy music”. When I booked, the Rep put in an order for birthday cake on my birthday. When I mentioned this on the ship, they looked at me like I was crazy; they had NO idea what I was talking about yet “Birthday Cake” it was clearly noted on my Travel Confirmation. But I didn’t press the issue and I just let it go. I was looking forward to a better time on the island. Uh….Nope...not happening. So on the Island…. We left the ship around 10:30am and arrived on the island around 11am. Room checkin wasn’t til 3pm so we had to hang out on the beach til 3pm. So we ate and walked around and walked around and walked around some more in 101 degree weather. So, comes time to check in. We check in and get our luggage. We trek our way down 4 buildings, of course we were in the farthest building. We get to the room and the room key doesn’t work. I asked one of the Housekeepers if she could open it and she said it’s not the key, it’s the door. Apparently she had mentioned this to someone before but it was ignored. So we trek back past these 4 buildings again to Guest Services, stand in line to explain to them the key is not working and mention what the Housekeeper had told me. Guy swipes the key and said it should be working now. S0...we trek our way back down past these 4 buildings AGAIN to our room and try the key AGAIN. Key STILL not working!! So Housekeeper says they’re sending Maintenance down. So, we’re just standing outside the room and by now it feels like it’s 150 degrees. We’re sitting on our luggage waiting for Maintenance who NEVER showed up. Housekeeper said that I could get another room if I went back to Guest Services and I told her NO! I’m not walking all the way back up there again! She said she would do it for me so she took my key and returned about 40 minutes later with the key to a new room. The room they gave us was one they were still cleaning, so we have to wait until they were finished cleaning it. So Housekeeping is rushing trying to get it ready. Finally they let us in and floor is still wet and all we could smell was a super strong overwhelming chemical smell. Kid you not, this smell was so bad it made my eyes water and nose burn and that was with the keeping the balcony door open (and it lasted the whole time we were there). But at least we had a room; close to 2 HOURS later! Now it’s close to 5pm and we’re in the room waiting for towels and pillow cases which took another hour. I just went ahead and took a shower and dried off with the face towel. Finally, we had a room BUT the room they switched us to DID NOT have ocean view as advertised….”All rooms with Oceanview” Yea, if you get an Ocean View on the ship! The view was of a little dirt road that lead to the beach. No beach could be seen from that room / balcony. Entertainment was a DJ that closed up shop at 9pm; 9pm!! WTH! So when the music stopped, you were basically on your own for entertainment….go get another watered down drink and that’s it. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Read Less

2-days cruise price awesome. Neither pools on ship were operational for the entire cruise. Both had closed signs on them. Ship needs a major overhaul, caution tape everywhere and not sure if its always like this or if they are updating but there were no signs that they were remodeling or a sign saying excuse our mess. Everything is an up charge. You pay for an add on packages and when you go to cash in on them there is like 18% charge + a gratuity added at the end of your cruse for each person in your party. Returning boat left port late at night so they view while cruising was null. Food was nothing to write home about and drinks were $$$. Old, Smokey, nothing to do but sit. This is by far the worst ship I’ve ever been on. DONT GO. I’ve been on many cruises. Horrible experience. You will get nickel and dime to death. The ship is very very very dirty and old. Chairs are plastic and uncomfortable and the tables are wobbly. The passengers are below working class. Lots of tattoos and smokers. This ship actually has an unpleasant order. Extremely boring. Cannot understand the PA system. This I was a trip from hell. Get ready to spend more money than they advertise. There are better ways to spend your money and have more fun. The only good thing about this ship is when we got off. The prices of the drinks were outrageous unless you think $15 fior a bottle of beer acceptable. You can purchase coupons that reduceses the beer price to $10 a bottle - what a great deal. They also want you to pay extra money to cook your own food at your table. Read Less

