Our cabin (222) was very, very small and a great disappointment. Storage space was limited, although closet space was adequate. The cabin is almost claustrophobic. Desk space is very shallow and the sink/vanity in the bathroom is minute. The ship was kept very clean and the entire staff was very attentive. Our Cruise Manager, John Riley, was exceptionally good and did whatever was necessary to ensure that every aspect of the trip went well. As on most river cruises, the entertainment is very modest, but enjoyable. Often, the entertainment boarded the ship, did their small show and left the ship the same night, but perhaps at a different location from which they boarded. Our second biggest disappointment was the food. The buffet breakfasts were very adequate and the buffet had many choices. This was perhaps the best meal of the day. The lunch buffet was slightly disappointing, with limited menu choices. Dinners were the most disappointing. Unlike larger cruise ships, there were 3 entree choices (in addition to a few "always available" choices. The attempt at "gourmet" choices for dinner failed in many instances, especially at the "specialty restaurant", where we thought the meal was worse than the main dining room. The main entree' was one shortrib. Unfortunately, my wife's portion was more than half fat and had to be returned and replaced. In our opinion, this attempt at gourmet failed. Service was slightly slow, but reasonable; however, the ship was about 2/3 of its capacity (less than 100 passengers). The daily tours are broken up into 4 groups - one group of active walkers or bicycle riders (those who could handle more strenuous touring), two groups of average walkers and one group of easy walkers. The ship provided listening devices for the tours. These devices made the tour leader easy to understand and you didn't have to be in a group around the tour leader. Reception and clarity of these devices are excellent. The tour guides were all very good and covered the most important sites. Some of the tours started with a bus ride and ended up walking some of the sites. On one day, we walked more than 6.5 miles, so be ready for a lot of walking. In all cases, walking was on cobblestones and other uneven surfaces. Egress from the ship was handled smoothly, although as previously indicated, the ship was at about 2/3 capacity, with less than 100 passengers. Read Less