A group of friends and I (all ages 25-32) did this trip as a birthday celebration. First off, for only $199 per couple- it’s a truly great getaway. If you’re looking for a top of the line cruise experience you won’t enjoy this but then you’ll also pay upwards of $3,000. The excursions were great options but we did a local cab fare to Taino beach which was fun and a great relaxing experience. It was just $6 for beach access and there was a great bar and food stand. The van was $14 roundtrip per person. There were plenty of activities on board all day and we were concerned the drinks would be watery but they weren’t at all. The food was great- I didn’t have one meal I didn’t like. I sprang for the extra charge of 27.50 for filet and lobster tail which was well worth it. The nightlife was fun, the casino was great and every single employee was just the nicest. It was a great time and even better for the price! We sailed on this ship when it started about 15 years ago when the ship was called the Bahamas Celebration and it was terrible. A local family purchased it and now it is very nice. In many cases better than carnival. The ship is in excellent repair for as old as it is. Most all the personnel are wonderful, the drinks are NOT water down at all. Excellent drinks. There 10 coupon drink offer is only $82.00 with gratuity, $8.20 a drink is a super price for excellent mixed drinks, What is nice about it. If you purchase a drink package on other ships, you MUST purchase one for everyone in your cabin. That is because they are unlimited. With this one you can offer the coupon to anyone for a drink. A couple that are moderate drinkers, it is a great deal. The soda package for only $24.00 with gratuity is UNLIMITED soda. That also is a great price considering a single can is $3.54 each with gratuity included. Not offered a great selection but the normal sodas. Both days the buffet lunches were excellent, yes excellent. Far better than on many of the big Cruise lines. Dinner buffet was not so good at all. Ether night. We did the dining room on the last cruise and it was as expected. Far better than the buffet but not as good as the big cruise lines. Unless you love Mexican food than stay away from the 11PM-1AM snacks. ALL MEXICAN both nights. Very disappointing for sure. No variety at all. Also disappointing is the soft sever machines are closed down after lunch. It would be nice if they closed them down at 1AM . Getting off the ship at the end was a very long wait. Not all booths were taken by customs. They split up those that had pass ports and those that did not. About 10% of the guests had pass ports. That line was very short, but still slow. Very slow, many got irritated at they staff and they had no control. People need patients some times. Now for the negative. We had cruised on both of there ships before, both are very nice but we prefer the Grand Celebration and this time was shocking for sure. Over 80% of the 1600 guests were of Spanish origin. So they catered to them 100% of the time. Not happy with that, but understandable. Almost every announcement was in English and Spanish including the bingo. Again, certainly understandable. All guests were super nice people that we were able to talk to. New Years Eve was no exception. We decided to do New Years Eve in the sports bar. Did not know it should have been called the Spanish Bar. All the DJ played was Spanish music all in Spanish. When I asked him if he could mix it up a bit. I was taken back by his answer to me. He replied sarcastically, . If we do not like it, we could just leave and go somewhere else. Everywhere else was jammed packed and most of the music there was live but Spanish, however you could hear different songs every other song or so. That was nice. But no room. So we sat outside of the bar and enjoyed ourselves anyhow. The sports bar had very few people in it. I wonder why? The DJ was the ONLY arrogant employee we had encountered. ALL the others were super nice and made up for him. There is always one, isn't there? So all in all if you do not mind rubbing elbows with mostly Spanish travelers this cruise, but this ship in particular is excellent for an inexpensive get away. I do recommend it. One last think. My wife left her nice favorite sweeter on the bed when we left. i call as soon as we arrived home. Still no reply from the cruise line about the sweeter. i am sure they had it. Read Less

Cruised on the Grand Classica 9/10/2018 to 9/12/2018 WoW! That basically sums it up. My wife and I have completed 70+ cruises. Every cruise line on the South East coast of Florida except Disney. 5 years ago we tried the Bahama Celebration and it was terrible to say the least. It changed ownership and the Grand Celebration went to the Bahamas to be a hotel for the hurricane victims. Then it went to the yards for a makeover. What a change. This cruise was on the Grand Classica and WoW again. Two totally different decors. Grand Celebration is lively with lots of marble shiny floors and a lot of brass. Beautiful! These ships are very old and have been upgraded to beauty. The Grand Classica has the old ship charm of a lot of wood. Beautiful wood varnished railings vs brass and the floors entering the buffet are varnished wood. So clean and shiny. Wood used beautifully everywhere. Yes there are marble floors also, but to a minimum. Even our bathroom had a Teak looking flooring. So nice. Not plastic. As for the bath room. Much more roomier that normal cruise lines. What was excellent was the pocket door for the bath room. So going in and out you have no worry about hitting someone with a normal swinging door. The sink counter top is marble and very large. As is the sink and the nice faucet. Hot water almost instantly. It is not a squeeze cramped space at all. Our room was an ocean view with a very nice large round porthole window. The bed and linen was very nice. The towels are extra thick. Nice gold yellow color. If you look out the window on other ships you will see a lot of rust. Not on this ship. Yes there are sections that need a bit of work. But considering the age of this ship. It almost looks brand new. Looking on the out side. The ship is so shiny white and I saw no rust as on many other ships. Every day everywhere there are crew members cleaning everything. Non stop. At the buffet there was a person posted outside of the bathroom. Constantly making sure it was spotless and it was. All the public bathrooms were very, very nice. Colors were excellent and new looking. Now the food. Very good buffet and grill. Burgers are super big. Several selections of sausage not only hot dogs. What is nice about the buffet are the small narrow containers for the food. Not much in them but many next to one another and the food stays hot. Because they are small. Fresh replacements happen a lot faster than on other ships. Breakfast is standard and very good. Complementary dining is very good. My wife had the salmon, so big she could not eat everything. She loved everything. The second night I ordered the NY 12 oz. strip steak. It arrived fast and perfect. I really think it was 14 oz. it was so big. Delicious and very tender. $18.00 + 18% but well worth it. As for the crew. Unbelievable on both ships. So wonderful, helpful and smiling. Could not have been more pleasant. Many other cruise lines need a crew like they have. That is what makes the cruise wonderful. The two shows were good but the magician was fantastic. So many things to do while at sea. Not much on the ship to do in port. Relax, do the hot tub or pool, get some sun. Bingo was almost a wash out. Mon-Wed cruise only 250 guests. Casino, lots of new slot machines that are NOT on other ships. Nice to see different games. Two pools and hot tubs. Very nice and clean. Lounges everywhere. I mean everywhere. Before paying to see the comedian I strongly suggest you hear him at the two shows prior to purchasing tickets. Getting on and off the ship. Super fast and easy. One suggestion was a shuttle at the island dock to take you to the other side of the dock where all the action is. Otherwise you walk. It is a little distance, only thing if it starts raining. At one time they docked on the other side. The live music was excellent, singers were excellent and the drinks are super strong. Worth the price for sure. Those that will be cursing for the very first time. Read, read, read everything on their website so you are not blindsided on the extra charges. Most ALL cruise lines charge close to the same. One thing to remember. Your gratuity for each one in the cabin is NOT just for your room steward to turn down the bed. Remember, that is not all he does for you. The room is spotless for you. He makes up the room and makes sure you have clean towels for the next day. Turns down the bed that night and brings you all the papers you need for daily planning. It is for everyone that takes care of you on that ship. It is divided. Also in the buffet and dining rooms. If you request ice. He will make sure you have it full at all times. A small price to pay to be treated like royalty. I do recommend these two ships. A great price for a great experience and enjoyment. Usually you get what you pay for. In this case you get more than what you pay for. Most of the time they offer great deals. WE are only one hour from the port. So we will e doing more fill-ins with these two ships for sure. Happy cruising. Bon voyage. Read Less

chose this cruise for price & quick getaway being local. Food was not bad for cruise food. While the buffett was closed due to the low passenger rate they wouldn't even give us the courtesy of a cookie. We basically had the ship to ourselves being only 200 passengers on this cruise. Room was very clean & ship was being cleaned every minute 24/7. We did get the massage specials since we chose to not debark in Bahamas. $68 special was well worth the experience. Only complaint was we were inconvenienced first night due to no air conditioning. While our steward called maintenance 3 times no one showed up. Going to the desk to change rooms we wasted more time for this missing the shows for first night. Belen at customer service was not the least bit interested to compensate us with an room upgrade (which would have been good business since there were only 200 passengers & 450 rooms) or at least a drink coupon for our trouble. This left a bad taste considering …… The shows were actually very good for a 2 night cruise & very sorry for the performers that there were so few people aboard to enjoy them. I would definitely take this cruise again due to being a local & looking for a get out of town to relax. Read Less

The boat was old. Crew spoke terrible English. We were charge $36 for fuel. Only decent dinner was $78 additional which included gratuity. Yet we were charged $56 for “gratuity and housekeeping.”The nightly buffet was the only “included food and drink” and it was equivalent to a school cafeteria without milk boxes. We sailed to Freeport, Bahamas into a shipping yard, 12 miles away from any accessible beach, and we’re forced to buy an excursion or sit on the boat by ourselves all day. We paid $105 just to ride on a bus to the beach. A 200ft long beach at that. The beach was the most pleasant part of the trip. Back on the boat, anything with entertainment value was additional. All of the shows that are free on other ships were $9 a person. My girlfriend got seasick and noone knew what crackers were. I had to argue with a bartender just to get her some sprite. My “seaside kingsize cabin” I paid $70 to upgrade to consisted of a dirty window and 2 old uncomfortable twin mattresses pushed together with no fitted sheet. Spent $250 unexpectedly after boarding on fees and regular activity that are included without extra charge on Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruises IN 2 DAYS. For $300 more I could have booked my girlfriend and I a 7 day Eastern Carribean cruise with another company. Not to mention these other companies have newer boats, and sail to accessible beaches and ports . I will never sail with this company again. Read Less

Chose the trip as a first cruise for my wife. 2 days on the water is a safe way to determine if a longer Alaska or Eupopean cruise would work. Everything from the booking process through the disembarkation was smooth. The ship is older and has been refitted so it looks and feels modern. The cabin was nice, I jab a lower deck outside cabin that had a HUGE round port hole window. Queen sized bed, side tables, and a small TV (for what?) were in the room. The fridge wasn’t up to par and the head of housekeeping offered us an ice chest but we settled on a constant supply of fresh ice and that worked well. We ate at the Admiralty on the first night, which was an upgraded dining option but checked out the Ocean Buffet which looked substantial on its own. Night 2 we ate at the Rock Grill, on our next trip I’ll try to finagle the Admiralty both nights. The shows are so-so BUT the Adult comedian on our trip (Lou Remy) had the audience rolling in the aisles. If you’ve been to Freeport and hit Port Lucaya then there’s no need to spend anything on the excursions. I’m already planning our next Grand Classica trip. . Read Less

I did this cruise with my wife as a short honeymoon. The price was very reasonable and I was really skeptical at first. I've done other cruises and I did not think you could get so much on an inexpensive trip. The ship was very clean the crew was very helpful. The food was okay the drinks were really good. The dining is more casual than on say a Royal Caribbean or Carnival in the dining area but I'm ok with that, no reason to bring a suit. We did an excursion to Wyndham Resort on Grand Bahama Island and loved it, awesome place! Don't know if it was the time of year or what but the ship was maybe at half capacity as passengers go. The ship layout is rather standard for older cruise ships kind of like a Fantasy or Sovereign of the Seas. This cruise is definitely worth every penny. Read Less

Husband chose it, we went for our anniversary. Everyone on board was so friendly and polite. We had a great time. The glass bottom boat tour was ok but not worth the cost. Iris the massage therapist gave me the best massage I've ever had. Tenacia the concierge lady was so helpful, between those two alone the concierge package was worth the extra $. Now the only complaints, best food we ate was barbecue and a hotdog because the expensive dinner was horrible, my duck and his steak was over cooked and the deserts were disgusting. Service was great. We did not get a final bill which is frustrating because it's hard to look at the charges and determine if they're all right. Overall it was ok but probably won't go on another cruise again anytime soon, this was my first. All the employees are so willing to help, that made you feel very welcomed. The dance crew were amazing, the comic was hilarious the first night the 2nd night not as much. Loved visiting the captain's cabin with the 1st mate, but we didn't get to meet the captain, my husband was disappointed. Read Less

My husband 2 kids and myself literally just left this boat! We had a great experience, lots of fun, laughs and family memories. We have already talked about booking our next cruise. The staff was not extremely friendly, but not rude either. The food was ok... not bad.. many food choices. We checked in our bags, they were all delivered to our room within 1.5 hours from boarding, which we thought that was really good. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Room service was amazing. They offered drink packages for alcoholic and non drinks, this is a great way to save money. The kids club was also great. Our kids were excited to attend and didn’t wanna leave. The only thing I wish they had more of was scheduled activities. They had a few.. not many. We have cruises on other cruise lines and it seemed to be a party going on somewhere at all times. Overall, we are extremely satisfied. Thank you all for a great family vacation. Read Less

To be honest I didn't have high expectations for this cruise and after reading some reviews, I knew to go in with an open mind. I will say, I was wrong. The Grand Classica was an incredible experience. The embarkation process was simple and the attendants were friendly and helpful. There were a large variety of foods available and everything my husband and I tried tasted good. The complimentary seating restaurant has delicious. My personal favorite was the Cajun Broiled Fish Fillet and Shrimp. Just thinking about it, my mouth salivates. Our cabin and ship was clean and there was always someone willing to help answer questions or guide us in the right direction. While on the cruise, there were tons of entertainment and activities available. One of my personal favorites were a Latin band playing meanwhile guests danced. When we arrived to the Bahamas, we decided to spend the day at the all inclusive Wyndham Grand Lucayan. The food was delicious and the alcoholic beverages were good quality with premium alcohol. We spent the day enjoying the pool, hot tub and the beach. The weather was wonderful, warm waters and sunny skies. My overall experience was great and I would highly recommend this cruise if you are looking for a relaxing weekend gateway. Read Less

I read through a lot of reviews before deciding to go on this cruise with my 2 kids (ages 10 & 15). I tried to prepare for any potential issues brought up by other reviewers. It turns out I didn’t need to! This cruise was great! I will preface my review by saying I have sailed in Carnival 5 times before. I needed something that would fit my budget and time schedule and this 2 night cruise on the Classica was perfect! Embarkation was a breeze. We were greeted warmly and everything went smoothly during the process. A delicious lunch buffet was waiting for us when we got on board. The selections at this and all meals were great. Our room was a spacious inside cabin for three. If I had to say one thing bad it would be the shower size could have been a bit larger. There were plenty of on board activities to occupy our time with. We dined in the Tellow Elder for dinner and breakfast and the food and service was wonderful! We caught both big singing and dancing productions and LOVED them. We also caught some of the other entertainment around the ship and they were all great! I loved this cruise and look forward to doing another one! Read Less

We (I am a single female and went with my married female friend) chose this cruise because it was BOGO...and all inclusive but it isn't. I was disappointed about this at first. But that's marketing for you. You pay for drinks, housekeeping, tips, some shows, upgrade on restaurants...but it was a blast and well worth the money we spent! We met so many nice people. I look forward to going again. I'm saving for next year and would like to make it a little longer cruise. I'm hooked!! Staff and cruisers were great...only had one sleepless night... many drunk passengers coming in late at night that were loud in the hall outside our door..I didn't notice the first night ...too drunk... They really push the alcoholic drinks ...I understand ... but it's not healthy! More self control next time on my part and more fun too!! I loved the excursion to Wyndham...went on a double decker bus...included all drinks...lunch...sailing, scuba diving, snorkling, kyaking, pool and activities, jet skies and more! LOVED IT!! Read Less

Sailed on the Celebration when it first sailed several years ago. It was terrible to say the least. The food was no good the crew was terrible. That crew they started with was the locals. I mean locals. Some spoke english. Lazy people and could have cared less about your enjoyment. Because the ship was recently refurbished and some good reviews. We decided to give it a try. Just a quick one about us. 67 cruises on the big lines. So we can give you a very good review on what to expect. For the first time cruiser, you will enjoy it very much, not being able to compare it to anything else. Let me first say. It is well worth the cost of the cruise. Watch for the deals. Today you can get an oceanview for only$129 and a child sails free or no child you get a $50 OBC. A great deal for sure. If you drink $70.00 with the tips for 10 drinks, That is better than $10.90 including the tip for a mixed drink. A savings of $39.00 The first night show was not that great. The cruise director is a country singer want-a-be. Not good at all. My opinion. A Lot seemed to like him. That was really the only set back. The magician was very good and the comedian was excellent. We did not go to his special show. I think that is $13.00 each. I would think it is well worth it from the 10 min. on stage that we heard. Super funny. My wife could not stop laughing. I have a hearing problem, but what I could make out was very funny. Many places to enjoy just about any kind of music you like. The food at the buffet for lunch when you board is so, so. Not much to choose from. The southern fried chicken was excellent so was the beef. They also had carved leg of lamb which we did not try. Later they had pizza which is a draw of the luck on what you will get. Either good or not good at all. The sauce is basically non existent. Sometimes it is undercooked. We were lucky to get pepperoni done perfect. So it was good, just basically no sauce. Soft serve ice cream vanilla and chocolate. Problem, it is not available in the evening. No late nite ice cream. I miss that. Late nite snacks fro 11:00 to 2:00am Tacos and dessert. The meat (Chili) was super delicious. They had flowing hot cheddar cheese to top it off. Excellent. Dinner was at the Admiralty where dinner complimentary or you can also opt for better choices for a nominal charge. My wife had glazed salmon. It was super big and excellent in both looks and taste. I had something I cannot pronounce with a burgundy sauce. It was excellent. Wife had peach cobbler and it was so darn hot. She loved it. We both had mango sherbert. it was excellent. We did not do the Admirals dining. The Pool bar and grill had burgers and hotdogs. I would guess 1/2 lb burgers. Taste was good but not that good of quality meat. Hot dogs were very good. Lunch the next day in the buffet was excellent. They had breaded basa fish fingers. EXCELLENT. French fries, and tartar sauce. The tartar sauce was EXCELLENT. My wife and a grilled pork chop. It was EXCELLENT. I had to try one. It was so unbelievably tender. I have no idea how they did that to a pork chop. it melted in your mouth. They had a potato salad with salmon. My wife loved it. Last dinner was everyone in the Admiralty restaurant. No buffet that evening. The reason. All the waiters do a song and dance like some other cruise lines do. It was very nice. The ship itself was super clean. All the major public areas were like new. very beautiful. Cabins are old but clean and nice. Our bathroom mirror has seen better days. However, the nice bright lighting over the mirror my wife loved that for applying her makeup. Getting off the last day was a breeze if you have passports. if not you are in a line for customs. Breakfast was from 6:30 to 9:30 AM. It was excellent. It could not have been any better at all. Typical, eggs anyway you want them, or scrambled or hard boiled. Bacon was excellent, potatoes, or home fries.Sausage and many other items. That was very nice on this ship. If you wanted toast or a bagel (Super big) they would toast it when you wanted it. So nice and hot at the table. Looks like they try to make eating healthy also. Butter is unsalted but tastes great. Yogurt is Lite and tastes great also plus the diet cheesecake which my wife loved. She loved NY style and this one was excellent. I have no idea where they got these. Freestone Peaches. You know, the fuzzy looking peaches. I cannot find they anywhere. They had them and so delicious. In the morning before departing they all tell you take your time. Enjoy your breakfast. They would like you off by 10:30. Remember, you car is valet parked. Even if it was raining you will not get wet. Docking at Freeport was unexpected. Before, they docked where the other cruise lines docked. You were able to get off and be in the middle of the fun. Lots of places to look and shop. Frogs bar. Harley Davidson store and many more places. Now you need to walk through 2 large parking lots to get to that location. Almost a 10 min walk. Not a problem, we like to take walks. But you need to cut through these places to get there. We have been to Freeport probably 15+ times so we did not book any excursions at all. The ship was basically empty to enjoy the Jacussies all by yourself. They did have trivia about 4 times a day. That was very nice. Also Bingo. Wife got 4 corners and won a lot of money, $33.31 :-) Game cost was $20.00. We were happy. I wish they had a slot tournament. Probably because not many players. The ship was about half full. Tue-Wed-Thur. I would think they do a lot better on the weekends. Well, think I covered it. Try it. Just do not expect a $1,000.00 cruise. it is what it is and well worth the price. Go and Enjoy!!! We will be trying the Grand Classica in two months. Read Less

Bought cruise, then upgraded to resort vacation as well. After 2 hurricanes interrupted our scheduled trips we finally boarded ship May 2018. We read reviews of ship and many were negative but found many related to the Time Share meeting people were forced to go to. We also ended up having to do a Time Share to keep cruise even though we had 100% prepaid—another story! We found boarding process a breeze, staff extremely nice and helpful, and very happy to assist customers! Ship had variety of choices to choose on lounges, dining and entertainment. These areas were updated and comfortable to sit in whether enjoying a cocktail or their coffee/dessert cafe had great sofa type seating. Besutiful window views in all areas. The rooms were typical cruise ship small and mediocre but clean and hot showers! We paid to upgrade meal to eat twice in the Admirality Dinner Room it was such a great food and dining experience we paid again for our night before returning to Wedt Palm. Awesome seafood and Filet mignon as good as Ruth Chris! 5 course meal give it 5 stars $33 per person was more than worth it! You can also buy 10 drink tickets for $69 when boarding plus gratuity. Welll worth the deal. You did need to pay $1 more when ordering Grey Goose martinis but still worth prepurchase drink deal. . Entertainment in the Encore Lounge was Hollywood Brats- awesome band! 5 stars out of 5 stars! We were only partially impressed with Wyndham resort when we got off boat. Not good food - poor service. No one comes to you to take a drink order instead you stand in long lines at 1 main bar indoors snd a small beach bar. Great beach layout with hundreds of beach chairs. Large pool and very large hot tub. No complaints here. Just expect very mediocre food and very little staff. We did enjoy the Entertainment nightly and rooms were very clean and in good shape. Maybe due to hurricanes two years in a row food quality was down and staff. We did purcgase tickets on board for another Grand.Celebration cruise Fri-Sun this time, no resort stay. Read Less
